  We were able to rela...

  We were able to relax in a quiet, calm atmosphere. The nearby bath was also very pleasant. The breakfast portion was just right for seniors like us. The rice was very delicious, but we couldn’t finish it and regretted leaving some. However, since we didn’t include dinner, we had trouble finding a place to eat in the evening. There were restaurants nearby, but many were closed, so we went to Gotsu. We should have checked in advance.

Regarding dinner, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience of having to search for a place to eat despite coming all the way to Arifuku Onsen. As Arifuku Onsen is only in its fourth year since beginning its revitalization efforts, new shops and ways to enjoy the town are still gradually increasing. At present, there are still limited options for dinner, and some places may be closed on certain days, so we strive to provide clearer guidance for our guests. At KASANE, we also offer Plans such as hot pot meals so that you can enjoy dinner at a relaxed pace in your Room. While looking forward to more dinner options opening in Arifuku Onsen, we will continue doing what we can little by little here in town as well. We would be very happy if you could take your time and fully enjoy Arifuku Onsen—including dining—on your next visit. We sincerely look forward to welcoming you again.   It’s fine if you think of it as a pension.

  It feels like a small Accommodation intended for a Multiple Night Stay for therapeutic hot-spring visits. In the Room I stayed in (Triangle), there were some issues that bothered me, so my rating is on the strict side. Good points - The indigo-dyed items, tableware, and furniture are wonderful - Coffee set (beans, grinder, and flask are provided) - Quiet, lush green surroundings Points of concern - Insufficient cleaning around the window frames (please replace the gaskets; they’re frayed and there are gaps) - Socks are essential (no amenities provided) - I’d like pickles with breakfast and dinner Mixed points - Apartment-size refrigerator (you can bring in ingredients, but it’s a bit noisy since it’s next to the bed) - Mini kitchen and toaster (you can cook for yourself, but I’m concerned about insects) - Loungewear (nice texture but not suitable for summer) The public baths are suited to small numbers of guests, so during high season it seems best to go early or wash your body and hair in your Room. The individually wrapped Zentaro mochi is also cute and recommended.

  It was stylish and wonderful.

  The building’s design felt thoughtfully curated, and the indigo dyeing was wonderful. The Onsen water at Arifuku Onsen was also excellent, and I’d love to visit again. Just one small note: the curtain in the toilet area didn’t feel very relaxing.

  Gratitude and Encouragement

  Thank you very much for taking care of us during our 3-day, 2-night stay. I recently read a magazine passage saying that travel is about venturing deep into a place and encountering an essence you can only meet in that moment—I truly agree. It felt restrictive yet somehow freeing; inconvenient, yet we hardly noticed. This Ryokan (deliberately not a Hotel) has a wonderful handmade feel and plenty of room to grow. Arifuku bianco was also delicious. It was a space where we could enjoy even more local sake, wine, and whisky. Of course, visiting the public baths had its own charm as well. Iwami Kagura was powerful and impressive. My rating is slightly strict.

  Healing

  Three-Generation Family Trip

  We stayed at this accommodation for a three-generation family trip with parents and children. The room, filled with thoughtful details, was absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed brewing coffee from beans and listening to our favorite music while spending special moments in a nature-rich setting at a leisurely pace. The hospitality was very attentive and heartfelt. The unique atmosphere of Arifuku Onsen was truly charming, making it feel like a special place we almost want to keep secret. Our entire family was extremely satisfied with this accommodation, and we hope to return next time with my husband, who couldn't join us on this trip. Next time, we plan to check in earlier to enjoy the three-onsen tour and spend more time relaxing in the room.

  I fully enjoyed my private time.

  First stay at Arifuku Onsen. The young staff were polite and happily accommodated our requests. This time, it was a stay with a 7-year-old child and two female friends. Without a car, the compact layout of Arifuku Onsen was perfect for walking around. Taxis can drop you off nearby, making it stress-free. The interior, renovated by an architecture, design & craftsmanship team, utilized natural materials for a warm and comfortable atmosphere—especially the lighting was excellent. While there is no bathtub in the room, there are three baths within walking distance; all are old but clean with great water quality. Since there are no convenience stores nearby, we dined at restaurants recommended by the accommodation—they were delicious! We arrived by taxi from Hashi Station and brought along our favorite beer from the brewery located at the station; however, you can also find shops in town selling local sake (Japanese sake, wine, whiskey). It's highly recommended to bring your favorite book and enjoy a relaxing indoor retreat here. Having coffee beans provided was delightful! All of the provided tableware, cooking utensils, audio equipment, and lighting fixtures were excellent as well.

  A wonderful Hotel in the hidden Onsen of Arifuku

  A hotel with only five rooms, renovated from a building within Arifuku Onsen. The interior and concept are carefully curated, offering stylish, quiet, and relaxing rooms. There is no TV, but you can listen to music with high-quality speakers, and there is a kitchen for light cooking. Although there is only a shower, you will receive an onsen ticket that can be used at Arifuku Onsen. In the hallway, coffee and juice are available for free, and the staff are kind and courteous. The breakfast basket was impressive. I've never seen such wonderful service. The price is also affordable, and in the Showa retro onsen town, this hotel is unique and exceptional. It is a hidden gem, so you may have to carry your suitcase up a slope from the parking lot, and you might need to make reservations to eat at nearby restaurants, with the nearest convenience store being 7 kilometers away, which can be inconvenient, but it's a hotel you'll want to visit again. Highly recommended.

  A relaxing space

  I have stayed here before, and this time the Room was also a lovely and relaxing Room! The staff were as courteous as ever, and I had a very pleasant stay. The Onsen town is beautiful with the lantern lights at night. It was a very nice view. I will come again.

  Second visit

  It has been less than half a year since our last stay, and we visited again. This time, we brought ingredients and cooked in the room, enjoying drinks. The staff kindly contacted us in advance and lent us the necessary cooking utensils. A feast wrapped in the warmth of wood is quite a delight!
