A beautiful Hotel with delicious cuisine

What stood out most during this stay was the French cuisine at the restaurant “BLUNO.” It was truly delicious. Each dish was prepared with great care, and I enjoyed everything to the very end—not only for its beautiful presentation, but also because you could really taste the quality of the ingredients. Rather than just “Hotel food,” it made me think, “I want to stay here again just to eat this French cuisine.” It greatly increased my overall satisfaction with this stay. The Hotel itself was clean and comfortable, with a calm atmosphere. For bathing, you use the adjacent spa Facility. The water temperature was pleasantly lukewarm for a long soak, but I prefer hotter baths, so that part was a little disappointing. Even so, it was still a highly satisfying stay overall. In particular, I would love to enjoy BLUNO’s dishes again.

    Breakfast

Breakfast was excellent. The bath required a walk to the outdoor Onsen, which was a slight drawback, but the amenities were great, and overall it was an outstanding Hotel.

This is a hotel I would like to stay at again.

A refreshing rainy-day getaway in Okayama. This was my first visit to Uno. A simple, calm atmosphere with indigo as the main theme. I was impressed by the delicacy of the cuisine and the exceptional cooking that brought out the best in each ingredient. The thoughtful touches also came through in the amenities and breakfast. I didn’t use the Onsen this time, but I’d like to next time. Next time, I’d love to stay for two nights instead of one.

    A Wonderful Time

I’m originally from Okayama and now live in Osaka. I planned a trip to Okayama with friends, and one of them suggested the UNO Hotel. Traveling by train, I was surprised to find such a wonderful Hotel in Uno. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. We also went to Tamano-yu both days and enjoyed a relaxing time there. There were plenty of places for lunch, and the yakitori we had at night was the best I’ve ever eaten. I’ll definitely stay at this Hotel again and visit Uno!

We stayed as a family of three—a couple with our 1-year-old child. The staff were kind, and the Room was very comfortable. The corners of the furniture in the Room seemed to have protective guards, likely to help prevent bumps, which made us feel safe and at ease. The location was great, and we were happy to be able to use the nearby Tamano-yu as well. We will stay again. Thank you very much.

I stayed here during my visit to Naoshima.

We had a very comfortable stay. We had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant, and the service was excellent and the food was delicious. The Onsen after a full day of sightseeing on Naoshima was also wonderful.

    Sophisticated service and outstanding dining!

Close to the station, and the oceanfront Room feels wonderful. It’s a bit inconvenient that the Onsen Facility is located separately, but with this level of service, I have no complaints. The five-color juices at breakfast were a beautiful and delicious touch! The staff were also attentive and great. I’d like to stay again.

This is a very good Hotel.

I stayed at the accommodation to visit Naoshima. First, the dinner was absolutely delicious. I was impressed by the beautiful presentation and amazing taste. Although there are many interesting shops around Uno Port, choosing a dinner-inclusive plan turned out to be a great decision! Tama no Yu Onsen was also quite enjoyable; I used it three times. Initially, I thought walking outside at night might be cold or scary, but once warmed up in the onsen, the distance didn’t bother me at all. Other guests were also going back and forth between the accommodation and onsen, so moving alone at night felt safe. In the sharing space, foreign guests staying on the first floor were having dinner or tea. Some people might feel concerned about foreigners gathering in shared spaces? But for me, it created a nice travel-like atmosphere that I really enjoyed. The foreign guests seemed experienced travelers and made great use of the sharing space—I found that impressive! The room only had a shower, but with access to Tama no Yu Onsen, it was more than sufficient. From my room’s balcony, I could see the ocean and felt refreshed. Thank you for such an amazing experience! The staff members were multinational and very kind as well.

    How about the Hotel's response?

I booked a separate room with a plan that included facility usage tickets, as I heard there was an onsen facility called "Tama no Yu" just a few minutes' walk away. When I arrived after 3 PM and checked in, I was handed the usage ticket but informed that the facility was closed for the day. When I asked the receptionist if such information was displayed anywhere, she mentioned it should have been noted during the reservation process. However, as I had no recollection of seeing it, I assumed it might have been my oversight. She also explained that the facility usage ticket is more of a complimentary bonus and not directly related to accommodation. Since the onsen facility was unavailable, only shared shower rooms were provided. This was an important issue for me, so I inquired about canceling my reservation. The receptionist then handed over to what seemed to be her superior—a woman who addressed me without any smile or warmth. She firmly stated that there should have been a notice during booking and insisted there were no shortcomings on their part as a hotel. Her tone felt confrontational (though this is my subjective impression). Feeling uncomfortable, I asked whether check-out would be processed via machine or at the counter if I decided not to stay overnight. She replied curtly that "you are free to leave without staying; please come to the counter." The phrase "free to leave" left me feeling deeply unpleasant, so after spending about 30 minutes at most in total at their hotel premises without staying overnight, I checked out immediately. Naturally, no refund was issued. I acknowledge my own fault here—I understand why cancellation wasn't possible under these circumstances. However, what led me to decide against staying overnight and checking out early was their customer service attitude. In this scenic tourist destination overlooking Seto Inland Sea—when faced with guests deciding not to stay—their stance of having zero responsibility because they believed they had done nothing wrong as per policy left an extremely bad impression on me. Had they approached things more flexibly and encouraged me kindly towards utilizing my stay instead of taking such an adversarial approach—it could’ve made all difference. It’s truly disappointing overall!

This is my third year using the service, and I feel it improves every year.

I was satisfied with the purpose, location, and service during my first year of staying here by chance, and as soon as my visit dates are decided, I immediately make a reservation at this accommodation. The thoughtful yet unobtrusive service and the subtle gestures and responses from not only the front desk but also many staff members provide a sense of security and familiarity, allowing for a relaxing stay. While bottled water has been provided before, this year I was surprised to find a water purifier installed in the guest room! Additionally, equipment supplying water and sparkling water has been introduced in the shared space—another pleasant surprise! The area around Uno Station where the hotel is located has seen an increase in stylish new shops, making visits more enjoyable each year. Although it’s challenging to keep an eye on various sites until my preferred plan becomes available after deciding next year's visit dates, I definitely look forward to staying here again next year!

    This is my third stay.

This was my third stay as I visited for the Setouchi Triennale. Although I initially planned to stay at a more affordable accommodation and explore the new izakayas around Uno Port, I ended up coming back here. And it turned out to be the right choice again. The food was creative and delicious, and the young staff were friendly, making it feel like chatting with friends—it was so much fun! I enjoyed drinking a bit too much and got tipsy. Starting off with "Tamano-yu" was definitely a good decision. Another highlight of coming here is visiting the shaved ice shop "Omachi-do" near the port. This time, I was lucky enough to enjoy it without waiting in line for long! After having shaved ice, I strolled around and even participated in a survey by high school students working as staff for Setouchi Triennale—they were sweating but still gave off such positive vibes; it left me impressed by everyone's hard work. This time, we visited Teshima Island. Although there was already a line when we arrived just before ticketing started, it's exciting to see how this Seto Inland Sea art festival continues to grow each year. This hotel is part of that wonderful scenery for me, so I'd love to visit again if given another chance. Thank you to all the staff for your smiles and excellent hospitality!

    Meals and Onsen

The onsen is located in a separate facility, about a 3-minute walk outside. It might be challenging if it rains. In winter, you may wonder if it gets too cold, but the mild climate might make it manageable. However, depending on the weather, you could feel chilled after bathing. The room only has a shower booth, so if you'd like to take a bath, you'll need to visit the onsen facility. The onsen facility itself was excellent. The meals at the onsen facility are quite ordinary. As for the hotel's breakfast, the bread is disappointing. While croissants are naturally buttery and oily, these were excessively greasy—unlike any I've had before. It would be nice to have more standard bread options available as there simply isn't enough variety. If you're not fond of Eggs Benedict, it's wise to request an alternative in advance. As a base for visiting Naoshima, Teshima, and Inujima islands, this accommodation is undoubtedly the best choice in Uno. If you're staying in Uno, I highly recommend this accommodation.

A Base for Naoshima, Teshima, and Inujima

The location in front of the station is very convenient. The facility is new and clean. For single use of a twin room, usually, towels for two people are provided, but here there was only one set, meaning just for one person. This sometimes happens in rural areas. Since I went to the Onsen for bathing, I didn’t request additional towels, but it was quite disappointing. Please ensure that staff at the front desk can properly communicate in Japanese. When I saw someone struggling with check-in procedures and another staff member offered to take over, I also requested a change; however, they insisted on continuing despite taking an excessive amount of time just for check-in—it was frustrating. Check-in sets the first impression upon arrival at a hotel and is an important factor. The person who answered my call during prior confirmation seemed to be the same individual; please note that in Japanese language etiquette, responses should be "Hai" instead of "Un." Is no one teaching them this? Or do they simply not listen when instructed? I will write about breakfast and the Onsen experience tomorrow.

Compact yet clean, with a very delicious breakfast and excellent staff service. The location was convenient as it was close to the port. Visiting the Onsen early allowed for a relaxing soak. I had a comfortable stay and would love to visit again.

Convenient as a base for Naoshima sightseeing.

The bath changing room is fully visible from the bedroom. It would be fine for couples, but since we stayed as a family, it would have been nice to have a curtain or partition. Also, the bathwater is lukewarm. It fills the tub slowly, and the shower water pressure is weak. This is comparable to a budget business hotel. I would like the facilities to match the price. Other than that, the room's interior was nice, and the food was delicious.

Very satisfied with my first stay, but the bath is tough during the cold winter season. The food was very delicious.

    Stylish Hotel in Uno

Although it was before check-in, I was grateful to be allowed to use the coworking space. The interior features a refreshing design with a blue theme, making it stylish. It was unfortunate that the restaurant was closed on its regular holiday, but the breakfast served was visually appealing. I was also able to relax by using the Onsen Facility located about a 2-minute walk away. There was a minor mix-up at breakfast, but the staff handled it sincerely, leaving a good impression. Even in warm Okayama, January was quite cold, and the town was quiet, so next time, I would like to reserve a Room with a balcony in spring or summer and enjoy a leisurely sightseeing trip.

    Very satisfied

I stayed here before my trip to Naoshima. There is an Onsen nearby, and both the hot spring water and the meals were great. The room was clean, convenient, and stylishly designed with jeans. The breakfast was also delicious, with body-friendly smoothies and fresh salads. It was cost-effective, and I would like to use it again.

    The food was delicious.

I used this hotel for a 2-night, 3-day trip to Okayama. I chose this hotel because it seemed convenient for traveling to Naoshima on the second day. The room was spacious, and the balcony also seemed large. Since we arrived at night, we couldn't explore the hotel much. However, it was a very clean hotel. It seemed that more overseas staff were working than Japanese, and everyone was working happily with smiles. There were no inconveniences with the service. Dinner was served as a course meal, and it was served at a good pace. Both the appearance and taste were excellent, and I ended up eating everything, feeling full. The dessert included fresh cake, ice cream, and a variety of items like canelé, which was also great. Although we took two and a half hours to finish our meal from a late start (sorry), they responded politely without any unpleasant gestures. Breakfast was a proper course meal, and the six types of smoothies were unique. The Eggs Benedict was delicious! Breakfast took longer than expected, and we missed one ferry. If you have a tight travel schedule, it's safer to allow an hour for breakfast. If I had to mention a downside, the bath is a super sento (public bath) located a 3-minute walk away, or rather an Onsen, but it's a bit inconvenient due to the distance and the reception closing at 21:00, limiting the time you can use it. The Onsen and Facility were good, but that aspect was a bit disappointing. Overall, I think it's a good hotel. I recommend both dinner and breakfast.

    Satisfaction

It was a clean and quiet girls' trip Plan, with an enzyme bath included, and the Room was spacious with plenty of amenities, so there was nothing to complain about. However, perhaps due to recent trends, there was no phone, and we had to look things up on a tablet, which was a bit confusing for us who are not used to handling it. Other than that, it was a perfect score out of a perfect score.

I stayed for one night at a stylish hotel with an art and casual atmosphere! The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were very delicious. The meat and foie gras at dinner were exceptionally tasty! The breakfast smoothie was easy to drink and felt nourishing. I felt that the menu was very well thought out! There were many young staff members, and I felt that everyone was very courteous in their hospitality. I especially appreciated the attention to timing during dinner, which allowed me to visit the neighboring Onsen facility after the meal and enjoy the Onsen, making for a fulfilling night. Thank you very much!

    I had a pleasant stay.

This was my second stay. The location is unbeatable, being close to both the station and the ferry terminal. The facilities are new and clean, making for a pleasant stay. While having lunch at the hotel's restaurant, I learned that I would be taking a small boat to Naoshima at that time, and was informed that the boarding point was different from the ferry, which was very helpful. If I hadn't been told, I probably would have been wandering around the port. I thought it was a hotel with very high hospitality.

    I was able to relax.

I was able to spend a day of my late summer vacation. Above all, the food was very delicious. Also, I was very grateful for the various support provided in sending back the increased luggage I had.
