    This Accommodation o...

    This Accommodation offers excellent value for money. All the staff were kind, and we really enjoyed the delicious meals. The Room felt a bit old, but having the washbasin next to the bed was convenient—I wondered why I hadn’t seen that before. The pudding in the lounge at night was outstanding. At this price, it was almost surprising how they manage to make a profit. If I had one request, I’d be even happier if alcohol were available in the lounge.

    It was a very comfortable and enjoyable family trip.

    Staying at Kisshotei with my family this time was a very comfortable and enjoyable experience. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was relaxing, the room was clean and cozy, and the staff were all very kind. The meals and hot spring experience were excellent. My family had a wonderful stay, and it left us with great memories from this trip. The only downside was that the Wi-Fi and mobile signal were somewhat unstable, which made it a little inconvenient to use. If this can be improved in the future, the stay would be even more perfect. Overall, I highly recommend it. If I visit Yamanaka Onsen again, I would love to stay at Kisshotei again!

    We stayed as a famil...

    We stayed as a family of three with our 5-year-old son. Having Onsen water in the Room was truly appreciated. The Room was also clean and pleasant. The food-stall event was a little different from what we expected, though we still enjoyed it. The meals were satisfying in both quantity and taste, but it didn’t feel very relaxing—perhaps because the seating wasn’t separated like semi-private booths with noren curtains or similar partitions. The large public bath was neither particularly good nor bad. Many of the staff were from overseas, and everyone was very kind. In contrast, one older Japanese male staff member stood out for being rather unfriendly. At the dining area, we accidentally left our child’s chopsticks behind after dinner and noticed at breakfast; when we were about to ask about lost items, they had already been washed and set at our table, which we really appreciated. Between the cleanliness of the Room and the enthusiasm and hospitality of the younger staff, it felt like they are what support this Accommodation. It didn’t feel like a so-called luxury Ryokan, but it offered just the right level of comfort and calm hospitality for families, making us want to return—an Accommodation we would gladly visit again. The only downside at check-in was that the parking lot was hard to find.

    Family Trip

    With check-in at 2:00 PM, we took a stroll along the river, relaxed with tea in the lounge, and then enjoyed the open-air bath—it was fantastic. Dinner was Noto pork shabu-shabu, and we even had seconds of the meat; it was delicious. It might have been a bit easier to eat if the slices were slightly thinner. The Kaga Taiko performance was more powerful than I expected and truly impressive. Even though I was already full, my favorite pudding was incredibly tasty. At breakfast, the Kagatobi “Gokkan” Junmai sake was so good that I bought some to take home! The tiered breakfast box looked great and tasted great as well—we really enjoyed it. Next time, I’d like to visit Kissho Yamanaka too. Thank you very much.

    Check-in service is slow, resulting in a long wait.

    Check-in was at 2:00 PM, but even though we arrived at 2:00, we didn’t receive the Room key until around 2:40 PM. It wasn’t that crowded. Our Room was the “Hana” Japanese-style room (8–15 tatami mats), assigned at the property’s discretion, and it had a slightly unusual layout. They promptly provided a legless chair. The staff member in charge of our meal service was kind, and the Noto pork shabu-shabu came with unlimited refills—they asked us many times if we wanted more. The food was delicious. The Onsen had steps from the changing area, and there were also steps inside the bath. We were told that the men’s bath has a small tub for an Onsen, so you need to be considerate when using it. We used an IKYU coupon and were glad we could stay at a good value.

    It was an Accommodation I’d love to visit again.

    I was able to relax very slowly. The large public bath was well stocked with amenities such as towels and shower caps, and it was wonderful to be able to go from the Room empty-handed. It made me feel like I don’t want to stay at an Accommodation where you have to bring wet towels back to your Room anymore. I could unwind in the great hot water while looking out at the mountain stream and truly enjoy Yamanaka Onsen. Dinner was excellent—the sashimi and duck jibuni were delicious, and the Noto pork shabu-shabu was also very tasty. The staff even suggested adding more meat, making it a very satisfying dinner. Breakfast was also great; the salted salmon grilled with shio-koji and warmed on the spot was especially delicious. A variety of dishes were packed into tiered boxes, and I could help myself to items like rice porridge and grated yam, which I really appreciated. The Room is in an older building with some steps, but the bed was very comfortable, and a floor chair was provided so I could spend my time relaxing. Thank you very much for all your help.

    I revisited this Accommodation because my previous stay left lasting memories. This time, I was truly impressed by the attentive service from the attendants and front desk staff. The Onsen warmed my body, and the staff’s hospitality warmed my heart. There was also an Indonesian woman working as an attendant, and I was moved by her kind, heartfelt service as well.

    I was very disappointed with the Room.

    I chose this Accommodation for the second night of my Hokuriku trip, but the Room I was shown was at the far end of the second floor, with an entrance so narrow that only one person could barely pass through. The in-room toilet was a unit bath/toilet worse than a business Hotel. It was so cramped that when sitting down, my knees felt like they would hit the wall. The amenities were minimal, almost as an afterthought. The window was dirty, ruining what should have been a great view—it didn’t feel like a Room costing over 60,000 yen per night at all. The moment I entered the Room, any Onsen resort mood disappeared. The food was tasty and came with an all-you-can-drink option, but my first impression of the Room was so bad that it made everything feel negative. Since my first night’s Room elsewhere offered comfort well beyond its price, I don’t feel like returning here.

    It was amazing!!

    I love traveling and have been to many places both in Japan and abroad, but this Ryokan was by far the best I’ve ever stayed at!! - Baths Spacious and spotless, with two types of open-air baths overlooking the gorge. I was able to relax and soak at my own pace. The changing area also had plenty of hair dryers, so I could take my time without worrying about others. - Room A clean, spacious river-view Room where I felt completely comfortable—couldn’t have asked for more. I had some time before dinner and thought about going for a walk, but the view was so beautiful and the Room was so cozy that I ended up staying in. - Meals Everything was absolutely delicious! Both the quality and quantity were more than satisfying. The complimentary sashimi they served us was also outstanding. I visited with a friend whose birthday was coming up, and even though we didn’t request anything, they surprised us with a birthday cake. We were both truly moved! After returning home, I recommended this Accommodation to friends and family as well. I will definitely be back again soon!!

    HAWAII LOVE！

    The open-air bath is amazing!

    This was my second visit to Yamanaka Onsen, and I think this Ryokan offers excellent value for money. I used a great deal Plan from IKYU, and it felt far better than the price suggested. Every staff member provided very courteous service. The meals were delicious, and the all-you-can-drink option was also great. Considering the price, this is a Ryokan with an exceptionally high level of satisfaction. I would love to visit again next year. The open-air bath by the stream is so relaxing that you’ll want to stay in it forever.

    I was able to relax and enjoy the Onsen.

    The Onsen was excellent, and it was a very nice Accommodation. The meals had a somewhat old-fashioned feel, more like “as long as there’s plenty”… I could relax in the Room, but the pillow was far too hard. What was disappointing was that the town’s special-offer service seemed to be a selling point, but all the shops were closed, so the tickets couldn’t be used. I think they should consider this more carefully before handing them out, or they may lose trust.

    Highly satisfied with the meals

    The building feels a bit dated, but this Accommodation offered thoughtful touches and excellent service. Compared with what was shown on the website, a few items were missing, though that may have been seasonal. One concern was the guidance regarding special dishes. Because the information varied greatly depending on the staff member, it caused confusion this time. Especially if you stay during the New Year season, it’s best to carefully confirm that the dishes included in your reserved Plan will be provided. That said, both dinner and breakfast had a great selection, were delicious, and left us completely satisfied. There were creative dishes as well as ones that made the most of quality ingredients—everything was enjoyable. Overall, it was a very good Accommodation where you could feel a genuine desire to please guests throughout the Hotel. I would definitely like to stay again.

    Accommodation you'd want to visit again

    The fish dishes were absolutely delicious. The dining area had enough space between tables, allowing for a relaxed meal. Although it was likely near full occupancy due to the year-end season, I never encountered any crowding in the bath or lounge and enjoyed a comfortable stay. I arrived early due to Shuttle Service timing but was kindly allowed into my Room, which I greatly appreciated. As a solo traveler, I was thankful that they accommodated single guests as well. The toilet in the Room being part of an older and cramped unit bath was slightly disappointing, but I would definitely love to visit again!

    Yamanaka Onsen, choo...

    Yamanaka Onsen, choosing the shuttle service for access was absolutely the right decision. The tranquil and rustic scenery remains undiscovered by foreign visitors! It was a hidden gem of an Onsen. The Hotel staff were courteous and kind, which we greatly appreciated.

    I had a relaxing time.

    A long-awaited trip to Ishikawa Onsen. We stayed at Kagari Kissho. The Onsen was excellent, and the meals were delicious and more than enough to eat. The view from the room was spectacular. It was a wonderful trip.

    The service is excellent.

    The room was well-equipped with amenities, and the changing rooms in the large public bath and private Onsen also had bath towels and toothbrushes available. It was very convenient not having to bring the room's bath towel to the large public bath. The room's bath was also an Onsen, which made it very helpful for assisting my father, who is over 90 years old, with bathing. Additionally, our room included one complimentary use of a private Onsen, which we utilized. My father enjoyed it as well and mentioned that his knee pain had eased. For the large public bath, my husband accompanied my father so he could relax while bathing at his own pace. The beds and futons were very comfortable, allowing us to truly unwind. We also enjoyed strolling around the Onsen town. All of the staff were incredibly pleasant and made our stay at this wonderful Ryokan even more special. During dinner time, they tidied up our room by replacing towels, emptying trash bins, and ensuring everything was clean—this was greatly appreciated! We would love to visit again in the future. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

    The facility feels a...

    The facility feels a bit dated, but the service was excellent. The bath area is equipped with towels and lotion, allowing you to enjoy the onsen without bringing anything. The water is smooth and soft, making you want to stay in it forever. Located by a mountain stream, the scenery is also beautiful.

    Delicious meals that will leave you fully satisfied.

    Dinner includes freshly fried tempura, delicious sashimi and sushi from a Kanpachi filleting show, leaving guests fully satisfied. Other dishes are carefully prepared and served individually on beautiful Kutani ware plates, making the dining experience even more delightful. Every dish was exceptionally delicious. Additionally, there is a plan with a ¥3,000 discount for those who leave the dinner time to the chef's discretion. Although I caused some inconvenience due to my mistake during the reservation process, I deeply appreciate your kind and understanding response. Thank you very much!

    Onsen for the Long Weekend

    Thank you for your stay. We apologize that the private bath was fully booked and you were unable to use it, even though you arrived at 4:30 PM. We will consider improving the reservation system for better accessibility. Additionally, we regret any inconvenience caused by the lack of guidance at the entrance regarding parking and unloading luggage.     The quality varies greatly, but it's a good accommodation.

    Highlights: - Delicious meals and excellent service by staff member Y-san at the dining area. - Unlimited freshly fried crispy tempura. - All-you-can-drink beverages, complimentary pudding and drinks, and live taiko drum performances. - Free towels in the bath area, spacious and comfortable baths with amazing views and atmosphere in the open-air bath. Areas for Improvement: - Arrived at 3 PM but no staff was available to guide us to parking despite its distance from the front desk; had to inquire directly at reception. - Incorrect information about external baths; was told it wasn’t possible to enter after 9:30 PM but later found out on-site that entry was allowed until 10 PM as long as we arrived before then. - Shortly after arrival, visited the riverside terrace only to find all sweets sold out… It would be helpful if there were better guidance on how to make full use of these services like external baths or riverside terrace offerings. - Limited dinner time options—either 5:30 PM or 7:45 PM felt too restrictive. - The room had a damp smell which was unpleasant. Still, it’s a wonderful accommodation that I’d love to visit again! Thank you!
