    It was a great-value Hotel.

Thank you for the wonderful and delicious meals at such an affordable price, and for the cheerful and kind staff. This Accommodation would be perfect if it had an elevator.

I was soothed by the blue sea.

The ever-changing expressions of the sea from the Room never get old. Facing east, we could see the sunrise through the large windows, and at night we enjoyed gazing at a star-filled sky that felt close enough to fall from the balcony. Having a large public bath in the Hotel is wonderful—it really helps you unwind. The meals were delicious, and especially the conger eel rice bowl we had for dinner was piping hot, fluffy, and truly excellent. Being on a remote island must come with many challenges, but this was an Accommodation that made us hope it will remain a warm, homey Hotel just as it is.

    Thank you for your patronage.

Weekday one-night stay. No vacancies in the main building, so stayed alone in the annex lodge. Enjoyed the charm of autumn insects' chirping and the sound of waves. Spacious room with four bedrooms. Single-type Business Hotel room with combined bath, sink, and toilet facilities. Onsen is located in the main building but was no issue for single use. As described, I enjoyed the sound of waves as a positive aspect. Although Onsen was unavailable at reservation time, it was accessible on the day of stay—relaxed in an empty Onsen bath. Looked forward to dinner featuring luxurious use of fresh ingredients from Tsushima, showcasing its seasonal specialties and dedication to quality. Also anticipated a traditional Japanese breakfast set meal. Despite flight cancellations causing a delayed arrival, I received great hospitality—thank you very much!

The view from the restaurant and rooms is spectacular.

A Hotel where you can enjoy the beautiful sea and fishing lights. The Room was spacious and clean! A highly satisfying Hotel.

    Satisfied with the meals

The meals included local-style cuisine, and the sashimi was delicious. Above all, the staff at the dining area provided warm and unpretentious service, making it a relaxing experience. It was unfortunate that the Onsen was unavailable due to a boiler malfunction. The Facility is not new, but it was well-maintained and clean.

    I stayed in Cottage ...

I stayed in Cottage Room 301. While yukata were provided as expected, I found a used and crumpled yukata inside one of the drawers in the room. It seems it was overlooked during cleaning, but encountering such a situation is very unpleasant. Additionally, while new yukata were available, they were placed on the stand meant for suitcases. Since this is where potentially dirty suitcases are placed, it is inappropriate to put clothing that comes into direct contact with the skin there. In this regard, I must say that this Hotel lacks proper training for its cleaning staff.

    Stay without expectations.

It is challenging to recruit staff on a depopulated remote island, and with the aging workforce, maintaining and expanding operations in the future seems difficult. Meanwhile, the facilities are deteriorating and require repairs. A lack of investment in repairs becomes evident during a stay. The room carpets are stained, closet doors do not close properly, hair is found in the bathtub and drains. Dinner tempura arrives cold as if it has been sitting for some time; dining at local restaurants offers a better experience. Breakfast from a supermarket might be more enjoyable than what is provided here. Mold can be seen throughout the Onsen area, and using a hairdryer causes power fluctuations that dim the lights. The Onsen uses recirculated water. Both management and staff must already be aware of these issues. In comparison, Iki Island—also facing depopulation—offers more well-maintained accommodations. Is this due to its proximity to Fukuoka City or differences in management philosophy?

    An elevator is required.

Stayed for 2 nights from Thursday, March 20th in a twin room on the second floor. The shuttle service to the airport and Gonoura Port was very helpful. The onsen was the deciding factor for choosing this accommodation. As it is a two-story building, there is no elevator, which made carrying luggage challenging for elderly guests. The bathroom is a unit bath and quite small. Dinner was kaiseki cuisine at the restaurant, and breakfast on the first floor offered both Western (good) and Japanese options, both of which were satisfying. The restaurant has great views and is frequently used by locals as well. There were few international visitors, so it was always quiet. Smoking areas are available on a spacious observation terrace; however, it can be uncomfortable during rain or wind. A hotel I would like to stay at again when visiting Tsushima Island.
