    A unique retreat, Hotorinite, run by a wonderful couple at Lake Otome in Yamanashi. An unparalleled space and hospitality embodying the essence of "In Praise of Shadows." The husband introduces the ultimate expression of Yamanashi's terroir within nature's embrace, offering warm and heartfelt hospitality. Meanwhile, the wife presents lovingly crafted dishes that guide guests into a Zen-inspired world filled with simplicity and thoughtful care. This extraordinary space created by such a charming couple leaves you in awe with its subtle yet profound impact. It feels like a place deserving of three stars from that renowned tire company. We wholeheartedly recommend this destination to those from around the world who wish to experience Japan at its finest. It is also an ideal place for Japanese people who may have lost sight of their identity or forgotten what makes this island nation so unique. Visiting here will remind you of what truly matters. It made me fall in love with Japan all over again. Thank you very much!

    Completely satisfied.

    We visited on New Year's Eve as a couple and were warmly welcomed, allowing us to relax and enjoy our stay. The meals featured unique ingredients such as rare mushrooms and wild plants, presented with great care and creativity. The handmade soba noodles prepared by the host for the special New Year's Eve menu were exceptional. The mochi and traditional New Year dishes served on New Year's morning were also delightful. We would love to visit again!
