    The setting sun.

    I was looking forward to the sunset, but I learned that it sets into the sea in winter. I didn’t know that. The Hotel also seems designed around the sunset, with both the Room and the Onsen facing west. It was so hot that we kept the curtains closed, and using the Onsen in the evening wasn’t possible either. Next time, definitely in winter.

    The bath is simply amazing!

    The bath photos were wonderful, so I made a Reservation. Right by the sea on the island, the location is excellent. Meals were served one after another despite how busy you must have been, so we finished quickly and were able to cut back on alcohol. Aside from the bath and location, it’s a truly quiet and simple place. The bath had a slight chlorine smell. The tea service was excellent. The Room was renovated, and we were able to stay in a comfortable environment.

    The hospitality was outstanding.

    I think the Hotel building and amenities are average. However, the service was excellent. I was especially impressed by the restaurant staff. Their explanations of the dishes, timing of service, and smiles made the meal even more enjoyable. Of course, all the other staff were also friendly and helpful with warm smiles. I had a truly pleasant one-night stay. Thank you very much.

    Solo travel

    I stayed for 2 nights and 3 days, and both breakfast and dinner were delicious. The sunset visible from the Room was beautiful; although it wasn’t the season for a “Daruma” sunset, I could still see the sun setting beautifully behind the mountains. I would like to stay here again when I visit Kochi Prefecture.

    The sunset was amazing!

    From the Room, we were able to watch the sun set. I was also happy to capture the exact moment it sank into the sea on camera. The Onsen was amazing! Soaking in the bath while enjoying breathtaking ocean views made both my body and mind feel completely relaxed.

    The breathtaking view from the Room is spectacular.

    The spectacular views from the Room and from the spacious public bath made this an outstanding Accommodation. The staff were kind and warm, and both the front desk and dining area provided pleasant service. What concerned me was the wooden clogs in the Room and the lack of a mirror in the Room. I stayed on the 3rd floor, and I was extremely bothered by the sound of clogs from upstairs. Why are there clogs for use in Rooms? I wondered… They also caused blisters, so I used disposable slippers that I brought with me while in my Room. I think the guests above were just walking normally. There is a mirror at the sink, but that meant I could only do my makeup there, and it was hard to check my outfit at the sink. Other than that, it was a perfect 5-star stay.

    The staff were very attentive, and the meals were delicious. I was able to relax and rest well. The sunset was truly breathtaking, and the Accommodation Fee was reasonable—an Accommodation I would love to stay at again.

    It was a relaxing experience.

    The view from the Room and the large public bath was excellent. The staff at the dining venue were friendly. The front desk staff felt a bit formal. The location of the sink in the Room was dark. There were not many sinks in the large public bath. Each individual pot of rice for breakfast was incredibly delicious. Thank you for your hospitality.

    The food is absolutely delicious!

    Both breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious. The seafood was excellent, and even the rice was so tasty that I’d love to return just for it. The guest room was simple, but the mattress on the bed was firm in a good way, making it very comfortable to sleep on. At the open-air bath during the evening, although it was cloudy, I could see a beautiful "ladder of light" over the sea, which made for an incredibly moving view. While access to this location can be challenging, I was truly impressed by how much value you get for such an affordable price range.

    The food was delicious, but the tobacco smell in the Room was disappointing.

    As soon as we entered the Room, there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke throughout, especially in the bathroom where the odor lingered the most. Since we do not smoke and dislike it, we felt disappointed with the Room. We also noticed insects in the Room and saw them several times in the washroom, which surprised us a bit. On a positive note, the view of the sea from our Room was beautiful, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The staff's service during meals was polite and excellent. Thank you very much!

    It was a great accommodation.

    The view from the room was amazing. The weather was perfect, and the sunset looked incredibly beautiful. The meals were more than sufficient considering the cost-performance ratio, but what stood out even more was the warm greetings and thoughtful service provided by all the staff at the accommodation. As it originally served as a public lodging facility, it seems to be mindful of contributing to the local community. The large public bath is also open for day-use visitors; however, it was particularly crowded during evening hours. It would be appreciated if access could be limited to overnight guests only during evenings on pre-holiday nights and in the following mornings.

    Not properly cleaned.

    I made the Reservation after seeing the photos of the bath. The bath with a view of the sea was excellent, but the floor of the powder room was always covered with hair whenever I used it. I reported this to the front desk and requested cleaning, but it was not resolved, which was very unpleasant. Additionally, it seemed that areas like the toilet were also not cleaned. This is very disappointing.

    It was an accommodation with a wonderful view.

    From the room facing Sukumo Bay, you can enjoy stunning views and beautiful sunsets. Both dinner and breakfast allowed us to fully savor the delicacies of Kochi. The warm hospitality of the staff became a wonderful memory. Walking to the island across the shore during low tide was also an enjoyable experience.

    Enjoy with Three Generations

    This was my second stay, and this time I visited with three generations of my family. We were very satisfied. The meals were delicious, and I was especially impressed by the tenderness of the abalone. The grandchildren even enjoyed fireworks after dinner. Thank you very much!

    From Kochi to Sukumo

    The bath was exactly as wonderful as shown in the photos, and I was able to relax completely. The ocean view from the window was stunning, and the meals were absolutely delicious. The Konatsu carpaccio was refreshing, and I even bought some Konatsu as a souvenir to take home. Although it was farther from Kochi than I had imagined, I chose this accommodation because I really wanted to stay here. It became a very memorable experience for me, and I'm filled with gratitude. I think this accommodation would also be great for those who enjoy fishing or swimming in the sea.

    I gifted my parents ...

    I gifted my parents a trip. They said the view from the Hotel Room was amazing. My mother requested a menu change to include seared bonito, which she enjoyed. The eggplant dish was delicious and left a great impression as my mother loves eggplant. My father, who enjoys seafood and sashimi, happily ate fried chicken and expressed gratitude for the fresh seafood.

    The meals were exceptional.

    The ocean-view room was well-maintained and clean. The Onsen was also kept clean and felt very pleasant. The meals were particularly delightful, with just the right portions, featuring dishes like a comparison of bonito flavors and carpaccio, which were very delicious.

    Excellent Accommodation

    The Room felt more spacious than it looked in the photos. The sunset view from the Room was beautiful. We chose a Plan that included dinner and breakfast, and the food was truly delicious with portions so generous we couldn't finish everything. We added spiny lobster, which was served as sashimi first and then made into miso soup—it was absolutely amazing. The view from the large public bath was also fantastic!

    Affordable and Excellent Accommodation

    I traveled to Shikoku with my elderly mother. Considering the next day's travel, we decided to stay in this Resort Hotel in Sukumo City. The view from the window was very beautiful. The meals were so plentiful and delicious that we couldn't finish them all. Our room was a Japanese-style room, so I think a bed would have been better for my elderly mother than a futon. It might be good to increase the number of rooms with beds. The selectable breakfast was also great; we chose Western-style, and it was luxurious even in the morning. Although it's not an easily accessible location, it was a very reasonable and excellent hotel.

    The view from the accommodation was wonderful, and the meals were very delicious. Above all, I was deeply moved by the heartfelt hospitality of all the staff. This is an accommodation I would love to stay at again when traveling in Kochi.

    The view of the sea from the Room was excellent. Similarly, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the sea from the open-air bath, making it a truly wonderful location. As for the food, it was fresh, plentiful, and almost too much to finish.

    Dinner time photo

    The Kaiseki meal at the accommodation was delicious. However, during dinner, staff were going around other tables saying, "Let's take a photo with your smartphone! It's a great memory!" We waited for them to come to our table, but they never did. It would have been nice to have a keepsake since we got to wear such lovely yukatas. What a shame.

    It was a wonderful accommodation that makes you want to stay again.

    We stayed on March 6th as a group of three. As mentioned in other reviews, while the exterior feels a bit dated, the interior is very clean, and the view of the ocean from our room was stunning. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. Although it’s a bit far from Kobe, this accommodation left such an unforgettable impression that we would definitely love to stay here again. Thank you for an amazing stay!

    Bath with a Great View

    The exterior may not feel like a resort, but the room has been beautifully renovated and offers an amazing view. In the large public bath, you can enjoy a stunning view of the sea and sun, making it incredibly relaxing. The bath features tiered areas with reclining baths, providing the best resort-like experience. I ended up soaking for a long time as I explored different spots. The meals were also delicious. The hotel staff are friendly and welcoming, making this accommodation highly recommended!

    The view was excellent.

    The weather was unfortunate on the day of our stay, but the sun came out just before sunset, and it was very beautiful. The meals were so plentiful that we couldn't finish them, providing satisfaction beyond the price. Definitely a repeat!

    A Heartwarming Accommodation

    The staff were very kind and attentive, for which we are truly grateful. This trip was to celebrate my husband's birthday. Thank you for warmly celebrating with us and making our stay so comfortable. We also appreciate the photos you took for us. Although the weather was unfortunate, the view from the Room was still wonderful, and we would love to visit again on a sunny day.

    The abalone hot pot ...

    The abalone hot pot for dinner was tender and delicious. We were very satisfied with both the variety and the taste. We were able to enjoy our meal at a leisurely pace. The onsen was also excellent. We were initially looking for a property to stay overnight before moving from Matsuyama to Kochi, but we are really glad we extended our trip a bit to stay at this Stays in Sukumo. We were also able to see a beautiful sunset.

    The Best Journey

    I spontaneously decided to take a trip from Kyoto. The hotel I chose with a reservation the day before was excellent. The view from the onsen was great, and above all, the taste of the dinner was very delicious, making me feel that they put a lot of effort into the cuisine. The breakfast was also extremely delicious. Why don't you all try staying there at least once! It's a bit far from Kyoto, but I would like to go again.

    The meal was delicious.

    I stayed for one night with dinner and breakfast included while sightseeing in Kochi at Cape Ashizuri and the Shimanto River. The dinner and breakfast portions were large and very delicious. The seared bonito was served at both dinner and breakfast, with multiple seasonings, which was very satisfying. It was nice that it wasn't a buffet. The large public bath had an open-air bath, which was great. The view from the room was excellent. The sunset over Sukumo Bay was beautiful. At night, the stars were clearly visible, which was moving. I saw stars for the first time in a while. The facilities were slightly old, which was a minor concern, but overall it exceeded my expectations, and I was very satisfied. Thank you very much. I would like to stay again.
