    I enjoyed the retro atmosphere.

    It was a small, retro building by the lakeside, and that actually made it even more relaxing—we were able to enjoy a slow, peaceful atmosphere. We came mainly for the meals, and they exceeded our expectations; we were very satisfied. In particular, the house specialty—kinki (rockfish) simmered in water—was outstanding: lighter in seasoning than the usual soy-based simmered dish and absolutely delicious. The baths were great too; the open-air private family bath was wonderful, and we could soak at our own pace. Overall, it was very relaxing and we really enjoyed our stay.

    I stayed for a 2-day...

    I stayed for a 2-day Multiple Night Stay, and both breakfast and dinner were truly delicious with impressive portions. I was surprised to see Kinki fish served on both days. I brought my dog along, and it was great that pets are allowed in the dining area, making it very pet-friendly. In the Room, only a pet waste bin and lint roller are provided, so you will need to bring your own toilet and cage!

    Lucky to see coral grass in full bloom!

    I had never seen coral grass before, and since the Coral Grass Festival is in mid-September, I honestly didn’t have high expectations for an October stay. However, from the moment we entered the parking lot guided by the Kagariya signboard, all we could say was “Wow!” The two of us on this girls’ trip were greeted by a stunning view of fully bloomed coral grass. I had no idea the location was this perfect. Although the building is old, it was impeccably clean and comfortable. The highlight, however, was the food. When choosing the accommodation, I had looked at photos, and the simmered Kinki fish was the deciding factor. The freshly caught Kinki fish served was just as impressive, if not more. It was so delicious that we applauded. Every other dish was equally delightful, leaving us completely satisfied. We stayed in a room facing the lake, and the breathtaking view of Lake Notoro from the window in the morning was unforgettable. From sunrise to the changing light and the many birds flying in, even red-crowned cranes came to feed. Next time, I hope to enjoy a full-course Kinki fish meal.

    I made a reservation for a light meal course. Even though it was a light course, I felt full. It was delicious. The view from the room was also great. Next time, I want to visit during the red coral grass season.

    At this price, the food was satisfying. However, there was no disposal for crab shells. During the meal, I wanted a wet towel twice. Water and tea being self-service is surprising. The toilet and washroom in the room are too small. This accommodation could use some improvements.

    I was able to relax in the open-air bath and was satisfied with the delicious meal.

    We enjoyed the Chokin Kinki Kaiseki dinner, and the seasoning that brought out the flavors of the ingredients was excellent. We were also surprised by the volume of the dishes, making it a very satisfying dinner. Although we were a bit late for the best viewing time of the sango grass, we were still able to see some parts, which was nice. Additionally, there was an SL locomotive nearby, allowing us to learn about its history. We would love to stay here again next time.

    It left me a bit disappointed

    It may be the peak season, so the pick-up is very rushed. Dinner is famous and only satisfying. The bathroom in the new guest room is very narrow, and the height of the sink is poorly designed. It is completely out of the range that ordinary people can move smoothly, and it is not suitable for the price of this room type. The entire hotel smelled of cooking fumes. The large bathhouse is like a bathhouse in a business hotel, so it’s no wonder that there is a paid bath option. Apart from the sumptuous seafood dinner, there was nothing particularly comforting about the place. Although friends have stayed here twice, it left me a bit disappointed.

    I was disappointed with the accommodation, food, and service. I will not stay again.

    I was guided to a different room than the one I booked (a room with a view of the coral grass), and after pointing out the discrepancy, I was moved to the narrow lakeside room I had reserved. The safe couldn't be locked smoothly, and the meals were below expectations, making it the worst accommodation. Since you can freely view the coral grass, I do not recommend staying at this accommodation if you are expecting to see the coral grass.
