Thank you for a wonderful stay.
A few years ago, we stayed here after making a Reservation through a different travel agency. It was our first time staying at an all-inclusive Accommodation, and I ended up drinking a bit too much—so much so that I couldn’t even eat breakfast the next morning due to a hangover. At that time there was no private sauna yet, but this time, since we planned to use the sauna, I wanted to be in top condition—so I held back a little on the unlimited drinks (laugh) and enjoyed myself. I expected the sauna to be good from the moment we made the Reservation, but it far exceeded my imagination. To be honest, if I write too positive of a Review, it might become even harder to get a Reservation in the future—but it’s stylish and spotless, and everything provided is thoughtfully selected with nothing missing or excessive. Unlike my local home sauna, there are no regulars saving seats and no rude guests splashing water however they like. With zero stress, I could relax at my own pace—and it truly made me happy. This time we visited as a couple, but it also seems perfect for a girls’ trip or a family getaway with sauna time. We arrived early because we wanted to use the day-use bathing before check-in. The front desk staff were all wonderfully considerate—thank you for looking after our luggage and everything else. Thanks to you, we were able to enjoy a very comfortable stay. Dinner was served as a course meal, and we fully enjoyed Yamagata’s delicious food along with drinks. The service staff were also very pleasant. There was also an amazing hangover-prevention drink: dashi broth with pickled plum added—something you sip while drinking alcohol. It was truly delicious, and I’m going to try copying it at home during evening drinks. Spending quiet time around the nighttime bonfire while enjoying drinks from the bar also felt special and wonderfully out of the ordinary. This time, learning from last time’s mistake, we went to bed early and woke up early—so we were able to enjoy breakfast properly as well. There were many Yamagata specialties such as tama-konnyaku and imoni stew. The freshly made omelet was prepared efficiently and tasted outstanding. When we stayed there were many young couples around us, giving it the feel of an adult-friendly Accommodation where you can relax slowly. Thank you for such an amazing experience. We’ll visit again as a reward for ourselves.

Nothing but great things
I was satisfied with everything—the Facilities for spending time in the Hotel, the beer garden and campfire, the way the staff spoke, and the food presentation and portions. It’s a Hotel I would like to stay at again.

This was our second ...
This was our second stay at an all-inclusive Accommodation. It’s about a 20-minute walk from the nearest station, and along the way there’s a well-known soba restaurant in Tendo. When we arrived 30 minutes before check-in, the lobby was already crowded with guests. After completing the procedures, we explored the Accommodation. The building seems to have been renovated, but everything inside is clean and you can tell they’ve paid attention to the interior design. There’s a bar, and it looks great to step out into the courtyard and enjoy local craft beer (it was extremely hot that day, so there weren’t many people using it). We were able to enter our Room at 14:55, so we dropped off our luggage and headed to the large public bath. The indoor bath didn’t seem to be free-flowing hot spring water and was quite lukewarm; the open-air bath was hotter, but the water felt wonderful and left my skin smooth. After bathing, we enjoyed long-awaited beer and wine at the bar mentioned earlier. It’s a calm space with wooden décor where you can truly relax. From 16:00 there’s a craft-beer tasting comparison, so it suddenly got very busy... Some of the beers in the lounge are different from those at the bar as well. Dinner is served as a course meal with free-flow drinks. I mainly had sake, while my husband enjoyed cocktails made with liqueurs he likes. The appetizer set featuring Yamagata traditional vegetables and rustic prosciutto left a strong impression—I thought it might also be nice with just a little honey drizzled on top. For a late-night snack from 21:00, they offer bite-sized chilled “niku soba” as well. Since we went slowly, the first round had already finished... but soon after, a second round came out. It tasted great, and I could see why it’s popular. When we stopped by the bar again, their cream soda (non-alcoholic) was incredibly popular—three staff members were busy serving nonstop. I ordered whisky and gin from Asahi Town in Yamagata Prefecture, and we enjoyed them together in the lounge—very satisfied with highballs and gin sodas unlike anything I’d tried before. Early in the morning, I was able to use one of private open-air baths that I couldn’t visit the day before; enjoying sunrise light and breeze felt wonderful. An 11:00 check-out is also great for taking things slowly."""

I fully enjoyed my summer vacation with an Onsen and beer.
I wanted a slightly special Onsen trip for my hard-earned summer vacation, and this is the place I found. It was my first time staying at an all-inclusive Accommodation, and it was fantastic. After soaking in the Onsen, my spouse and I enjoyed a tasting of five different craft beers. It was great to be able to try small amounts of various kinds. There were also light snacks available, which was reassuring for someone like me who likes having something to nibble on with drinks—I could enjoy as much as I wanted (without spoiling dinner). The mini rusks at Tsukikoma STAND were so good that I ended up buying a bunch at the gift shop on the way home (lol). The food was also excellent across the board, especially dishes featuring Yamagata ingredients. The staff member who served dinner explained everything clearly, and the timing was perfect. I also appreciated that alcoholic drinks at dinner were included in the all-inclusive plan. There were several types of sake, so we mainly enjoyed sake with dinner. Regarding amenities mentioned in other Reviews: I agree it would be nice if they were a bit more complete. IKYU’s basic information indicated that body towels/sponges were available, so I didn’t bring my own—but there weren’t any in reality. If it had been marked as unavailable, I would have brought mine… I’d appreciate it if you could reconsider the amenities provided or correct the listing on IKYU. Other than that, everything was wonderful, and I’d love to come back to relax with beer and enjoy the Onsen again. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

Beer tastes great after an Onsen bath.
Sorry for the ordinary Review. The craft beer after an Onsen bath is delicious. Beer is served in the reception lobby and at the in-house bar counter, so you can enjoy different craft beers. I realized later that they also seem to offer Akiu craft beer as well. (I missed the lemon beer.) In the evening, it’s wonderful to cool off in the courtyard and have a beer after your bath. At dinner, you can enjoy not only beer but also sake and wine. Their sake selection is excellent and pairs well with the food—you can do things like having fish with sake and meat with a stout (dark beer). The baths are spacious and never crowded, so you can soak without stress. My wife and daughter used the private bath, but said they couldn’t wash properly there, so I deducted points for that. Overall, it was a very satisfying Hotel.

It was excellent.
We stayed here before and returned a few years later, and it was still a wonderful Accommodation. The property was clean, the food was excellent, and the staff were very attentive.

Artistic Accommodation
I chose Tendo City as my base to visit Yamadera. As it’s known as a shogi town, it was refreshing to see shogi-themed objects everywhere, starting at Tendo Station. The Accommodation felt like an art museum from the entrance, and the interior design throughout the building was sophisticated and created a wonderful atmosphere. This time there was a craft beer festival, with unlimited beer—and all of them were carefully selected. Every beer was delicious. Since it’s all-inclusive, everything was included, which made me very satisfied overall. The baths were also great. I used the private bath on the day I arrived and again the next morning, and both times were very comfortable. However, when I requested the private bath at check-in, I was handed a key on the spot without being asked my preferred time and was simply told “30 minutes.” After going to my Room to drop off luggage and get ready before heading to the bath, I ended up with only a little over 10 minutes in it. I felt the front desk staff member could have been more considerate and attentive. All of the food was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, and I enjoyed everything. The late-night soba was also excellent. Overall, I think this is an Accommodation that offers a very satisfying stay.

Excellent all-inclusive experience.
I had such a great time when I visited last year that I came back again. There is a brewery on-site, producing a variety of craft beers, and I was able to enjoy several freshly brewed pints—this Accommodation is like heaven for a beer lover like me. Both dinner and breakfast were also delicious. The only disappointment was that the pillow had an odor and I couldn’t use it, and although I mentioned this in the survey, there was no response. All the staff were friendly and wonderful, so it was just a shame about that one point.

A must for craft beer lovers
This Accommodation is a “drink responsibly” kind of place. They serve carefully selected craft beers rather than standard beer, so tastes may vary. At dinner, you can also enjoy sake from a 1.8L bottle. Dinner is delicious, but the breakfast buffet is outstanding—you can fully savor Yamagata with Japanese, Western, Chinese, and Indian options. If this were in Hakodate, the service would be exactly what you’d expect; it would be perfect if they offered sparkling wine at breakfast! Please consider staying here. The large public bath isn’t rotated between men and women, but it was spacious and very relaxing! The private bath (free for 30 minutes) was also great—both the rock bath and the barrel-style one (?) were nice. You can also choose from a wide selection of yukata. I’ll come back again when the local craft beer lineup changes!

In every aspect.
It feels like the level of a day-use Onsen facility. It seems they also offer day-use Onsen, but… I stayed on a day that cost JPY 55,000 per adult. The system is that you take all amenities from the lobby—towels, yukata, toothbrushes, combs, everything—and there was nothing provided at all in either the bath area or the Room. It’s all-inclusive, but there aren’t many drink options, and you can’t order anything else even for an extra charge—you can only choose from what’s available. It was crowded for alcohol as well; I waited about 20 minutes in line. There is an outdoor space which felt nice even though it was hot, but if it were raining or snowing, I don’t think the indoor bar counter and lobby would be able to handle the number of guests. The Room felt dusty and small, and when I opened the curtains there was a dirty balcony. Of course there were no amenities—no water either. I would have liked drinks in the fridge even if they were paid. Also, when the all-inclusive service ended there were no staff around; someone who seemed like cleaning staff quickly cleared everything away without any notice in a very businesslike manner. Dinner wasn’t good either. The meat was probably the only tasty item. The staff member who worked hard serving drinks at the crowded bar did a great job, and roasting marshmallows over the bonfire was fun—that part was nice! But the meat soba served at night wasn’t good either, and the bath is just an ordinary large public bath. For JPY 55,000 per person… it honestly made me feel like crying. The private family bath also felt a bit inconvenient (having to check signs at reception), so we didn’t use it. And I couldn’t use the sauna I was looking forward to because same-day Reservation wasn’t possible.

Working hard to fill in the blanks.
Dinner was even better than expected. The sashimi, Yamagata beef, and the all-you-can-drink alcohol were all satisfying. After getting full here, we also enjoyed roasted marshmallows around a campfire and even an adult cream soda, and in the morning there was a buffet breakfast. As a place to eat, it was great. The Facility overall feels old. It seemed like they were working hard to make up for the aging hardware with food and drinks. I had been a bit worried after seeing Reviews mentioning that some General Guest Room A units have unit baths and are old or smelly. The Room we were shown had a separate shower room and toilet, and the toilet was new and clean. The shower room was old but usable. The Room itself was clean, but it felt dim even with the lights on. In the morning we could see snow-capped Mt. Gassan from the Room window, so the location is excellent.

Craft beer tasting is the best!
This Accommodation features an on-site craft beer brewery. It is all-inclusive with unlimited drinks, including sake and spirits as well as beer. We soaked in the open-air bath right after arrival, then enjoyed delicious beer. The tasting flight of five different beers was impressive. At night, we had fun trying roasted marshmallows over a bonfire. The meals were also delicious. Late-night meat soba was served too, so we could fully enjoy both eating and drinking.

Don’t expect much when it comes to beer.
I was looking forward to visiting the brewery and the all-you-can-drink option, but I was disappointed because the all-you-can-drink menu only included light beers. When I asked the Accommodation staff, they said this is always the selection. They also told me there were no pale ales. I was very disappointed that I visited without checking the details more carefully.

If you’re visiting Tendo Onsen, Ichiraku is the only choice.
About a 5-minute taxi ride straight from Tendo Station. When you enter the Hotel, you’re greeted by the gate of a samurai residence, and after walking through an art gallery all the way to the lobby, we arrived a bit early—so instead of a welcome drink, we had beer. I was happy to find cherry beer, and it was delicious. After pushing myself to climb Yamadera, the bead cushion in our Room was perfect for resting my body. Both the meals and the large public bath were extremely satisfying. Everything was very tasty, and the staff who explained each dish kindly taught us so much—I discovered that “popped” is incredibly delicious when you eat it. Yamagata really has so many great foods. There were also so many kinds of alcohol that I almost felt bad that it was all-inclusive. I was surprised to learn you even offer morning yoga. Since we had to leave early in the morning this time, I’ll definitely stop by again next time—to try the soba we couldn’t eat and visit Tsukikoma Stand, which we didn’t get to go to. It was a flawless stay overall; if I had one request, it would be having a trash bin in the washroom area. Next time I’d like to stay longer and fully enjoy everything. My husband loved it too—we’ve come to love Tendo Onsen. Thank you very much.

An irresistible Accommodation for alcohol lovers
I was looking for an Accommodation with easy access by public transportation and an all-inclusive plan, and found this one, so I stayed here. . Access Direct to Tendo Station by Shinkansen. From Tendo Station, it’s a flat walk, so it was easy to get there even with a suitcase. . Accommodation Maybe renovated? The shared Facilities on the 1st and 2nd floors were clean and had a cozy, lived-in feel. The Room makes good use of the pre-renovation interior style, while the sink/bath/toilet areas have been renovated—clean and comfortable. The Room also had skincare (lotion and emulsion) and shampoo amenities provided, which I really appreciated! . Bath The large public bath has spacious washing areas—a classic style—with both an indoor bath and an open-air bath. The shampoo amenities were POLA, and I was happy to see ReFa hair dryers. . All-inclusive details From check-in at 15:00, unlimited drinks were available in the lobby and at the stand. There were several kinds of snacks as well; they seemed like original/curated items sold at the shop, and they were all delicious. In the lobby: two types of beer. At the stand: different beers from the lobby plus wine as well. From 16:00, staff pour beer at the stand—having a professionally poured beer on the terrace was amazing! *I later learned that the wine at the stand is not served during nighttime bar hours, so if you want to enjoy Yamagata wine, I recommend drinking it during this time slot.* . Dinner was served in the dining venue. Drinks were all-you-can-drink plus a self-serve style where you can pour as much as you like of whatever you want: Beer of course; sparkling wine (not from Yamagata), Yamagata wine, whisky, shochu, sake—pretty much everything! The Yamagata wines leaned sweet, so true wine lovers might find them a bit underwhelming? The meal portion was just right—not too much or too little—and very satisfying. I requested a cake in advance (you can choose free or paid; I chose paid), and they served it for us. The paid cake can be taken back to your Room, so you can enjoy it with drinks from the bar too. . From 20:00 we had cocktails at the bar stand. It gets quite crowded, so it takes a little time from ordering to being served. The original cocktails were all delicious! From 21:00 soba noodles were served in the lobby. Late-night food + drinks made for such a fun evening. At night in addition to beer there were also lemon sours and highballs in the lobby as well, , The next morning we did yoga before breakfast, We enjoyed everything to its fullest—it turned into an amazing trip! (I ran out of space so I can’t write everything lol)

A Great Value, Wonderful Accommodation
It was great value—everything was included, so it felt like a really good deal. The large public bath was excellent. The private bath seemed to have a slight chlorine smell, so I only used it once. Otherwise, no complaints.

Great service and great beer.
The Accommodation has a wonderful atmosphere, and the staff’s hospitality was excellent. Of course, every craft beer was delicious, and we were very satisfied. Since it’s all-inclusive, you can enjoy unlimited beer, sake, and sparkling wine during meals, and both the quality and quantity of the food were more than satisfying. If you’re visiting Tendo Onsen, choosing this Accommodation is a safe bet.

Unlimited craft beer
This Accommodation offers the welcome treat of unlimited delicious craft beer in a wide variety. The Onsen has gentle waters, perfect for relaxing at your own pace. Throughout the Accommodation, abundant wood creates a calm atmosphere. Locally made furniture and carvings are placed throughout, adding a luxurious feel.

We had a relaxing stay.
This is a calm and relaxing Accommodation. They offer services such as local craft beer and matcha tea, which made for a very comfortable stay. The bath is also spacious and pleasant. Dinner features many dishes made with local ingredients, and drinks are free—guests bring them themselves. The local craft beer is delicious! It would be helpful if jinbei loungewear were available, as it makes it easier to move around.

Despite the YouTuber’s glowing reviews…?
Since a famous YouTuber rated it highly, please refer to their review for the positive points. I visited on a weekday in February after watching YouTube and looking forward to it. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but I would like to share three disappointing points. 1) The quality of the alcohol selection declined noticeably day by day, which was very disappointing. Your signature local craft beer is brewed and sold in-house and is truly delicious. However, if you advertise an all-inclusive plan, you need to maintain a certain standard for wine, whisky, and other options as well. The wine in particular felt like large-bottle table wine—more like at-home drinking quality. 2) The bathroom sink drain in the guest Room was clogged, which was very disappointing. Also, the “haori” provided in the Room had food stains on it. Because the sink drain was clogged, water overflowed when washing up or brushing my teeth. It was disappointing that it did not appear to have been properly checked. In addition, there were food stains left on the haori from a previous guest, which made me sad that it had not been cleaned. 3) There is no Shuttle Service from Tendo Station or back to Tendo Station, which was very disappointing. I traveled about 3–4 hours from Tokyo and came with high expectations. It is true that the Ryokan is within walking distance from the station, but this area also gets heavy snow, so I believe a Shuttle Service would be better. Don’t all nearby Hotels offer pick-up service from Tendo Station? I would appreciate it if you would consider offering this even for a fee. *A bus was suggested instead, but one service happened to be severely delayed—or possibly canceled—and it caused serious trouble. Overall, cost-cutting and labor-cost reductions by the Ryokan felt obvious, and there appeared to be very few staff members on site. Early-morning tasks such as refueling heaters and setting out supplies seem to be outsourced to security staff; however, seeing uniformed security personnel working who could not even greet guests properly did not feel pleasant for visitors who come to an Onsen Ryokan seeking relaxation.

I stayed for multiple nights.
After reading the Reviews, it seemed that many guests choose a Multiple Night Stay, so I decided to stay for multiple nights as well. For the second night’s dinner, the menu was changed, and both meals were delicious—I was truly impressed. Of course, the beer was great too. The staff were always pleasant and kindly accommodated additional orders. It’s a warm and welcoming Accommodation.

I was able to relax.
- It was great to relax in the multi-purpose hall, enjoy drinks and music, and read a book at my leisure. - I enjoyed trying different drinks depending on the time of day. The only downside was that the wine at dinner was low quality and I couldn’t drink it, which unfortunately left a negative impression.

Used for a family trip—very satisfied.
We stayed here for a family trip for the first time in a while. At first, I wondered, “All-inclusive at an Onsen Accommodation?”—but it was far more comfortable and fun than expected. In particular, the meals were gently seasoned, very delicious, offered a wide variety, and had more than enough volume—we were extremely satisfied. The Accommodation is full of thoughtful touches; drinks and snacks are available in the lobby as well. There are several kinds of house-made beer, and all of them are tasty, which was a pleasant surprise (I’ve tried house-made beer a few times before and rarely found it very good—so this was an unexpected delight. I highly recommend the beer here.). There is also a standing bar near the large public bath that serves oden, and it was lively. You can even roast marshmallows over an outdoor bonfire. There are many creative activities to enjoy, but it’s a bit disappointing that everything ends by 10 p.m. (matcha is prepared in the lobby the next morning). It’s hard to fit everything in. There were many young couples as well, and the lively atmosphere felt great. I think the renovation has been a big success. Also, with inbound tourism in recent years we’ve often felt out of place as Japanese travelers, but here we hardly noticed any inbound guests at all and could relax comfortably—I truly appreciated that. The Onsen in the large public bath isn’t one of those places with many different types; it’s a simple setup with just two baths—an indoor bath and an open-air bath—but they’re spacious, very relaxing, and had excellent water quality. There are also two private family baths—a hinoki bath and a rock bath—but since they’re open-air baths with outdoor washing areas, winter can be tough. The time limit is also short at 30 minutes, and washing your hair is not allowed, so you may need to use another bath afterward as well. The stairs at the rock bath get extremely slippery due to mineral deposits from the Onsen water, so caution is needed (I hope some measures can be taken). As for the building and rooms: you can clearly see which areas have been renovated versus those that haven’t (unfortunately), but overall it was comfortable. Since you’re there anyway, I recommend making full use of your stay—from check-in at 3 p.m. until check-out at 11 a.m.—to enjoy everything to the fullest.

We stayed in a spacious Room on the 5th floor. There was a mini guitar in another Room, and it was fun to play again after a long time. We chose Yubo Ichiraku for its all-inclusive plan and on-site brewery. Right after check-in, we could enjoy beer in the lounge. We were also able to fully enjoy drinks at the in-house bar and even during meals—an ideal Accommodation for beer lovers. It was a bit disappointing that we couldn’t go out onto the terrace due to the rain, but otherwise everything was excellent: the Onsen, the food, and our Room were all clean and comfortable, making for a truly satisfying stay. Relaxed and rejuvenated.
I visited on a weekday! The stay was more affordable than on weekends, and I was even upgraded to a higher-ranked Room as there seemed to be availability! The all-inclusive feature is very appealing. Although I didn’t drink much due to my late arrival, I tried all the craft beers! The cherry beer? That was my favorite. It seems like arriving earlier would allow for an even more enjoyable experience. The interior had a calm and stylish atmosphere! Both breakfast and dinner were incredibly delicious and satisfying. I also got to enjoy both private open-air baths, which were so relaxing~ It turned out to be a truly satisfying trip—thank you so much!
