    The hospitality was outstanding.

    We stayed with a same-day Reservation, and everything was excellent. We arrived later than planned and were almost late for our dinner Reservation, but every staff member remained welcoming and provided outstanding service. Thank you very much. Both the open-air bath and the indoor bath were great. The dinner and breakfast were especially delicious, and the all-you-can-eat grilled fish at breakfast was wonderful. We would definitely like to stay again on our next visit.

    The food is delicious.

    Since this was a Reservation during the rainy season, we were worried about the weather, but although it was mostly cloudy, it didn’t rain and we had an enjoyable trip. The Accommodation is small, but it has more than the essential Facilities and served delicious meals, so we had a very comfortable stay. One disappointing point was that the Onsen water smelled strongly of chlorine. I understand it’s necessary for hygiene, but the chlorine smell lingered on my body for a long time, so I hope this can be improved.

    A clean and charming Accommodation

    We were able to relax thanks to the courteous service and the new, clean facilities. I truly want to support the young staff who are working hard, but the woman who served breakfast gave explanations in a shy, very quiet voice, as if she had been made to read from a script. Since we couldn’t just ignore what was being said, we had to strain to listen and even “act” interested so it wouldn’t feel awkward. It was tiring even though we were simply having breakfast. When it feels like someone is being forced to do it, guests end up having to be considerate; if it’s done reluctantly, I think it would be better not to give an explanation at all. I do want to be understanding toward younger staff, but I’m a guest—not a teacher or a parent. Also, I originally made a Reservation with breakfast included and later considered adding dinner, but neither the details nor the price were shown on the official website, so it was difficult to decide. Even when I called to ask (which is understandable since they weren’t culinary staff), the explanation was vague and I couldn’t really understand. Calling a small Ryokan also requires consideration of timing, so it would be very helpful if all necessary information could be provided on the website so everything can be completed there.

    Peaceful Moments

    Although it’s not a large Accommodation, everything we needed was well provided, and the staff were calm and kind, so we were able to relax and enjoy our stay. The welcome drink, as well as the ame-yu and kuromame tea after the bath along with an ice pop, were a lovely touch. The meals were delicious, with a variety of fish to enjoy. At breakfast, I thought it would have been nice to have soy sauce on the table. We stayed in a Room on the 3rd floor, but for some reason we repeatedly heard heavy footsteps coming from above, and once there was a loud squealing noise from the air conditioner that startled us. Lastly, we stopped by Yagi’s weeping plum tree that a staff member recommended at dinner—it was incredibly beautiful and impressive, and we were truly moved. Thank you very much for the recommendation.

    Still great value for money

    This was my first stay in two years. The accommodation, including the room and facilities, was well-maintained as before and very comfortable. I was also highly satisfied with the free drinks in the lounge and the large public bath. There is a restaurant I wanted to visit near the accommodation, so I didn’t have dinner at the accommodation, but breakfast was sufficient in both quality and quantity. However, since there wasn’t much change in the menu compared to my previous stay, it might feel repetitive if visits are too frequent. With some improvements in this area, I believe it could become an even more satisfying accommodation.

    Highly praised by my mother-in-law

    We used this facility for a birthday trip for my mother-in-law and husband. The staff provided excellent support for dietary restrictions and allergies, allowing us to enjoy our stay with peace of mind. The service rating is 4 because there was no explanation at check-in about the use of the Plaza Awajishima bath, which was included as a benefit, and I had some concerns regarding the response when I called the reservation center to discuss meals. The first person who assisted me was polite and reassuring, but the second person’s language and manner were somewhat inappropriate, leaving an impression of rudeness. The room was very clean and comfortable to stay in. The meals were delicious; even my mother-in-law, who runs a restaurant herself, kept saying how tasty everything was. It turned out to be a wonderful trip—thank you so much! I appreciated that rice balls were prepared as a late-night snack; however, wrapping them while still warm can release additives from regular plastic wrap. It would be great if additive-free wrap could be used (I ended up not eating them because I was concerned). For breakfast, the flounder dish was absolutely delicious!

    Delighted with the excellent service and delicious cuisine at the restaurant.

    This was my first stay at this accommodation. It was cozy, the service was attentive, and everything was excellent. During dinner, I forgot to mention that I’m not fond of sashimi and left a little on my plate, but a female staff member showed great attention to detail and care. Additionally, during breakfast, a male staff member provided pleasant service and friendly interaction. Both of them were very natural in their approach and left a great impression. Thank you so much! The food was all delicious and lived up to the reviews—I was extremely satisfied. Thank you again! Just one small thing: it would have been nice if there had been an extra face towel for the onsen in the room since I also took a morning bath. It’s not a big deal though. This has become one of the accommodations I’d like to visit again if given the chance. Thank you very much!

    No Meals Included

    I stayed here about five years ago in winter with a 3-year Torafugu course. I visit Awaji Island every summer for hamo and every winter for fugu, but since hotels with onsen-equipped rooms are concentrated in Sumoto, this time I decided to stay in Minami-Awaji after a long time. This hotel is very compact and does not have rooms with private onsen, but since there are only a few rooms, the large public bath was almost like having it all to myself, allowing me to relax. The location was convenient as the seafood restaurant I wanted to visit was just a few minutes' walk away. While I usually choose plans that include breakfast and dinner, this time I tried staying with no meals included for the first time. Although it required going out for dinner, it was great not being tied down by breakfast times and enjoying a morning bath at my own pace. As someone who loves onsen and always stays in rooms with private baths so I can soak until just before departure, skipping breakfast allowed me even more leisurely bathing time. The 11:00 AM checkout was also very appreciated—it's rare to find no-meals-included plans offering such late checkouts. The room we reserved seemed to be the smallest one available, but since we were only using it for sleeping after enjoying the onsen, it wasn’t an issue at all. At check-in, the staff kindly asked if we were okay without dinner and even offered recommendations for nearby restaurants if needed. We had already made reservations elsewhere for dinner so there wasn’t any problem; however, their thoughtfulness towards guests staying without meals left a great impression. This stay felt incredibly affordable considering how much we enjoyed ourselves despite choosing no meals included this time around! Even without an onsen-equipped room of our own, being able to enjoy such wonderful hot springs exceeded my expectations—I’m completely satisfied!

    The Room and cuisine are excellent.

    I stayed for one night and used the parking lot. The dinner was delicious, with desserts being particularly elaborate and very tasty. The staff serving the meals provided detailed explanations. One thing I would like to see improved is the noise when placing dishes on the table; it felt a bit loud, and I think it could be done more quietly. As for the bath, I was quite bothered by the smell of bleach. Since my main purpose wasn't to enjoy an Onsen but rather to refresh myself during a one-night stay, it was still acceptable...

    Small Accommodation

    I had a comfortable stay. For dinner, I asked the front desk for recommendations within walking distance, but two out of the three places they suggested were closed. Perhaps there are fewer open restaurants on weekdays? I think this is a good accommodation for a relaxing stay, especially during less busy times on weekdays and knowing it’s a small-scale facility. On my way back, I bought Awaji Island onions at a nearby supermarket. It was cheaper than buying them at the service area, which was great!

    It was calm and pleasant.

    As a relatively small-scale accommodation, it was quiet and peaceful. The public bath was on the smaller side (understandable for a small ryokan), and the location was not near the sea, so it was disappointing not to enjoy views from the accommodation. However, all the meals were carefully prepared and delicious. The service and facilities were also excellent.

    Used it to show appreciation to my parents.

    Thank you for your hospitality. Your attentive service from check-in was greatly appreciated. This time, we chose the Japanese course meal, and the dinner at "Shinsen Ryori Bandai," an izakaya about a 5-minute walk away, was extremely delicious and satisfying (please note that while not mentioned on IKYU.com, walking is required as described above). The Onsen had excellent water quality and was very relaxing. While there is no view from the men's bath, it seems that the women's bath offers a scenic view of Fukura Port.

    The length of the shower room curtain...

    The room was very clean and I was very satisfied. One disappointing point is that the shower room curtain is short, causing water to splash onto the floor of the adjacent toilet... There was also a drink service next to the front desk on the first floor, which made my stay comfortable.

    Comfortable

    There was no hustle and bustle or rough feeling of a large Ryokan. The cleanliness and the natural hospitality of the staff made my stay comfortable. The scale of the Onsen also provided a sense of security and enjoyment. However, the washing area and changing room were a bit cold.

    I am satisfied with the staff's service.

    It is a small Hotel, but it has been renovated, and we had a comfortable stay. If the Onsen were a bit larger, it would be perfect, but it was a bit cramped, so I deducted one star. Overall, the satisfaction level was high.

    This is my first time using it.

    This is my first time using this Hotel. It was a more compact Hotel than I expected. Since it is a Hotel in the Hotel New Awaji series, I had quite high expectations, but.....(sweat) One of the reasons was that I expected too much, but especially regarding the bath, I'm really sorry (cry).

    The meals are absolutely wonderful.

    I revisited because I wanted to eat the meals here. I regret leaving some food because the portions were large, but both dinner and breakfast were very delicious. I am satisfied. The chlorine smell in the large public bath is probably unavoidable, but the cleanliness of the guest rooms, large public bath, and dining area is impeccable. I was able to spend my time comfortably again. The service is average.
