Overall, a very satisfying Accommodation
Your first impression of an Accommodation is shaped by the staff. They gave me a wonderful impression and made me feel excited about the stay. It’s a small Accommodation with six Rooms, and I was told that four Rooms were occupied on the day of my stay, so it was nice and quiet. Everything I needed was provided, and since it’s all-inclusive, I truly appreciated it. I tried the stone-mill coffee experience. Grinding the beans myself was fun, and the coffee was delicious, so I was very satisfied. The Room was simple and clean, and I could relax comfortably on the large sofa. Both dinner and breakfast are served in the dining area. The food was tasty, and the portions were just right. Because it’s all-inclusive, it was great to try drinks I normally wouldn’t—like their recommended black soybean shochu and gin. I sampled a little of everything, including wine and sake, but ended up slightly hungover the next day. Breakfast rice was house-made Koshihikari cooked in a traditional kamado stove. It was so good that I had seconds even with a hangover. Almost everything was great, but there were a couple of minor points: The Onsen sauna never reached a usable temperature, so I couldn’t use it either time. Since one reason I chose this Accommodation was for the sauna, that part was disappointing. Also, the Room windows do not open. Ventilation seemed fine, but not being able to feel fresh outdoor air felt slightly uncomfortable—though this may depend on personal preference… On departure as well, one of the staff who welcomed me at check-in saw me off; even though they were busy, we had some nice conversations and it made me happy—thank you for your hospitality. On my way home I stopped by their affiliated souvenir shop and bought items recommended by staff—crispy dried firefly squid (hotaru-ika), their original coffee blend, canned conger eel (anago), etc.—and it made for a very satisfying trip overall.

Kasumi Holiday
Weekends in Kasumi are both fun and deeply relaxing thanks to Sadasuke ICHIJO. Since I work a half day on Saturday mornings, leaving Osaka after noon gets me to Kasumi around 3 p.m. As always, the staff member in charge rushes out to the parking lot to greet me with “Welcome back.” Everyone here is warm and kind to all guests. After check-in, I head straight for the Onsen. Of the three private baths, I choose the one with the low-temperature sauna. After a good sweat, I cool down with a refreshing shower, then go back into the sauna once more. After washing up properly, I sink into the tub—pure bliss. The water temperature is just right. Resisting the urge to doze off, I head to the dining room in my yukata (still damp with sweat) for a draft beer. Instantly revived. Two glasses before dinner. After stepping outside for some cool evening air, it’s time for dinner—the highlight of the day. Since my wife can’t eat shellfish, they kindly changed her dish to grilled nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch) with salt, while I enjoyed crab prepared every way imaginable—raw, grilled, miso-style and more. Late-season Kasumi crab has an especially rich flavor and is delicious! Beer goes down easily—but then I switch tracks to Kasumitsuru sake and enjoy it chilled from my own oversized cup. Maybe because it’s local sake enjoyed right here in Kasumi—it tastes exceptionally fresh and flavorful. To finish: their recommended craft gin. A full-course meal of crab and rice—and a full course of drinks as well. My wife polished off an unbelievably large nodoguro all by herself. When morning comes after such a pleasantly tipsy night in Kasumi, it’s back to the Onsen again—this time first thing in the morning. The alcohol from last night fades away and leaves just enough appetite behind. After a bath-time ice cream or two (of course), it’s breakfast: Yoka pork, local seafood and vegetables—all paired perfectly with glossy white rice harvested from Sadasuke’s own rice fields. It has great flavor and is truly delicious; they even grow it using crushed crab shells as fertilizer (though it doesn’t taste like crab). The more you chew, the better it gets. With my wife driving that morning: three draft beers at breakfast—pure happiness in a glass. I’ve written this like a travel diary—but if you’d like to spend a weekend like this in Kasumi too, all you need to do is make a Reservation at Sadasuke ICHIJO. For everyone who works hard amid busy city life—highly recommended.

We had a great time. Thank you very much.
We visited to enjoy Kasumi crab. The tagged crab was larger and fresher than we expected, and both the quality and quantity were excellent. The staff were cheerful and very pleasant, and they explained Kasumi crab in detail, so we had a comfortable stay. We would love to visit again if we have the chance.

Relaxation, healing, and renewed energy
I stay here several times a year. The Kasumi crab is just the right amount, and I never miss this season. This time, the cherry blossoms were in full bloom, and the cherry trees along the Yada River embankment were truly beautiful. On both the way there and back, I was able to enjoy views of cherry blossoms in full bloom along the embankments of various rivers. The Accommodation offers a consistently reliable all-inclusive experience. This time, I learned how delicious locally made craft gin can be, and there was also a lineup not only of local Kasumi Tsuru sake but also other regional sake that paired well with the meals—I could really feel the staff’s passion and youthful energy. After enjoying the Onsen and delicious food, I felt energized by seeing how hard everyone worked and headed home.

All-You-Can-Eat Crab Feast
I stayed here because I wanted to eat crab. It was my first time having so much crab—sashimi, grilled, tempura, and hot pot. The portions were incredible; I was shocked when each of us was served a sashimi platter (including crab sashimi) that looked like it could be for three people. The crab sashimi was rich, sweet, and delicious, but there was so much that it was hard to finish. The grilled crab and tempura were the best for me. The crab miso soup served at breakfast was also very tasty. The free drink service let us have whatever we wanted at any time, and we were even allowed to take drinks back to the Room, so we could relax and enjoy them there—this was great. The drinks in the Room refrigerator and the snacks were also free, which felt like excellent service. Since the bath is a private reservable bath, I think it’s ideal for anyone who wants a sense of privacy. The Room didn’t have much of a view, but it was spacious enough for three people and very clean with thorough housekeeping, so we had a comfortable stay. All staff members—including housekeeping—were polite and courteous, and they shared lots of local information with us as well. Thank you very much.

I was so happy with the full-course crab meal!
I couldn’t get a Reservation last year, so I booked early this year and was really looking forward to it! You picked us up, and since check-in was early, you took us to one of your affiliated shops. We had lunch there and were able to buy souvenirs. The Room in the Accommodation had kimono-patterned walls, which got me excited!! Since it’s all-inclusive, drinks were unlimited. Ice cream was also all-you-can-eat! There were three private baths, and we managed to try them all. The full-course crab meal I’d been looking forward to was so generous that I ended up completely full. Sashimi, steamed, grilled, shabu-shabu, and even rice porridge at the end— everything was delicious. On your recommendation, we also tried firefly squid. Breakfast was great too! The staff were very warm and welcoming, and this has become an Accommodation I definitely want to visit again. At the end, you also took photos of us in front of the Accommodation, which became a wonderful memory! It turned into a very satisfying crab trip! Thank you as well for the Shuttle Service.

The crab was exquisite.
The food was undeniably delicious. The all-inclusive option for alcoholic beverages and soft drinks allowed us to enjoy as much as we liked at our own pace, which was great. On the second day, heavy snow caused the trains to stop running. The staff kindly drove guests to Fukuchiyama Station, where trains were still operating, which was incredibly helpful and thoughtful.

First Private Villa Stay
I visited for the first time with my husband. The crab was delicious, and the rice was also excellent! There were three types of baths, and we tried them all. The staff were very kind, and on our way back, we sent some crab home from Kanichi-san. We would love to visit again soon!

Live Matsuba crab was slightly disappointing.
We ordered the live Matsuba crab course, but the grilled crab was self-cooked, and there were many non-crab dishes, making it difficult to enjoy everything at its best timing. The crab sashimi was slightly watery, and the tempura had thick batter, which made it hard to fully appreciate the quality of the ingredients. Although described as "small portions of delicacies," we couldn't finish all the non-crab dishes. We apologize for canceling breakfast as we were still too full from dinner. Additionally, on the first day, the private bath's water temperature was lukewarm, and the sauna's temperature was too low to use.

Fully satisfied with a crab feast.
This is my fifth visit, and the meals are a crab feast with exquisite dishes like crab sashimi and grilled crab. The all-inclusive plan allows you to enjoy local ginjo sake, as well as beer and wine, ensuring complete satisfaction. The baths include a large public bath in the main building, and if private baths are available, you can use them freely. Amenities are also well-stocked. This is an accommodation I would love to visit again!

What happened to "Ano Sadasuke"?
Perhaps the high expectations from the positive reviews were too much. Upon arrival, guests must place their own footwear in a shoe locker and change into indoor slippers provided. The key to the shoe locker is self-kept, and there are no staff present at this point. Upon departure, payment is made through an automated machine without any staff assistance. Guests retrieve their footwear from the locker themselves and return the indoor slippers to it. It felt similar to a public bathhouse experience. Additionally, I wondered when these indoor slippers are disinfected, especially during this time of heightened concern over infectious diseases. I travel approximately once every two months and pay a considerable accommodation fee for my stays. However, having to handle my own footwear storage, make payments via machines, and not even hear a "thank you" was a first in my life. I have fond memories of staying at Sadatsuke-san's main building with my family several times before; however, this experience left me feeling uncertain. Furthermore, during dinner when I wanted to prepare Japanese tea as I do not drink alcohol, there was no hot water in the electric pot provided. When I informed a passing staff member about it, they responded with "Someone just used up quite a bit for tea earlier," then walked away without addressing the issue further or bringing any hot water afterward despite me waiting for some time. It seems that there are fundamental issues with basic accommodation services at this annex building.

Thoughtful and comprehensive service.
The services were attentive and thoughtful. The natural smiles of the staff were truly comforting. While the building is new, it was meticulously cleaned, and every corner of the facility exuded cleanliness. Instead of being prominently displayed in front of the lounge, "The History of Sadasuke" was humbly placed in a discreet spot. Reading it made me realize how the values cherished by this Ryokan over time have contributed to its current reputation. I felt that the Ryokan's philosophy is reflected in each staff member's actions.

This time, it's all about crab!
In July, the white squid was delicious, so this time we visited to enjoy our favorite red snow crab. We used to visit other ryokans right after the Kasumi Crab season opened every year, but this time we decided to check out ICHIJO. The tagged Kasumi Crab was fresh and absolutely delicious, leaving us completely satisfied! We also enjoyed the all-inclusive drinks thoroughly. Breakfast was as delightful as last time. The freshly grilled flatfish was especially fluffy and tasty. We even finished off the pot-cooked rice made from homegrown grains! The staff were excellent—great service! The room facilities were very good too, but it would be even better if there were a small Bluetooth audio system compatible with smartphones. Please consider adding that feature! Since it's not possible to visit in winter with regular tires (sadly), we'll come again after spring.

It was truly relaxing.
I recently stayed at your accommodation. It was a new ryokan with spacious and very clean rooms. The restaurant offered unlimited beer, local sake, and soft drinks, and the room's refrigerator was well-stocked. Thank you for seeing us off until the very end when we left. Of course, the crab dishes for dinner were plentiful and the most delicious I've ever had.

Recommended Accommodations
I am a repeat guest. The accommodation is clean, the meals are delicious, and the service is excellent—this is my favorite accommodation. I was disappointed that my favorite plum wine was unavailable, but thank you for adding it. This is an accommodation I want to visit every year.

Second stay
The seafood-based meals, such as sashimi and simmered fish, were delicious. The Room and Facility were new, clean, and had a great sense of cleanliness, which was excellent. If I had to mention one downside, it would be the lack of a private bath in the room. As with last year, the staff were kind, and I was able to enjoy the fireworks festival from a great spot—completely satisfied!

A Cozy Accommodation
This was my first time staying at this accommodation, although I have visited Kasumi many times. The stylish and compact design made it easy to move around inside. However, the rooms on the second floor are only accessible by stairs, which might be a bit challenging for elderly guests with weak legs. The room was just the right size and very comfortable. The sofa allowed me to stretch my legs, which was helpful for my lymphedema. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious. I chose this place because I wanted to try the summer-exclusive white squid, and it was absolutely amazing with its sweetness! I’ve had freshly caught transparent white squid at another accommodation before, but this one had a superior sweetness. I also tried stone mill coffee in the lounge on the first floor—it was a bit of work but tasted great! Being all-inclusive with free access to soft drinks and alcohol was delightful! The selection of local Hyogo-made alcoholic beverages showed their commitment to local production for local consumption, which I truly appreciated as a patriot. The three private baths were very relaxing as well. At checkout, they took an instant photo of us with a Cheki camera that we now have displayed at home! We also received discount coupons for their affiliated shop where we bought delicious dried conger eel and horse mackerel on our way back. All staff members provided excellent service throughout our stay. Hopefully next time we can see their smiles without masks! We look forward to visiting again in September to enjoy our favorite red snow crab (Benizuwai-gani). Thank you so much!

Always.
Approximately 150 kilometers by car from Kobe, heading straight north through Hyogo Prefecture. This time, we stopped by Byakugouji Temple to admire the wisteria trellis before heading to Kasumi. We arrived a little past check-in time. The warm welcome instantly relieved our travel fatigue. After a short rest, we headed straight to the Onsen. Despite it being before dinner, we indulged in two servings of ice cream at the lounge and then proceeded to dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed Kasumitsuru sake and an abundance of Kasumi crab dishes, leaving us both physically and emotionally fulfilled. Conversations with the staff were delightful as always, allowing us to appreciate not only the food but also the heart of its creators. Breakfast featured freshly cooked rice served in earthenware pots alongside an array of side dishes that made choosing difficult! My mother always cherishes and takes home the handwritten menu by the proprietress as a keepsake of our visit. We'll definitely return again!

Onsen, gourmet meals, draft beer
This is our third stay during the summer squid season, and including spring and autumn visits, we've stayed more than five times. While summers in Satsu and Kasumi used to be all about swimming, now a trip centered around Onsen and squid is possible when staying at ICHIJO. The differences from traditional inns are: ① The staff are young, energetic, and refreshing. ② With three private baths available, one is almost always free for you to enjoy Onsen anytime. ③ The rooms are stylish with comfortable beds to sleep on. Additionally, as this accommodation is run by a broker from the fishing port, the meals are fresh with high-quality ingredients. The seasoning is perfect, making everything incredibly delicious. You can even pour your own draft beer or enjoy chilled sake from local breweries! My 89-year-old mother loved it; I enjoyed it as a sake lover; my wife who can't eat shrimp or crab was satisfied; and my still-active sister was also happy—it's an accommodation that satisfies all four of us as a family! Next time we’ve made a reservation to try Tajima Gyu beef—the pinnacle of Japanese Wagyu meat—and we’re looking forward to it!

An Onsen town on the outskirts of a small fishing village
Cross the river from Kasumi Station, pass through the cluster of accommodations, and turn left to arrive at Kasumi Onsen. This is my fourth stay at Sadasuke ICHIJO. Perhaps it's time to be considered a regular guest? Unlike traditional ryokans or inns, the staff here are young, polite, and exude a strong determination to further develop ICHIJO, which is refreshing. Since my wife has a shellfish allergy, they kindly provide separate meals: Kasumi crab for me and nodoguro fish with Tajima beef for her. The ingredients are fresh, perfectly prepared, and absolutely delicious. Additionally, there's free-flowing draft beer, sake on tap, and whiskey for making highballs as you like. With only six rooms in total and three private baths available anytime when unoccupied—each offering mist or dry saunas—you can enjoy relaxing onsen experiences almost whenever you wish. Honestly speaking though... I hesitate to write such glowing reviews because it might make reservations harder to secure!

The Best Accommodation
I am a Diamond member of IKYU and spend 1 million yen annually on travel. I have stayed at numerous accommodations, but this one offers exceptional value for money and outstanding quality. While spending more usually guarantees better service and meals, this accommodation provided satisfaction far beyond the amount paid. The Kasumi crab was incredibly delicious with undeniable freshness. The next day, I stayed at a high-end crab Ryokan in Taiza Onsen and had crab sashimi there as well, but it tasted like the tank water, making the difference crystal clear. If you want to enjoy both luxurious experiences and delicious crab, this is undoubtedly the place to choose. Thank you for your hospitality!

We went to enjoy the last Kasumi crab of the season. The portion size was a bit large for us seniors, but as expected from tagged crabs, it was very sweet and delicious. The Room and bath were excellent, and the friendly service from the staff made our stay truly comfortable. We will visit again!

Comfortable Accommodation
Thank you for providing such a comfortable and pleasant experience. After undergoing surgery at the end of the year and spending New Year's resting, I decided to visit this time. The staff's smiles, efficient work, and kind and detailed responses to my questions made my stay truly enjoyable. The meals were delicious and plentiful, leaving me completely satisfied. The Room was also a beautiful blend of Japanese modern style. Next time, I hope to stay in a Room with a view from the window. Thank you very much!

We visited again this year to enjoy crab, just like last year. The ultra-fresh local crab sashimi was truly impressive. We indulged in seasonal sashimi, grilled crab, crab hot pot, and tempura—such a feast that we were completely full! Everything was absolutely delicious. Additionally, you remembered my birthday and gave me an adorable handwritten crab-themed message card. Thank you so much! I look forward to visiting again next year.

The first crab of the year
We received a call the day before and were treated with exceptional hospitality. We were also given recommendations for sightseeing spots and ways to enjoy the area outside of winter. The meals were truly delicious, with generous portions that left us full, but we still had room for the final rice porridge. Breakfast offered a wide variety of side dishes, and the freshly cooked rice in a pot was delightful. Next time, we’d love to visit during a season other than winter!

Everything was excellent.
I visited Kasumi for the first time to enjoy crab. The crab sashimi, grilled crab, and crab hot pot were all thick and delicious, leaving me deeply impressed. The cabbage in the crab hot pot melted in my mouth despite being boiled for only a short time—it was the best cabbage I've ever had. After my bath, I enjoyed a coffee milk that was also very tasty. The staff were friendly and kind, making my stay very pleasant. I look forward to visiting again next crab season!

It was my second visit, but the previous one was in summer. This time, I came to try the crab dishes here. The meals were just the right amount and satisfying. As before, I enjoyed the delicious breakfast. Above all, this place is quiet, and you can have the bath to yourself, which is wonderful. The bed is also very comfortable. The staff at the Ryokan were perfect in their service. I was able to truly relax. Thank you very much.
