    Pets were also delighted.

It was wonderful with the dog-first approach! I would like to stay again!

I stayed at the same Accommodation last year and had a great experience, so I chose it again this year. We enjoyed our stay with our dog again this time. The Accommodation itself was excellent, but due to the typhoon I seriously debated whether to travel. I had made an early-booking campaign Reservation through IKYU, but I couldn’t switch from Local Payment to Online Credit Card Payment… so the discount wasn’t applied, which left me disappointed. Are there any measures in place for situations like severe weather?

As always, it’s disappointing how unfriendly the front desk staff are. I also saw another guest lose their temper. Even at an inexpensive Accommodation, it’s unpleasant to see staff yawning without even greeting guests. I wouldn’t come unless it was for the dog pool, but this time the pool water was so dirty that I felt my dog might get sick and couldn’t let them swim, which was very disappointing. I would like you to keep it a bit cleaner.

    I was scammed!

I booked because the room rate seemed very cheap, but at checkout I was charged JPY 5,800 for my dog’s stay and an additional bathing fee. This was not stated at the time of booking. It felt misleading, so please be careful.

For a dog fee of 3,300 yen, I would like wet wipes to be provided. It is also disappointing that an additional bathing fee is charged besides the Hot Spring Tax. It is a shame there is no open-air bath either. Everything feels old, so it may be fine if you are prioritizing price.

Plenty of dog amenities, and the space is great.

I didn’t have high expectations based on the Room photos, but since it isn’t “nice” (meaning it feels aged and the equipment is old), I could use it without hesitation, and overall I was satisfied. Since it’s a condominium, there isn’t excessive service, but thank you to the front desk staff and housekeeping team for your flexible and pleasant support. The dog pool was also clean. It seems dogs are allowed on the bed if they wear a diaper. We train our dog to sleep both in a crate and on the bed, so since the bed was OK, we were able to sleep together. There is a mini-kitchen with detergent, a sponge, a microwave, a fairly large refrigerator, and an electric hot plate for one person—you might be able to make something as simple as udon for one. The downsides: as a condominium, the kitchen is small and there’s no dining table, so it feels incomplete; and since it’s not a Hotel there’s no dining Facility, so having to go out every time for meals was tough. Breakfast in particular was difficult. We only stayed two nights, but I saw online that a place called Mito opens from 7:00; we went around 8:30 but it wasn’t open... It seems mornings start late in Izu, which felt unfair for my growing elementary-school daughter. Also, because the Wi‑Fi has no security (open network), I was afraid to use it. The walls are thin—this isn’t the Hotel’s fault—but many families seemed to lack manners or proper dog training; their dogs barked nonstop and it was noisy. Many dogs also acted aggressively toward other dogs; I felt that traveling with dogs in Japan (including flying together) is still underdeveloped compared with other countries. The futons in the Japanese-style room were heavy (maybe cotton), and the mattress futon was thin and smelled like urine—I’d like this improved. To enter this condominium you must use stairs, but maybe because it seems connected underground to another affiliated Hotel (?) next door called Abient—if you take a longer route—you might be able to transfer via elevators to get over to this side (“Wanwan”). *Since the bath is shared with Abient...* This is just my guess. The location is good: nearby there are tasty places like Regalo Terra (no dogs) and Honke Maguroya (dogs allowed inside), so dinner wasn’t difficult. There’s also Omuroyama about 5 minutes away by car—the views were spectacular!

A Silver-Haired Grandma’s Trip with Her Beloved Dog

Anyway, we were able to travel freely and at our own pace. Check-in was available from 15:00 to 21:00, and we also enjoyed meals nearby. The price felt reasonable! The Room was comfortable, and everyone was able to relax in their own way.
