A Ryokan where everyone cheers together
No added value. The hot spring water is very good, but don’t expect much otherwise. It may be worth it if you think of it as paying an admission fee to visit a Registered Tangible Cultural Property.

Excellent Ryokan
The Onsen is wonderful. I enjoyed it multiple times. Although old, it was very clean and well-maintained. I hope it continues for a long time. I will visit again.

A charming and traditional accommodation
We stayed as a couple at this accommodation, which is designated as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property. True to its reputation, the exterior, rooms, and stairs all exude charm. The stairs are polished but quite steep, so it might be best to visit while you're still physically fit. Inside the accommodation feels like a maze; it took us until the end of our stay to fully grasp the layout. Our room was located around two and a half floors up, making it convenient to access the large public bath on the first floor. However, reaching the private baths on higher floors required climbing more stairs—good exercise! The room was purely Japanese-style with a clean and comfortable atmosphere. The private baths offered an open and relaxing experience with perfect water temperature—highly recommended! The large public bath on the first floor alternates between night and morning use for variety, which was enjoyable. I particularly loved the hot bath; though I could only stay in briefly due to its high temperature, it left me feeling refreshed and invigorated—a different kind of satisfaction compared to saunas. The quality of the water is exceptional and ranks among the best in Yugawara. The service was unobtrusive yet attentive enough for us—it felt just right. It seemed like a family-run operation with an ideal balance of presence without being overbearing—perfect for those who prefer minimal interaction. Even during meals, their timing felt appropriate (though they cleared other tables slightly early). For dinner, we enjoyed dishes such as grilled abalone and sashimi served in wooden tubs (we chose this specific course), showcasing Yugawara's fresh seafood at its finest. As frequent visitors to Yugawara accommodations, we’re certain we’ll return here again!

Firefly Festival
I searched for accommodation within a 10-minute walk to enjoy firefly viewing at Manyo Park. It was a charming and quaint accommodation with friendly staff that made me feel welcome. I would definitely like to stay here again when visiting Yugawara.

Perfect for Family Trips
We stayed in the annex for a three-generation family trip. The open-air bath is on the 4th floor, and the stairs are steep, which might be challenging for elderly guests. However, the meals were delicious, and the annex was new, clean, and comfortable. We will definitely return!

The proprietress and...
The proprietress and all the staff were very kind, the food was delicious, and the Onsen was excellent. I look forward to visiting again.

A historic building and wonderful hot springs
I stayed during the November holiday. The building is designated as a registered tangible cultural property of the country, and it has a very historical feel. The interior is, of course, old, but it is well-maintained down to the smallest details. Moving between the main building and the annex is like a maze and quite enjoyable. I actually stayed for a multiple night stay, but I couldn't grasp the entire layout of the building, haha. The onsen has a source well on the premises, and the water is only diluted, making it very warming. Personally, I liked how the onsen's minerals accumulated at the outlet. For meals, I chose the sashimi course for dinner, and all the local fish were delicious. The dried horse mackerel for breakfast was particularly salty, which I liked. The staff in charge of the meals were very active and greeted us pleasantly. We also enjoyed chatting while dining. The room was a simple Japanese-style room, but it had the necessary minimum and charm. The sitting area on the veranda (?) was very ryokan-like and nice. Unfortunately, I couldn't use all the baths this time due to bad timing, so I would like to visit again! Please note: 1. There is no elevator inside, and the stairs are steep, so those with leg concerns should be cautious. 2. The roads around the ryokan are narrow, so large vehicles should be careful when passing each other. 3. It seems that only VISA cards are accepted. 4. Depending on the room, there may not be a hairdryer in the room. 5. This may be an issue on the guest's side, but the laughter from the neighboring room can be a bit distracting.
