    Comfortable for solo travelers too

    Both the interior and exterior are new, clean, and functional. The parking lot is spacious, making it easy to park. The beer and sake after a bath were excellent. I tried four types of sake, and all of them were delicious. All the meals were delicious as well—the Tamba black soybean tempura was outstanding. They also had everything I wanted to drink—beer, sake, wine, and shochu—so I ended up drinking a little too much.

    It was the Hotel I expected.

    I happened to find this property on IKYU and visited looking forward to the meals, and it met my expectations.\nAfter check-in, we enjoyed tea and sweets in the lobby. Drinks throughout the property are all-inclusive—soft drinks, beer, and more—so you can have them whenever you like. The Room was clean, quiet, and very relaxing.\nDinner was a semi-order buffet. Every dish was creative and delicious, and we were very satisfied; however, by the time we worked our way through everything, the portions felt a bit too much for us seniors, so not being able to finish the final dessert was our only regret. Breakfast was also excellent, with freshly fried tempura prepared on the spot.\nThe only reason I rated the guest Room 4 stars is that there was nowhere to place luggage except for the table in the table-and-chair set; once we spread out our bags, there was no space left to set down drinks. Even a foldable luggage rack would have been appreciated (honestly, it’s more like minus 0.5).\nThis time it rained continuously so we didn’t explore the town; I’d like to visit again for strolling around and enjoying the food.

    We stayed here for our wedding anniversary.

    We stayed here as our Accommodation during a trip celebrating our 26th wedding anniversary, taking a break between activities in Toyooka and Tamba-Sasayama. It was our first stay, and we were very satisfied. The meals were delicious and more than we could finish, with appetizers and hot pot in addition to the buffet, featuring seasonal and local ingredients. Above all, as we often say lately, we wanted to dine in a “calm atmosphere,” and it was exactly that—quiet, with a view of the garden—so we were happy to enjoy our meal while relaxing and chatting. The complimentary drinks service after bathing was also great. One regret is that we didn’t arrive in time for the welcome service and couldn’t try the local sweets. We would love to stay again if we have the chance.

    Healthy Walks

    An ideal Accommodation for strolling around the ruins of Tamba-Sasayama Castle. Nearby, the Kawaramachi Tsumairi Merchant Houses line the streets, giving you a time-slip feeling, and some shops have been renovated and are now open for business. Around the castle ruins, you’ll also find local specialties such as “black soybean bread” made with plenty of black soybeans, as well as restaurants specializing in botan nabe (wild boar hot pot). Since dinner needs to be arranged locally, we recommend arriving early or bringing takeout. The Plan includes complimentary access to a shampoo bar and after-bath beer (soft drinks are also available), so the pre-bath lounge was lively. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of delicious options; you can even make your own individual hot pot, and freshly fried tempura is served, which showed how much effort the staff put in. We had previously stayed at an affiliated Hotel and found it very comfortable, so choosing this one was absolutely the right decision. We’ll definitely return.

    Relax and unwind at your leisure.

    I visited Sasayama for the first time on a weekday near the end of cherry blossom season. It’s a new Hotel, very clean, and I had a comfortable stay. I worked up a sweat in the Onsen, and the beer afterward was amazing! For dinner, since there were few guests using the restaurant, it wasn’t a half-buffet. Instead, they served a variety of dishes one by one, and the hot items were brought out piping hot. There was a mix of Japanese, Western, and Chinese options such as wild boar pasta and twice-cooked pork with spring cabbage. I enjoyed seasonal ingredients and local specialties until I was completely full. The final dessert portion was more than I could finish. The staff at the restaurant and front desk were very kind and welcoming. Even though I was traveling alone, it turned into a relaxing and enjoyable trip. When I got home in high spirits, I realized I had left something behind at the Hotel. When I contacted them, they responded immediately and it arrived safely. Thank you very much for all your help—I truly appreciate it. Thanks to all of your staff, I had a wonderful stay, and next time I’d like to visit again when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom.

    The best stay during my 11-day trip to Japan.

    We truly love this little inn. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the facilities are very thoughtful, including the shampoo bar and lounge. Dinner and breakfast are absolutely delicious—we already want to come back again.

    The meals are delicious.

    The meals were unquestionably delicious. However, even though the Hotel was nearly empty, I was surprised to be assigned a Room with a view of nothing but a wall outside the window. I had assumed that booking through IKYU would be a sure thing. When I asked at the front desk, they changed my Room, but I still don’t understand why—despite so many Rooms being available—they would place guests in one with the worst possible view. I believe the Plan was breakfast only and cost around 24,000 yen, so it wasn’t an extremely cheap rate. In the end they did change my Room, but it was small. The floor was vinyl sheet flooring that felt like something you’d find in a bathroom, and the wallpaper also seemed to be vinyl. Everything used low-cost modern materials, with almost no natural materials. The bed was hard and low. The chairs in the sofa set were so low they felt like floor chairs; they were uncomfortable, so I didn’t use them even once. It feels like such a waste given that it’s located in one of the best spots in historic Tamba-Sasayama. Well, since it’s part of a Business Hotel chain, maybe it can’t be helped. When I asked about having dinner, it was 7,000 yen per person including drinks, so for two people it added 14,000 yen. That made the total 38,000 yen. That said, the food was excellent with nothing to complain about, and since drinks were free-flow as well, this part truly deserves high praise—wonderful. The bath is indoor-only and new; if there are few guests it should be fine, but if fully booked I wondered whether that size could handle everyone. There is no sauna. I did think it was nice that you can have cold drinks, including beer, in the lounge after bathing. They also had small ice pops. These are my honest impressions.

    The Hotel had just opened and was very clean. There were welcome drinks and refreshments after the bath, so we never had to worry about drinks. They also provided samue loungewear and yukata, and the amenities even included socks. We could choose our pillow, and there was a basket for taking items to the bath—very thoughtful touches. Dinner was a buffet with timed seating, but we could relax and the food was delicious. The opening service meat dish tasted great. I expected something like a slightly upgraded Business Hotel, but I was very satisfied overall. The only disappointment was that the large public bath had just one large tub.

    The chair height is…

    Thank you for your support. I am very satisfied overall; however, while I can tolerate the low bed, the chair is also quite low, which makes it a little difficult to stand up. I would like to stay again.

    A Trip for a Middle-Aged Couple

    The staff greeted us with wonderful smiles, and the Hotel had a very calm, relaxing atmosphere. However, we were a little disappointed that one of the Hotel’s highlights—the Japanese-style guest room—had a bed and chairs that were too low, making it quite inconvenient to use.
