  A stylish Accommodation where you can relax in peace

  I stayed here solo for two nights. My Room featured a modern interior renovated from a former fire station, with simple services focused on just the essentials. It’s rare in Kinosaki Onsen to find a Room with a balcony, and after bathing I could sit in a chair, feel the breeze outside, and truly unwind. It’s designed as one connected space together with the main building across the road, and the staff’s subtle attentiveness and friendly check-ins were very comforting. Meals aren’t included, but I enjoyed dining out in Kinosaki for the first time and discovered that many places stay open later than expected. The indoor bath was at just the right temperature and very convenient to use. After checkout, I stopped by the café on the first floor; breakfast enjoyed while looking at the large wall-sized artwork was delicious and made for a perfect end to my trip. This is an Accommodation I’d love to stay at again.

  It’s a wonderful Ryokan, and I’m very satisfied.

  Both the Facility and our Room were quiet and very clean. The cafe’s breakfast—especially the cafe latte and toast—was delicious. The Japanese paintings displayed in the cafe were wonderful, and overall it was a stylish, beautiful building. I only have one request: I would have liked a small fan in the changing area of the bath. With the Onsen and warm temperatures, it’s easy to work up a sweat after bathing, so having a fan would have been helpful. Overall, it was a very nice Ryokan that we really liked, and we would love to visit again.

  Thank you very much for staying at Tsuchiya Ryokan. We truly appreciate your kind words about the cleanliness of our Ryokan and Room, as well as breakfast at UTSUROI. Our breakfast bread is selected by the owner, who is a certified bread sommelier, and we hope you enjoy it together with our carefully chosen coffee. We are delighted to hear that you liked the café latte and toast. The Japanese paintings displayed in the Ryokan were created by the owner’s uncle, who is also an alumnus of our Ryokan, and his works are currently exhibited at the Prime Minister’s Official Residence as well. We are honored that you took notice of the artwork along with the atmosphere of the building. Thank you for your valuable feedback regarding a fan in the changing area. We will use it as a reference for future Facility improvements so that guests can feel more comfortable after bathing during warmer seasons.
