    We had a great time.

Because the property is operated by a small team, there were a few minor things I noticed, but the meals were delicious and served in just the right portions, and I was able to enjoy the bath to my satisfaction with a Reservation. I’d love to come back in autumn to see the fall foliage.

The only disappointing thing was the Onsen system.

There are two baths (Onsen). Both have a small indoor bath and an open-air bath. The water is free-flowing from the source, and both the quality and volume were excellent. Everything is kept very clean. The process is to check whether a key is at the key station, and if there is one, take it and enter. When the Accommodation is close to full, you need to Reserve your preferred time on a sheet for each bath, so it’s disappointing that you can’t bathe whenever you like. Also, I believe the Onsen closes around 10 p.m., so you can only use it until then. On top of that, there is no bath or shower in the Room either. We got carried away chatting and ended up missing our second bath within the available hours. For Onsen lovers who want to soak multiple times whenever they feel like it, this system will be quite disappointing. For early-to-bed/early-to-rise guests, or for a refreshing trip with friends focused on meals and conversation, I think this is a wonderful Accommodation. The food was very delicious, and all staff were polite and kind. Meals are served all at once for all guests from 6:00 p.m. for two hours. Drink service seemed to end a bit earlier, so dinner felt like it went by quickly. Rice dishes also arrived early, so for those who want to enjoy drinks slowly, dinner may feel rushed. If you don’t drink much alcohol, it will likely feel just right.

An Accommodation with Delicious Meals and a Battle for the Bath

The Room was clean, spacious, and beautiful. The service was attentive without being intrusive—just right. Drinks were also free. The food tasted amazing (the wine was so-so). Overall, it was very good, but there was one reason it was hard to truly relax. There are only two private baths for seven Rooms, with a 45-minute rotation. Because Reservations are not accepted, if you want to bathe before dinner you have to keep checking each time to see whether the key has been returned. Check-in is at 15:00 and dinner starts at 18:30. The first slot started at 15:20 for 45 minutes, and I couldn’t get in for the second or third slot either, so I ended up rushing through a bath in about 30 minutes before dinner. If you come for the Onsen, you want to soak leisurely before dinner. At night it’s available until 23:00, and from 7:00 the next morning. I wanted to bathe before breakfast the next morning, so I lined up from 15 minutes beforehand—it took real effort just to get into the bath. A suggestion regarding the baths for management: Either move check-in up by 30 minutes or keep dinner starting at 18:30 and make pre-dinner time reservation-based so all seven Rooms can use it in 45-minute slots; after dinner can remain non-reservation as it is now. In the morning, consider starting from 6:00 and switching from private baths to separate men’s and women’s baths—if you could consider changes like these, this would become an even more comfortable Accommodation and I would like to return again. Lastly, the food—including its presentation—was very delicious. Thank you for your hospitality.

    I’d wanted to stay h...

I’d wanted to stay here since it first opened, and I finally got the chance. The interior has been beautifully renovated, and the Room felt natural in style and pleasantly spacious. It was a bit chilly due to the season, but I was glad I brought pajamas, inner layers, and socks. By night the Room had warmed up, so I was comfortable. Since I do my makeup in natural light, it was inconvenient that there was only a mirror at the sink. With the all-inclusive plan, I could enjoy my favorite sparkling wine. Dinner was excellent—the dashi-based dishes, sea urchin spaghetti, and steak bowl were especially delicious with lean meat and crispy rice. I also enjoyed watching the meat being grilled as part of the performance. The seating was spacious as well, so I could dine calmly. Ice cream and snack foods (which I don’t usually eat) were also fun. As for the Onsen, the entrance felt a bit old-fashioned, and it was very cold when entering the changing room. The shower stops automatically after a set time. There is both an indoor bath and an open-air bath, which were very relaxing. However, even when it wasn’t crowded, having to sign up for a 45-minute slot didn’t suit me. The time felt short—I had to rush while drying my hair with my husband’s help. I wanted to bathe before going to bed; although I knew bathing right after dinner isn’t ideal for digestion, I went immediately after dinner just in case. In the morning our timing didn’t work out either, and we ended up waiting standing up. Unfortunately this made using the bath stressful. I thought there wouldn’t be any concerns about bathing during an off-season stay, but it seemed fully booked in the end. Still, with two meals included plus access to the Onsen, all-inclusive service, an 11:00 check-out time—it felt like outstanding value for money. If you don’t mind how the Onsen system works, this Hotel is a great choice.

A sophisticated accommodation for adults to enjoy a relaxing time.

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary. The calm atmosphere, simple service, delicious meals, and the open-air bath surrounded by nature were all wonderful. There was no excessive service or flashiness, but that made it very comfortable, allowing us to spend quality time as a couple. We could enjoy the bath at any time we liked and indulged in snacks, drinks, and ice cream while relaxing in a clean room. (The handmade nut treats provided in the room were absolutely delicious.) Since we understood the concept and policy of this accommodation beforehand, we had no worries during our stay. From reading reviews, it seems many guests feel the same way. However, some people who do not understand the concept may expect excessive services and give lower ratings; I believe it's important for guests to prepare and understand beforehand as well. This is such a lovely accommodation that I would love to visit again when I want to relax.

    The meals are incredibly delicious.

The course meal was absolutely delicious! As I am pregnant and had informed the staff that raw food was not suitable for me, they kindly provided a mysterious yet incredibly tasty dish (it was explained to me, but I couldn't fully grasp it), which made me very happy! The dessert of pear sorbet topped with Japanese pear, muscat grapes (I think?), lime, and crunchy cookie bits at the bottom of the bowl was an amazing combination. Eating them together created a flavor I had never experienced before—it’s hard to describe, but it was truly delightful. Breakfast was also satisfying and fulfilling; everything exceeded my expectations. Additionally, being able to relax in the bath without worrying about others or hiding my big belly made this experience even more special. This trip as my last getaway during pregnancy brought so much comfort and joy! Thank you so much!!

I had a very comfortable stay.

The Hotel operates efficiently with a small staff, yet provides adequate and attentive service, creating a pleasant experience. This relaxed atmosphere allows guests to feel at ease. The Room has been beautifully renovated, offering great comfort. Dinner features carefully crafted creative dishes that are both satisfying in quality and quantity. Breakfast offers a picnic-like vibe with deliciously prepared dishes, including intricate soups. However, despite having only seven rooms, there are only two private baths available, which can be inconvenient to use as desired. It would be preferable if the baths were available from 5 AM or at least by 6 AM in the morning. Additionally, caution is advised as the bathroom floors can be slippery and the lower part of the door leading back from the open-air bath poses a slight hazard. While pointing out these minor details, overall this is an excellent Hotel with an inviting atmosphere that makes you want to visit casually whenever you feel like it. I look forward to staying again in the future!

Stylish and spacious Room, delicious meals, and fresh air.

The dinner was delicious, accompanied by great sake. Breakfast was stylish and included fresh vegetables, warm soup, and bread, which I enjoyed thoroughly. The kitchen staff greeted us cheerfully. I enjoyed the Onsen three times during my stay. However, one downside was the indoor slippers; they felt split at the sole and were easy to slip off, making it difficult to use the stairs. The service was simple—there was no guidance to the shoe locker during checkout. I wondered if guests ever forget their locker numbers. As I opened the door to leave and looked back, a staff member unexpectedly saw me off with a smile. It seemed amusingly efficient as they only moved two steps from reception for this gesture! I immediately recommended this place to my travel-loving friends. On my way back home, I also visited Seiji Fujishiro Art Museum—it was wonderful too! Thank you for your hospitality!

    It was excellent.

A stay at this all-inclusive accommodation for her birthday celebration was simply the best. The room, meals, and onsen were all amazing. My partner, who loves alcohol, was delighted, making it a wonderful anniversary. Highly recommended for special days with your loved ones.

    Relax and unwind.

A small and quaint hotel quietly nestled in a secluded area. The building has a touch of history, but the interior is beautifully maintained with a calm wood-tone design. While there are few staff members and no extensive services, essential amenities are freely available in the shared space. The shared area also features small refrigerators stocked like a mini convenience store with snacks, drinks, alcohol, and ice cream—all free for guests to enjoy in their rooms. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, with breakfast being particularly impressive! The baths consist of two private-use options that can be used without any inconvenience; I was able to enjoy them twice—once after check-in and once in the morning. A wonderful hotel I would love to visit again!

    It was the best Room!

With only 7 Rooms available, the limited number of guests allowed for a relaxing and peaceful stay. The Room was truly stylish, and the view of nature from the window was breathtaking. The private open-air bath was also excellent! Dinner was stylish but leaned heavily on carbohydrates, with a taste that could be described as "normally good." However, breakfast was absolutely outstanding! Overall, it was an amazing experience. Thank you very much!

    Overall Impression

The meals, featuring creative cuisine, were exceptionally delicious, with each dish being fresh and enjoyable. The private bath had a rich mineral content and the temperature was perfectly comfortable. While there were many young guests, we as older visitors also felt at ease and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A perfect accommodation where you can stay and relax in the nature of Nasu.

It was a long-awaited family trip, and we had the most wonderful time at this accommodation. Everyone in the family absolutely loved it! Nestled beyond the Nasu forest, the charming appearance of this accommodation is truly inviting. There is also a parking lot conveniently located on the opposite side. The entrance has a great atmosphere, and the staff's courteous service provided a sense of comfort. The room was clean, very comfortable, and spacious with two beds that allowed us to sleep soundly. The view of Nasu's natural beauty from the window was incredibly soothing. Although it was unfortunate that Wi-Fi was unavailable due to maintenance, everything else exceeded our expectations. The baths included two private options: an indoor bath and an open-air bath with distinct atmospheres to enjoy. The water temperature was perfect, and soaking in the sulfur-scented onsen brought relaxation to both body and mind. The dressing area even had a refrigerator stocked with bottled water available for free—a delightful touch. Dinner featured dishes made with plenty of local vegetables and dairy products, all of which were delicious! The highlight was definitely the Nasu beef steak bowl—it simply melted in our mouths! Breakfast included items like bread served in baskets, pot-au-feu soup, sausages, yogurt—all exquisite—and just right in portion size. Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience. With its limited number of guest rooms, this accommodation is especially recommended for those who wish to spend their time quietly and peacefully.

The meals, both breakfast and dinner, were absolutely delicious. The atmosphere during dinner was lovely, and it felt very comfortable. The bath was a natural hot spring with free-flowing water, and we could enjoy it privately as a family at our own pace. However, I wonder if it's possible to use the bath freely when the accommodation is fully booked? It's perfect during the off-season!

    I was satisfied.

We had to cancel our spring trip because my companion injured their knee, but as the weather improved, we couldn't resist and decided to visit our favorite destination, Nasu, for an Onsen getaway. Since walking was difficult, we quickly searched and chose this cozy Hotel. Both private baths were stress-free to use, and both dinner and breakfast were incredibly delicious. We enjoyed breakfast on the terrace outside in pleasant weather (the chirping of birds was also soothing). We would love to visit again if we have the chance.

A wonderful accommodation where you can spend a relaxing and happy time with your loved ones.

I wanted to spend a relaxing time, so I made a reservation at this accommodation that I had been curious about for a while. After checking the concept and management policy of the accommodation on their website in advance, I felt confident that I could have a wonderful time here. The journey itself was enjoyable with many attractions like Asian goods shops and roadside stations. Truly Nasu! We checked in shortly after 3 PM. Entering the room, we were soothed by the greenery visible through the large windows. The twin beds were semi-double size, which was much appreciated as single-sized twins can feel cramped. Opposite the check-in counter was a refrigerator stocked with various drinks such as two types of beer, plum wine, non-alcoholic cocktails, and bottled water—all available to take freely to your room and enjoy. The snack box contained an assortment of treats and snacks that made choosing exciting! Additionally, there were several types of ice cream in the fridge. We took some beer, plum wine, and snacks back to our room for some relaxing downtime. There are two private baths available by reservation for 45-minute slots if vacant at any time. Both feature spacious indoor baths and open-air Onsen where you can enjoy natural hot spring water luxuriously as a pair. Since we had heard beforehand that it might get crowded after dinner hours, we enjoyed both baths before dinner. And then came dinner... simply extraordinary! Each dish conveyed the chef's dedication to making it deliciously enjoyable for guests. We savored every bite until the very end—ample portions left us feeling full both physically and emotionally satisfied! Alcoholic beverages like wine or beer are also included during meals. After dinner, we relaxed again in our room. Later on in the evening, we indulged once more in Onsen followed by ice cream (and another beer!) from the fridge. Breakfast arrived at 8 AM placed neatly outside our door in a box. We decided to bring it into their dining area instead of eating inside; if weather permitted warmer conditions earlier mornings balcony dining would’ve been delightful too! Breakfast itself impressed us deeply: everything tasted amazing while being gentle on health-consciousness vibes overall thoughtful touches stood out such coffee served alongside warm milk options sourced locally roasted beans brewed perfectly creating café au lait-style enjoyment! In conclusion: This accommodation left lasting impressions filled w/ heartfelt moments worth cherishing forevermore highly recommendable especially ideal spending quality luxurious times loved ones alike!!

    I will come again.

The natural hot spring bath, the beautifully prepared and healthy meals, and the clean and stylish Room were all wonderful. As for requests... I would have appreciated having a warm drink with dinner. I was grateful to unexpectedly enjoy a snowy view from the bath, but it would have been perfect if the open-air bath had a partial roof. Since I like to bathe early in the morning, it would be great if it could be available from around 5 AM instead of 7 AM. The soothing fragrance allowed me to spend a pleasant, quiet, and relaxing time. Thank you very much. I look forward to visiting again!

The hospitality, meals, and Onsen were truly enjoyable! I was able to enjoy the Onsen three times, and having breakfast in the Room was such a great feature! Accommodating only seven groups per day might be one of the reasons it felt so relaxing. The Room was clean, had a wonderful fragrance, and looked just like it did on the website! Next time, I’d love to visit during a different season instead of winter. It was absolutely amazing!

The ultimate healing space surrounded by nature! I definitely want to visit again!

I stayed at NOTE/NASU and had a truly wonderful time. First of all, the location is perfect! Surrounded by the nature of Nasu Highlands, it's very quiet around. The greenery outside the window was refreshing just being in the room. It's perfect for those who want to relax and forget about the hustle and bustle of city life. The room was also very stylish with a simple yet warm design. You can feel attention to detail in the furniture and interior, making it really comfortable. The bed was fluffy and pleasant, allowing for a good night's sleep. The view from the large window was amazing; opening the curtains in the morning revealed a refreshing forest view that left me impressed. And above all, Onsen! There is a private open-air bath where you can enjoy Nasu Onsen's natural hot spring water flowing directly from its source. The forest view from the bath is truly beautiful, making it feel like you're having a private forest bath while soaking in Onsen. It felt so good that I wanted to stay there forever, forgetting about time. The atmosphere changes between morning and night, making you want to enter multiple times. The food was incredibly delicious! Creative dishes using local Nasu ingredients were not only visually appealing but also satisfying in taste. Each dish in the dinner course was carefully prepared, leaving me amazed with every bite saying "Delicious...!" Breakfast also featured gentle menus for your body, bringing happiness right from morning. The staff were genuinely kind; they talked to us casually and provided detailed advice on sightseeing consultations as well. They recommended spots worth visiting or delicious restaurants which made our Nasu tour thoroughly enjoyable! NOTE/NASU wasn't just about staying overnight; it’s a special place where both mind and body are healed too—highly recommended for those wanting some relaxation amidst nature or seeking special moments away from routine life experiences again soon!

    No return visits.

Dinner was served at 6:00 PM, but the final ramen dish came out at 6:40 PM. The service was so fast that it felt like we were just stuffing food in. Even the appetizer plate beautifully arranged for two was taken away shortly after, with the staff saying, "We will clear the plate, so please take everything you want." We had just started eating, so most of the appetizers were still on the plate. Despite our eating pace, we finished dessert and left the table just one hour after starting the meal. It seemed like all tables started at the same time, and the timing of the food service was the same for everyone, as other guests also finished their meals around the same time. I couldn't help but laugh when the main steak rice and the final ramen were served almost back-to-back. I understand that simplifying service is an initiative of the property, but as someone who considers meal time as one of the pleasures at an onsen property, it didn't suit me. The room is clean.
