    Both our dog and the kids were very happy.

    This was our first stay, traveling with my two sons and our two dogs. We came to celebrate my younger son’s birthday, and at his request we chose a place where we could travel with our dogs. Surrounded by greenery, the spacious dog run let our dogs play happily. My sons were also very satisfied—playing together with the dogs in the dog run and being impressed by the loft. The Facility was very clean and comfortable. The bath was an Onsen, with an indoor bath, an open-air bath, and a full-scale sauna as well, so we had a very relaxing stay. Breakfast was delicious and generous in portion size—thank you as well for preparing meals for our dogs. We would love to visit again.

    It felt like a dream...

    It felt like a dream in an unreal, otherworldly space. We stayed at a place called “Luonto,” a short distance from reception. As soon as we stepped inside, the soothing scent of wood welcomed us. Open the windows and you’ll find a dog run surrounded by nature, plus an open-air bath and even a sauna— it truly felt like staying in a mansion. There wasn’t a single dog hair anywhere, and of course there was no dog smell. Even if there had been, the calming woody aroma would have masked it. The meals were already prepared, so we could eat whenever we liked, which was great. There was more than enough food—we were completely full. We ordered shabu-shabu, but I think we could have eaten even more if there had been a few more options to change up the flavors. Breakfast was delivered at the requested time as well. It included ham-and-cheese toast and croissants, though the toast felt a little dry. But in the end, this wonderful space makes up for everything! I’m glad we treated ourselves to this stay—it became a lovely memory.

    We stayed for one ni...

    We stayed for one night with my daughter’s family, our grandchildren, and our Chihuahua. The Room was clean and spacious, and the kids and our Chihuahua were running around happily!! We were very satisfied to enjoy a BBQ on the covered terrace without worrying about the weather. Breakfast arrived warm in the delivery box, so we could eat right away—and it was delicious! The bathroom was also spacious, and we all enjoyed it together. Unfortunately, it rained so we couldn’t use the dog run, but we’d love to come back and try again! We’ll definitely stay again as a family.

    Family Trip

    We stayed here for a family trip with two dogs. The Facility was new, and the moment we opened the front door, the scent of wood was soothing. The private dog run was spacious, and our dogs loved running around. Although it drizzled a little, we were glad we could enjoy a BBQ outdoors under a roof. All of the ingredients were delicious. We also fully enjoyed the sauna and Onsen, making it a wonderful family getaway.

    Trash left as is.

    I will state only the facts. When I checked in and looked in the trash can, it was still packed with plastic bottles and beer cans thrown away by the previous guest. In the freezer, an unknown long green onion in a pack had been left frozen. When I tried to serve rice from the rice cooker, there was no rice paddle. In addition, when I called the day before to confirm my stay, there was no detailed explanation about self check-in. In the end, I could not find where the Room was, so we wandered around from the parking lot carrying heavy luggage. I had a bad feeling from that phone call the day before, and it turned out to be correct. If a guest staying the next day calls, I think it is normal at minimum to end by saying something like “Please travel safely” or “We look forward to seeing you.”

    We enjoyed a welcome...

    We enjoyed a welcome drink in the lounge, then drove to the accommodation building. We stayed with our 11-month-old dog and two adults. The newer villa was very clean, stylish, and a wonderful space. From the terrace, the open view of the dog run and forest was refreshing and soothing. It’s a maisonette with twin beds and a toilet on each floor, so it seems it can accommodate up to four guests. For us, it was just the right size. On the first floor there is an air-conditioned bedroom that can be fully darkened. There is an indoor Onsen bath, a sauna, and even an open-air bath, so we really enjoyed bath time. However, there was something like chocolate stuck to the sauna backrest, so I would like that to be removed. It would have been nice to have a chair at the sink area. The tissues were tucked away at the bottom; I think placing them on top would make them easier to find. The hair dryer was ReFa, and there was also a curling iron. We also used the washing machine, which was very convenient. For some reason many hangers were in the entrance dirt-floor area (genkan), but they were handy when going outside. Pet amenities were more than sufficient, and the dog run was spacious—our dog happily ran around at full speed. Dinner was BBQ in what felt like an inner-garage-style space. It was delicious, but since it’s more of a glamping-style meal, I felt it would be even better if dinner could also be served at a restaurant. Breakfast is delivered as well, which made things easy—especially after bathing. Having handmade meals for pets both morning and evening is another great point. I thought it would be perfect if check-out were at 11:00. The staff were pleasant and helpful throughout; we were lucky with the weather too, and our first trip with our dog became a wonderful memory. We will definitely return. Thank you very much.

    When I previously planned to stay here, I heard that bears had been spotted nearby, so I Cancel the Reservation. This time, I booked again and stayed. The cottage is new and well equipped with amenities, and having laundry facilities was very helpful. I was also glad they provided a microplastic-free fabric softener—the same one we use at home—so I felt comfortable using it. Since my plan was No Meals Included and there isn’t a supermarket nearby, next time I’ll buy groceries before check-in. There are no seasonings provided, so I recommend bringing or purchasing some. The dog supplies were well prepared and very helpful. It was my first time using a fireplace and a wood-fired sauna, and everything worked smoothly—it was a great experience. I’d like to stay again. The staff were kind and pleasant as well.

    The Best Stay

    Located in a very quiet and peaceful area, separated from other buildings, we were able to fully enjoy our own time. The room was clean and well-maintained, exceeding our expectations for a wonderful accommodation. This time, we brought our own ingredients and stayed with no meals included, but next time we would love to try the food as well. The sauna allowed us to use firewood to adjust the temperature ourselves, providing an incredibly hot and amazing sauna experience. The Onsen temperature was perfect, and combined with outdoor air bathing, it was very comfortable. Our dog also seemed very happy running around both inside the house and in the outdoor dog run!

    I had a relaxing and refreshing time in nature.

    We had a relaxing and refreshing stay at a lovely villa surrounded by nature. The room had a high ceiling, providing a spacious and comfortable atmosphere. The wood stove kept us warm to the core, making our time enjoyable. We also appreciated the welcome drinks. The open-air Onsen was very pleasant as well. If we may add, it would have been even better if the floor of the changing room in the morning was cleaner.

    A place you'll want to keep secret.

    I stayed at Nokka and had a wonderful experience thanks to the incredibly kind staff. This time, I only stayed for one night as a trial, but I plan to stay for several nights next time. The meals were unexpectedly delicious, and the room was very clean. The private dog run at Nokka was a great feature—our dog loved running around freely. Both my wife and daughter were very pleased with our stay. Although we used to stay at other cottages in Nasu every year, we would love to return here again. It would have been perfect if there were no need to travel from Nokka to Shirasagi-no-Yu.

    Stay with one small dog.

    I stayed for the first time with a small dog. The room was very clean with no dog smell, and it was spacious enough for a small dog. There was a wood stove, but I didn’t know how to use it, so I only used the heater. The floor remained cold, and the room didn’t warm up easily. Later, I found out that instructions for using the wood stove were available online and regretted not checking earlier. It would be helpful to have instructions near the stove. To access the onsen, you need to walk outside to reach the front building. At night, older guests might find walking in the dark a bit concerning; however, both the onsen and outdoor bath were excellent. The bathroom in my room was also spacious and very clean—truly wonderful! Dinner was sukiyaki, while breakfast came in a box delivered with freshly baked bread—a generous portion that was delicious and satisfying! I would love to stay here again!

    It was absolutely am...

    It was absolutely amazing! The place is brand new, and the moment we entered, we could smell the fresh scent of wood. The space is large, and while cleaning must be challenging, it was spotless with no trash or hair anywhere. There were no insects in the Room either. Thanks to this, we had a very comfortable stay. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious. Since we stayed for two nights, it was nice to see some variety in the breakfast menu. Also, the dog food provided was plentiful, which made our pet very happy. Although it rained during our first trip to Nasu, staying here kept us from feeling gloomy and made our trip enjoyable. Thank you so much!

    Ideal Stay

    Relax in the Onsen of your private open-air bath. The room's spacious dog run offers great views. For in-room dining, enjoy sukiyaki with delicious Nasu beef and eggs for a satisfying meal. Breakfast includes freshly prepared hot sandwiches delivered to your room, enjoyed with the provided tableware. The front desk staff were very polite, ensuring a comfortable stay. We look forward to visiting again during fireplace season!

    Traveling with 4 dogs! It was comfortable.

    We stayed with three generations of our family—father, daughters' families, a total of seven people—and four dogs. This trip was centered around the dogs. Before entering the room, we let them play in the private dog run. The spacious lawn was well-maintained, and the dogs were thrilled to run around freely. The accommodation provided almost everything needed for the dogs: a playpen, bowls, toilet sheets, wet wipes, waste bags, towels, bath towels, treats, homemade meals... there was hardly anything we needed to bring ourselves. One minor issue was that between the dog run and the room (terrace), there were two wooden steps with gaps in their design that made us worry about our dogs' paws getting caught (we managed by laying down a sheet we brought). The bath featured an authentic Onsen and sauna. We could adjust it to our preferred temperature and thoroughly enjoyed it—especially sauna enthusiasts! Meals were delivered directly to our room so we didn’t have to leave our dogs alone. Dinner included shabu-shabu while breakfast came as a Western-style morning box; both were delicious and satisfying even for those with hearty appetites. For those who prefer cooking themselves during their stay—the kitchen tools provided seemed sufficient for self-catering needs as well! Although slightly distant from the front building where reception is located—we enjoyed free drinks during café time along with roasted marshmallows. Another small disappointment: while this is an accommodation perfect for relaxing at leisure—it seems checkout time has been changed from 11 AM earlier now down-to-10 AM instead recently which felt rushed personally speaking; would love seeing extended-late-checkout options offered someday soon perhaps? Traveling alongside pets can be challenging sometimes but overall experience here turned out wonderfully comfortable leaving behind unforgettable memories filled w/joyful moments shared together!

    It was a wonderful accommodation for both dogs and people.

    We stayed at the Premium Dog Villa (Nokka). The spacious and clean grassy dog run allowed our dogs to play safely and happily. The meals were adjusted to chicken-only, and we received three packs per meal for both our large and small dogs. Since we brought our own dog food, the provided amount was more than enough. Our dogs were thrilled! We set up a comfortable toilet area with larger pads and a fence-like circle, ensuring no accidents. The heavy gate on the stairs added extra safety. Even our less travel-savvy dogs felt at ease. The room featured a sauna and an Onsen, which everyone enjoyed at their convenience. During the chilly mornings and evenings of Golden Week, the fireplace was very useful. There were bedrooms on both the first and second floors (I believe they had semi-double beds), with four beds in total. A drum-style washing machine with detergent provided added convenience, along with skincare products like Sekkisei lotion and a ReFa hair dryer. Breakfast was delivered at 7:30 AM; we ate it immediately while it was still hot—crispy hot sandwiches included! We requested one ham-and-cheese sandwich without cheese, which they kindly replaced with salmon and onion instead of just removing the cheese—a thoughtful gesture that we appreciated. A couple of concerns: there seemed to be an odor from the downstairs toilet plumbing? Also, regarding dining room lighting—since guests cook using gas stoves, oil splatters accumulate over time; when it gets dark outside, this becomes noticeable as light reflects off oil stains mixed with dust on fixtures. Other than that minor issue, everything else about this accommodation was clean; staff members were wonderful too! We would love to stay here again!

    To the snowy Nasu following Shirakawa Highlands

    We stayed at Nokka with a large dog and as a couple. The Premium Lodge offered a private environment slightly set apart, and the spacious dog run was excellent. However, the iron gate at the entrance did not lock properly, and our dog escaped while playing in the dog run, which gave us quite a scare. Fortunately, we found him nearby in the woods, but it was very stressful. Additionally, the living area was on the second floor with see-through stairs that our dog was too scared to climb. We had to carry his 45-kilogram body up and down ourselves. A Room with direct access from the living area to the dog run would have suited us better. The amenities were all quite small, giving an impression that they might be more targeted toward guests with small to medium-sized dogs. The restaurant and front desk had a more luxurious feel compared to Shirakawa Kogen; however, in terms of overall resort scale and atmosphere, Shirakawa Kogen felt like a better fit for us.

    Dog-Friendly Trip

    I made a Reservation because of the newly opened Facility. We only interacted with the staff during check-in and check-out, which matched our preferences perfectly. Of course, their service during those times was excellent. What surprised us the most was how delicious the meals were! The rice was perfectly cooked at just the right time, and everything tasted amazing. The dog run was clean and allowed for enjoyable playtime. However, as I mentioned upon departure, it was difficult to understand how to open and close the plugs for both indoor and outdoor baths; I hope this can be improved. Also, it would be great if there were a waste bin for pet waste on the second-floor balcony or somewhere similar. That said, we will definitely return again! Thank you in advance!

    Had a very pleasant stay.

    I stayed with my wife and pet. Despite the limited options for accommodations that allow pets, this place had an Onsen, a dog run, and amenities for dogs, offering excellent service for the price. The only downside was that the location of the front desk was a bit hard to find when using GPS navigation.

    Stayed to celebrate ...

    Stayed to celebrate a friend's birthday. The cottage was dog-friendly, so I planned to bring a dog cart into the room, but the path to the room was like a maze of stairs, making it very inconvenient. The room was very clean with no odors and was comfortable. The amenities like Sekkisei products and ReFa hair dryers made me feel that this facility is considerate towards women. Due to allergies, I chose a no-meal plan and cooked for myself, but during breakfast, there were no miso soup bowls available and had to use small rice bowls instead. The pots and pans provided were only large ones, and the sink was small; having something like a milk pan would have been helpful. When leaving after taking a morning bath, I passed by an employee and greeted them first but was ignored, which made me feel very sad in the morning.
