    I’d love to stay here again.

    Although it is an older Hotel, it was very well cleaned, and the large public bath was also spotless and very comfortable. We chose a boxed dinner in the evening, and it exceeded our expectations—if we come to Tateyama again, we will definitely stay here. The price was very reasonable. This is unrelated to the Hotel, but there was a group tour from overseas who seemed unfamiliar with proper etiquette after using the public bath, and it looked like a storm had passed through. I wished their tour guide had explained Japanese public-bath manners in advance.

    First-time disappointment

    It feels like guest requests are not being addressed. While it's fine if the Facility is old, it was disappointing not to feel a sense of hospitality.

    It was a disappointing accommodation.

    I parked my car in front of the accommodation, but the parking lot was uneven with cracked asphalt and overgrown weeds. As I carried my luggage to the entrance, I noticed more weeds growing near the doorway. I thought the entrance area should at least be weeded. When I stepped onto the entrance steps, I saw that some tiles were chipped. I wondered why even temporary repairs hadn't been made. There was no porter or staff to guide me at the entrance, which gave me a bad feeling. Although nothing particularly terrible happened afterward, I was bothered by the toilet in the room being dirty (not properly cleaned) and cracks in the corners of the window glass. Overall, the cleaning seemed insufficient, and various details caught my attention. The floor of the public bath was slippery and felt unsafe. The curtains in the room were not blackout, so the room became dimly lit in the morning. Breakfast was served buffet-style, but there was no staff at the reception, only a signboard for guidance. I saw one or two staff members, but it felt like dining in an unmanned restaurant. I have made reservations and stayed at various accommodations through different sites. While there have been some disappointing accommodations, I have never been let down by accommodations handled by IKYU. This time, I trusted the accommodation because it was listed on IKYU.com, but the experience was disappointing. However, I did think the Onsen water quality was excellent.

    I had a peaceful time.

    I spent the New Year holidays at a nearby Onsen. It is indeed old. The building is like a maze due to extensions, but the cards placed in the hallway were like Hansel and Gretel, and the elderly couple laughed, saying, "We just need to follow these." The highlight is the Onsen! As soon as you enter, you'll be moved by the wonderful Onsen, exclaiming, "This hot water!" There is no open-air bath or sauna, but it's truly a waste not to experience such a great Onsen. I regret not having visited before. It's only a 30-minute drive from my home, so I plan to use it for day trips from now on.
