    The Room was compact...

    The Room was compact, but it didn’t feel particularly cramped. Since there were no window screens, it was a bit troublesome that insects could get in. There was also no insect spray provided in the Room. The meals exceeded what I expected from the Reviews, and I was very satisfied. The bath with excellent spring quality was also very good. Amenities were provided in appropriate amounts, so I didn’t feel any inconvenience. Also, there are no convenience stores nearby, and there are hardly any shops between the highway interchange and the Accommodation, so I recommend preparing what you need in advance.

    Did you go all out at dinner?

    For dinner, we chose the luxurious full-course Maezawa beef option. Every dish was absolutely delicious, but the portions were honestly too large for us (next time, the standard Plan will be more than enough). The open-air bath in our Room and the open-air bath at the large public bath were both excellent. From check-in to departure, the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout—this is a wonderful Onsen Ryokan that makes you want to come back.

    It was quiet and relaxing.

    I visited with my father in his 80s. I chose this Room so he could enjoy the in-room Onsen whenever he liked. My father and sister stayed in the same Room, but unfortunately there was no curtain or other partition in the changing area of the shower booth, so my father felt embarrassed and didn’t use the open-air bath in the Room. However, he said there were not many people in the large public bath, so he was able to relax and enjoy the Onsen. He was also pleased that the Accommodation was not crowded, and that it was quiet and relaxing—he said this kind of Accommodation is really nice. My sister fully enjoyed the open-air bath in the Room as well, which was a relief. She also enjoyed listening to and watching the river flow. The meals were delicious and we finished everything. All of the staff were kind, so we felt at ease throughout our stay. This is an Accommodation I would like to visit again.

    Unfortunately.

    The facility, service, and Onsen were excellent, but it was disappointing that the cushions were made of urethane and uncomfortable to sit on, and the refrigerator was empty. It would have been nice to at least have some mineral water!

    A nostalgic and charming Onsen town

    As mentioned in the reviews, the exterior is a rather secluded and old building, which may feel unsettling. The room with an open-air bath in the annex was much smaller than expected, and the overall age of the property is noticeable. There is no elevator, only stairs. The meals focused on mountain delicacies; I found them sufficient, but some might feel they are a bit small in portion. The plates used were very appealing to me. The menu seemed to have a lot of processed items overall, and I felt it lacked some balance or consistency. Breakfast included freshly made tofu and was well-balanced and delicious; however, I would have appreciated better coffee quality. Check-out time was 11:00 AM, allowing for a relaxed departure. The hot spring water was excellent as well. The surrounding area has few shops but is rich in nature; therefore, I refrained from exploring just to be cautious. Being near majestic Lake Kinshuko on my way back by car, I encountered bears—two cubs about 3 meters ahead on the opposite lane—and their mother must have been nearby too. With construction happening everywhere and workers around as well, it felt concerning at times. Given how abundant nature is here, visitors need to stay vigilant for safety reasons—I do not recommend strolling around for this reason alone!

    Delighted with the luxurious meals and the open-air bath in the Room.

    This was my first visit. Although Yuda is a bit far, I decided to go because there are several attractive accommodations in the area. I took the opportunity to stay in a room with an open-air bath. The exterior had an old-fashioned look, but the interior and room were clean and well-maintained, which was pleasantly surprising. The room was compact and easy to use, with thoughtful indirect lighting that created a resort-like atmosphere. I started by using the large communal bath. Since this accommodation doesn’t have many rooms, it was quiet and relaxing to enjoy the hot spring at my own pace. Next, I tried the open-air bath in my room. The water temperature was on the hotter side but could be adjusted by adding cold water. The bathtub size was just right for quick adjustments, allowing me to relax while watching the river flow by. For dinner, I ordered a course that included all of their main dishes as I had been looking forward to it—and every dish exceeded expectations! It felt worth splurging on this meal as everything tasted delicious without being overly filling; even older guests could finish comfortably. Beyond taste and presentation, even the tableware added charm to enhance our dining experience fully. At night, enjoying beer while soaking in my private open-air bath felt absolutely amazing. Being able to take multiple baths anytime during the night brought immense happiness. Breakfast was simpler compared to dinner but still flavorful—especially their handmade tofu which had a rich taste and stood out as particularly delicious. Although staying in a room with an open-air bath comes at a slightly higher price point, it provided such high satisfaction that I would definitely choose this type of accommodation again for future visits.     Service by New Staff

    The arrival day was rainy, and the river next to the Room swelled, which was a bit frightening. However, the weather cleared up the next day, making it a wonderful trip. During dinner, our server seemed to be a newcomer and still getting used to things; it felt like watching our own child as their nervousness and dedication came through. The warm hospitality made for a pleasant stay. Thank you for bringing my forgotten item all the way to the parking lot. I look forward to visiting again in another season!

    The service and meals were excellent.

    It was my first visit. The Facility is old but thoughtfully arranged to create a comfortable space. Above all, the staff's moderate hospitality was pleasant, and the meals, though not extravagant, were extremely delicious and of high quality, leaving me very satisfied. The design of the yukata, the basket provided in the Room, and the tea utensils in the Room were also refined and enjoyable.

    The open-air bath was very relaxing.

    We were looking forward to our visit, though we were a bit worried about the limited train schedule and heavy snow. The room was spacious enough, and during our stay, the snow had just stopped. It wasn't too cold, and we enjoyed a beautiful snowy river view from the window. At night, the illuminated scenery was stunning. Despite many people being in the lobby at check-in, we could almost always enjoy the Onsen in a private-like setting. The outdoor bath with a view of the snow was very relaxing; however, we were surprised by how dark it was at night. Since there were many elderly guests as well, perhaps brighter lighting would be better. The meals were delicious and not overly filling. However, it was slightly disappointing that there wasn’t any explanation about the dishes—perhaps due to how busy everyone seemed to be. The dining area had underfloor heating which made it very comfortable to enjoy our meal while admiring the snowy landscape outside. Although the building is old and there are some minor things that stand out because of this, everything is kept clean and tidy. The staff members are very kind, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Onsen facilities as well as our overall stay here—thank you!

    We used the Annivers...

    We used the Anniversary Plan. They kindly accommodated our request to bring in a cake for a surprise, making it a truly memorable and wonderful trip. The meals and Onsen were fantastic. It was the perfect time for autumn leaves, which we enjoyed from both the room and the bath, leaving us deeply impressed. We hope to visit again in a different season. Thank you for everything!

    A quiet and serene accommodation for adults.

    We booked this accommodation with a semi-open-air bath in the room, looking for a quiet place to spend time as a couple. It was the peak of the autumn foliage season, and the view from both the room and the bath was breathtaking. Before our stay, we were slightly concerned about reviews mentioning thin walls in the rooms. While we could hear conversations and noises when our neighbors used their open-air bath, it was otherwise very quiet, allowing us to enjoy relaxed conversations. Additionally, there were few encounters with other guests in the hallways, dining areas were semi-private, and futons were pre-prepared in our room so staff did not need to enter during our stay. These factors allowed us to fully enjoy private time without much interaction with others. The staff's hospitality struck a perfect balance between attentiveness and maintaining an appropriate distance, which made us feel very comfortable. We were especially touched when they quickly came out with umbrellas to greet us upon arrival in the rain. The meals exceeded expectations—lavish dishes made from high-quality ingredients prepared with great care—and we thoroughly enjoyed both breakfast and dinner. Thanks to this wonderful experience, I wanted to express my gratitude through this review. Thank you so much!

    Satisfaction

    Although it is an old Stays, it was neatly organized and I had a pleasant stay. The meals were also delicious. Of course, the Onsen was also good.

    The hot springs and meals are wonderful.

    If you are hoping for delicious meals and a good hot spring, I think the cost performance is good, but you should not expect much from the facilities. Compared to the photos, they are quite worn out, and if such things bother you, it might be better to avoid it. Also, I think the Western-style room was probably designed by someone not very experienced, as the layout is quite inconvenient. Especially in a yukata, the raised area (bed part) is very difficult to get onto, which was quite frustrating. The construction is full of oddities with the lighting and doors. The private open-air bath's hot spring is indeed wonderful with its free-flowing water, and the view of the river is nice, but the hot spring temperature is quite hot, just barely tolerable for me, so those who prefer lukewarm might find it a bit tough. The meals were seasonal, and the rice, in particular, was sweet and very delicious. The dishes were also wonderfully tasty.

    Overgrown with weeds... huh... here?

    I arrived a little early, but it seemed like there were no lights on and no one around, which made me anxious. I felt that the exterior needed some maintenance. I visited again after three o'clock, and at that time, a staff member came out to greet me as soon as I arrived, and the lights were on, which reassured me. It seems that the place is fully booked during the cherry blossom and autumn foliage seasons. The best part here is the cold water. When I left the large bath, I turned on the shower out of habit, and wow, it was so cold and refreshing—it was amazing. When I returned to my room, the same cold water was prepared in a pot, and it was very delicious. I felt completely refreshed.

    Reservation Notes

    The dinner, featuring both seafood and mountain delicacies, was very satisfying. The private room was spacious and comfortable. As a note for room reservations, it would be helpful to know whether the room is on the first or second floor, as the building is two stories without an elevator. I was fortunate to have a room on the first floor this time, but I think this information is necessary for those who have difficulty with stairs.

    It was excellent!

    I used it after the Omagari Fireworks Festival. I was very grateful that rice balls were prepared for a late-night snack. It was nice that the hot spring was open until late at night. My shoes got covered in mud in Omagari, but by the time I put them on in the morning, they were polished clean! It was truly an impressive service!!!
