    A Long-Awaited Winter Wonderland

    I visited after skiing in an outside temperature of -10°C. After check-in, I went to the Onsen to warm up my chilled body. The Onsen had a sulfur smell—truly what you’d expect from an Onsen—and it warmed me through. The indoor bath was at just the right temperature and clear, while the open-air bath was milky white; perhaps because the outside temperature was low and it was snowing, it felt a bit lukewarm. When going to sleep, since our Room was a corner Room, the room temperature was on the cooler side and didn’t warm up enough, so they provided us with an extra blanket. The meals were excellent in volume, variety, and taste, and we were very satisfied with both dinner and breakfast. The staff’s service was also good.

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    I gifted my 92-year-old mother an Onsen trip for her birthday. The accommodation had a very charming atmosphere, and the Onsen, with its high-concentration sulfur spring, was excellent. My elderly mother enjoyed soaking in the bath four times. The meals were also delicious. This time we stayed for just one night, but next time we hope to have a multiple night stay. The staff were kind and warmly welcomed us. We created wonderful memories. Thank you very much!

    Enjoy a peaceful and delightful Onsen experience.

    A peaceful and relaxing stay, perfect for spending time alone. The Onsen was exceptional, the handmade meals were delicious, and the staff were incredibly kind. I would love to come back again. The only downside was that I could clearly hear conversations from the neighboring room, which made the night a bit challenging. However, the serene atmosphere lingered on, making it a wonderful experience at Manza Onsen. Thank you!

    The hot spring was excellent!

    I stayed at this accommodation for one night. This was my second visit, and both the meals and the hospitality were excellent, allowing me to have a pleasant time. I would love to visit again! Thank you very much!

    The sauna rest area ...

    The sauna rest area had some water accumulation and was a bit slippery, but the open-air onsen with natural hot spring water was absolutely amazing! All the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

    The No.1 Onsen I've ever visited.

    The Onsen is excellent, with both indoor and open-air baths offering a unique atmosphere. The meals were also great, and even during a Multiple Night Stay, the menu was varied. However, the futon mattress was thin and not very comfortable to sleep on. It would be appreciated if this could be improved.

    We fully enjoyed the Onsen.

    The sulfur scent was soothing, and the Onsen was excellent; I bathed several times. Dinner was abundant, almost too much to finish. The building had a calm and relaxing atmosphere, making me want to stay again.

    It was a nice and relaxing accommodation.

    Unlike other large Hotels in Manza, which are often crowded with group guests making the bathhouses very busy, this Hotel caters mainly to individual guests, allowing for a more relaxing experience. The Onsen is, of course, exceptional. The meals were delicious; however, I felt that reducing the number of dishes and improving the quality of ingredients would make it even better.

    The bath is excellent.

    The milky white hot spring in the open-air bath brings great happiness. Meals are prepared at each table, which is very convenient. The dishes use a variety of ingredients and were absolutely delicious. However, it was unfortunate that during breakfast, the loud conversations from the group of men at the next table were very unpleasant. It would be appreciated if guests could be more mindful of their surroundings!

    The hot spring was wonderful.

    The room and facility show some age, but having a capsule coffee machine in the room was much appreciated. The Onsen and dinner were both excellent, with the main dish of Joshu beef sukiyaki being so plentiful that I couldn't finish it—regretting my 3 PM snack. At night, I slept soundly with the refreshing breeze coming through the open window. Thank you very much!

    The courteous servic...

    The courteous service made my stay very pleasant. The Onsen was amazing! I think it’s the best Onsen I’ve ever experienced. The reading space, welcome drinks, and ice cream were also great services. However, the meal portions were surprisingly large. Next time I stay, I’ll make sure not to snack beforehand.

    We understand that this is an affordable plan, but we would like to point out the following: 1. The stains on the shoji screens were unpleasant. 2. The view from the window could be improved; it’s just barren land and exterior walls, which are not visually appealing. Some maintenance might help improve this. Is it because it's a low-cost plan that complaints are not welcome? Please remember that everything is part of what guests pay for. On a positive note, the three staff members in charge of meals were very polite and pleasant. The Onsen and table tennis were enjoyed by our children—thank you very much! We look forward to visiting again. P.S.: It would have been nice if there was an option for a stay-in bento box with this plan.

    Onsen is amazing.

    This was my first stay at Manzatei, and the bath was excellent. The facility and room were well-cleaned, making for a comfortable stay. The meals were so carefully prepared that I forgot I was staying in a mountain accommodation, with no need to compromise on food or the room as is often the case with hidden hot springs. There seemed to be no spare towels available, but perhaps an option to add extras based on the accommodation fee would be nice. I purchased a ¥1,300 bathing pass for the following day and stopped by Shinkan for a bath. I thoroughly enjoyed Manza's hot spring waters—highly recommended!

    Beloved Manza

    Stayed for my brother's birthday. The room was Yamabuki, a spacious and comfortable Japanese-Western style room. The large public bath was nearby, which made me happy as I wanted to use it multiple times. Both dinner and breakfast were luxurious, and having a private dining room was wonderful. The variety of side dishes was overwhelming, and the Joshu beef sukiyaki was incredibly delicious. While Tokyo exceeded 35°C, it was cool and pleasant here—almost chilly at night. I would love to visit again!

    When we arrived by c...

    When we arrived by car on the day, there was no one to greet us at the entrance, and we had to carry our suitcases up 7-8 steps ourselves. The Onsen water at Manza is excellent, but what was very disappointing was that when we went at 9:00 PM, there were seven staff members of Asian and Japanese descent using all the faucets for bathing. Guests could not use them! This has never happened in any Ryokan I’ve visited before! If they bathed late at night, it might be understandable, but bathing as early as 9:00 PM is absolutely unacceptable! The bed in the room creaked loudly with every movement, waking me up every time I turned over. As for the meals, considering it’s an Onsen Ryokan in the mountains, there’s no need to serve so much sashimi that isn’t very fresh or enjoyable. This stay ended up being extremely disappointing overall.

    Manza Onsen is the best!

    Manzatei offers the most sulfur-rich and high-quality Onsen experience in the Manza Onsen area. The indoor bath, with its stunning wooden architecture, has a charming atmosphere, while the open-air bath provides great views and exceptional milky water with a strong sulfur scent. I enjoyed bathing twice before dinner, twice after dinner, and twice in the morning. Each session lasted about 15 minutes to avoid long soaks. Both dinner and breakfast featured a wide variety of dishes that left me completely satisfied. However, please note that toothbrushes and toothpaste are not provided in the room, so you need to bring your own. At check-out at 10:00 AM, I purchased a "Yumeguri Tegata" pass for 1,300 yen to visit three other accommodations' baths: Nisshinkan, Manza Prince Hotel, and Manza Kogen Hotel. Each offered unique open-air baths with distinct Onsen colors and perfectly warm water temperatures. I thoroughly enjoyed my time exploring everything Manza has to offer!

    Onsen is perfect.

    Stayed for two nights from February 11th. The snow was intense, making it difficult to reach the Stays (crying). Even with the navigation set, the guidance ended near the Property. We couldn't see the road at all and were on the verge of getting lost, but somehow managed to arrive... The food was served in such large quantities as rumored, which was tough for someone over sixty. However, on the second day, the rice and soup were forgotten at dinner!! But the main attraction is the Onsen, boasting the highest sulfur content in Japan. I wish the Room's bath was also an Onsen. It was one of the top three Onsen experiences for me. On the way back, there was another snowstorm, and the ski lift stopped, but after running the car engine for about 30 minutes, the windshield defrosted, and we set off, almost getting lost again but safely descended. For those not used to snowy roads, I recommend using the bus. In the end, I was happy to have experienced the best Onsen.

    It was a genuine Onsen.

    Stayed at Manzatei, a place I had wanted to visit for a long time. The smell of sulfur was strong on the way, reminding us that it is an onsen area. The milky white hot onsen was excellent. It was curious that there seemed to be a difference in temperature between when I entered in the evening and in the morning. The day we stayed, it was very lively with other guests and inbound guests. The room and meals are simple, but it is a property with a wonderful onsen. The interior has also been renovated, and I was able to relax quite a bit while reading a book in the library. Thank you very much.

    I apologize, but I went without expecting much other than the Onsen.

    The Room was comfortable and the Facility was excellent. Above all, the meals were quite delicious, pleasantly exceeding my expectations. I think I will stay again.

    Experience once. Milky white Onsen.

    The milky white onsen was the best. I would like to visit again. It is a property where I want to bathe again. The cuisine has a large variety of dishes, and I think it would be fine to refine it according to the times. I was impressed by the polite work and smiling hospitality of the foreign trainees. Due to the high altitude of the property, I felt a shortage of staff and realized that it cannot be operated without the help of foreign trainees. I will visit again. Thank you very much.

    I was able to spend my time leisurely. Some people might find the dinner portions too large. There's a new sauna available for an extra fee, which is great for those who enjoy it. I found the room and facilities clean and comfortable, allowing me to have a pleasant stay. Although it's time-specified, there's a free drink service and a space to read books leisurely, so you can relax.
