    Overpriced

    I’m sorry. I also wrote this on Google, but I’m a professional. The portions are far too small, and you should urgently review how you cook the rice as a team. It may be that the washing is insufficient or the rice is being stored poorly. Even if you are particular about it, something fundamental is being done wrong. Of course I know Fukushima rice is delicious. However, this isn’t a matter of personal taste. It wasn’t as bad as the complimentary rice at an ie-kei ramen shop, but it was the least tasty rice I’ve had in the past year—both at breakfast and dinner. I recommend that your team taste-test it and work on improvements together.

    Thank you very much for your hospitality the other day. I’m sorry my review is late. At this Accommodation, we were worried about making check-in on time due to unexpected traffic, but they handled it with incredible kindness and flexibility. We told them—though we didn’t know exactly when we would arrive—that we really wanted to have dinner, and they warmly replied, “We’ll be waiting.” In the end, we made it in time and were able to enjoy the meal without delay. It wasn’t an overly luxurious kind of service, but rather thoughtful hospitality that anticipated what guests might need—whether in the Room, the bath, or the meals. There was also live entertainment: a staff member performed a singing-and-guitar set during dinner. We had no idea there would be live music, so it was a wonderful surprise. Both dinner and breakfast were outstanding, featuring seasonal ingredients and local specialties unique to the area. From presentation to flavor, everything was beyond words and truly enjoyable. I only wish we could have checked in earlier so we could have enjoyed more of the Accommodation. We would love to visit again.

    Everything was perfect.

    The meals were not only delicious, but also beautifully presented with lovely tableware, and chatting with the staff was a pleasure—an extremely satisfying time. The Onsen water quality was excellent and left my skin smooth, and I could also enjoy the Hana-no-Yu bath for a different atmosphere, making it two days of pure Onsen relaxation. The bed was very comfortable and the Room felt clean and well kept; this is a highly recommended Accommodation.

    An Accommodation with Delicious Meals That Look as Good as They Taste

    This was my first time visiting Bandai-Atami Onsen. I chose this Accommodation as a place where I could enjoy delicious food and relax at a leisurely pace. This Accommodation is a sister property of Hana no Yu, and guests can also use the Onsen at Hana no Yu. So I went there right away to soak in the hot water. It’s a large property with a lively atmosphere, and there were many families with children. In complete contrast, Asakaso had many older guests and felt quiet and calm—perfect for my taste. The all-inclusive lounge offered a wide variety of drinks, and I used it many times. The dinner I had been looking forward to was outstanding—from the tableware to the presentation—and every dish was delicious and deeply satisfying. The explanations of each dish were also very attentive. It was also great that I could choose drinks to match the meal myself: beer to start, sake with the sashimi, and red wine with the meat dishes. I accidentally left something behind in my Room, but they kindly called me and even sent it to me—I truly appreciated their thoughtful help.

    Casual and relaxing

    The lounge offers a wide variety of drinks and light snacks, and the meals are thoughtfully prepared (such as broth served from a siphon). The tableware is beautiful, and everything tastes great. If you walk to the sister property, you can enjoy an open-air bath on the scale of a large spa facility. The guest rooms are also spotless and well maintained.

    We were impressed by the delicious meals, the well-stocked complimentary drinks and snacks, the free-flowing Onsen, the comfortable Room, and the cheerful, kind service from all the staff. We were able to relax in a calm setting while enjoying both the meals and the Onsen.

    A Memorable Journey

    Thank you very much for all your kindness and support. This stay was to celebrate my elderly mother’s birthday as well as her discharge from the hospital. From the moment we arrived, you welcomed us with warm smiles, and we were deeply moved by how carefully you assisted my mother in her wheelchair. You also prepared a step-free Room that she could use smoothly even with a wheelchair. Although we had almost given up on the idea of her bathing, she was able to use the private bath. We used an automatic wheelchair lift on the stairs leading to the bathing area, and your staff kindly helped by lifting and assisting my mother, which truly touched our hearts. The meals were delicious, and we also enjoyed the tasteful tableware and presentation. We visited thinking this might possibly be our last family trip together, but thanks to everyone’s wonderful hospitality from the heart, it became an unforgettable journey for us. Thank you again so much. We are sincerely grateful.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    It seemed fairly busy over the weekend, but it wasn’t noisy, and the bath was almost like having it to ourselves. The all-inclusive plan was great, with a wide selection of alcoholic drinks. If I had to mention something, the bath was a bit small, and it felt like one staff member was handling almost everything, so we sometimes had to wait—perhaps they were short-staffed. However, they were very pleasant, so it didn’t leave us feeling uncomfortable. We also wanted to visit the baths at an affiliated Hotel, but the wind was strong and snow was blowing around, so we decided against it this time. We’d like to come again in a warmer season.

    I decided to enjoy a relaxing Multiple Night Stay during the New Year. The meals here are absolutely delicious! Both breakfast and dinner on the first and second nights had completely different menus, and the sashimi on the first night was particularly memorable. At first glance, I thought the dishware seemed a bit plain for New Year's, but when I opened it, it was filled with luxurious items like pufferfish and sea urchin. The pufferfish was especially exquisite. Every dish was carefully prepared and delicious—both days' simmered dishes were equally outstanding, while the steak, abalone, desserts, and everything else were simply perfect. I was also delighted to enjoy their signature bagna càuda. As others have mentioned, the all-inclusive service is very comprehensive and seems to improve every year. Being able to use the large public bath at a nearby affiliated Hotel is another great perk. All staff members are very pleasant, but in particular, the main male and female staff consistently paid attention to guests' needs, making my stay comfortable. There were various New Year events and services as well—I had a relaxing yet fulfilling holiday here. Thank you very much!

    I had a relaxing stay. It is a cozy accommodation, but the meals were absolutely fantastic. Not only the meat and fish, but also the small vegetable dishes were all surprisingly delicious. The breakfast was impressive as well, with each dish carefully prepared, and even the egg for the rice had a special touch of quality.     I had a relaxing time!

    Visited Fukushima with my mother in her 80s for a grave visit. It was my first time at Bandai Atami Onsen in about 10 years. The quiet and very warming Onsen allowed us to truly relax. Staying for just one night felt like such a waste. From alcoholic drinks to juice, snacks, post-bath ice cream, late-night cup noodles, and even morning bread—all were all-you-can-drink and eat! The meals were served on beautiful plates that stimulated our appetite. Though I thought I might not be able to finish everything, I ended up enjoying both dinner and breakfast completely! Next time, I’d love to have a Multiple Night Stay for an even more relaxing experience. The broth was incredibly delicious!

    The meals are delicious.

    This accommodation was often featured on YouTube, so I decided to make a reservation after watching it. The all-inclusive option was also very appealing. The room was clean and comfortable to stay in. If I may suggest, it would be nice if the sofa were placed in the middle of the room; currently, there is something like a sofa in the corner of the room. The bath is alkaline and leaves your skin feeling smooth. Massage chairs are available for free use. The meals were delicious; while many accommodations offer great dinners, this place also put great effort into breakfast, which was excellent. However, since it's all-inclusive, it would be nice if beer or similar drinks were available even in the morning.

    Comfortable Accommodation

    This year, among the seven Onsen Ryokans I stayed at, Asakaso was the best. From the person who greeted us at the car to those who served our meals, even with a small number of staff members, including the night reception staff, everyone was genuinely pleasant and welcoming. Even the staff from their sister accommodation next door showed great care—when I was returning to my accommodation in light rain with a bath towel over my head, they kindly brought me an umbrella and lent it to me. Everyone displayed thoughtful gestures effortlessly. The room was clean, and I was satisfied with the meals as well. One thing that caught my attention was a locker in the bath area in the morning—when I tried to put my belongings into the top left locker, there seemed to be a lingering sweaty smell (probably from earlier that morning), which felt slightly unpleasant. Also, if there had been an open-air bath in their Onsen facilities, it would have been perfect! It has become an accommodation I'd love to visit again.

    The meals were delicious.

    The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were incredibly delicious. The dining area is a regular restaurant, but the presentation and attention to flavor were exceptional, leaving me very satisfied. I particularly enjoyed the pumpkin soup, bagna cauda, and the broth for the sea bream chazuke. The room was clean and provided an extraordinary experience. The onsen is small but I was able to enjoy it leisurely as there was no one else when I bathed. The private bath option is also a great feature. It’s nice that drinks are included in the price. The staff's service was polite; I wanted to express my gratitude at checkout but missed the timing, so I’m sharing my review here instead. It had been a while since my last onsen visit, and this stay reminded me of how important it is for me to choose accommodation with delicious meals. I’m glad to have made unforgettable memories during this wonderful stay. Thank you very much!

    Accommodation with Excellent Dining Options for Maximum Satisfaction

    We stayed as a family of four at an Onsen accommodation located slightly away from the tourist spots and off the main road. Since we stayed on a Sunday, it was not crowded, and although the bath was not large, the natural hot spring water made our skin smooth and felt wonderful. Above all, both dinner and breakfast were incredibly delicious, with each carefully prepared dish being explained in detail when served, making it even more enjoyable. The staff were always smiling and provided kind and attentive service, which added to our pleasant experience. Unfortunately, we had to leave a bit early due to my son's schedule the next day. However, when they noticed my son had forgotten something, they contacted us promptly. When we asked them to send it home via cash-on-delivery shipping, they kindly agreed without hesitation—this was extremely helpful. Thank you for your assistance despite being busy! The only downside was that some of the snacks (like rice crackers or nuts) we ate upon arrival were slightly stale; however, everything else exceeded our expectations. Thank you for taking care of us!

    A cozy hotel with excellent rooms, service, cuisine, and Onsen. My husband especially enjoyed the all-inclusive drinks, indulging in highballs. The public bath is a bit small but never crowded due to the limited number of rooms.

    Delicious meals

    A cozy hotel with a small entrance and a slightly narrow lounge that doubles as the lobby. At first, I was worried it might have been the wrong choice, but the room was spacious and clean, which was reassuring. The private Onsen bath is relatively large, while the main Onsen bath is about twice its size but still compact. The water temperature was perfect; however, it was a bit disappointing that there wasn’t an open-air bath. We heard that guests could also use the large baths and pool at its sister hotel "Hana no Yu," so we decided to check it out. It’s a bigger hotel with larger baths offering various types of Onsen experiences. However, Hana no Yu had many families with children making it noisy; in contrast, we found ourselves preferring Asakaso's smaller and quieter Onsen for a more relaxing experience. **Meals** The dishes were perfectly seasoned—not too strong or too light—and absolutely delicious. The presentation of each dish on beautifully colored plates made them visually appealing as well as tasty. There was even a touch of entertainment in how some dishes were served, adding to the enjoyment (I won’t spoil it by sharing photos). Breakfast included eggs served in an adorable basket. With all-inclusive service available, this place might be great for those who enjoy alcohol since you can even take drinks back to your room! (For us non-drinkers though, having Japanese green tea or roasted tea bags would have been nice.) Although there are only a few staff members working here, they were all kind and provided excellent service. It would be helpful if one extra towel per person could be placed in each room—it felt slightly inconvenient during morning wash-ups (though paper towels were provided).

    Highly Satisfying Accommodation

    Room assignment plan reserved for 3 generations, 4 people. Upon entering the lobby, you can freely enjoy draft beer, local sake, fruit liqueurs like peach and mango, as well as soft drinks. A thoughtful selection of snacks such as nuts, dried fruits, and rice crackers is also available. Amenities are chosen from a corner in the lobby where you pick what you need. The quality of the toothbrushes among the amenities was impressive and showed attention to detail. The room was simple yet modern Japanese-style with a comfortable space to relax. I particularly liked the semi-sofa-like chair by the window. The wooden-themed bathroom area was stylish and clean without any concerns about dirtiness. The meals we were looking forward to were carefully prepared with excellent presentation and taste; even the tableware was beautiful. During meals, drinks could be freely taken from the adjacent lobby space. While some might prefer staff assistance for drink service, I appreciated being able to get them myself without waiting or inconvenience. For dessert during dinner, we enjoyed sea bream ochazuke made with bonito broth poured using a siphon coffee maker—absolutely delicious! After dinner while relaxing in the lobby again with drinks, a staff member kindly brought over a lap blanket (to ensure modesty when wearing yukata). Such thoughtful gestures were truly remarkable! At night mini-sized cup noodles appeared; they quickly ran out but were promptly restocked (the same attentiveness applied when bread was offered in the morning). Breakfast was equally satisfying with carefully selected ingredients served in just-right portions. There were also complimentary massage chairs and foot massagers available for use—despite being compact accommodation overall—the attentive service left an excellent impression!

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    The hospitality and service were excellent. I stayed here with my sister during a trip to see cherry blossoms. The onsen and meals were both outstanding. Although I have stayed in Bandai Atami several times, this was my first time at this accommodation. The all-inclusive plan was fantastic—I ended up drinking quite a lot! I would love to stay here again not only during cherry blossom season but also whenever I visit Aizu.
