    Surrounded by wonderful staff...

    We stayed to celebrate a birthday with the “Anniversary Plan.” The Hotel was clean, and the staff were friendly, making it a very comfortable place to stay. However, we were disappointed at dinner: although the Plan included champagne, this was not properly communicated among the staff. We were offered an aperitif and ordered a small bottle of champagne and a large bottle of sparkling water; after we had been drinking for a while, a staff member came and told us that the Plan included a full-size bottle of champagne and asked us to choose one. If a full-size bottle is included in the Plan, we would have liked to be informed before ordering. Also, Shinshu Premium Beef was served as the main dish, but it contained too much fat for us and was difficult to finish. The birthday cake served at the end had heavy buttercream, so it was hard to eat without coffee. We feel that if the “Anniversary Plan” were changed to include either a small bottle of champagne for a toast or two glasses instead, and if the cake used a lighter, tastier cream, it would become an even more popular Plan. We would love to visit again when we can see the starry sky at its best. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    Celebrating a 77th Birthday

    We stayed here to celebrate my father’s 77th birthday—he loves the mountains. The staff’s thoughtfulness was outstanding: when we tried to take photos outside, someone even came out from the front desk to speak with us, and during dinner they offered warm congratulatory words. When we left, they saw us off until we were out of sight. The food was excellent, served at just the right pace so we could enjoy each dish calmly. In addition to alcohol pairings, there were also non-alcoholic wines and champagne that matched the meal well, which made my father—who can no longer drink alcohol—very happy. To top it off, they surprised us with a large cake with a message for dessert as part of the celebration, and he was truly delighted. The bath is not an Onsen and the amenities were simple, but everything else—including the Room and Facility—was clean and well maintained. We had a wonderful time. Thank you very much.

    A Hotel Overflowing with Warm Hospitality

    Because I often combine hiking with a Hotel stay, I’ve used many Hotels around Nagano Prefecture. This time, I stayed for the first time at this Hotel near the trailhead of Mt. Kurofu, which I frequently visit for hiking. The exterior and interior design were very tasteful, and the atmosphere was wonderful. From the moment I stepped inside, everything—from the lobby to the Room—was spotless and simply lovely. And that wasn’t all: the evening course dinner was excellent in presentation, flavor, and overall composition. I was truly impressed by the chef’s skill and enjoyed a relaxed meal. The morning half-buffet was also a great selection, with items like salmon, olives, and avocado dip that paired perfectly with sandwiches. But what stood out most was the staff’s hospitality. One person came over naturally after dinner for a friendly chat and made our time even more enjoyable. Another kindly turned off some of the outdoor lights when we went out to look at the stars at night, lent us a lantern, and shared recommended stargazing spots as well as tips for taking photos. And at checkout, someone even saw us off all the way to our car. Nothing felt forced—each person’s manner felt genuinely welcoming in such a natural way. I was truly moved. It’s rare to have such an outstanding stay like this; it really made me feel how much comes down to people. A staff member who guided us for stargazing also recommended visiting during autumn when you can see a sea of clouds seasonally—so I definitely want to come back again!

    Make unforgettable memories.

    The location, the hospitality, the sense of spatial design—everything about this place can be summed up in one word: “the best.” Perhaps it was the manager or an executive in charge, but they spoke to us warmly at both dinner and breakfast. At checkout, they even saw us off together with the staff. It has become a place we absolutely want to return to. These days, buffet-style dining is common, but dinner here is served as a course meal. When our child was younger, a buffet was more convenient; now that they’re older and can enjoy the same meal as adults, we were truly grateful to be able to enjoy an elegant dinner together. It’s certainly a bit out of the way, but it’s a Hotel well worth going out of your way for—whether as a reward after hiking or as part of sightseeing. We will definitely come again.

    The meals are close to the worst.

    I was disappointed with dinner. We had a 7:00 p.m. seating, but when I arrived a little before 7:00, I was told to take a numbered ticket. It was the first time I’ve ever been made to wait at the entrance and be seated in order. After being seated, it took 10 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order, and even after the drinks arrived, the appetizer didn’t come until 7:30. The food itself was average, but service remained slow throughout, and the meal ended up taking two hours. Rather than enjoying a relaxed dinner, it felt like two hours of frustration and waiting. Breakfast was also the worst level I’ve experienced, including at Business Hotels. It was described as a main plate plus a half-buffet, but the main plate was three large slices of bacon, bland scrambled eggs with no seasoning, and a hash brown. There were no condiments on the table; only after asking did they bring packet ketchup, and for salt and pepper I was told to go to the buffet table myself. The buffet offered only salad and bread/rice staples. There seemed to be plenty of staff at both meals, but they were extremely inefficient. I went skiing, but the ski lockers can only be used from check-in until check-out. Since there is clearly downtime when they are unused, they should extend access on one side or the other. The Room had a tea set but no glasses for drinks brought in (such as alcohol), even though they sell them in the shop. If guests are expected to use “sanitized” bathroom cups instead, that’s unacceptable. There were free drinks in the lounge area for a limited time as well, but overall it felt like cost-cutting across everything. The building itself is clean and the Room isn’t bad, which makes all of this especially disappointing.

    We had an enjoyable trip.

    We stayed here during the cold winter season for a ski trip. The stylish and luxurious building, along with the exquisite French dinner and vegetable-rich breakfast, allowed us to completely forget about daily life and fully refresh. We also enjoyed spending time at the café corner and alcohol counter. As the climate was quite dry, we used a humidifier at full capacity and turned off the heating to stay comfortable.

    The restaurant offers excellent meals.

    Everything was satisfying. The atmosphere of the second-floor lounge and bar was particularly wonderful. The meals felt worth more than their price, with beautifully crafted presentations and high-quality flavors reminiscent of a renowned restaurant. Each dish had a perfectly balanced touch of acidity, creating a refreshing harmony. The ingredients were excellent, making me want to try other menu items as well. The demeanor of the staff was also very pleasant and welcoming.

    Great value for money

    Dinner was delicious, the Hotel is new, and the value for money is great. The staff were friendly, but one dinner staff member stayed at one table for a long time, talking loudly.

    Night Sky

    Stayed on 10/18 with the main purpose of seeing the sea of clouds. Unfortunately, we couldn't enjoy the night view due to rain, but they provided a slideshow indoors as an alternative. Although we were worried about the sea of clouds, we were able to see it successfully the next morning (our first time!). The staff's service was excellent. From the breakfast restaurant, we could also catch a glimpse of Mt. Fuji. We would like to consider visiting again before it snows.

    Simple, cozy, and comfortable.

    The interior and Room were simple and clean. I felt the amenities were a bit limited. It would have been nice to have moisturizing products available in the bathroom. I visited in mid-September, and although the heating was not on, perhaps due to climate differences, the Room was extremely dry—so much so that even a humidifier couldn't keep up. Therefore, I think having more moisturizing products would be helpful. Also, there was coffee provided in the Room, but it would be great if tea could also be available (as I cannot drink coffee due to a sensitive stomach). Alternatively, it would be appreciated if tea bags could be requested at the front desk. For dinner, I had a French course meal which was all delicious; the meat was of excellent quality and very satisfying. As for breakfast, it was slightly disappointing that there were no Japanese side dishes offered. The staff members were friendly and responded with warm smiles, making for a pleasant stay. I look forward to visiting again!

    I used it for a ski ...

    I used it for a ski trip. The Hotel was very clean, and the food was delicious. The staff at the front desk were very accommodating, and I had a great time. The ski resort is adjacent, which was very helpful for those with children. I would like to use it again.

    Takamine Mountain Hotel

    The facility was very clean and the staff were very kind. I was very happy to be able to see the sea of clouds. However, it was disappointing that the food at the restaurant, including the soup, main dish, and after-meal coffee, was all lukewarm. The meat and salmon were delicious, but they were lukewarm. Also, there was coffee in the room, but it would be even better if there was tea or something else. It was a nice hotel rich in nature.
