    Is this correct?

    As the first trip to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, we stayed at Arayashiki in Oki. We were able to relax as if we were at home, including enjoying the garden with a sky full of stars and a campfire. The meals reflected a deep respect for nature and made us feel, “This is what doing things right looks like.” The nature on Dogo Island was wonderful, but as someone who loves spectacular views, I’m glad we made the effort to visit Matengai Cliff in Dozen. If the timing works out, I’d love for our children to experience this too.

    Enjoy the Oki Islands.

    It may actually be a plus that the owner and chef are not originally from the Oki Islands, as it brings out the best of this place. Both of them are very particular about food and drink, and that care is thoughtfully reflected in the meals—we truly enjoyed the ingredients of Oki Island. Thanks to the owner’s warm personality, we were able to relax and take our time. We would love to visit again to enjoy ingredients from another season. The Room is spacious, but this is especially recommended for a small group who loves good food and drinks and wants a quiet stay. The weather wasn’t great, so although we had hoped to see the stars, we couldn’t. Still, it turned into a wonderful holiday—my spouse and I ended up pleasantly tipsy and dozing off in front of the wood stove. Thank you very much.

    I rarely post, but this time I’m making an exception because it was such a wonderful memory. This is a private, standalone Accommodation for two people (a couple). If you book a Multiple Night Stay, the meals are innovative Italian cuisine on the first day—authentic and refined, and it seems the chef trained at well-known restaurants in Karuizawa—and Japanese cuisine on the second day (we were served an incredible amount of sashimi). The Room is spacious, and although we don’t drink, there also seems to be a wide selection of wines, mainly Italian. The bath is not an Onsen (this island doesn’t seem to have many Onsens), but it is large. There is also both a projector and a TV (streaming only). It’s great for relaxing, and sightseeing spots such as Shirashima and Rosoku Island are relatively close. Highly recommended.
