    I felt this was a hi...

    I felt this was a historic and luxurious Ryokan. I was especially amazed by the splendid, ornate convention hall where we had dinner and breakfast. The building itself feels like it has withstood many years of harsh weather, yet you can still sense its former grandeur. From the Room, we could enjoy a panoramic view of the vast Pacific’s rough waves and the cliffs of the Izura Coast that seem to carry thousands of years of history—it truly made me glad we came. That said, there were a few points that concerned us. The Room is based on a traditional Japanese-style layout with thoughtful touches for usability, but there is a large step between the tatami area and the space with the sofa set, so those like us with knee and lower-back issues need to be very careful. Also, because the entire Room temperature is controlled by an air conditioner in the tatami room, it felt difficult to adjust the temperature in the bedroom farther away. While many Ryokan have become increasingly digital recently, there were no complicated digital devices here, which actually made things easier for us to use. When we bought souvenirs at the shop and asked for shipping delivery service , we were told that shipping fees could only be paid in cash and that charging it to our Room was not accepted. We weren’t carrying cash, so we had no choice but to take everything home ourselves. There seemed to be various explanations given, but since this is something commonly available elsewhere, I hope you will consider improving this point. We really loved the meals. Many locally sourced ingredients were used, and every dish was deliciously prepared. In particular, the grilled dancing abalone was outstanding in freshness, size,, tenderness,,and flavor—everything about it was excellent.. The simmered red fish and shabu-shabu hot pot also had slightly richer,, sweeter seasoning that perfectly matched my taste.. I also enjoyed their unique breakfast dish where grilled mackerel is warmed in a small pot before eating.. The timing of serving each course was excellent as well,, allowing us to savor every dish one by one.. For access to public bath , walking down long covered wooden corridor from lobby lined on both sides with large glass windows felt open airy enjoyable . It was great bath experience . I don’t think there were any guest survey forms provided , but I thought it impressive how hostess visited tables during dinner greeting guests listening opinions naturally through conversation . All staff left good impression . The driver who took us station on departure day drove safely which appreciated . Thank you very much for your hospitality .

    It was a wonderful Accommodation with warm, generous hospitality, even during the busy Obon holiday period.

    My plans suddenly opened up this year and I managed to find an Accommodation, and even though it was a busy peak season, everyone—from the front desk to both younger and more experienced staff—was friendly and attentive, which made my stay very pleasant. Dinner was generous in portion size and absolutely delicious. The in-Room Wi-Fi was very fast and incredibly comfortable to use (lol).

    An open-air Onsen bath with spectacular views

    I chose this Hotel because I’m interested in Japanese art and it is close to Rokkakudo. All the staff were pleasant, the Onsen was excellent, and the view from the open-air bath right in front of the sea was wonderful—I ended up soaking for a long time. Rokkakudo was directly in front of my Room window, and I was happy to be able to enjoy the view whenever I wanted. The meals were very filling. The locally caught sashimi was delicious. Thank you very much.

    I’d love to stay here again.

    This was my first stay, and the service was the most courteous I’ve ever experienced, making it a truly comfortable visit. The food was absolutely outstanding—both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and I was completely satisfied. The Onsen was excellent as well, with two open-air baths—nothing to complain about! The property also felt very clean throughout. I’d love to come again!

    Used to celebrate my elderly mother.

    We stayed to celebrate my mother. At the banquet, they took a group photo with a digital camera and kindly gave us an A4-sized commemorative photo in a frame as a gift. Unfortunately, the camera’s resolution was low and the photo was blurry, so I don’t think we can display it. The meal was the (Seafood Cuisine Plan), described as “Ibaraki’s fresh seafood and the rare branded ‘Hanazono Beef,’” but the Hanazono beef was tough. Even after borrowing kitchen scissors to cut it, my mother couldn’t eat it at all. I don’t know if Hanazono beef is supposed to be tough, but it was extremely poor quality. Because we couldn’t tell how the courses would be served, we asked staff if there was a menu list. They said there was, so we received one copy, but if it exists, I wish it had been placed on the table from the start. The guest room was Japanese-Western style; the bed felt very old and caused my back pain to flare up again. The futon in the tatami room was also extremely hard—harder than anything I’ve experienced before. The Onsen was decent. The banquet staff were pleasant, but other staff who seemed like employees had no smiles—are they really in customer service? Overall, it was a disappointing Hotel.

    Warm, attentive hospitality

    Since it was a Room-assigned Plan, I went to the annex and then found out my Room was actually in the main building; it was close, but they drove me over. They also provided Shuttle Service when I went to use the annex’s scenic-view bath. All the staff were pleasant, and it felt like a very hospitable Accommodation. What disappointed me was that because it is free-flowing hot spring water, the temperature was too hot, and I couldn’t stay in the lovely open-air bath for even a minute. The walls were thin, and I could hear voices from the next Room. They weren’t being loud—just normal conversation—but it was clear enough to be distracting. It got on my nerves and made it hard to sleep. I often stay at older Ryokan and I’m not particularly sensitive, so if this would bother you, please be aware. The meals were delicious. I wish they sold the natto served at breakfast as a souvenir.

    The Onsen itself was...

    The Onsen itself was great with a nice view. Saltwater Onsen came out of the showerhead, which I was told was due to a malfunction. The changing room only had lotion, emulsion, and cotton swabs available. For meals, the sashimi at dinner and Isoura natto at breakfast were delicious. Thank you for your hospitality.

    Stay in the traditional main building and enjoy the attentive care of our staff.

    The plan includes dinner and breakfast, with no option to choose between the main building and the annex. Upon arrival, we initially went to the annex, but staff at the parking entrance checked the guest list and promptly guided us to the main building. The main building is a traditional wooden structure reminiscent of the Showa era, well-maintained and comfortable. On our way to the room, we were informed about the baths. When asked which was better, it was explained that while the main building features a garden-style bath, different from the ocean-view bath in the annex, there is also a shuttle service available for access to both. The garden bath in the main building was quiet due to fewer guests and felt like a private experience. The onsen quality was excellent—relaxing with lasting warmth after bathing. Dinner offered an abundant variety of dishes—almost too much for us as a couple in our early 60s—and breakfast was equally satisfying. Particularly notable were local specialties like Mito natto beans which were delicious. With accommodations including room, onsen access, and meals priced at 19,800 yen per person, it was an incredibly satisfying stay!

    Excellent service, breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, and a sky full of stars to enjoy.

    The staff's attentiveness and thoughtful care were truly impressive. The surrounding breathtaking scenery was remarkable, and we also thoroughly enjoyed the sunrise, sunset, and star-filled sky from the rooftop. Both dinner and breakfast were delicately seasoned, allowing us to savor fresh seafood and other dishes at a relaxed pace. This Ryokan is truly exceptional. I would love to visit again.

    Very satisfied with the service, thank you!

    This was our last family trip due to my father's illness (cancer). We communicated with the Hotel staff in advance regarding meals, and we are very grateful for their extremely pleasant and accommodating response. From the warm smiles during our welcome and farewell to the service during meals, everything was handled with such genuine kindness. While many places may fulfill customer service in form, very few truly provide a sense of comfort like this. We deeply appreciate how wonderful this trip turned out to be. Thank you very much!

    Very good, but...

    The atmosphere is very pleasant. The bathwater is great, and the view is wonderful. The complimentary matcha was also delicious. However, it would have been nice to have water service or a welcome drink, as even Business Hotels provide water in the refrigerator these days. The staff who served us had a lovely smile and made us feel very comfortable.

    I visited an accommodation near the TeamLab exhibition with a good Onsen. The Onsen had great views as shown in the photos, and I was satisfied with its benefits! However, I noticed some issues such as gravel in the open-air bath and a beehive on its roof, which made me concerned about cleanliness. Additionally, for an accommodation costing 20,000 yen per night, the room guidance, meal service, and food quality felt equivalent to accommodations priced around 10,000 yen per night. There were also staff at the shop who continued chatting even when customers were present. This left me feeling disappointed with the service for this price range. While I might consider using the baths for a day trip because they were nice, I wouldn’t stay overnight again if prices remain unchanged.

    The Onsen offers a stunning view of the ocean, allowing you to relax and forget time while soothing your daily fatigue. The meals, especially dinner, were delicious from start to finish and paired perfectly with the sake tasting set we ordered separately. Although there was an issue with the Room, we still enjoyed our stay thanks to the attentive service provided by all the staff. Thank you very much!

    Relax and unwind by the soothing sea of Izura.

    It was a local, long-established onsen accommodation. The building is old, but the room was spacious and comfortable (10-tatami mat corner room on the ocean side). The open-air bath facing the sea was amazing, with the sound of waves and a stunning view of Goiso Bay right in front of us. Since we stayed for multiple nights, they kindly prepared different dinner menus each evening. Thank you very much!

    Moderate

    Although it was a busy season, it was disappointing that the room did not face the ocean. Shuttle service between the main building and annex was provided, but to be honest, it felt inconvenient. Also, one towel was not enough. In the morning, when the baths switch between men and women, the transparent panel overlooking the sea was dirty, making it hard to enjoy the view while bathing. The meals were something I had high expectations for... However, it became a good memory overall. The staff's hospitality was excellent. Thank you very much!

    The view is spectacular.

    The building is old, but the renovated Room facilities are modern and satisfactory. The open-air bath offers a great view during the day, but at night, the scenery is barely visible. Dinner features local ingredients and is satisfying, while breakfast is unremarkable. For sightseeing, we recommend the Ibaraki Prefectural Tenshin Memorial Izura Museum of Art.

    Enjoy the perfect Onsen experience in a retro Showa-style lobby!

    You can enjoy both the sea and the mountains with great views, a spacious Onsen, and excellent water quality. We stayed for two nights, and the food was very delicious. I traveled with my elderly parents, and they kindly arranged seating near the entrance for us. I would love to visit again.

    Highly satisfied

    The onsen is amazing, and the meals are delicious. I always stay in the annex. The view of the vast ocean from the room is stunning, and you can see the sunrise on clear days. After check-in, I enjoyed complimentary matcha during a limited-time service. I found their attentive service to be excellent.

    It was a disappointing accommodation in many ways.

    Overall, the facilities and services were not particularly bad, but they did not feel worth the price. The accommodation cost was above average; however, there were issues such as tea utensils and pots in the room having stains or dirt, meals being served in a rushed manner like an assembly line, and ingredients I had declared allergies to being used. In short, everything felt rather careless. In particular, the staff serving meals left a strong impression of lack of consideration—they would place dishes on the table while walking by or push aside existing tableware with new dishes. One instance involved stirring hot rice porridge carelessly in a pot, causing hot grains to fly onto my child. It was shocking to see such inattentive service during meal times. If understaffing is an issue here, perhaps switching to self-service might be better. The room itself wasn’t dirty but showed noticeable signs of age without sufficient maintenance to offset this impression—another disappointing aspect of our stay.

    The Onsen quality was excellent in my opinion! We were looking forward to the all-anglerfish Plan, but unfortunately, it didn’t suit our taste. This might depend on personal preference, but the anglerfish sashimi and vinegar sauce had a fishy smell, and the porridge was too salty for elderly guests to enjoy. The Room was a spacious Japanese-Western style; though old, it was well-cleaned and offered a great view.

    Subtle

    The view is spectacular. However, the food is disappointing. (For example, the monkfish hot pot lacked flavor and depth in the broth.) Children's meals were served cold and unappetizing to the point where even kids wouldn't eat them. There are better dining options nearby, so it might be a good idea to eat elsewhere. Depending on the season, dryness can be an issue. Since there are no humidifiers provided, you may need to improvise by wetting towels and hanging them up. Overall, it was very disappointing and I would not recommend staying here.

    My mother was very pleased.

    We used the facility to celebrate my mother's 96th birthday. Previously, we stayed in the main building, but since it is not available on weekdays now, we opted for the annex. Just like the main building, my mother was very pleased with the service, bath, and food here as well. We would love to visit again if we have the chance.

    I used the "Leave the Room to Us" Plan with anglerfish hot pot. It was the best anglerfish hot pot I've ever had, with the fish being plump and delicious. The meal portions were too large for me, so I would appreciate a plan with fewer dishes. The open-air bath was comfortable, and the sea breeze was pleasantly refreshing, making it a bath I wanted to stay in forever. The room was a corner room on the pine forest side, and I could see the sea from the terrace. The Facility is old, but it was well-cleaned, and I had a comfortable stay. Next time, I would like to stay on the sea side.

    The Onsen was very good.

    Among the properties with onsen I visited in Ibaraki Prefecture, this onsen had the highest satisfaction! Both the spacious annex bath with a sea view and the main building bath in the forest were great. I was concerned about the musty smell in the room and throughout the facility, so it would be even better if that point is improved.

    A hotel where the price matches the content.

    The Room with the vast ocean right in front was very nice. The balcony was also spacious, so I spread out the yoga mat I brought, and while listening to the sound of the waves as BGM, I was able to exercise comfortably in the morning sun. This alone was very satisfying, but the bath also had a good sound of the waves and the view was good. The salt content made my skin smooth. The meals were just right, not too much and not too little. The allergy response was perfect. Thanks to choosing a Japanese-Western style Room, my sister, who has bad knees and cannot sit on tatami, was able to relax on the sofa and bed, which was good, but perhaps because the TV was poorly placed? The tatami Room was not very useful. I thought it might be nice to have a completely Western-style Room.
