    Excellent service and great food.

Thank you for taking care of us for three days. Just as the Reviews said, the hospitality was excellent with guests of all ages, and it felt warm and welcoming. Both dinner and breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes, and we were satisfied with the ingredients as well. The optional Sado rock oysters were truly “milk of the sea”! If I had to mention one thing, I would have preferred slightly smaller portions with higher quality. It was our first time in Sado, and it turned into a very satisfying family trip.

    Family-friendly

Although it was during the summer holiday season, the amenities were only on the level of a Business Hotel and the meals were mediocre, so paying over 50,000 yen per night for two people felt overpriced. Also, even though there were road closures due to a landslide, there was no announcement from the Hotel. As a result, we wasted half a day.

    It exceeded my expectations.

The older male staff work very efficiently. When we arrived by car, several of them came right away to help with various things, and during busy times they stood by the elevators to guide guests to the dining area and baths, which left a very courteous impression. The building is old, but it is well cleaned throughout, and the retro Showa-era atmosphere was also nice. The sunset sinking into the sea, seen from the semi-open-air bath in the large public bathhouse, is breathtaking. It was a shame that the water temperature was so hot that I couldn’t soak for long. Amenities are minimal. Personally, I think more people would prefer hair ties than shower caps... It seems there are evening options such as a Sado Okesa show and a free bus tour to see the Gold Mine illuminations. I couldn’t join this time due to scheduling, but I’d love to next time. I was happy that all the tissues placed in places like the Room and changing area were soft tissues from a well-known brand. It felt like service one level above what you’d expect for this price range.

    Showa Nostalgia

The Showa-era staff welcomed us with priceless smiles and a beautiful sunset amidst the retro Facility. As a guest who appreciates the Showa atmosphere, it felt truly pleasant. For Sado Island, attracting visitors from the Heisei era and during colder seasons seems to be a challenge for the entire island.

    Conveniently located...

Conveniently located near Sado Gold Mine, making it ideal for sightseeing. The building has an old charm, but the art pieces and historical atmosphere more than make up for it. Meal times were flexible, from 7:00 to 9:00, which was very accommodating. The meals were delicious, showcasing the quality of the ingredients, with generous portions. The children's meals were also tasty. In a time when Hotel and Ryokan prices are rising, this stay offered great satisfaction and value. Thank you very much!

    The building and fac...

The building and facility are understandably old, but the curtain in the guest room was significantly torn. Don’t the staff notice this? There were also many small crickets (?) in the bathroom and guest room. It would be very difficult for those who dislike insects. During meals, the timing of asking to clear dishes was too early, making it hard to relax. Overall, it was disappointing in many aspects.

Sado Okesa Dance and Night Mini Tour

This was my second visit to Sado, and I had a pleasant stay at the accommodation. While some parts felt understandably old, I appreciated being able to visit the Kitazawa Flotation Plant Ruins at night and watch the Sado Okesa performance. Located in the center of Aikawa, there were restaurants nearby, but they were unexpectedly crowded. In hindsight, I regret not having dinner at the hotel. For breakfast, I dined at Taiheikai-no-Ie as recommended and found it incredibly delicious. Thank you very much!

    We had a great time!

Stayed on 8/16-17 during Obon. Although the accommodation is old, it was well-cleaned and comfortable to use. There was a slightly old smell in the hallway. The bath is also old but very clean. The meals were all very delicious. Thank you for taking a family photo for us; it’s rare to get everyone in one picture, so we really appreciated it. However, to be honest, at a hotel we stayed at before, they gave us the photo as a gift, so I thought we might have to pay 2000 yen this time. The shuttle service for the Sado Okesa night show and Kitazawa Flotation Plant light-up was great because everyone could enjoy drinks without worry. Overall, very satisfied! It was an enjoyable trip!

    Close

The parking lot and reception staff gave a great impression with their professionalism. However, the dining area was a bit disappointing. Even when we moved finished dishes aside to make space, the staff seemed too focused on serving and didn’t notice unless called upon to clear them. There was also no attention given to desserts, so we had to ask for them ourselves. The soy sauce was placed inconveniently at the edge of the table, and it felt like they served without adjusting from a standard four-person setup. Overall, there seemed to be a lack of attentiveness, which is unfortunate given the potential for improvement. With multiple staff members available, assigning specific tables could help avoid guests having to search for assistance and create opportunities for meaningful interactions that enhance memories of their stay at the accommodation. Lastly, I found it odd that during dinner there were table-by-table commemorative photos being taken. Asking guests to stand up mid-meal just for "a better angle" seems inappropriate in such a setting.

    The large public bat...

The large public bath, especially the open-air onsen, offered a great view and was very relaxing. We chose a breakfast-only plan and enjoyed exploring the many attractive restaurants within walking distance for dinner. As we were traveling with a child with food allergies, we repeatedly confirmed this during the reservation process and at check-in. However, at breakfast, allergen-filled dishes were served despite our prior notice. It was only after our complaint that adjustments were made, yet ham containing dairy ingredients was still provided. This caused our child to become very cautious and eat almost nothing due to the lack of trust in their handling of allergies. Although we booked this accommodation under the impression that they could handle food allergies, we were charged for breakfast-inclusive accommodation fees regardless of these issues, leaving us deeply disappointed in the end. Since this is a matter of life-threatening importance, we expected more serious consideration in their response. If allergy accommodations are not possible, it should be clearly stated beforehand.

If you visit Sado, we recommend accommodation.

The vehicle guidance in front of the entrance is kind. When traveling to Sado Gold Mine, staying here is worthwhile to learn about Sado culture. The building has a historical (old) feel, but the staff's service exceeded expectations. 1. The breakfast uses ingredients from Sado, is low in salt, and delicious. 2. The art museum inside the hotel is truly wonderful, featuring treasures like a Heian-era Kannon statue in the Buddha room—definitely worth seeing. 3. Any issues on the guest side were handled promptly and accurately by the staff. 4. The hotel's staff have beautiful manners and conduct themselves gracefully.

    Sado Sunset and Seafood Satisfaction

We used the facility with five people for a Koki celebration. Both dinner and breakfast were satisfying. We also enjoyed the service of the Okesa dance performance after the bath and the illuminated tour of the Kitazawa Flotation Plant.

    Overall old

The facility is overall outdated. Meals were limited to "No Meals Included" at the time of reservation, so I did not use them. There was no information about event usage at all. I felt there was a shortage of staff at the front desk.

The art exhibition left a lasting impression.

The staff at the inn were very kind, and I could feel the warmth of the people of Sado. Inside the building, there is a collection of calligraphy and paintings by famous people such as Katsu Kaishu on display. The room was beautifully renovated, but I thought it would have been nice if the windows in the guest room could open a little for ventilation. I stayed in a non-smoking room this time as well, but there was a smoking area in front of the elevator on the same floor. The Showa retro interior facilities felt nostalgic, as if I had time-traveled, but... I was a little puzzled.
