    A Birthday Trip for Kids

It exceeded my expectations. I ended up making a last-minute Reservation, but all the staff were very friendly, the services were excellent, and every meal was luxurious—we were completely satisfied. We would definitely like to stay here again.

    Second time.

This is my second stay because I loved it. It’s very relaxing! The Onsen is amazing! I’ll be back again.

    Visited again

It was wonderful to be able to relax in the Onsen and sauna without any worries, so I came back again. This was my second stay. This time, I was told at check-out that I was past the check-out time. It seems the check-out time varies by Plan, and the Plan I reserved had an 11:00 check-out. I was disappointed to be cautioned without this being confirmed first.

This is a very enjoyable accommodation.

We were able to take a family trip with our child. There were fun spots throughout the spacious grounds, and our child seemed very satisfied. The meals were fresh in BBQ style and simply delicious. We would like to come again.

    My grandchild was thrilled.

We had a comfortable stay in a spacious, clean Room. The BBQ dinner was very satisfying, with paella and acqua pazza in addition to BBQ. Even after checkout, we were able to play plenty at the pool and indoor play area at Rurikei Onsen, and our 4-year-old and 1-year-old grandchildren were delighted. On the drive home, they kept saying, “Take us back to Rurikei,” haha. Haha

If you are planning a Multiple Night Stay, please be aware.

We stayed in two Rooms of the villa for a Multiple Night Stay. On the morning of the second day, we had requested no cleaning and only an amenity replacement, but a staff member suddenly entered by opening the curtains from the window instead of coming through the entrance. Please ring the doorbell and enter through the front door. I was in my underwear, so it was very upsetting. On the morning of the third day as well, since IKYU Diamond members can stay until 11:00, we were taking our time, but around 10:00 someone suddenly opened the front door without ringing the bell, which startled us. On the second day, our child used a buggy, but the receptionist had a very disappointing attitude, and our child worried that they might dislike their job. A male staff member kindly explained everything to us. During a pre-stay confirmation call, we were asked about Diamond member wine for both Day 1 and Day 2, so we assumed we would receive two bottles. However, we only received one bottle on the first day. It’s fine if there isn’t one on Day 2, but it was disappointing because we would have prepared our own if we had known.

Staying with my 2-year-old grandchild as three generations

We left Osaka City before 2:00 PM on Saturday and arrived shortly after 3:00 PM. We immediately enjoyed playing with a swim ring in the Onsen pool, then relaxed in the large public bath. The indoor play area for children was well equipped, and our 2-year-old grandchild was delighted. The BBQ dinner featured high-quality beef ribeye and chicken steak, and we also enjoyed the red sea bream acqua pazza and paella. The jacuzzi bath in the Room was spacious as well, which thrilled our grandchild. Since it was a private villa, we were able to enjoy ourselves without worrying about others. We even saw wild deer strolling into the courtyard, making it a wonderful holiday for families with children. Thank you very much.

    It was very good.

For several years, we have stayed at HANARE many times and always enjoyed it, but the VILLA has its own Onsen, and while Ruri-yu is also wonderful, we especially love being able to soak and relax in a private space. Since my health makes it difficult for us to travel far, my spouse and I truly enjoy our stays here.

It was my first time visiting.

Everything was wonderful—those words say it all. The Facility, meals, and Onsen were all excellent. Thank you very much.

The service and explanations were truly disappointing.

First, I went to the lobby of a different building to check in as instructed by IKYU, but was told this was not the correct place. For future guests, shouldn’t the information be confirmed with the Accommodation? The on-site map and signage are hard to understand, so you end up walking unnecessarily. There are also routes with many bees that feel unsafe. Getting around within the Facility is only possible on foot, which is quite difficult. The instruction manuals for the amenities provided at check-in are also unclear, and some items do not work even when used as directed. The reheating and heat-retention temperature of the Onsen in the Room is low; even at maximum setting, the water is only lukewarm. The Room air conditioner smells strongly of seafood, which made it uncomfortable to stay in the Room or sleep. There were many children visiting as part of a school group or similar, and it was truly disappointing that other guests could not use parts of the Facility. Some overseas staff members’ Japanese was unclear, and there were many explanations I could not understand no matter how many times I asked. The Onsen Facility was disappointing—more like a public bathhouse. There were many children in the heated pool and it was very noisy. They entered the changing room soaking wet from the pool, leaving the floor drenched. I felt that with clearer explanations and improved operations, this could be much better.

    We had a great time.

We visited with two toddlers and one elementary school child, and they had so much fun in the indoor play area at the Onsen that they didn’t want to leave. The layout also made it very easy for parents to keep an eye on them. The interior design was stylish and spotless, which really lifted our mood. The food at the Onsen was delicious, and the price felt about the same as a typical public bathhouse. The evening BBQ was great—we came glamping hoping for something different from our usual routine. That said, I did worry a little about how much work it must be for the staff to deliver and collect so many dishes and ingredients, and to explain each cooking step so carefully. There are so many facilities around the Onsen and throughout the property that it can be hard to figure things out at times. However, when we visited it wasn’t too crowded, so we could ask questions right away and didn’t have any trouble. We spoke with quite a few staff members; experiences varied a bit, but most were kind. It felt less like formal “professional service” and more like each person genuinely looking out for families with children. The property has many newer buildings, and the greenery was beautiful—it felt very refreshing. Since our kids are small, I assumed we wouldn’t spend much time in the lounge, but we ended up staying longer than expected thanks to all the games available. Even though our elementary schooler doesn’t really understand billiards yet, they still enjoyed playing anyway. Some of the younger kids used blocks for pretend play as well. Even if it wasn’t for long stretches, it gave adults time to sit down and have a drink, which we appreciated. We were told in advance there would be kaki-no-tane snacks available; when we went there were banana chips instead, which was especially helpful for kids. Even though the grounds aren’t overly large, there were illuminations, outdoor play equipment, and plenty of other things to do—our kids ended up whining “I don’t want to go home!” at the end.

    Honestly, with your beloved dog.

BBQ is a bit of a hassle and not really our style as a couple, but being able to stay with our dog near Kyoto, with an in-Room Onsen, about an hour from the city on local roads—it's very appealing. After sightseeing and staying one night in the city, we stayed here for one night. The Room was exactly like the photos—clean, and the garden is spacious. It felt like it might be slightly visible from outside, but only barely, so we were able to relax comfortably. Even though it’s called BBQ, it was done with an oven and a cassette stove, so even we could manage it well. The meat and risotto were delicious. The risotto takes about 50 minutes total in the oven. I’m glad we read the instructions properly. This may be selfish of us, but we arrived 30 minutes early. The center house and another house are also not pet-friendly. If you’re staying without pets, you’d probably be completely satisfied—great value for money. Parking right next to the villa is strictly available only after 2:00 PM as well. There is a dog run! But our dog is a senior and naps during the day. That’s exactly why we chose this villa where we can take things slowly—but honestly, we wanted to relax with our dog for 30 minutes at least (even just on the first-floor terrace) and enjoy a quiet café-style break. As it gets hotter from now on, even with the air conditioning running, cars still get hot. I don’t think anyone would leave their dog in the car to kill time. But for senior dogs, using the dog run can be too harsh. Even if you say “please come at check-in time,” traveling with pets limits sightseeing and lunch options anyway, so it’s not that easy. Since this is a pet-friendly villa, we would really appreciate some improvement in this regard—even just a little consideration would help. We want to sit down somewhere like a café area and spend time calmly. From an owner of a senior dog

    What a shame…

Despite my difficulty operating the machine, no one offered to help. The staff seemed absorbed in working on the computer. What kind of training do you provide? This is not an Accommodation I would ever return to. My Diamond member benefits were also ignored, and it was the worst customer service I have ever experienced at an Accommodation.

A wonderful experience with delicious meals.

I’ve been a fan for a long time, and this time I stayed in the villa.\nThe staff’s guidance was excellent, and the entire guest experience is thoughtfully designed, making it a truly wonderful stay.\nThe food was outstanding as well—the morning clam chowder was especially memorable.\nI can’t help but hope you’ll add burgers to the menu someday, but I’d love to visit again.

We rented two new villas for our grandchildren.

As it had only been about 10 days since opening, the villa was clean and comfortable, and we were able to relax. We could park right next to the building, which was very convenient for a family traveling with lots of luggage. As soon as we arrived at the Room, our grandchildren were delighted. With Ruri-no-Yu and the nighttime illuminations, even though it was a one-night Plan, we were able to use the facilities for a full two days from the day of arrival, which was truly a great value. Thank you very much. The lounge also offered complimentary drinks, and we enjoyed games as well; however, it coincided with graduation trip season for younger guests, so the space felt quite small. I thought it would be more relaxing if there were separate lounges for each Accommodation building. The meals—both breakfast and dinner—were generous in portion and tasted great. We had been looking forward to enjoying BBQ outside, but when it’s still cold we were told to use a hot plate and cassette stove inside the Room instead. I would have appreciated clearer information on when outdoor BBQ can be used (as long as it isn’t raining). That also explained why the villa smelled like seafood as soon as we entered (even though it’s newly opened?), but aside from that, the in-room bath was excellent.

    Highly satisfied

We stayed here for the first time as a family of three with our 6-year-old child. The Room was wonderful, and we were able to relax very comfortably. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, with generous portions—we were very satisfied. We would definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.

Good accommodation for families with children, though there is room for improvement.

Stayed with two adults and one child. Since the child was under the age for Child Sharing Existing Bedding, only towels for adults were provided, which was disappointing. Dishes and cups were delivered as needed during meals, but none were prepared in the Room beforehand, which was inconvenient. Additionally, there was no floor heating, making mornings extremely cold underfoot. Adults wore slippers, but even with socks on, the child felt cold; not having floor heating in that location seems critical. The bathroom and bath area floors were also very cold—possibly marble?—making winter stays quite tough (visited in late December). While it was warm during the day outside with snow remaining on the ground, our child enjoyed seeing snow they don’t usually experience. The Room itself was spacious enough to run around in and had features like a kotatsu and fireplace that added charm. The meals seemed more about quantity than quality; expectations should be adjusted accordingly. Although bringing food is prohibited, a Plan allowing guests to bring their own items for hot pot or similar would be appealing. On a positive note, dessert cheesecake came boxed for takeaway—a thoughtful touch. For dinner we ordered several à la carte dishes for our child; however breakfast lacked à la carte options or kid-friendly menus—this was disappointing. Also missing from the Nespresso machine setup in our Room was any guide to coffee bean types/flavors; brewing revealed unexpected caramel-flavored beans—not ideal. The main building’s kids' play area suffered from overcrowding and wasn’t very usable as a result. Similarly frustrating: lunchtime at its food court required an hour-long wait due to limited nearby dining/shopping options—it would help if takeout solutions or other measures addressed this issue! Strangely enough though this space had floor heating (unlike elsewhere), leading everyone indoors feeling overheated while shedding layers—a puzzling temperature management choice! Lastly regarding hanare accommodations being located near P2 parking: signage/directions proved insufficiently clear—we mistakenly followed signs labeled "grax" instead before realizing they didn’t lead us correctly toward hanare itself…additional guidance here seems necessary. Despite areas needing improvement overall accessibility from Osaka remains convenient while children are likely bound enjoy themselves thoroughly making us consider returning someday!

    This price for this ...

This price for this quality is amazing. Apart from a slight chlorine smell in the bath and some crowding at the dining area, everything was perfect! I would love to visit again!

If available, it will make for the perfect holiday.

The facilities are excellent. The cottage itself, while slightly dated, is clean and spacious, equipped with board games for family enjoyment. The terrace features a glamping tent, allowing guests to enjoy an outdoor atmosphere. Additionally, there are plenty of free activities such as marshmallow roasting by the firepit, illuminations, and access to the onsen and kids' space from 7 AM—ensuring there's never a dull moment. Meals focus on local ingredients and can be enjoyed as part of the cooking experience. Overall, if not during peak times, this accommodation offers great value for money. On the other hand, there were several inconveniences regarding operations: - Possibly due to rain or overcapacity in general; there were long waits for almost everything. - Upon arrival, the dedicated parking lot for guests was full. - The system at the attached onsen facility was very confusing. Additionally, it was extremely crowded with day-use visitors during lunchtime—40 groups waiting at the food court and no room to move in the kids' space. - Each room is provided with an iPad; however, room service requires calling a general phone number using your own mobile device instead of a dedicated line—leading to repeated confirmations of room numbers and names each time you order. Since staff are not always stationed at reception either, it would be helpful if orders could be placed directly via iPad. - Even with express checkout completed beforehand, we still had to wait in line at reception because previous customers’ payments needed processing first (when asking another staff member outside reception about leaving keys with them instead—they responded that they were not part of reception).

    Family Summer Vacation

It was a hot summer day, but the indoor play areas were well-equipped, making our stay very enjoyable. The sand park, athletic facilities, pool, darts and table tennis were all child-friendly and kept us entertained without a moment of boredom—we even felt like there wasn’t enough time! The meals were hearty and very satisfying. We got so full that we couldn’t finish everything... Since it’s a glamping facility, the cutlery felt slightly insufficient, but it was understandable. It was also disappointing that we couldn’t experience the buggy ride included as a Diamond Member benefit because reservations were fully booked. It would have been nice if there was an option to secure this in advance. If I may add one more wish—it would be great to have light snacks like chocolates available in the lounge. Our children had an amazing time as well, and we hope to visit again if we can secure another reservation. Thank you very much!

    Completely satisfied.

I visited on a rainy day, but the Facility and service were excellent. In addition to enjoying delicious meals, I could relax indoors by watching YouTube on a projector or playing board games. Next time, I hope to visit on a clear day to stargaze.

    The Perfect Getaway

We had the best holiday! Stayed with two adults, an 8-year-old, and a 5-year-old. Arrived at 10 AM for a buggy experience and hiking at Rurikei. Entered the Room at 2 PM and spent time without any boredom as a family. Played games provided in the Room, relaxed in the tent kotatsu, and watched DVDs we brought using the projector. The meals were excellent! Cooking meat or warming dishes added a touch of uniqueness without being too much effort—a perfect balance. The waffles for breakfast were especially amazing! The bath was spacious, and all four of us enjoyed the jet bath together as a family. We definitely want to visit again!

    Anniversary

I visited for his birthday! He loves baths, saunas, and the outdoors, and he was amazed the whole time! The meals were very delicious and stylish, and the staff had enjoyable conversations with us, making him say he really wants to come again! It was unfortunate that the Onsen Facility was still under construction, but we look forward to enjoying the Onsen next time!!
