    Truly disappointing. Do not book with meals included under any circumstances.

    The meal Plan is truly not good. The staff were nice, but cost-cutting has gone too far in the wrong direction.

    Only the service was a saving grace.

    Squeaky tatami mats, a detached screen door, a torn chair, peeling wallpaper, a stained duvet cover, and a ceiling covered with water-leak stains… The changing area of the large public bath had weak air conditioning and no fan, which felt unsafe. Rather than simply being an old building, it seemed poorly maintained. I was very disappointed, as it did not feel like the kind of Accommodation I would expect after making a Reservation through IKYU. Late check-out until 11:00 was included as a perk, but breakfast and the large public bath were only available until 9:00, so the perk was meaningless. Many things fell short of expectations, but I was grateful for the front desk and restaurant staff who provided attentive service rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Thank you.

    The view and the Room are wonderful, but the food is truly disappointing.

    I used this Accommodation for a quick trip with a friend. We made the Reservation at the last minute with limited options, and since we both wanted to control how much we ate, we were drawn to the “French demi-buffet” and booked it. In conclusion, while the Facility was lovely and the view was great, the food was truly disappointing. I might consider returning with a No Meals Included plan, but I won’t stay again with meals included. [What was good] - We stayed in the new wing; the Room was spacious and had a great view - The lounge had a wide selection of drinks and snacks, which we appreciated - The Shuttle Service was smooth and helpful [What wasn’t good] - The food tasted bad overall. Since it was described as a demi-buffet, two main plates were served hot, but I was disappointed when meat that seemed slightly burnt and bitter came out. Other buffet items were also poor: carrot râpée that felt like it had been served straight from a jar with an unpleasant slick texture, omelets that had gone cold, meats and pasta dishes with flavors and textures like frozen foods. The best item was probably the pudding in a jar. It felt like the level of free breakfast at an inexpensive Business Hotel—and if you choose one that focuses on quality, even those can be better. Because I went in with expectations, it was genuinely disappointing. This time it was just a trip with a friend, but if I had chosen this Accommodation for an important celebration, I think I would have regretted it and ended up apologizing to my friend. - Service I didn’t mind that there weren’t many staff members, but there was very little explanation about the meal service; they spoke quietly and were hard to understand. There seemed to be something provided by the restaurant placed on our dinner table as part of their service, but because I couldn’t catch what they said, I didn’t know what it was. If only the service during meals had been better—but combined with the food quality mentioned above, it left me truly disappointed. - Bathroom in the Room The open-air bath in our guest room had a great view and felt wonderful; however, there wasn’t really any cover and it appeared to be left as-is outdoors (uncovered), so thorough cleaning before getting in was necessary.

    Thank you for taking care of us, even though it was just one night. All the staff were very pleasant. When we told them we were planning to visit Kinomiya Shrine, they gave us a voucher for a sweets set that could be used at the shrine, and thanks to that we were able to enjoy oshiruko and cookies. Thank you very much. There are many steep slopes on the way up to the Hotel, so I think it would be tough on foot. Dinner was great—the soup was especially delicious. We were able to relax in a Room with a private bath. However, I really wish there had been a round stool or some kind of simple chair at the sink in the Room. Women often spend a long time at the sink doing their hair and makeup, so having a chair would be helpful. The view from the Room was absolutely wonderful. I’d like to come again. Thank you very much.

    The breakfast was great.

    Thank you very much for your hospitality. Staff member Mr. S was very considerate and kind. The Onsen and the prepared black soybean tea were also great. We also enjoyed the welcome drink after arrival. If I had to mention something, I would have been even happier if the Onsen had been available until 10:00 a.m. the next morning. Also, I felt dinner could have included a few more dishes. Breakfast was very satisfying! Thank you very much.

    I think the prices are reasonable while maintaining the quality of the food.

    This was my second stay. I still remembered how delicious the food was when I stayed during the plum festival season years ago, and how good the plum, peach, and strawberry liqueurs were. At that time, breakfast was not buffet-style; it was served individually and was excellent. My wife saw a recent TV feature saying the breakfast was great, so we decided to stay again. This time, the main dish brought to our table at dinner was very delicious. However, since it was a half-buffet, the pre-prepared items were just average. I would be happy to pay a little more if you would stop offering dinner in buffet style.

    Overall, I was satisfied, but there were a few points that made me hesitate about staying again.

    [What I liked] - A spacious Room with a great view at a reasonable price. - The meals were delicious. - Coffee, hot water, and water are available 24 hours (I wish this had been explained accurately when I called to ask). - In the large public bath (women’s), each seat in the changing area had a hair dryer, rotating brush dryer, and hair iron—great selection. - Some seats in the large public bath (women’s) changing area also had facial devices. - They also lent me a hair iron, so I could get ready in my Room as well. - The stone sauna was a nice bonus. [What disappointed me] - The light switch in the Room was peeling off; it felt unsafe so I didn’t want to touch it much. It should be fixed. - There is no hand-washing sink near the indoor toilet by the entrance, so you have to walk to the sink by the window without washing your hands each time. This may be difficult to change structurally, but switching from a tankless toilet to one with an integrated hand-wash tank might help. - There was cleansing oil in the large public bath (women’s), but not in the changing area. It would be helpful to have at least one there as well. - There is no Shuttle Service from Atami Station. Even if paid, a round-trip Shuttle Service would be helpful—especially just a morning drop-off service would likely be in demand. You could require Reservation by the day before if needed. - My phone inquiry wasn’t answered clearly enough to resolve my questions. - Since there is no private bath, having only one tub in the large public bath feels disappointing/limited.

    Smart Check-In

    Easy check-in via smartphone in advance, and you can also reserve the Shuttle Service early for peace of mind. While I initially thought it might be walkable from the station, the steep slope made using the Shuttle Service a great choice. The Room did not have a private bath, but with an Onsen available, it was no issue. The Room was clean as well. From what I observed at the restaurant, there seemed to be many solo female travelers. All staff members were pleasant and professional. A small note for one young male staff member: it's better to say something when passing directly in front of guests. As for the meals, I felt they matched their price point appropriately.

Dining: - Despite being the second group to enter, the main dishes were served last, and the grilled fish & meat were cold. - Buffet dishes ran out quickly, leaving later guests standing in confusion. 2. Smart Check-in & Check-out: Pre-registration was completed but had to repeat the same process at the lobby, making it pointless. 3. Five Special Benefits: Advertised as "Five Special Benefits for Women," but there were no selectable face masks or beauty devices like facial massagers or hair irons available. 4. Staff: - No greetings or explanation about breakfast time changes; several guests waited 30 minutes in the cold at the entrance without guidance. - When reporting a broken coffee machine in the lounge to staff at reception, they only placed a handwritten "Under Maintenance" sign without cleaning up spilled coffee.

    Fireworks Festival

    I stayed here again during the fireworks festival because I had a great experience in May. This time, I booked a room with a view of the fireworks. The main difference from last time was the meals. While the main dishes (fish and meat) were served, other items were buffet-style. However, there weren’t many options at the buffet. The fish was tough and dry, while the domestic beef was delicious but overpowered by red miso; simpler seasoning might have been better. Perhaps due to many guests staying for the fireworks festival, it felt like there wasn’t much thought put into the food preparation. For example, specific serving times for fish and meat dishes were listed on the menu—this made it hard to relax in Onsen without worrying about time. Although my fish arrived on schedule, my meat dish was delayed. Breakfast was also disappointing; there wasn’t rice or particularly good bread available. While I appreciated the quality of Onsen water and found that new facilities offered great value for money, meals left much to be desired. Next time, I might skip meals altogether since dining out isn’t an option due to location nor is visiting convenience stores nearby feasible at night—perhaps opting instead for premium bento boxes paired alongside leisurely mornings before checking out around 10 AM followed by enjoying breakfast either near Kinomiya Shrine café or venturing towards Atami afterward sounds appealing! Keep striving forward!

    I had a relaxing time.

    I was a bit worried about staying with small children, but everything went smoothly with meals and the bath, allowing us to relax. The kids were very happy in the Japanese-style room and had a great time. The stone sauna was also very warming and felt wonderful.

    Affordable and Convenient

    The buffet has changed and now you can eat to your heart's content. The accommodation fee is reasonable, which is appreciated. I was very satisfied with the onsen and the stone sauna. It's great that the massage chairs are free to use. I want to visit again soon!

    It was the best value-for-money accommodation.

    Great value and an amazing Hotel! First of all, I was surprised by the size of the Room! It was so spacious that I could easily spread out my luggage, which was very convenient. It was so comfortable that my friends and I ended up relaxing with drinks until late at night, and we missed the chance to enjoy the morning bath because we couldn't wake up in time (haha). The breakfast was also excellent! I thought it would be just average for the price, but it turned out to be hearty and absolutely delicious. This Hotel is definitely a repeat for next time—Done!

    Favorite Accommodation

    I have used this accommodation several times to enjoy the bath, stone sauna, and relaxing drinks in my favorite room. The facility, staff service, and cleanliness are excellent, making it a popular choice for solo travelers of all genders. This time, since it had been a while since my last visit, I decided to prioritize the room as usual but upgrade the meal plan inspired by "Gourmet Trip" and "Creative French Cuisine." I chose the "Premium Creative French Demi-Buffet Plan - Kiwami," which offers seasonal premium creative French cuisine. Although my stay was before the buffet plan officially started, it was noted that meals would be served as course dishes instead of a buffet—perfect for us who prefer not to have buffets! We were looking forward to it. Unfortunately, the food did not match what was described in the plan. The first dish with bonito had an unpleasant color and smell that surprised us. Following that were similar-tasting dishes like potage soup with clam chowder sauce and gratin accompaniment... The fish was tough; the meat had too much fat with little edible portions left. After these main courses came pasta—we hoped for better—but even then, parts of it were hard at the edges... It seemed like all dishes shared similar preparation methods overall. Regrettably—and apologetically—we left most of our meal uneaten... During previous visits when we opted only for light meals instead (which tasted great), I hadn't checked reviews beforehand this time around; upon returning back into our room afterward though checking them revealed many others mentioning similar experiences regarding their dining disappointments too—something now regretted overlooking earlier myself! Aside from dining issues however everything else about staying here remains wonderful including its facilities themselves being highly appreciated still today hence why future stays will likely continue under No Meals Included plans going forward instead. --- **Important Notes:** - Guests staying on or before July 15th (Tuesday), 2025 will receive course meals during their stay. - Menu offerings may vary depending upon weather conditions or ingredient availability adjustments made accordingly where necessary

    A very cost-effective and comfortable Hotel if it suits your purpose.

    I stayed for three nights for a workation, as the price was just over 10,000 yen per night with two meals included. I stayed alone in a spacious twin-bed room of over 20 square meters. Although the new building was visible right outside the window, my room on the fourth floor of the main building offered a partial view of Atami's sea. The large windows made the room bright and pleasant on sunny days. The public bath had only one area and no open-air bath, so I rated it three stars. However, I gave five stars to the facilities due to these excellent points: 1. The stone sauna attached to the women's public bath warmed me deeply and relieved my fatigue (men have access to a sauna). 2. ReFa showerheads and hairdryers were provided in the public bath area. 3. A facial steamer was available for free use in the changing area of the public bath. 4. Massage chairs were available for free use in shared spaces. 5. From 3 PM to 5 PM, complimentary sparkling wine, red/white wine, coffee, soft drinks, crackers, marshmallows, and other snacks were served. Dinner consisted of a light French course meal—sufficient for middle-aged women but possibly not enough for younger guests or men with larger appetites. Breakfast was a Western-style plate featuring typical items like egg dishes and salad; however, menus changed daily and tasted good overall. While seafood from Atami wasn't served at meals and bread-heavy options might feel repetitive after several days, considering how affordable this accommodation is, there wasn’t anything significant to complain about. Dinner featured chicken one day followed by pork or beef on others—with noticeable effort put into varying ingredients daily—showcasing great dedication by management! Overall rating: five stars. Check-in processes are handled via smartphone apps; staff presence felt minimal yet manageable if expectations adjust accordingly.     We recently stayed a...

    We recently stayed as three families. After making a reservation online, I called to inform the hotel that there were two pregnant women, one child aged 1.5 years, and to request adjacent rooms if possible. Although I explained everything over the phone, the response made me wonder if it would be okay. Later, I informed them that one of the pregnant women would no longer be joining us. On the day of check-in, we scanned a QR code and completed everything online, including reservations for dinner and breakfast times. Since we had reserved three rooms for two people each, one representative from each room scanned their QR code to make meal reservations. (The front desk staff were very polite but did not provide any explanation about these procedures.) At dinner time when we arrived at the venue, meals for the child and pregnant woman were significantly delayed in being served. When we asked staff about this issue, they said it was due to an error in how our reservation was made on our end—despite no such explanation being given during check-in! (Other adult meals were served promptly.) For the pregnant woman’s meal specifically: they claimed it took longer because raw ingredients needed cooking; however upon seeing what was served—a salad with seafood replaced by just greens and quiche—it left us puzzled as quiche can typically be pre-prepared ahead of time. To make matters worse despite informing them beforehand via phone call regarding dietary restrictions related questions like "Can you eat raw food?" were directed towards someone who should not have been asked causing discomfort among everyone present. When explaining events leading up-to-this point including lack-of-clear communication since initial contact instead-of resolving concerns amicably certain members displayed visibly unprofessional behavior escalating into arguments further souring experience altogether! Towards dessert phase amidst dealing cranky toddler situation thoughtful gesture offered suggesting deferred serving next morning breakfast yet failed follow-through ultimately leaving impression disorganized inattentive service overall lacking hospitality hallmark expected reputable establishments disappointing dining quality compounded negative sentiment ensuring decision avoid future stays entirely!

    The room is dirty.

    There was a significant amount of dust accumulated under the bed and sofa, indicating that overall cleaning was not thorough. There were even forgotten items under the bed that seemed to belong to previous guests.

    1. This is a hotel suitable for young people. (Even if you're not young, it's suitable for those who can easily operate a smartphone) 2. Lobby: It has a clean feel and a good atmosphere. There is an all-you-can-drink service for alcohol and other beverages with a time limit. There are also some snacks available. You can watch movies on the sofa, but the images projected by the projector were hard to see, possibly due to the wall color. 3. The new building has many spacious areas overall, and the interior is neat and pleasant. (I only went to the main building for meals, so I'm not sure about it) 4. The vending machines have alcohol and juice, and there are also some snacks. The ice vending machine was difficult to see inside because it was dark. 5. Elevator: The doors close quickly, so if you're not careful, you might get caught in the doors. 6. Recommended if you want to stay cheaply. The meals were ordinarily delicious. 7. It's quite high up in the mountains, so there are no convenience stores.

    Overall satisfied.

    The new building's spacious Room was very clean. Being on the first floor, there was no view of the sea. Both dinner and breakfast were disappointing in terms of meat. For breakfast, sausages and bacon would suffice. It would be nice if the large public bath had an open-air bath. For those who love alcohol, the welcome drink is excellent!

    It was good.

    I stayed in an ocean view room. I was very pleased to find that welcome drinks such as beer and wine were provided. Check-in is self-service and is done using a touch panel. The room key is accessed by entering a PIN, and reservations for meals and other services are fully digitized using QR codes. From the room, I could enjoy a wonderful view of the city and sea of Atami. The room's toilet was clean and well-maintained, which left a good impression. However, I was concerned that the tatami mats were a bit worn out. The meals were very delicious. The only disappointment was that there was no open-air bath in the bathing area. Overall, I had a very good time and it was a satisfying stay.

    Surprise!

    As soon as you enter, you set up your mobile, and then immediately set up with a QR code upon entering the Room. There's no time to feel the travel mood. After taking time, registration is completed successfully. I went seeking relaxation, but stress increased. This kind of situation will probably increase in the future. But even the silver generation has to ride the wave! The French meals at night and in the morning were very delicious. It was quite good. The staff were polite in their language and everyone was smiling.

    Both dinner and brea...

    Both dinner and breakfast were terrible, and I deeply regretted not choosing a room without meals. This is a place I never want to stay at again.
