I haven’t thought at all about what’s needed for a private villa rental.

I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay (2 nights). First of all, the Facility’s location and setting are outstanding. It seems it has even been used as a filming location for the drama “99.9” and works by Kitano. However, I’m not sure whether they’re relying on that reputation, don’t understand what guests need, or are simply cutting corners, but the operation was far too poor. I’ve stayed at countless private rental villas and pool villas in the past, and in terms of the Room(s), Facility, and location, this place ranks among the best. That said, the management is terrible. Despite being an entire-villa rental with a washing machine, there was no laundry detergent—you have to bring your own. If you’re expected to cook for yourself, there are no cooking chopsticks; the pots are small; the stove heat is weak; and even the refrigerator cooling power is weak—ice cream barely stays frozen, and if you stock it with food, meat ends up dripping excessively due to insufficient cooling. With a larger group staying—and using the pool—laundry becomes essential because you’ll have to reuse towels unless there’s an ample supply. Yet you still have to go out of your way to buy detergent. I’ve never encountered that at any villa before. Most of the chopsticks are disposable ones only. The plates are mismatched with odd shapes and awkward to use. The sauna entrance step has rotted wood that’s broken and tilted; it’s dangerous just getting in. They simply told us to “be careful” if we use it. On the 2nd floor Rooms (other than the largest/best one), there is almost no natural light—it’s far too dark. The hallway floor has stains (which I could overlook), but more importantly it’s so hard and rough that walking in socks or barefoot hurts. Also, I think toilet paper should be double-ply rather than single-ply. BBQ supplies like charcoal and fire starters are provided, but some charcoal was slightly damp so it was difficult to keep a steady fire. Given this environment/location, they should provide not only fire starters but also a burner/torch. And there isn’t enough charcoal—please provide more. Based on all of this, I think most people who frequently stay at villas would feel similarly. This is absolutely unacceptable for an Accommodation costing hundreds of thousands of yen per night—not tens of thousands. There are positives as well: staff responsiveness (when contacted), the location/setting, and overall Accommodation quality are excellent. But they aren’t making good use of those strengths—the lack of proper management is excessive. Guest satisfaction leads directly to repeat bookings; instead of focusing on short-term profit, they need operations that consider long-term returns.
