    We were very satisfied.

    We were extremely satisfied with everything—the Facility, the Room, the meals, the staff service, and the activities. It’s perfect for families with small children, but even our group of five adults fully enjoyed the activities. In particular, the coordination among the activity staff and between the activity staff and Hotel staff was excellent, making our stay very comfortable.

    Enjoy the full resort experience

    We stayed for two nights. The Room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. We stayed with our dog, but we couldn’t hear the neighboring dog from inside the Room, and our dog seemed to relax without any stress. The only disappointment was that there were no wide-size pet toilet pads. I also saw some large dogs—what did everyone do? We had brought a few, so we managed somehow, but it made us a bit anxious. We enjoyed both in-room dining and restaurant meals—they were delicious. Since it was bread-only, we would have liked some rice as well. Without going anywhere else for the pool or activities, we were able to fully enjoy the whole day here.

    We really enjoyed our stay.

    The guest room was spacious, and the kids were thrilled. The service was excellent, and we were happy that the staff greeted us often and spoke to us warmly during breakfast. There were plenty of places to play, so we had a great time. Activities require a Reservation, so if you don’t book early, you may not be able to join.

    Summer trip

    My wife and I visited to enjoy a summer-like getaway even though we didn’t have a summer vacation! Since it was still early in the season, it wasn’t crowded yet, and we were able to relax and take our time. We could take it easy at the pool, and the BBQ was hot but a lot of fun! The only downside—though it can’t be helped with so much nature around—was that there were some spider webs inside the Room, and we also saw a large spider in the pool changing Room. Other than that, everything was truly amazing! We’d love to stay again!

    Beautiful

    The Room and service are good. The bath is in the Room, but for some reason the drain smells of sulfur. The food is delicious, but it’s not kid-friendly. Dinner portions are small, and it would be helpful to have a bit more variety.

    Fun for kids and adults alike—everyone will be delighted!

    We stayed here with a toddler and an elementary school child. I believe the property promotes its activities, but we couldn’t use the kayaks because they were only available at one set time per day, and the adventure course requires a height of at least 120 cm (and also requires a Reservation). Without doing some research in advance, it felt like it might be hard to enjoy everything as expected. Our family borrowed pickleball equipment and played with bubbles and in the pool. Both dinner and breakfast were served in time slots, and you Reserve your dining time at check-in. Thanks to that, there was no crowding and we could enjoy our meals at a relaxed pace. Dinner was delicious from appetizers to the main course and dessert (the Spanish mackerel was especially amazing). As local residents ourselves, we also appreciated the farm-to-table focus and enjoyed the game dishes. The toddler menu and elementary school menu were different, but they kindly switched us to the elementary school menu for +1,100 yen. That helped avoid arguments about wanting the same meal as an older sibling, and it was great for our child who eats well. Both kids finished everything, so it must have been very tasty. Our course included a full bottle of wine, so they provided a wine cooler; however, staff poured only the first glass and after that it was self-serve. We expected this due to the season, but there were an incredible number of insects. The baby bed had small dead bugs scattered everywhere, and there were so many insects flying near the ceiling that we didn’t open it even once. The stairs up to the loft also had a lot of dust and dead bugs; we wiped them down with wet wipes before using them. There were even small spider webs in toilet corners—there’s probably no end to it—but since the Facility is new, this was a bit disappointing. There’s no doubt this is a place both adults and children can enjoy. Our kids asked to use the fireplace next time as well, so we made another Reservation for year-end during our stay. We’ll be back!

    Second stay with our dog

    We stayed with our dog on the Long Stay Plan. It was only one night, but we could use Doggies’ dog run for two days, and we could also use Mori-no-Yu Onsen on both days. We even received a parking voucher, so we were very satisfied!! However, Doggies and the Onsen are still a bit far away, so it would be great if there were an easier way to get around—such as using the cart path across the road for shuttle rounds or rentals. Since meals are served in the Room, it was also nice to enjoy breakfast without worrying about others. We’d love to do another long stay.

    Everything is perfect.

    This was my first time staying here. First of all, thank you to all the staff! The hospitality was excellent, and it made for a truly comfortable trip! Not only that, but I was completely satisfied with everything—the Room and the meals—so it turned into a wonderful long vacation. There were so many pool facilities and activities that one night wasn’t enough, so I’ll definitely be back. To all the staff, thank you very much!!

    I had a great time.

    The Room was spotless, and there were so many activities that we had such a great time we wished we had more hours in the day. Being able to go canoeing with our dog will be a lifelong memory. Breakfast was served in the Room, and to be honest I expected something like salad, ham and eggs, and bread—but it was far more abundant and higher quality than we could finish, and my daughter and wife were both very satisfied. It’s a little inconvenient that you need to drive to get to the dog run at Doggy’s Island, but this is an Accommodation you’ll definitely want to return to. All of the staff were wonderful as well, and we truly felt relaxed throughout our stay. We’ll be back.

    Although I stayed for only one night, it was such a wonderful Hotel that I truly wished I could have stayed longer. The Room was spacious and spotless, with relaxing spaces thoughtfully arranged throughout, allowing me to fully enjoy a calm and soothing atmosphere. The views of the garden and pool from the windows and balcony were also absolutely beautiful. From the interior design to the amenities, everything reflected great attention to detail and a sense of luxury. In particular, the fireplace in the Room was easy to use and made the ambiance even more exceptional. There were also plenty of on-site activities, so it seems like you could enjoy your stay for several days without getting bored. I was also happy that there was a beautiful pool and a sauna. Breakfast was excellent as well. It combined a buffet with freshly prepared dishes brought to the table, and most of the ingredients were locally sourced. There were also unique menu items you don’t often see at typical Hotel breakfasts, and every dish I tried was outstanding. Above all, what warmed my heart most was the kindness of all the staff. This stay was to celebrate my birthday, but since I wasn’t planning to have dinner at the Hotel, they told me it would be difficult to provide their usual birthday dessert plate. The Hotel itself was already more than wonderful, so I didn’t mind at all—but one staff member who had been corresponding with me in advance went out of their way to prepare a special surprise anyway. Knowing that they came up with an idea themselves and made it happen with such heartfelt hospitality truly moved me. It made this amazing stay an even more special memory. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

    Check-in was not smooth.

    Since it was Golden Week, it may have been unavoidable, but check-in took far too long and left me exhausted. The Facility was new and very clean. Also, if possible, I would have liked indoor slippers.

    We stayed here for the first time with our child.

    We stayed during Golden Week. We made a Reservation because the Reviews were good. At first, we mistakenly tried to check in at Docky’s Island and drove further ahead. There is no drop-off area, so you park in the parking lot and then go to the front desk. There was a brief explanation at check-in, but I wish the directions to our Room had been more detailed—ideally with the route marked on a map. We got lost and it was tough walking around with luggage and kids. I recommend making Reservations for activities in advance. They seem popular, so there probably won’t be any availability on the day (unless it’s a weekday). The Room was spacious and felt like a standalone house. It’s new and clean-looking, but housekeeping was not great: lint dust, hair in the bathtub, and hair plus sticker trash left on the loft light. There were also small spiders here and there—something to note if you don’t like them. For dinner, kids get a one-plate meal while adults have a course meal, so there is a time gap. The staff work hard, but service is slow and we had to wait for dishes to come out. Also, portions were small for elementary school kids (a one-plate hamburger steak and pasta). But serving them adult meals wouldn’t work either—the seasoning feels too grown-up (more like food meant to pair with alcohol). Breakfast included a buffet plus a main dish with egg dishes along with sausages or bacon in generous portions, so both adults and kids were satisfied. The kids enjoyed the playground equipment in the courtyard. Since it’s artificial turf, it may be slippery. The pool was already open too—though it was freezing cold. All of the staff were kind and wonderful. Thank you very much for taking care of us.

    An Accommodation to Look Forward To

    I usually stay at Doggy’s Island with my dog, but this time I stayed at this newly opened Accommodation. Compared to Doggy’s Island: About half of the areas are off-limits to dogs, and dogs are not allowed in the restaurant. It may be more focused on experiences for families with children. The interior was new and clean. The decor was stylish and similar to the newer Rooms at Doggy’s Island. Our stay was on the second floor, and it was tough to carry our luggage upstairs ourselves. Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant, but I felt bad leaving my dog alone in the Room, so I would be very happy if there were a meal service that could be enjoyed inside the dog-friendly Room. All of the staff were kind. Next time, I’d like to try SUP with my dog.

    A celebratory stay for passing an exam

    We stayed in a Deluxe Suite to celebrate our eldest son being accepted to his preferred high school. As a family of five, having a spacious Room was wonderful. On the way to the lodge, the mountain road had us repeatedly asking, “Is this really the right way?”—but once we arrived, it opened up into a wide, beautiful area and was truly great. 　Since it has only just opened, everything inside was very clean and well maintained. The staff were also courteous and attentive. For bathing, we recommend Mori-no-Yu, about one minute away by car. We received tickets at check-in (it’s best to confirm details about Mori-no-Yu tickets when making your Reservation). The open-air baths were the highlight and were excellent. In summer, walking there from the lodge also sounds nice. 　We had dinner in the dining room, and they even prepared a congratulatory plate for our son—he looked genuinely happy. Thank you very much. The dinner was flawless, and our whole family was extremely satisfied. Our daughter is taking her high school entrance exams this year as well, and she seriously said that if she passes too, she wants us to bring her back here next year—that’s how delicious it must have been. 　We also had breakfast in the same dining room. It was a one-plate set plus sausages and thick-cut bacon—an impressive amount of food. We couldn’t believe everyone finished it, and everything tasted great; once again we were all very satisfied. 　As a new Accommodation, everything was spotless and very comfortable throughout our stay. My wife kept worrying that with such stylish design indoors and out—so much indirect lighting and so many slats—cleaning must be difficult, and that with carefully selected amenities on display there might even be concerns about theft. It’s probably unnecessary worry on her part; I think it simply reflects how much she wants to come back—and hopes the staff will keep up their hard work so we can feel the same excitement next time as well. We could really sense that Kotaryusawa continues to evolve even further from here. We’re looking forward to visiting again next year. 　It’s also an Accommodation we’d love to visit in summer. 　Thank you sincerely to all of your staff members.

    It had a wonderful a...

    It had a wonderful atmosphere that made us feel like we were abroad! We chose the plan with breakfast and dinner included. Both meals were delicious, and we were very satisfied. We couldn’t do the aerial adventure or canoeing on the day we arrived, but we did them the next morning and had a great time. Unfortunately, we couldn’t join the workshop because it seems you need to make a Reservation in advance. The nearby Morinoyu hot spring was also great. The pool looked fantastic, so we’d love to come back during summer vacation.

    Stayed with my dog t...

    Stayed with my dog to use the Doggies Dog Run. The customer service was not bad, but as others have mentioned, there was inconsistency in the staff's responses, which made me feel uneasy about the differences in their replies to other guests. Additionally, after returning home and reviewing the facility guide, I realized that amenities like lotion, which were supposed to be provided, were completely missing. This was very disappointing. I hope they can work with a professional mindset. Regarding the facility: when used by three people and utilizing the daybed at night, it is concerning that the glass door cannot be locked securely. Locking from the living room side essentially traps whoever is sleeping in the daybed room—this seems problematic. I would prefer a hotel where every stay feels pleasant rather than leaving it up to chance whether it's good or bad.

    It was unclear whether there was hospitality or not...

    I had made a reservation for the end of July, but had to cancel the day before due to my child contracting an infectious disease. The staff's response at that time was excellent, so I decided to rebook for September. We arrived just after 1 PM, completed the pre-check-in process, and left our luggage with the staff before heading to the pool until we could enter our room at 3 PM. The pool is not heated and very cold, but with a jacuzzi and sauna available, we were able to enjoy ourselves comfortably. The changing rooms were clean, there was an air pump for inflating floats, and drinks or light snacks could be ordered from poolside. There was also a small splash pond near the athletic area. It seemed like most guests spent their time at the pool until they could access their rooms at 3 PM. However, if you arrive much earlier than check-in during non-summer seasons when activities are unavailable during that time frame, you might find yourself limited to just walking around while waiting—so plan accordingly. The room itself had a wonderful resort-like design and was spacious and comfortable; however, shortly after arriving we encountered an enormous spider about 30 cm in size inside the closet! It caused quite a commotion until staff promptly came to remove it. Even afterward though, crickets and pill bugs occasionally appeared on the floor—a reminder of how close this location is to nature—but those who are not fond of insects should take note. The athletic area was well-sized for families; my timid son enjoyed it thanks in part to encouraging words from one of the instructors who helped make his experience fun. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious overall; however: - During dinner service: My child's main dish took quite some time as it seemed forgotten initially. - Additional drink orders also took longer than expected—possibly due either oversight or delays—and when addressed by us later arrived promptly along with apologies. - One peculiar incident involved receiving only about one-quarter glass worth Mandarin orange juice (unlike fuller servings earlier). When questioned politely whether such reduced quantity served correctly reflected standard portion sizes offered here? Staff responded oddly saying "If dissatisfied no charge applies." Despite confusion surrounding reply given then upon checkout billing still included full price charged against said item consumed previously! While certain male restaurant team members handling operations lacked professionalism needed ensuring smooth guest experiences throughout stay likewise another instance involving luggage cart usage led similarly puzzling interactions elsewhere among same group working onsite overall impression remains positive regarding facilities provided here albeit improvements necessary addressing noted concerns raised above moving forward hopefully soon enough rectified accordingly!

    The pool was amazing!

    The kids who love the pool were delighted. The water in the morning was cool and refreshing. The Facility was clean, the meals were delicious, and we would love to stay again. We didn’t use the activities, but others seemed to be enjoying them. Doggy's Island is also nearby, making it a great place for a full day of fun. Since it’s surrounded by nature, there were quite a few insects. It would have been nice if insect nets or repellents were provided in the Room like at resort hotels in Okinawa.

    It was a wonderful stay.

    We visited for the first time with our two beloved dogs and a family of three. We stayed with a breakfast-included plan in a dog-friendly standard twin room with a daybed option. Before our stay, we consulted about breakfast, and we were delighted that our requests were accommodated. The stylish breakfast was hearty, nutritious, and delicious—thank you so much for your thoughtful service! The facility was very clean and comfortable, with plenty of activities to enjoy. Being close to Kotariru Onsen Mori no Yu and Doggies Island allowed us to have an enjoyable day. We were also moved by the breathtaking starry sky during our evening walk. We would love to visit again—thank you!
