  I chose this because I expected to arrive after 6:00 PM due to other commitments, and it was great! Since it’s part of a resort condominium, the renovated Room was spacious and had a wonderful view with lots of greenery. Dinner and breakfast are prepared in the refrigerator, so you can heat them up with the IH cooktop or microwave and eat whenever you like. Bringing your own food is allowed, so I enjoyed dinner with sashimi and my favorite drinks! The Onsen was at a comfortable temperature, though it felt a bit small. There is no open-air bath, but even the indoor bath has a great view. The staff interaction was minimal as needed, but their smiles were nice. Recommended for experienced travelers!

  We stayed in a Delux...

  We stayed in a Deluxe Room with four people. Part of a resort condominium is used as an Accommodation, and it has a great view, is quiet, and offers a nice setting. There isn’t a large public bath, open-air bath, or lavish meals, but there is proper Onsen water, and the meals are easy since you just need to heat them up. Dinner was only hot pot and steamed dishes, which felt a bit limited, so we bought additional food (there is no shop on-site, so please bring your own). For breakfast, when there are more people it takes quite a while to heat everything in the microwave. It took over 20 minutes for four of us, so the items heated first started to get cold. I hope this can be improved. Overall we were satisfied and would like to stay again.

  Second Home

  This is a condominium designed as a second home. It features a workspace and a relaxing library area, plus a self-service drink corner where you can enjoy coffee, tea, and more at any time; the beverage selection was excellent. It is an Accommodation well-suited for guests who do not need excessive services, and it was relatively reasonably priced.

  Spacious rooms in an apartment-style Accommodation.

  I made my Reservation three days before departure during a three-day holiday weekend, so the available options were limited. Upon arrival, the building signage read “Hakone Kokusai Mansion,” making it clear that this Accommodation operates within a residential apartment building. Check-in is handled at the management office/front desk on the 4th floor. Near the elevators on the way from the front desk to the guest rooms, I occasionally noticed pet odors, so those who are sensitive may want to keep this in mind. The room was spacious, but lighting was subdued, and it felt a bit cold at night in winter. This stay for two people for one night with dinner cost about 40,000 yen. Dinner was a self-heating medicinal hot pot; the taste was average. After eating, we washed our own dishes. The bath area is small and feels more like a shared public bath. I also passed residents while using it. If you prefer a quieter soak, choosing your time carefully may help. In terms of access, the uphill walk from the bus stop to the Facility is quite steep and requires some stamina. Getting there was fine, but on the way back I had to let several buses pass before boarding, which was mentally tiring. Driving is recommended; if using public transportation, please check timetables in advance and plan with extra time. Overall, with many self-service elements, challenging access, and occasional interaction with apartment residents, this Accommodation will likely suit some guests more than others. It didn’t fit my preferences this time, so I’d consider other options next time.

  Part of a Resort Condominium

  Part of the resort condominium is available as accommodation. The Onsen was a bit far from the accommodation building, so it might feel cold in midwinter... but the starry sky was beautiful, and it shouldn't be an issue if it's not winter. Unlimited coffee and herbal tea were available, and the meals were very healthy. Hakone has many restaurants with delicious food, so having healthy meals here felt just right. Since there are no shops nearby, bringing your own snacks might be a good idea. It was nice to relax without any interruptions.
