A Stylish Hotel Right in Front of the Ishibutai Kofun
A new Hotel in an unbeatable location right in front of the Ishibutai Kofun. If it gets registered as a World Heritage site, it will probably become very hard to make a Reservation. Depending on the Room, you may be able to see Ishibutai from the terrace. The Room was clean and new, with Bose speakers and a TV with internet access. If I had to mention one thing, it was hard to figure out where to put used towels. The food was also excellent—a yakiniku course featuring vegetables from Asuka Village and rare cuts from Yamato beef purchased whole. Very satisfied.

The Ishibutai Stone Stage is right in front of you!
All the staff are so kind! The Ishibutai Tumulus is very close by, and if you walk a little further there are more ancient burial mounds—it's amazing! The Room is even nicer than in the photos. The Asuka scenery is beautiful, and you can also see Mt. Nijo. Relaxing in the hammock on the balcony was wonderful! The BALMUDA kettle and the coffee packs were delicious! There were lots of tasteful books in the stairwell area, and I really enjoyed them. The manga “Tenjo no Niji” was so interesting—I want to read more! Breakfast was great too—the white rice was glossy and delicious! Maybe because there are only five rooms, it’s quiet in the morning and you can eat at a relaxed pace. They also store your luggage after checkout! When I mentioned we were going for a walk to Asukadera Temple and Iruka’s Kubizuka, they gave us frozen Aquarius sports drink and Ramune candies to help prevent heatstroke. So grateful!

I’d love to stay here again.
I stayed for one night with dinner and breakfast included. It is close to the Ishibutai Kofun, the room was clean, and the meals were delicious. There is no bathtub, but there is a body shower, so it was not inconvenient. This time I prioritized visiting sightseeing spots in Asuka Village, but next time I would like to relax and spend more time at the Hotel. Thank you very much.

Thank you very much for taking such great care of us. Not only were the Facility and meals excellent, but we were also extremely satisfied with the hospitality of all the staff. Thank you for your attentive support, including the evening firefly tour and assistance with renting bicycles. We will definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful stay!
We could enjoy a view of the Ishibutai Tumulus from the Room terrace! For dinner, we fully enjoyed plenty of delicious Yamato beef, and for breakfast, we took our time savoring yudofu with a rich soybean flavor along with a variety of local side dishes made with regional ingredients. The hospitality shown by all the staff was wonderful, and we had a very pleasant stay while feeling close to the Ishibutai Tumulus.

Ishibutai’s cherry blossoms, night stalls, and the deep darkness.
This Accommodation is located very close to the Ishibutai Kofun. The information on IKYU was extremely accurate. Although this area—aiming for World Heritage status—gets very crowded, the scenery is well preserved. During the day, the surroundings can be quite busy with tourists and parking may feel confusing, but guest parking spaces are secured on the property. On the second floor, five Rooms are arranged on all sides, and each Room offers its own view. The Rooms are clean and functional, making good use of natural wood tones. The generously sized unit bath was comfortable, with plenty of hot water. The large first-floor restaurant welcomes many day visitors during daytime hours, but at dinner time it’s relaxed since there are only five in-house parties. The food was delicious, and the free-flow Asahi draft beer and local junmai sake were also excellent. We enjoyed a limited-time seasonal event: the Ishibutai cherry blossom light-up and a night market at the lawn plaza. Once the tourists leave at night, it becomes very quiet. When I opened the window around dawn as the mountain ridge began to brighten, I could hear birds singing continuously—this is a true satoyama morning that you can experience only by staying here. All staff were friendly with warm smiles and good manners. The lounge and library are compact but well equipped. It was a very comfortable stay.

Asuka Village in the Morning Mist
Our usual routine had been to take the Kintetsu Line from Osaka-Abenobashi to Asuka Station, then rent bicycles to explore Asuka Village. This time, we heard we could stay overnight in Asuka Village, so we booked right away. We drove there and arrived at the Accommodation without any major traffic. In the evening, we cycled around Asuka Village and enjoyed a beer before dinner. After dinner, we visited the illuminated Ishibutai Tumulus. The cherry blossoms were more beautiful than expected, so we snapped a few photos on our phones. The next morning, we took a walk through the morning mist toward the rice fields. You can only experience both the nighttime illumination and the morning mist of Asuka Village by staying overnight. It was a wonderful stay that let us soak in the unique atmosphere still filled with an ancient charm.

A great-value Hotel in the best location for enjoying Ishibutai.
I visited right during cherry blossom season, and as the title says, the Hotel is located directly in front of Ishibutai, making it perfect for going to see the illuminated night cherry blossoms. We also received event admission tickets from the Hotel, so we were able to enjoy it for free. The Hotel opened in 2025, so the Facility is new and the Room was spacious enough, but it was disappointing that the bathroom had only a shower and no bathtub. We chose a Plan with dinner and breakfast included. The Yamato beef dinner used high-quality beef and was filling enough, but I felt there could have been a few more dishes. The staff were very kind and left a great impression. Overall, considering the value for money, I think it’s a very good Hotel.

The Hotel I wanted right by the Ishibutai Stone Stage.
It seems to have opened around last summer in the heart of Ishibutai Park, and the concept is well thought out, making for a very comfortable stay. From the Room terrace, we enjoyed all-inclusive drinks and snacks while taking in views of Ishibutai and the cherry blossoms. We also enjoyed morning and evening walks around Ishibutai Park. Since my companion fell ill the day before and could not come, I contacted the Hotel to ask if we could at least Cancel the Reservation for one person’s meals. They explained that refunds are difficult with Online Credit Card Payment, but they kindly prepared several kinds of Asuka Village souvenirs for my companion who couldn’t make it, which made them very happy. The gifts included honey, rice, and various other items—thoughtful souvenirs that really showed their care. Thank you very much. As a newly opened Hotel, you can truly feel the staff’s hospitality; however, since there are only five Rooms, I’m worried it may become harder to make a Reservation during popular seasons as time goes on.

Explore Asuka Village: Ishibutai Tomb View from the Window
I chose this Hotel mainly to visit Ishibutai Tomb. When choosing a Room, honestly, the loft and hammock weren’t deciding factors for me. But on a sunny day, the hammock must be wonderful. That day it was pouring rain, so I gave up exploring the village and went to the Hotel around 11:00 just to leave my luggage. They told me my Room was already prepared and invited me to rest there right away. Check-in is normally at 15:00, so although it was special handling, I truly appreciated it. At check-in, the front desk staff member happened to be a Nara tourism ambassador. They gave me their business card that qualifies for group discounts at places like Ishibutai Tomb and the Takamatsuzuka Tumulus. When I said I wanted to buy a one-day pass for the Akakame loop bus for sightseeing the next day, they immediately looked up where to buy it and prepared a timetable along with brochures of Nara’s highlights. They explained that passes are sold at the bus stop right across from the Hotel. Ishibutai Tomb is about a 3-minute walk away. When I said I wanted to go check both locations in advance, they promptly lent me a large umbrella. Unfortunately, no one was at the ticket counter because they had stepped out. Then another male staff member actually went there in the rain, bought my pass, and had it ready for me. Some five-star Hotels have concierges who arrange tickets and such—but this level of care surprised and moved me! As an Accommodation facility, there are no convenience stores nearby, so the all-inclusive plan was very helpful. There is a lounge-corner area where everything is explained carefully. They offered local Nara sake, whisky, wine, soft drinks, homemade(?) canelés and jam, Japanese honey (made in Japan), crackers, nuts, plus a beer server and sparkling water server—though around 18:00 two of those servers were removed. As explained to us, warming the canelé in a BALMUDA toaster for 4 minutes made it crispy and delicious. The mango juice among the soft drinks was thick and tasty as well. They also had books about Nara and board games available. We only had breakfast meals; assorted side dishes served in Yoshino cedar bowls were wonderful—especially soothing yudofu with rich dashi broth. It was so good that I wished we had eaten dinner too. Only rice and drinks were self-serve. This may depend on which Room you stay in; just being able to clearly view Ishibutai Tomb from my window already satisfied my travel purpose. On top of that—from both front desk staff members especially—the hospitality shown by every staff member made this an outstanding Accommodation.

We had a relaxing stay.
A small Hotel in a location overlooking Asuka’s Ishibutai. It may have been the off-season, as it felt like there were fewer staff members, though it didn’t feel insufficient. The Room was simply stylish—I found myself thinking how nice it would be to have a bedroom like this. At first I thought the loft might be unnecessary, but it was perfect for reading. The bath had a headrest so I could really relax. The faucet in the washing area was set too low and was hard to use, though it looked stylish. It was nice to be able to take off my shoes, but I almost walked out wearing the toilet slippers. I’m not sure you’d call it a lounge, but for those who drink alcohol, the selection was great. Both types of tea were delicious. I liked the rice-flour cookies—they were light and crispy. I’m sorry for making a mess with the sparkling water maker. It was disappointing that I couldn’t try the canelé. Dinner was yakiniku-style, but there was too much meat for me—having vegetables available was nice. I prefer fat somewhere between ichibo and brisket, so sirloin felt heavy. The Yamato beef seemed lighter in “beefiness” in a good way; compared with Matsusaka beef, it felt less gamey/strong-smelling (where I live there’s even a shop where Matsusaka beef is cheaper than supermarket wagyu). Breakfast felt like a classic Ryokan breakfast! Overall, I’d rate the meals around 3.5—tasty, but in an ordinary way; it’s hard to explain. Above all, it was very quiet. There were speakers too, so I could read while playing my favorite music—an experience that’s hard to have at home. As for amenities, I was curious about the skincare items—I wish there had been an introduction/display corner explaining them.

Hammock
Was it unexpectedly all to ourselves? There were various highlights and a few questionable points. If possible, I’d like to put together a full review later.
