    A quiet hotel.

From the moment we were picked up at Atami Station, the hotel staff’s hospitality made us feel this stay would be special. At check-in, we didn’t have to wait in line; we were seated on a sofa and served sweets and tea. After that, we enjoyed the open-air bath in our spotless room. The view outside was of the parking lot, so I deducted one point, but the bath itself was truly wonderful. The large public bath was also quiet, and soaking in the clean water at a leisurely pace was very soothing. With the complimentary drinks, my husband enjoyed beer. Since I don’t drink alcohol, I kept having lemon water, but I did wish there were sparkling water options for non-drinkers as well. Thanks to the attentive staff, we were able to take our time and savor every dish. Everything was beautifully plated and delicately seasoned with an elegant flavor. The dry-ice presentation for the sashimi was stylish. The dinner-and-breakfast plan is highly recommended. The amenities were well stocked and much appreciated. I liked the hair dryer so much that I’m considering buying one—it costs around 30,000 yen. We didn’t watch TV at all; instead, we could use everything from Netflix to Amazon Prime, which made for a very satisfying stay. The in-room slippers are adorable too.

It was a luxurious and spotless hotel in Atami.

It seems to have just opened this summer, and I found it while looking for a place to stay in Atami. Since it was right after opening, everything was very clean. You can also enjoy drinks in the lounge. The overall style is Japanese, but the rooms are stylishly designed—tatami with beds is a great combination. The TV was large, and I was surprised by how many of the amenities felt high-end. The best part was the bath. It’s a semi-open-air bath, but it’s impressively spacious for an in-room bath, and the water circulates so you can soak anytime—absolutely wonderful. Since we were in Atami, we also tried the large public bath on the first floor. That was spacious as well, and the open-air rock bath was great too. After relaxing in the baths, we had dinner. The dining area is on B1, and it’s incredibly stylish—more like a chic dining spot you’d find in central Tokyo. There were quite a few international staff members (probably because of the area). They were a bit awkward at times, but everyone worked hard and left a good impression—it made me want to support them going forward. The food was excellent as well—perhaps creative kaiseki—and you could really feel their attention to detail. Everything tasted outstanding. Atami can be crowded with young people around the station and downtown areas, but this place felt calm and elegant—a space where you can truly relax at your own pace. I visit Atami often, and this is definitely an inn I’d love to return to again.
