    Because we moved our trip home forward at short notice, we ended up making a Reservation the day before. From welcome to farewell, everyone at the Accommodation greeted us with warm smiles throughout. The meals—both dinner and breakfast—were just the right portions for us as a couple in our 60s, and everything was delicious. We especially enjoyed the local cuisine, steak, local sake, and local wine—it was wonderful. The younger staff also chatted with us while explaining the dishes, and our Room was quiet and relaxing, making it a great memory. If I had to mention anything, it would be nice to have two Room keys, and I would have preferred a lighter down comforter. Thank you very much.

    This was my first stay. It was a quiet, relaxing Accommodation, and I was able to unwind. Both dinner and breakfast were very delicious.

    A peaceful Accommodation in the heart of Kaminoyama City

    We stayed in a connecting suite with our large family. The Room also had a private open-air bath, which the children loved. A wide variety of drinks could be ordered for free, so we ended up having a bit too much. The view from the open-air bath—fresh green mountains and the countryside spreading out below—was truly soothing. We would love to stay here again on our next trip.

    Warm Accommodation

    We stayed during cherry blossom season. The building has a charming, historic feel, and since it was still chilly in the mornings and evenings, the hallways were warmed with heaters, making our stay very comfortable. The staff welcomed us with warm smiles, every dish was delicious, and with only a small number of rooms we were able to relax at a leisurely pace and truly unwind.

    It was very good.

    We stayed here as an overnight stop before joining a snowshoe tour to see the snow monsters at Zao Bodaira Plateau from Kaminoyama, as two women in our 60s. The Accommodation has been renovated, and rather than an overly elaborate “Japanese-modern” style often seen in refurbished Japanese-style Rooms, we appreciated the thoughtful touches such as reused fittings and wall hangings made from obi sashes. The calm color scheme was lovely. The only small thing is that it would have been even better if the washbasin in the Room were a bit higher. The large public bath was very spacious and relaxing. The wash area and amenities were simple yet clean and more than sufficient. We were grateful for the heated floor in the changing room. It would also be nice if there were clips to secure slippers after taking them off inside the building (we prefer to use the same slippers throughout our stay, so this would help prevent mix-ups). Making drinks all-inclusive with QR code ordering seems like a policy aimed at keeping staffing costs down given current circumstances, but service was still smoothly paced. We could enjoy delicious local sake without worrying about the bill, and because dinner was served in satisfying portions of excellent food, we ended up enjoying even more drinks—overall we were extremely satisfied. The Zao beef in particular was astonishingly good. Is the craft beer in the lounge locally made? Please list the brand names—craft beer lovers would enjoy it even more. Overall, between the snowy courtyard view and heaters warming up what could otherwise be chilly corridors, we felt a wonderful Tohoku atmosphere that let us truly unwind. We also felt comforted by everyone’s unpretentious, heartfelt hospitality and natural friendliness—it really conveyed Tohoku warmth. We would definitely like to stay again if we have another opportunity.

    I had a great time. ...

    I had a great time. Perhaps because my schedule was different from others, I was able to enjoy the accommodation almost exclusively without encountering other guests except during meals. The indoor bath and sink were a bit inconvenient to use, but overall it was excellent. Thank you very much.

    Facility

    The service, food, and all-you-can-drink alcohol were absolutely perfect. However, the guest room door was old, and I could hear footsteps every time someone walked down the hallway, which woke me up several times during the night. It would be great if the doors could be renovated.

    I had a relaxing time!

    This was my first visit to the Hayama area of Kamino Onsen, though I have frequented the region before. The facility seems to have been renovated, and both the Onsen and meals were satisfying. The dishes were not flashy but fresh, with tender and delicious meat. As I don't drink alcohol, I appreciated the non-alcoholic beer service. I'll definitely visit again!

    I was soothed by the spacious and relaxing atmosphere.

    This accommodation was our first choice for our initial trip to Yamagata. Thank you for upgrading our room. We were also allowed to use the lounge a bit earlier, where we enjoyed delicious wine in a room with Jazz BGM, creating a relaxing atmosphere. The quality of the onsen water was excellent, and perhaps thanks to drinking from the onsen's drinking fountain several times, there was no alcohol left in my system the next day. Since we had plenty of time before check-out, we were able to relax while enjoying coffee and matcha in the lobby area. Although it was slightly disappointing that seasonal mountain vegetables were not available as expected during this time of year, we are grateful for such an exceptional and accommodating stay at this wonderful accommodation.

    Wonderful

    This is a wonderful Stays. There are some areas where cleaning is not thorough, but the staff's hospitality and, above all, the food is impressively delicious. The all-inclusive alcohol service is prompt, and the variety, including local winery wines, was excellent. The private open-air bath in the guest room is quite hot, and temperature control is challenging, so having a water tap would be ideal. In any case, this is a highly recommended Stays, and I will definitely come again.

    Insufficient explanation

    During dinner, the staff's service was excellent, asking if the meal suited my taste. When I replied that it was delicious, they looked very pleased, making the dining experience very enjoyable. However, perhaps because the drinks were free or due to the smartphone ordering system, the alcohol was not served promptly even after ordering. I was left without a drink and wondered if my order had been forgotten, so I ordered again. It finally arrived, but it was the previous order. The staff then informed me that it was a refill system. I understood, but thought, shouldn't they apologize for the delay? I wasn't informed about the refill system initially, and what was supposed to be a pleasant last drink left me feeling frustrated and sobering up. Spending 80,000 yen for this... If it were paid, would I not have to wait so long? If so, I'd prefer to pay and enjoy my drinks comfortably. I won't be returning. For those planning to visit, please be patient with the drinks (laughs). I've stayed at many onsens, but this is the first time I've felt this way. The open-air bath in the room was perfect at 40 degrees when I entered in the evening, but when I tried to enter before bed, it was extremely hot at 52 degrees, and I couldn't adjust the temperature, so I gave up. I tried again in the morning... 52 degrees... Looking around, I found a hose and faucet, possibly for cleaning. It took 15 minutes to adjust to a suitable temperature before finally getting in. There was no explanation about this, and I'm not sure about using that hose... I wasn't told to contact the front desk if it was too hot, so I just let it be... I couldn't sleep well due to the frustration, which was disappointing.
