    It was wonderful to be able to stay with our dogs the whole time.

    The food was very delicious. Unfortunately, the alcoholic drinks and other beverages were not quite to our taste. It was great that we could spend time with our dogs in various areas of the property, and that there is a dog run. On the other hand, dust was noticeable in the Room, and we felt that cleaning was not thorough enough. Also, since there are many steps and level changes in the Room and throughout the Facility, it may be a bit difficult for senior dogs or elderly guests. As this stay fell during the Obon holiday period and the rate was considerably higher than usual, we think we would have been able to enjoy our stay more if cleaning had been more thorough.

    Your dog always looks happy.

    This was our second stay with our rescued dog. This time, there was a pool set up in the dog park, and our dog tried swimming for the first time. Surprisingly, they swam well and looked like they were having a great time. Playing in the spacious dog park always makes them look so happy, and we’re really glad we came.\nWe chose the reasonably priced Standard Cottage this time, so we expected some age, but there was a very strong dusty (moldy?) smell, which was a bit of a downside. The place was cleaned properly, but there’s only so much you can do about an older building.\nStill, our dog looked so happy that we’ll probably stay again!

    The dog run was great. I’m also happy with the photo shoot, but…

    There are two dog runs: one you can use even at night, and another in the woods. Our dog was so happy and ran around a lot. As for the meals for people, they felt a bit modest compared with other Wanpara locations, but the shabu-shabu we ate in the cottage was delicious! Perhaps because the cottage is old, water kept trickling from the kitchen faucet even after turning it off, and maybe due to poor toilet plumbing, there was a thin layer of water pooling on the floor. There was also hair left by a previous guest where you place the hair dryer, and some dust had built up in the Japanese-style Room... We talked as a family and said it can’t be helped since there are so many cottages and they can’t renovate everything, but it was still a little disappointing. That said, essential items for dogs were provided in the cottage, and having a microwave, plates, knives, and a cutting board was very convenient. The one free photo shoot per Room turned out beautifully, and our family is very satisfied. Thank you very much.

    I was overwhelmed by dust and a musty mold smell.

    The reception entrance and restaurant building are still fairly new and leave a good impression, but the overall facilities—including the cottages—are severely deteriorated, and I would definitely not stay again. Although the room has been renovated to some extent, it was dusty and smelled of mold. My wife and eldest son couldn’t stop having a runny nose and coughing. Dinner is a set course, but since all tables are served at the same time, there is a lot of unnecessary waiting; I think this should be improved. The staff service was neither good nor bad—just average. The only thing that was truly good was the artificial-turf dog run. We stayed here as a compromise because another Accommodation we wanted was fully booked, but we regret it.

    Dinner was a Plan with in-room dining, but although I made a Reservation for sukiyaki, shabu-shabu was delivered, which was disappointing. Also, I checked in around 4:30 p.m., and was told that because check-in was late, only the 9:00 a.m. breakfast slot was available. I didn’t know it was first-come, first-served, and I also wasn’t informed that breakfast is offered in two time slots—7:30 or 9:00. I wanted to eat breakfast earlier, and I was shocked that there is no refund even if breakfast is canceled. I wish you would make some improvements, such as confirming the preferred breakfast time at the time of Reservation or seating the next guests as tables become available. I had been looking forward to staying with my dog, but it left me feeling unsettled and disappointed.

    Happy Moments with Your Beloved Dog

    We chose this place for our first trip with our former rescue dog, whom we adopted six months ago. The cottage is a bit dated, but that actually made it feel relaxed and comfortable for spending time with our dog. What our pup loved most were the two dog parks. We were able to play in nature to our heart’s content on the evening we arrived and again the next morning, and it was also great fun chatting with other guests about our dogs. The staff were very kind, and we could truly relax without worrying about barking. We will definitely be back.

    Stayed during Golden Week. Given the premium price, the shortcomings in service were particularly disappointing.

    I stayed here during a Golden Week trip. At JPY 42,000 per person per night, it was a big splurge for me, so I arrived with high expectations. The cottage-style Room was generally quiet—although we occasionally heard dogs—and it was nice to be able to relax. There are two types of dog runs, and I appreciated being able to choose depending on how crowded they were. The meals were delicious, and the mountain view from the restaurant was truly beautiful. The staff who served us spoke to us in such a warm and thoughtful way. At the front desk as well, they kindly explained details about a partner Onsen, and there were many moments where we felt genuine hospitality. However, because my expectations were high, there were also a few disappointing points. During the meal, after receiving one bread refill, I assumed someone would come around again and ate it right away. I would have appreciated a brief explanation—such as how many refills are available. Also regarding the complimentary photo session: based on an experience at another affiliated property before, I had imagined more natural shots. This time there were many detailed instructions from the photographer about props and poses, which made both us and our dog feel unsettled. Since we purchased the data as well, I think it would have felt more satisfying if they had asked about our preferred style before starting. The wait to review the data was also very crowded; it would help if this could be managed by Reservation or some other system. The hardest part was that there was a dog barking continuously nearby throughout our meal. This isn’t the Hotel’s fault, but with such persistent high-pitched barking we couldn’t relax and ended up leaving early. Because the staff’s service was otherwise excellent, I wished the Hotel had clearly explained verbally that if keeping proper manners is difficult—for example due to excessive barking—guests may be asked to have their dog stay in their Room. Since this trip was an expensive treat for me, these gaps in guidance and aspects of the environment left me feeling somewhat disappointed overall.

    Good value for money, but some aspects were disappointing...

    The meals and staff were excellent—great value for the price, with nothing to complain about and truly commendable. However, while the Room itself was nice, there were several areas where the Room and bathroom cleaning seemed insufficient. It was especially disappointing to find quite a few dog hairs left on the seat of a dining chair. I would like to stay again, so I strongly hope this will be improved.

    At check-in, I was shown a Room that was lower grade than the one in my Reservation. When I told them it didn’t match my Reservation, I was kept waiting for a while and then shown another Room. Perhaps because it was arranged at the last minute, the Room had a musty smell, and sitting on the floor cushion made my skin itch. The bathroom was full of insects, and I didn’t feel comfortable using the bathtub. The plumbing fixtures were very old; even when I tightened the faucet as hard as I could, water still dripped and my hand started to hurt. The meals were good, but I wouldn’t stay again.

    I decided on a last-...

    I decided on a last-minute trip and was able to make a Reservation, so I stayed for one night. This time I reserved the top-grade 1DK Room, but the actual Room was not a 1DK and had the same layout as the standard type I used before. It also differed from the Room photos on the Reservation site. The Room seemed to have been nicely renovated, but I was looking forward to something different this time, so it was disappointing—I'm not sure what to make of it. I was also surprised to be charged an Onsen usage fee and a heating fee in addition to the accommodation cost. It may have been stated in detail and I simply missed it, but I wanted to end the trip with good memories, so I checked out without saying anything. Still, that uneasy feeling remained, so I decided to write this here. Is this just something that happens when traveling?

    Regarding the Facility, it would be very helpful to have a dog gate on the stairs in the Room. We were concerned about our dog jumping, so we blocked it ourselves.

    The space was very cool, comfortable, and relaxing. We were upgraded to a higher-grade cottage, which was so wonderful that it felt almost too luxurious, making this trip far exceed our expectations. The meals were well-portioned and extremely delicious. Honestly, we would have been even happier if breakfast had been Japanese-style as well. The staff were experienced in handling dogs and interacted with them smoothly. Their neat appearance left a great impression. This is definitely a place that makes us want to stay again!

    It exceeded expectations.

    I stayed at a pet-friendly cottage. I usually don't have high expectations for meals at pet-friendly hotels, but this time both dinner and breakfast exceeded my expectations and were delicious. The cottage was clean, and I had no complaints. The only dissatisfaction with the facility was that the bathhouse was far away and required an additional fee. The women in our group used the cottage's bathroom instead. During dinner, a staff member kindly provided us with sightseeing information about the area, which allowed us to enjoy a fulfilling day the next day. The service from other staff members was also pleasant, making our stay enjoyable. The Yatsugatake area is quiet with few people, offering a relaxing atmosphere. It has become a place I would like to visit again.

    It was excellent.

    Stayed at the cottage with my beloved dog. The cottage was a bit old, but it was well-cleaned, and the living room, bathroom, toilet, and bedroom were all spotless. Both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious! The staff at the front desk and restaurant provided excellent service with great care. It was a perfect two-day stay. I will definitely visit again!

    It was excellent!

    Thank you for the cottage upgrade. The wood stove was truly amazing. We also enjoyed the snowy dog run. It was our dog's first time at a dog run at 11 years old, but he seemed to enjoy exploring the snowy forest. The meals were delicious, and the staff were kind as well. This time we stayed in a cottage because our camper van was undergoing inspection, but next time we plan to come specifically for the cottage stay.

    Relax at the cottage

    I wanted to stay for a few nights.

    We were very satisfied with the very beautiful cottage. The meals were also delicious. We could only stay for one night due to our schedule, but next time, we would like to have a relaxing Multiple Night Stay.

    The food and service are excellent.

    This was my first time staying here, and overall, I was satisfied. The dinner was particularly delicious. Additionally, the staff provided detailed advice on tourist spots during breakfast, which was very helpful. The dog run was well-maintained, and I felt it was perfect for staying with my beloved dog.
