    I was able to relax and recharge both mentally and physically.

    This is an Accommodation I have stayed at many times, and once again I was able to relax and truly enjoy my stay. I was also satisfied with the thoughtful services such as snacks and drinks. It was posted that this is the 19th anniversary, and in line with the years since opening, I could feel some aging in parts of the large public bath and the building. I think continued daily maintenance would help maintain comfort. One small disappointment was that the male staff member in charge of serving dinner provided somewhat rough explanations and service operations. It felt like there may be differences in service quality among staff members.

    This was my third stay.

    This was our third stay, including the annex, for a 1-night/2-day trip (2 guests) during the busy summer holiday period. Since dinner Reservations were first-come, first-served, we checked in at 15:00. 1. The time we Reserved at check-in was extremely crowded with long lines, which caused confusion. Since it was a Reservation, we hoped the process would be smoother. 2. The Room is barrier-free, but the door design lacks soundproofing and noise from inside is noticeable. The bathtub in the Room also felt old and somewhat lacking in cleanliness. In addition, the in-room table is small, and there is no luggage rack for suitcases, so there isn’t enough space to place our belongings. 3. For meals, it seemed you took our disliked ingredients into consideration, and we appreciated the attentiveness. However, there were few drink options and the selection felt limited. 4. The evening activities and complimentary services such as traditional snacks and drinks were nice for families with children, since the area around Gora Station gets quiet early at night and there isn’t much nearby. 5. Inside the Accommodation, guidance for parking and reception left a good impression; however, improvements are needed regarding access routes to the dining venue and ensuring emergency evacuation paths are kept clear due to luggage stored nearby. There were some issues, but overall it was a stay where we could feel the staff’s thoughtfulness. Thank you very much.

    This was an Accommod...

    This was an Accommodation I was very satisfied with. The private bath and the in-room bath were especially wonderful, and I was able to relax and fully enjoy the Onsen. Overall, I felt it offered great value for the price. For breakfast, rice, miso soup, raw egg, and natto are available for unlimited refills, but the initial serving was already generous enough that refills weren’t necessary—I was very satisfied. For dinner, you can choose from two course options; however, at check-in on the first day, the sushi & shabu-shabu course was fully booked. Even so, both courses were excellent in both quality and portion size, and everything was delicious. The amenities were also well stocked, and I appreciated the snack service as well as the wide selection of yukata provided. There were complimentary ice cream and coffee services along with late-night soba throughout my stay, which made me feel how extensive the services were. The late-night soba was also very tasty. If I had to mention one area for improvement, it would be dinner service. Sometimes water or tea was provided at the start and sometimes it wasn’t; also, there were times when drinks weren’t refilled unless we asked. That point stood out slightly, but aside from that I was extremely satisfied overall and would definitely like to stay again.

    Meal arrangements

    We had a shabu-shabu and sushi course meal. The female staff member who guided us spoke very quietly, and it was noisy and crowded around us, so I wasn’t sure whether we were being guided. I followed her anyway, and it seems we were being shown to our seats. There was no explanation about how to use the condiments or how many servings they were for. When I wrote the sushi count in numbers, I was told to write tally marks instead. I felt this should have been explained from the beginning. I also spilled some beer. A staff member was there at that moment, but instead of bringing a towel or asking if everything was okay, she just said she would remove the hot pot, took it away, cleared the finished dishes, and left. It was all the same person—a young woman. She may have been a part-time worker and may not have been properly trained. This trip was arranged as a gift for my parents, which is why we chose your Ryokan. The staff member’s attitude made us feel uncomfortable. Even if she is part-time staff, I think proper training should be provided first. Some other younger staff members handled things well, so it may have been only her, but it was disappointing. The sushi and shabu-shabu meat were delicious.

    The restaurant’s service level is poor.

    When we stayed at another Kyoritsu Resort Accommodation before, the food was delicious, so we were looking forward to the meals this time as well. However, perhaps due to seasonal staff, although there were many employees in the restaurant, used plates were not cleared for a long time, and water refills did not come unless we asked repeatedly. We would have liked our child’s juice and meal to be served before the adults’, but they were brought last; the juice was forgotten and we only received it after checking after the meal. While adults are given a menu, we could not know what would be served for children until it arrived, and even when we asked in advance, no one could tell us. Even when placing paper coasters on the table, they were set down with the printed text upside down. It was disappointing to feel that service training was not thorough.

    Great value Accommodation

    We stayed to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. The staff’s attentiveness, the Facility, and the food were all above average, so considering the balance with the price, I felt this Accommodation offers great value for money. [Pros] - The Hotel is in an excellent location—just a 1-minute walk from Gora Station—so transportation access is outstanding. - As part of the Kyoritsu Group, which operates many Hotels, amenities and services are provided under consistent standards with no noticeable shortcomings. - Gora is a mountainous area with many slopes, but the routes to places like the open-air baths are well designed; except for the private open-air baths, steps and level differences were not much of an issue. - When I mentioned at check-in that my girlfriend’s birthday fell on our stay date, we received a gift of chopsticks and a message card on the spot. [Cons] - Perhaps few guests use the in-room shower, but water that had been sitting in the pipes seemed to have deteriorated; until we let it run for a bit, there was an unpleasant odor. It was disappointing that Facility maintenance did not seem thorough despite being a Hotel operated by Kyoritsu Maintenance. - The lighting in the private open-air baths is quite dim, so bathing at night can feel a little scary. If ambiance is important, I would like to see improvements such as adjustable lighting.

    I’ve visited Hakone ...

    I’ve visited Hakone many times, but usually just for day trips by car, so it had been a while since I stayed overnight. This time I prioritized the meals, and choosing this Hotel was absolutely the right decision. The silky tofu appetizer was outstanding, and everything all the way through to the final mixed rice was delicious. On the other hand, regarding staff service: at checkout I had paid online, so I didn’t speak with anyone at the front desk at the end. I only interacted with staff when paying the Hot Spring Tax. It was very disappointing that there was no sense of hospitality expected from hotel staff. I’m not asking for old-fashioned Ryokan-style deference. But when guests are leaving after checkout, I would like to hear “Thank you” and “We look forward to welcoming you again.” I understand it’s busy with many inbound international guests, but as a Japanese guest, I still want to be thanked. It made my stay feel only half as satisfying.

    We had a comfortable stay.

    The staff were very attentive, and I had a comfortable stay throughout my visit. The facilities were clean, and the large public bath helped me relax after sightseeing. I would definitely like to stay here again next time.

    A Hakone Trip for a Working Daughter and Her Mother

    As it was our first trip to Hakone, we chose this Accommodation based on online information. It was absolutely the right choice. We decided on it because we liked that the Room had a bath, but the large public bath was so wonderful that we used it three times in one night and really felt the Onsen benefits. The staff at the front desk and in the restaurant were both excellent. I rated the meals 4 only because I thought there could have been a bit more seafood, but everything was very good overall. We would definitely like to stay again.

    Hmm.

    There is only one designated smoking area in the large building. The shop closes early. The vending machines do not have highballs. The Room bath is not fed by free-flowing hot spring water. The pillows are too soft. There is no shelf in the Room shower room. There was no hot water from the showers in the large public bath. Despite all that, the price is fairly high. Other than that, everything was good.

    It had been quite a while since my last stay. Breakfast was delicious. The Facility felt rather old, and overall everything seemed a bit plain. Maybe I’ve become more particular as I’ve gotten older, but considering the room rate, it felt somewhat disappointing.

    It was great.

    This was my first time staying here. The location is very convenient, just a short walk from the station, and the room was clean and comfortable. I especially enjoyed the open-air bath in the room. The public bath was small but clean and pleasant as well. It seems that the private baths can be used without a reservation, but they were always occupied, so I couldn't use them this time—perhaps it's just a matter of luck. For meals, I chose shabu-shabu and sushi, which were plentiful and very satisfying! Absolutely delicious. The service and amenities were excellent with no complaints at all. Thank you very much—I would love to stay here again!

    I will not visit again.

    During my previous stay, I don't recall it being this bad—it was truly disappointing. I even questioned why there are so many positive reviews. The room size was good. However, the Onsen and changing area were not well-maintained or cleaned. The main issue was the food. While a staff member explained the meal, they spoke towards the window instead of us, with a low voice that made it hard to understand. The quality of the dishes was poor; I would prefer fewer items if they could improve them instead. The appetizers were not impressive, and the tempura was cold with unappetizing batter—very disappointing. To make matters worse, we were repeatedly asked to finish our meal quickly (perhaps for preparing late-night ramen?). This created an uncomfortable situation where we felt rushed in front of my fiancé's brother-in-law and his wife. It left me questioning their training and guidance for staff. I will never return again.

    The experience was as expected for the price. The staff were all very pleasant, but during meals, there seemed to be a shortage of staff, leading to some delays.

    Highly satisfied.

    The Room was clean and comfortable! The private bath was surprisingly available, so we could use it right away, but there might be a wait depending on the time. Both dinner and breakfast were very satisfying! We were glad we requested the birthday plate!

    Nice!

    It was better than expected. The sashimi was delicious. We enjoyed the variety of baths! However, the shampoo bottles in the bath area were dirty with grime, which made us hesitant to use them.

    It was a great accommodation for a relaxing stay!

    This accommodation offered great value for money. Despite the reasonable price, the bath was excellent. The staff provided attentive service. Due to the current season, there were quite a few inbound guests, so the atmosphere in the shared facilities didn't feel very Japanese. However, I was satisfied as I could relax in the bath and room!

    I visited.

    We stayed in a Japanese-Western style room for one night and two days. The all-you-can-eat rice and miso soup were very convenient. We appreciated the complimentary snacks and drinks provided. Even with three adults and two children, we were able to relax comfortably. We would love to stay again if we have the chance.

    It was disappointing, perhaps because I expected too much...

    I stayed for one night recently. Regarding the large public bath and carbonated Onsen, the water was too lukewarm, and my body didn’t warm up at all. The open-air bath was even cold. The air conditioning in the Room was not functional, making mornings and evenings chilly. The meals were satisfying in terms of menu and presentation; however, the rice at breakfast was overly soft like porridge—was it a mistake in water measurement? Additionally, the front desk staff spoke softly, making explanations hard to understand. While I was satisfied with the Room and meals, I couldn’t be satisfied with other aspects of my stay. I hope for improvements in the future.

    May not be suitable for seniors.

    It’s close to the station and has a nice atmosphere, but there were many foreign guests and it was crowded even on weekdays. I was concerned that the Facility cleaning felt somewhat neglected. Even if it cost a bit more, I wish I had made a Reservation at Setsugetsuka Bettei Suiun instead.

    This was our first stay. We looked forward to it as a couple once a year. Since we both work in the tourism industry, we had been interested in this property for a while. We enjoyed the dinner and the onsen, but since the room was for two people, we expected it to be a bit cramped. However, the furniture in the room and the drainage of the washbasin were poor, and the noise from the bathroom fan was constantly bothersome. The meal was delicious and good, but it was disappointing that the bowls and rice containers were burnt. The location is in a good place, so we would be happy if you could work on replacing old items and creating a comfortable space in the room. The dinner was very delicious.

    I used it for her birthday celebration. The access is very good as it is right next to Gora Station. It was a small Room for couples with a double bed, but it was on the top floor of Hanano-sho, with a good view and no adjacent Rooms, so we could enjoy it without worrying about the surrounding noise. Some west-facing Rooms and some Rooms in Tsukino-sho are in full view from the passageway to the bathhouse, so I think there is a hit or miss with the Rooms. The popularity of the road on the lower floors is also a concern. There was an impression that the free services such as yonaki soba, drinks, and ice candies were substantial, although limited in number. The places where outside air enters, such as the passageway inside the building to the bathhouse, were very cold, and I thought it was too cold to walk in the indoor wear. The bathhouse was well-equipped with a large public bath, a carbonated spring, and a private bath. The private bath only had a changing Room and a bathtub, with no washing area, so the turnover seemed quick. From autumn to winter, I think the changing Room is very cold. For dinner, we chose Kacho (soy milk hot pot and kamameshi). I thought the tempura was a little bland and needed salt, but I was generally satisfied with the quantity and quality. The time is divided into two parts, 17:15 and 19:30?, and it is decided on a first-come, first-served basis from those who check in. Since there is a concentration of requests for 19:30, we recommend early check-in for those who don't like early meals. I used it for her birthday celebration, and she was very satisfied.

    We stayed as a group of three women. When making the reservation online, I noted my allergies, and the property contacted us for detailed confirmation. On the day, they adjusted the basic menu for each person, allowing us to eat with peace of mind. There were two dining areas, each with a different menu, but since we arrived a bit late, we were assigned to "Kacho." The main dishes were soy milk hot pot and sakura shrimp kamameshi, both of which were delicious (the sakura shrimp was fragrant and tasty), and we finished everything. The ryokan's original sake was slightly dry and easy to drink, so we enjoyed it. There were samue in the room, but for size exchange or preference, there were various patterned yukata and amenities at the end of the lobby, and snacks were available for free. The room's refrigerator was stocked with complimentary bottled water for each person, and there was also a matcha set. Near the bathhouse, there were Yakult and ice candies, and in the rest area, there was a soft drink bar. Although we didn't use it, it seemed that soba was also served at certain times. Regarding food, we never felt hungry. The room had two large beds and two futons, which we laid out ourselves, but even with both futons laid out, there was plenty of space to relax. The open-air bath had a washing area, but since it wasn't an onsen, we didn't use it. The toilet was a bit cramped and located next to the tataki, so it was a bit inconvenient to have to step on the ground to enter. Instead of slippers, there were geta, and tabi-style socks were provided in the room's amenities. They were a bit difficult to walk in if you're not used to them. There were three private open-air baths, and since no reservation was needed, we went to try them. However, it was a rainy day, and there were several places without a roof on the way to the open-air bath, and the bath itself had no roof, so rain was coming in, and the temperature was low, so we left quickly. It was unfortunate. The staff all had wonderful smiles, and we were able to relax. There was a Noh stage, so perhaps events are held there? It was convenient being close to Gora, and I hope to visit again on a sunny day.
