    This was my first st...

    This was my first stay, and the views from the Room with an open-air bath—and from the open-air bath itself—were incredible, with nothing obstructing them. The meals were also very satisfying; both dinner and breakfast were just the right amount, neither too little nor too much. The staff provided kind and attentive service, which was excellent. I visited all six Onsen baths, and every one of them was wonderful. It was a Ryokan I would definitely like to stay at again.

    Great views and great hot water.

    The bathroom overlooking a small waterfall was excellent, and the hot water was great. The Room has been renovated and kept clean, but the Facility felt somewhat dated. The meals were generous in portion size, but the overall quality was lacking. I felt it would be better to reduce the number of dishes and invest more in the main course.

    The bath was excellent. My husband loved it so much that we immediately made another Reservation, looking forward to the open-air bath with autumn foliage.

    100% Satisfying Family Trip

    The quality of everything, including guest rooms and amenities, hospitality and service, onsen and baths, facilities, and meals, was excellent. I rated the onsen and baths as 4 instead of 5 because I felt the benefits of the onsen could have been promoted a bit more. However, in essence, it deserves a 5. After checking out, I visited various restaurants and tourist information centers. When I mentioned that I stayed at "Tange Onsen Misatokan," people responded with comments like "Of course! It's a great ryokan," as it seems to be a well-known facility in the area. My impression is that Nakanojo Town works together as a community to enhance visitor satisfaction. I would love to stay here again.

    Breathtaking View from the Bath

    Thank you very much for your hospitality. We traveled as a family with my elderly mother. Considering her needs, we chose a room with an open-air bath, but since it was on the basement floor, going up and down the stairs was challenging. If there had been an elevator, it would have been perfect; I regret not inquiring about this with the accommodation beforehand. Even without an open-air bath in the room, there were plenty of options like the large public bath, private baths, and waterfall-view baths, so I realized we didn’t need to be too particular about it. That said, we thoroughly enjoyed all the baths—the view of waterfalls from the baths, the sound of rivers flowing by, fresh green leaves including blue maples—and relaxed completely while soaking in them. The stained glass in the morning at the large public bath was also beautiful and added to our experience. Perhaps because it was during Golden Week or because it's a secluded accommodation deep in the mountains—it was truly quiet and peaceful. We were able to spend our time leisurely and comfortably. Thank you very much!

    Large number of stink bugs detected

    We chose this accommodation to celebrate my husband's special occasion. Thank you for preparing a lovely room. However, at check-in, we were informed about a "large number of stink bugs," but it was beyond our imagination. We dealt with nearly 30 stink bugs overnight, catching them repeatedly with the tape provided, yet they kept appearing. When heading from the room to the private bath at night, the hallway and stairs were in such a state that it was difficult to walk without stepping on them. A fellow guest in the indoor bath mentioned they couldn't sleep due to the overwhelming presence of stink bugs and felt nauseous from their smell. While this may not be entirely within the accommodation's control, it is abnormal for guests to be unable to rest peacefully. For those with insect allergies, this could be life-threatening. It would have been appreciated if we had been informed of the situation before cancellation fees applied; other accommodations in remote areas have contacted us beforehand in similar cases. Although I believe this is truly a wonderful accommodation under normal circumstances, even with coupons applied, it felt extremely expensive given our experience. It was a disappointing and sad stay overall.

    The facility is splendid!

    As part of the birthday plan, a bottle of Iwahara red wine was included with dinner. The meal was delicious, and sharing the red wine between two people was satisfying. It would be nice to have a menu available. The staff were all cheerful and kind, making for a pleasant stay. The onsen had a gentle touch that made my skin feel rejuvenated. Especially the indoor bath Seoto-no-Yu had an amazing design similar to Hoshi Onsen Chojukan. There are two private open-air baths with good views along the river, but they were lukewarm due to winter. The interior used plenty of wood and displayed sculptures, making for an impressive design overall. A short walk from the property seemed to lead to waterfalls and forest parks as well. I wanted to take my time enjoying them, but since both the outside air and corridors were cold, I hope to visit again in warmer seasons.

    Onsen Stays in the Woods

    This was my second stay. I checked in earlier than last time. I thoroughly enjoyed the onsen. I would like to use it again. It was nice to be able to use credit for the checkout payment. As a hidden onsen, please continue for a long time.
