  An excellent stay in a home overlooking a neat, expansive garden with many types of edible herbs. A relaxing place as well, with an extra-large bathtub and great amenities. Beautiful wood details throughout give it a rustic yet modern feel.

  While planning our G...

  While planning our Golden Week trip, I happened to be drawn to the place name and this Accommodation’s name and made a Reservation. This is an Accommodation created by restoring a traditional old house, and this time we stayed in a Room renovated from a storehouse. Right after making the Reservation, I noted that we would have a wheelchair user, and I truly appreciated your courteous call in response. Thanks to that, we were able to arrive feeling at ease on the day. Staying in a storehouse was a first-time experience for us, and the delicious farm-to-table breakfast and dinner at the restaurant were wonderful. The great-value selection of wines was especially irresistible for wine lovers. I also loved how the original structure blends with the renovated elements—personally, I’m fond of glasswork and fittings—so this place was filled with delightful details. I also learned that “Roven,” the Accommodation’s name, refers to their signature roll cabbage dish being slowly finished in an oven. It was an exceptional dish that completely changed my idea of roll cabbage—I want to eat it again soon. Even though it was Golden Week with crowds and traffic everywhere, Otaki Town felt unhurried; it has that nostalgic “good old Japan” hometown atmosphere—a town where you can truly feel “many great joys,” just as its name suggests. We’re very grateful for everyone’s kindness. Next time, we’d like to stay longer—explore more of town and ride the Isumi Railway as well. On our way home, my husband and I found ourselves happily talking about when we should return next time with our family. Thank you very much.

  It was very good.

  Both the Room and the view were flawless—absolutely wonderful. Dinner was delicious, and we enjoyed some wine as well, allowing us to relax and have a great time. If there is one issue, it would be the bathtub. We were happy that it was large and impressive, but because the faucet is narrow it takes over an hour to fill, and since there is no reheating function we had to set the water to a high temperature and top it up. For an Accommodation, this feels like a problem. It would be especially inconvenient in winter. I wonder if it could be made into a 24-hour bath?? That said, we really liked everything else and would love to visit again.

While we are glad you enjoyed the large bathtub, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by the time required to fill it and by the lack of a reheating function. In response to your feedback, we have revised our operations so that we fill the bathtub in advance before guests check in. We have also improved our check-in guidance by informing guests that during their stay they may add hot water continuously while using it. While major Facility upgrades will take time, we take your feedback seriously and will continue making improvements so that our guests can enjoy an even more comfortable stay.   Highly satisfied.

  We brought small children, and both the Room and the bath were very spacious, which made us extremely satisfied. The meals were, of course, excellent. Next time, if it doesn't rain, we would love to enjoy a campfire.

  The charming traditi...

  The charming traditional house atmosphere, the detached bath, and the relaxing time in the garden were truly soothing. The dinner was absolutely delicious, featuring fresh and unique vegetables I hadn't tried before. I bought a cake as a souvenir on my way back, and it was a hit with everyone! I would love to visit again.

  Yuyue Travel

  This time, we stayed for one night in the Den-en room during our family trip. The building, originally from the Taisho era, has been stylishly fully renovated, allowing us to experience the best of both old and new. Our elementary school-aged child was thoroughly satisfied, enjoying activities like playing catch and having a bonfire in the spacious garden. Additionally, the dinner and breakfast were truly delicious, with the demi-glace sauce hamburger and freshly baked bread for breakfast being particularly exquisite. We are grateful for the heartfelt and wonderful hospitality of the owner and all the staff. We would love to visit again. Thank you very much for taking care of us.
