    A private detached guest room with an open-air bath, where you can enjoy a sky full of stars at night.

    As soon as we arrived at the parking lot, Hotel staff came over and helped carry our luggage. The entrance, surrounded by trees, had a lovely atmosphere, and the Room felt comfortable with its modern Japanese style. The private open-air bath was pleasantly lukewarm—perfect for relaxing—while the large public bath was set to around 41°C, which felt just right. The water is clear and neutral in scent and taste, leaving a refreshing feeling after bathing. Dinner was a chef’s creative course menu, and each dish was carefully prepared—we were very satisfied. For us in our 60s, it was almost more than we could finish. The grounds are spacious, with spring water flowing into a pond with koi. The pathways are full of charm as well, but they are somewhat long and include slopes, so older guests should take care. At check-in you can receive feed for the ducks. Ducks (and cats) come close looking for food and are adorable, but they may compete for it; some guests were bitten when feeding directly from their hand, so please be careful. After an unexpected evening rain stopped, we looked outside late at night to find a sky full of stars. On clear summer nights, it seems you could lie back on the terrace couch and enjoy stargazing. I did wish the Room trash bin were a bit larger. The staff were thoughtful in many ways overall, making this a very pleasant stay.

    We were extremely satisfied with this accommodation.

    From the moment we arrived by car, we were impressed by the warm hospitality. After checking in at the front desk, everything—from the charming covered walkway leading to our detached Room and the adorable ducks welcoming us, to the spacious, spotless Room with a private indoor bath and open-air bath—was a delightful surprise after another. In addition, every dish we enjoyed in the dining building next to the front desk while overlooking the Japanese garden was absolutely delicious. Above all, the staff’s pleasant and attentive service was outstanding, and our whole family had a wonderful time. Thank you very much. Next time, we would love to stay again together with other family members who couldn’t join us on this trip.

    We were very satisfied.

    The open-air bath attached to the Room was spacious, and there were also sun loungers, making it perfect for relaxing. The Room was clean and comfortable, and we had a pleasant stay. The service was polite and we were satisfied. The meals were delicious and luxurious; however, if I may be picky, the portions were too large. For guests in their 50s, about half would likely be enough to feel full. It would be even better if portion sizes could be adjusted.

    It was amazing!

    At first, I wasn’t sure because the large public bath was out of order, but the open-air bath in the Room was amazing. The food was excellent too! I definitely want to come again!!

    A Tranquil Ryokan in Aso

    I stayed here during a trip to southern Kyushu. Thank you for kindly coming to the parking lot to pick up our luggage. The private detached Room was calm and relaxing, and the open-air bath was great. The meals were delicious, using local ingredients. However, when I opened my suitcase on the floor, dust rose into the air, which was a bit disappointing. Other than that, it was a very satisfying Ryokan with thoughtful touches such as feeding the ducks.

    Family-friendly for guests with children

    The staff were exceptionally friendly. They treated our child with great care, which made us feel at ease. We were able to feed the ducks, and our child was delighted. It was a bit disappointing that the open-air bath in the large public bath was out of order. Dinner was delicious, but breakfast didn’t suit our taste very much.
