    The white squid was delicious.

    After seeing a limited-time video of white squid sashimi on YouTube, I really wanted to try it. It was my first time in Kasumi, but I made a Reservation just a week in advance and visited. Half of the white squid was served as sashimi and the other half was made into tempura; both were excellent, and having the proprietress serve our meal made it even more satisfying. The rock oysters we ordered additionally were also very large, creamy, and delicious. The Room was a clean Japanese-Western style room with an indoor bath, but it was disappointing that the chairs in the tatami area had no backrests, which became tiring. Also, the stone lining inside the bathtub was rough, so sitting or leaning against it hurt and made it hard to relax. Overall, we were very satisfied and would like to stay again in winter during the Matsuba crab season.

    A Cozy Accommodation

    Everything was comfortable. The staff, lobby, meals, Room, and bath were all clean and relaxing. The meals were thoughtfully prepared, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. However, it would have been even better if there had been a dinner menu. At other places I’ve stayed, they compile the menus into a file for easy reference. The illustrated breakfast menu was great. I quickly framed it with my watermelon eraser stamp and displayed it in my living room. It looks wonderful in the frame.

    A wonderful accommodation.

    This was my third stay. Last time I stayed in a newly renovated Room, but this time I chose the same Room as my first visit. It does feel a bit dated in places, but the in-room bath and washroom are spacious, and I might actually prefer this one. The large public bath is nice too, but the changing area isn’t very big, so it can get crowded depending on the time of day. The only thing I’d like improved is that the shoji screens in the Room let in a lot of sunlight, so I wake up early. I wish there were curtains or something similar. We had the live squid course meal again and, as always, it was delicious. The portions were more than enough and very satisfying. The rice is great (at breakfast too), so I end up eating more than I should. The pickled plum has that traditional salty taste—excellent. We also received a discount coupon for a melon smoothie at next door’s ICHJO and tried it right away—it was very good. All of the staff were pleasant, and we had a comfortable stay. We always come for squid, but next time I really want to visit during crab season.

    Every dish featuring fresh seafood is exquisite, with each bite showcasing the quality of the ingredients. Dining in a calm, relaxing setting feels like an indulgent escape—hard to believe it’s just a day trip. It was truly a blissful culinary experience that left both my stomach and my heart fully satisfied.

    Came to enjoy crab—completely satisfied

    Living on a pension, my wife and I decided we wanted to go eat crab, so we immediately started looking for an Accommodation. We chose this Accommodation and made a Reservation. We arrived full of anticipation. To give the conclusion first: flawless—10/10. Dinner was the Kasumi crab course (1.5 crabs). We quietly took nearly two and a half hours to fully enjoy the crab. Personally, the crab sashimi was the best. The dining area was a completely private room, and there were plenty of attendants who timed their service well, so we were never kept waiting and enjoyed everything deliciously. Breakfast was decent. After such a satisfying dinner, we were happy overall. The large public bath isn’t big since there aren’t many Rooms, but we hardly ran into anyone and it was very relaxing. The in-room bath was a maki-wood tub, and it had been a long time since I’d enjoyed such a nice indoor bath. The Room was just right for two people—clean and comfortable—and we had a pleasant stay. Considering the number of Rooms, there were quite a few staff members; both hospitality and service met our expectations. As I always think when comparing what we paid to what we received—this time it truly deserved full marks. We already had certain places in mind for crab trips, but now we have one more Accommodation to return to. We’re looking forward to next season as well.

    This was my second Reservation this year, and I was impressed that you remembered a companion with a shrimp allergy from the previous visit and confirmed it via email in advance. I have never experienced such thoughtful confirmation before, and I was deeply moved by your attentive service. Thank you very much. The food and hospitality are exceptional at this Accommodation. I look forward to visiting again with my family.

    Enjoy locally sourced meals to your satisfaction.

    This was my second stay after the renovation. The cleaning was thorough, and the Room was simple yet spacious. The large public bath had a chic and calm atmosphere with a black-themed design. There are two open-air baths, but they are small, suitable for one person each, while the indoor bath can accommodate about five people. Meals were served in private rooms; however, as the ceilings were open, voices could be heard clearly. Some dishes were served slightly late, which made waiting tiresome at times, but overall the food was delicious. It was raining when I left, but one staff member kindly saw me off until my car disappeared from view.

    Excellent Hospitality

    All the staff were very kind and provided excellent, courteous service, which made for a pleasant experience. It's rare to find such consistently great service from everyone. The accommodation and onsen were very clean and wonderful. The meals were abundant to the point of being more than we could finish—everything was perfect. We will definitely stay again!

    Highly Satisfied

    The food was not only delicious, but the staff's hospitality was excellent. The Room and bath were thoroughly cleaned and very tidy. The menu, which looked like a hand-painted postcard by the hostess served during breakfast, was also lovely. I would love to visit again!

    Third stay

    This was my third stay. The room was the special room "Hanaemu" of Sadasuke, and it was a stylish and nice room with an indoor bath. However, unlike the previous two times, the crab was a great disappointment. As for the dining area, I wondered why we had to have our most anticipated meal in such a small room? It felt like we were placed at a level where it was the darkest and narrowest compared to other dining areas. Why use such a room? It's questionable!! We went there looking forward to enjoying our meal, so this also greatly disappointed us. Moreover, unlike Ichijo (Ichijou) whom we visited last December, both the crab and sashimi were completely disappointing in taste. I understand that depending on circumstances at that time, there might be some differences in crab flavor; when I conveyed this message, even though the head chef came over to explain sincerely which made me feel their honesty... However overall serving style or explanation of dishes seemed quite different from before as if they became careless about it now... Considering everything is getting more expensive these days which might be unavoidable but still being highly reputed & becoming one of my favorite properties yet feeling disappointed is regrettable indeed! I believe they have maintained service & facilities above guesthouse level; overall it's still highly commendable property but hoping impressions won't change further would be foolishness on my part!

    I enjoyed a full course of Kasumi crab.

    All the staff were kind, and it was a wonderful trip. I am satisfied with the Room, Onsen, and meals.

    Excellent service

    The service was very polite and pleasant. The Nepalese staff were cheerful and kind, and their Japanese was very good. There was more crab than I could eat. I was very satisfied.
