    Just steps from Izu Shrine

The Room with an open-air bath was very comfortable, and it was great to be able to enjoy the Onsen without worrying about time. It was a weekday and not very crowded, but I felt this Accommodation may often host groups (a few people). Since I wanted a quiet stay, the “Jurakudai” guest room with an open-air bath was just right. I heard that “Izu Shrine” is nearby, so we decided to stop by on our way back. When I accidentally started walking in the wrong direction after leaving the Hotel, a front desk staff member actually came out from inside the Hotel to show me the correct way. It made me feel that this Hotel truly values its guests.

    The Room’s open-air bath.

Every meal was carefully prepared and delicious, and the hot dishes in particular felt freshly made, making for a highly satisfying dining experience. Having an open-air bath in the Room was a real luxury, and I loved being able to soak and relax whenever I wanted. However, the view from the open-air bath was somewhat limited, and it would have been even nicer with a better outlook. Overall, it was a comfortable Accommodation, and my stay was especially memorable for the excellent food and the relaxing open-air bath in the Room.

    The Charms of Izusan

I have been visiting Atami since childhood, and I chose this accommodation because it is within walking distance to Izusan Shrine, which I wanted to visit again after a long time. (It was also helpful as my husband is elderly.) The front desk staff and dining staff were kind and professional. The shuttle service bus safely navigated the steep slopes, making the ride comfortable. The large bath was great, but the private open-air bath in our room exceeded expectations! :) We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I feel that if you continue to highlight the charm of Izusan while developing events or souvenir products within the hotel, this accommodation will receive even higher praise. Thank you for your hospitality!

I made the reservation at the request of a friend. They mentioned that the room was clean, had a great view, and they enjoyed a relaxing vacation with the bath and manga corner. It was also convenient to visit Izusan Shrine without having to climb stairs. The frequent shuttle service from Atami Station was very helpful as well.

    Satisfied.

Although the property is old, it was kept clean. The meal was a small course but very satisfying. The bath was spacious and comfortable, though it was unfortunate that some baths were unavailable. The Room had no noise leakage, allowing for a relaxing stay. Please note that the road leading to the property has steep slopes.

The Atami Fireworks Festival was beautiful.

We traveled to Atami to show our children the fireworks festival. The exclusive viewing seats for accommodation guests were fantastic. This was our second stay at the hotel, and the breakfast was a heartwarming Japanese meal (the soba noodles were delicious). Dinner was truly luxurious and tasty—I wish we had more time to enjoy it (thank you for accommodating us even though we arrived late due to our own delay). The hotel staff took great care of us, and we are very grateful. Whenever we come here, we visit Izusan Shrine and enjoy feeding the koi fish. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Atami!

    Stunning View

I stayed at the accommodation on the day of the fireworks festival. There was a shuttle service to the fireworks venue, but since I checked in at 6:00 PM after work, I decided to enjoy a leisurely dinner and watch the fireworks from the rooftop. The sashimi and butter-grilled abalone were delicious. The room was spacious and clean, with an excellent view of the sea from its elevated location. Watching the fireworks from the rooftop was perfect as they were at eye level, allowing for a relaxed viewing experience without any crowds. The next day, after checking out and leaving my luggage with them, I received directions for a shortcut to Izusan Shrine and visited it before taking an 11:00 AM shuttle bus back to Atami Station. Izusan Shrine is known as a shrine of great fortune; I got red dragon and white dragon-themed stamp books along with their stamps there. It’s close to the hotel and highly recommended!

    Fireworks

On the day, we were able to see the fireworks. From the lobby floor, the fireworks were right in front of us. It was a very comfortable and wonderful time.

Second visit. Still a wonderful Ryokan.

I stayed here during a trip with friends. We were provided with a spacious corner Room, and even with 5 people, we had no issues and enjoyed a comfortable stay. The bath was sufficiently spacious; the indoor bath was slightly hot, while the open-air bath had just the right temperature. Since we followed a morning bath → breakfast routine, it would have been nice to have a place in the changing area to put used towels. Thank you to the staff at the front desk who kindly collected them for us at that time. Both dinner and breakfast were highly satisfying and very delicious. The only minor concern was that the server seemed inexperienced, which made things feel slightly rushed, and there was quite a bit of noise from clattering dishes. The calm atmosphere away from tourist spots, along with its natural setting overlooking the sea, left a great impression—and it’s also cost-effective! If I visit Atami again, I would definitely stay here once more.

The view is disappointing, and the male staff during dinner appeared expressionless.

Stayed at this hotel to enjoy the Atami Fireworks Festival and relax in the onsen while also checking out the area. Booked a single room and found out during check-in that single rooms are only available on the first floor. If I had known earlier, I might not have chosen this accommodation. However, the shortcut to Izusan Shrine was convenient for visiting. Dinner and breakfast were both underwhelming. Although I had abalone steamed in its shell as part of dinner, it didn’t feel worth the price. On a positive note, two young female staff members during dinner service were very polite and attentive, which was appreciated. However, when requesting a window-side seat before being seated (despite available seats), it was eventually accommodated but handled poorly by what seemed to be a male supervisor with an unfriendly attitude. Even after saying "Sorry for troubling you," there was no response or expression from him. Thankfully, another smiling female staff member’s kind demeanor helped improve my mood slightly. During breakfast service, an older female staff member greeted me with "Are you here to eat?" instead of a proper "Good morning" or guiding me politely—something that should be standard practice. The onsen itself was excellent; however, having a clock in the bath area would have been helpful. Considering these experiences overall, I’ll think carefully about staying here again next time.

It was a highly satisfying accommodation.

This was my first time staying here. On the day of, I spontaneously decided to visit Atami and searched for a cost-effective accommodation, which led me to Heartpia Atami. In conclusion, it was an extremely satisfying accommodation. 【Parking】 The parking lot is located in front of the entrance and below it. There is a 200V charging facility available. It could be used for 500 yen, which was sufficient for PHEVs. You need to inform the staff beforehand. The underground area was slightly dim but not bothersome. 【Lobby】 While there is an overall sense of age, the staff welcomed us with smiles, creating a pleasant atmosphere. Welcome drinks were provided; we enjoyed refreshing lemon water along with a stunning view. 【Room】 We stayed in a Japanese-style room with Ryukyu tatami mats laid out—a simple and efficient design that suited our preferences perfectly. The room was impeccably clean, confirming our choice of accommodation as successful. What captivated us most was the breathtaking view of Sagami Bay visible from the room itself. At night, we enjoyed gazing at the moon through breaks in the clouds while feeling a gentle breeze and chatting together. 【Bath】 We visited around 9 PM when there were only one or two people in the changing area and no one else in the bath—essentially having it all to ourselves! Although views are limited due to enclosures around it, this didn’t bother us much; however—the open-air bath felt slightly small. 【Breakfast】 A Japanese buffet-style breakfast allowed us various ways centered on rice dishes like shirasu-don (whitebait bowl). What surprised us most? Grilling dried fish! We savored freshly grilled horse mackerel & salmon alongside handmade bread by their chef—it’s highly recommended! 【Sleep Quality】 My wife especially found sleeping on futons within traditional tatami rooms very comfortable—resulting restful sleep throughout night without disturbances noises nearby guests’ rooms either above/below/next-door areas while peacefully embracing serene nature surrounding Atami region itself too! **Final Thoughts:** Previously prioritizing stylish accommodations costing higher prices instead now discovering unique comfort offered here instead via Heartpia-Atamai experience altogether differently enjoyable manner indeed! Accommodation with a Stunning Ocean View for Complete Satisfaction

I booked an accommodation with a great ocean view at my mother's request. The view of Sagami Bay through the large glass windows in the lobby was more stunning than I imagined, and I couldn't take my eyes off it. The Japanese-Western style room was spacious and comfortable, with a beautiful contrast between the blue ocean and the greenery of Mount Izusan visible from the window. Dinner was carefully prepared and visually delightful. The abalone was tender and delicious. On the second night, they changed the menu for us, allowing us to enjoy another wonderful meal. Breakfast could use a bit more variety for enjoyment but was still satisfying enough. The onsen was spacious and relaxing; however, it would be even better if there were more views of the ocean from there. Being able to take a shortcut to Izusan Shrine nearby was one of the lucky aspects of staying at this accommodation. Even with my elderly mother, we were able to stay comfortably without any worries. This is truly an excellent accommodation that pays attention to every detail. I look forward to visiting again to enjoy gazing at the sea!

    The breakfast buffet is luxurious.

This was my first visit. The shuttle service from Atami Station takes about 10 minutes, making it very convenient. There is also a shuttle service from the hotel to Atami Station, which I used for an outing after check-in. A taxi ride from Atami Station to the hotel costs around 1,300 yen. The welcome drink coffee was very delicious. The room offers a panoramic view of the ocean and feels open and spacious. The interior is bright, spacious, and very clean. For dinner, I ate a bento box purchased at a convenience store in my room, but there was a microwave on the same floor as my room, which was helpful. There was also an ice machine available. The onsen had excellent water quality; even with a short soak, my body stayed warm for hours afterward. Skincare products like lotion, emulsion, and cleansing oil were provided as well. Amenities such as hair ties, shower caps, hairbrushes, and razors were available for free in the lobby for guests to use. There are two ping-pong tables near the entrance of the onsen that can be used free of charge for some fun entertainment! Breakfast buffet starts at 7 AM in a restaurant with ocean views as its venue location. Freshly cooked ham and eggs served directly off an iron plate were incredibly tasty! Grilled salted mackerel (saba) & dried horse mackerel (aji) stood out too being absolutely exquisite dishes offered alongside other options like ochazuke corner or shirasu-don station providing variety-rich choices tempting you into trying everything possible while salads remained fresh throughout meal experience itself altogether delightful overall dining atmosphere created here indeed! The view is spectacular.

The property is located on a hill, requiring a significant climb from Atami Station. From the large windows in the lobby and rooms, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Suruga Bay. On clear days, you can even see Hatsushima and distant Oshima, offering truly breathtaking and refreshing scenery. The room on the 3rd floor was very clean, had an excellent view, and was spacious enough. However, rooms below the 2nd floor may have obstructed views due to power lines in front of them. The Onsen was excellent and brought joy to my elderly parents, which made me happy as well. Service at the property felt average with a straightforward approach. Breakfast was served buffet-style and was decent overall. Dinner consisted of Japanese kaiseki cuisine but lacked standout dishes; delays in serving courses were frequent—possibly due to understaffing—which was disappointing despite some staff members being very dedicated and pleasant. Overall impression: The views, room quality, and Onsen were highly satisfying; however, meals left something to be desired.

    I stay every year. T...

I stay every year. The meals and onsen are good, but was there a shortage of staff this time? I used the bath around 4 PM, and the floor was covered with hair, which was unpleasant. Recent hotels have services like providing bottled water or socks, but such services are lacking here. I was expecting a room with an open-air bath, but the view was disappointing. However, I will visit again.

    It was okay.

I stayed with a Japanese Kaiseki Plan featuring abalone as the main dish. At dinner, the abalone was tender and delicious, and the other dishes were just the right amount, which was satisfying. However, breakfast was in a buffet style, but there was nothing appealing to eat, and it was very disappointing with a poor selection. Overall, my expectations for the meals were not met, but I felt, "Well, it is what it is." Also, perhaps because I was not feeling well, the comforter was thin and not warm, and by the next morning, I had a sore throat and caught a cold. I wish at least a humidifier had been provided in the room.

A breathtaking onsen property overlooking Izusan

When I visited for a day-use bath, the onsen and scenery were wonderful, so this time I decided to stay. The room was on the first floor, so the view was not great, but the view from the café in the 5th-floor lobby and the breakfast restaurant on the 6th floor was amazing, with a distant view of Oshima. The windows are very large, offering a breathtaking view. There are two onsens with a gender-swapping system, both featuring open-air baths and indoor baths with jacuzzis, allowing for a relaxing soak. The temperature was just right, neither too hot nor too cold. The room was a single room and not particularly spacious, but the water facilities were conveniently located near the door, making it very user-friendly. Surprisingly, it is only about a 7-8 minute walk from this property to Izu-san Shrine. Since Izu-san Shrine has exhibits of national treasure level, hosting a tour from the property might be well-received. It's a nice property for a casual stay, and I would like to visit again soon.

The base lighting in the Room is a daylight fluorescent lamp, creating a somewhat lonely atmosphere. It is suggested that using indirect lighting or warm-colored lighting could create a more relaxing space.

I would like to stay again.

It was good. The sea view was nice and the food was delicious. The bath was also pleasant. The Shuttle Service was convenient. It was also nice to be able to go to Izu-san Shrine (Izu-san Jinja) easily. However, it was disappointing that there were times when the large public bath was unavailable due to school trip students, and there was no prior explanation about where the bath amenities were located.

    A hotel overflowing with hospitality

A spontaneous trip to Atami decided the day before. We booked on a whim, but the room was spacious and the kids were thrilled. The view was very beautiful. We could easily visit Izusan Shrine from the hotel, and the kids enjoyed feeding the carp. Breakfast was delicious. We were grateful for the menu that allowed the kids to eat heartily. The coffee service in the lounge was appreciated. The shuttle bus was also convenient. When we were leaving, the staff waved us off as we headed to the shuttle bus, making us want to stay again. Above all, it was a trip that made the kids very happy, and we are grateful to Heartpia Atami.
