    Thank you very much.

    We stayed as a couple with our 0-year-old baby. From check-in, they took a photo of the three of us and provided toys for our child. At dinner, our child got sleepy, and when we asked for a floor cushion, they kindly brought one right away. During the koto performance, they even played children’s songs, and our daughter seemed to really enjoy it. Traveling with a child can be challenging from the very start when choosing an Accommodation, but everyone was truly kind to us. Thanks to them, we had a wonderful time. Thank you very much.

    It was the best accommodation.

    Everything was perfect—from the hospitality and Onsen to the meals and service. The Onsen was at a comfortable temperature and excellent quality, and since the large public bath was very close to our Room, we could enjoy it as often as we liked. The food was not overly seasoned, allowing the natural flavors of each ingredient to shine, and we were extremely satisfied with both dinner and breakfast. Everyone at the Accommodation welcomed us warmly from start to finish, making this an outstanding stay. We will definitely return!

    A wonderful accommodation with excellent hospitality.

    We chose this accommodation because it is in a location without concerns about snow during the cold season, and it truly lived up to its great reputation. The room was clean and comfortable, allowing us to relax fully. The food was especially delicious—the freshly grilled char fish was crispy, the spring rolls were hot, and everything had a gentle seasoning that left us completely satisfied.     It was a very comfor...

    It was a very comfortable and relaxing accommodation. I went with my elderly mother, and having an elevator was greatly appreciated. The onsen had the perfect temperature, leaving my skin smooth and feeling great. Attention to detail was evident everywhere, the room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The handmade tofu at breakfast was delicious. It’s such a wonderful accommodation that makes me want to visit again!

    The cozy atmosphere was truly relaxing.

    This was my first visit to Kuroiso, and it exceeded my expectations, so I wanted to leave a review. Above all, the staff were very pleasant, and from the moment of shuttle service, I had a feeling this would be a "wonderful accommodation." The accommodation itself is not too large, creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere that I really liked. The onsen was just right with its lukewarm water, allowing me to soak leisurely. I loved the quality of the water so much that I used the bath in my room nearly 10 times! My skin felt smooth as a result. Now for some requests for future improvements—apologies for being detailed: The rooms with private onsens are located near the public bath area, which meant there was constant foot traffic throughout the night... The sound of doors opening and closing at the entrance of the public bath kept me awake. If possible, I'd appreciate either better soundproofing in these rooms or adjustments to reduce door noise. Additionally, I found the futon mattress quite hard and not very comfortable for sleeping—it would be great if something like an Airweave mattress could be provided. One more thing: during breakfast service in our private dining room, we were left unattended for nearly 30 minutes (laughs). Despite waiting patiently while hungry, no one came by; eventually we served ourselves rice and lit our hot pot using a lighter provided nearby! While such coordination mishaps can happen occasionally and are understandable, having something like a call button in private dining rooms might help guests signal their presence when needed. Despite these minor points mentioned above—thanks to perfectly balanced service distances from staff members combined with delicious meals plus excellent onsen facilities—I had an overall highly satisfying stay at your accommodation! Should these areas improve further someday soon enough—I’d love returning again without hesitation! Thank you sincerely once again—for crafting such memorable experiences during this wonderful stay!

    It was good until we reached the accommodation...

    The smell in the Room's toilet was very noticeable, to the point where I preferred not to use it. Upon closer inspection, there were urine stains, and even with the ventilation fan on, it didn’t help. I strongly request measures to address this issue.

    This will be my third stay. The meals and hospitality are impeccable. I especially enjoy the alcohol service after dinner and the coffee or tea service after breakfast.

    The interior, greeted with matcha, surprises guests with a contrast to its exterior and excites the heart upon arrival. This cozy accommodation is filled with a gentle atmosphere, perfect for relaxation. The staff's service is straightforward, check-in is smooth, and the renovated rooms are clean (with some slightly older elements). The inner garden adds charm, and all aspects exceeded expectations. The large public bath offers a new yet atmospheric setting with gentle spring water and perfectly heated natural flow. Meals were well-balanced in taste, presentation, and creativity—showcasing the chef's excellent sense. Morning coffee was also delightful. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay that makes you want to return to this accommodation again.

    An accommodation that satisfies guests of all ages.

    We stayed as a three-generation family, including small children. Since one of the children has food allergies, we consulted with the hotel in advance to ask if they could inform us about any relevant ingredients in the meals on the day. They kindly agreed, and on the day, staff provided explanations which allowed us to enjoy our meals with peace of mind. The child seemed to find the food delicious and ate more than usual. For both breakfast and dinner, they provided plain rice for the child and also prepared cutlery and a high chair for kids, which was very helpful. The meals were visually appealing and flavorful without being overly seasoned—delicious enough to satisfy both adults and children alike. In our room, there was a special chair for kids as well as a diaper disposal bin in the restroom, which was incredibly convenient. The interior of the accommodation had a chic and calming atmosphere that was truly lovely. In addition, at certain times in the lobby area, there were complimentary drinks or snacks available that changed depending on time—this delighted family members who enjoy both alcohol and good food. Overall, it was an excellent balance of quality service at great value—a highly satisfying accommodation experience! We would love to stay here again!

    Thank you very much for your hospitality. Although I was surprised that there was nothing around the accommodation (I had mistakenly thought it was in an onsen town), once inside, the interior and furnishings were beautiful, and the staff's hospitality was exceptional. Both dinner and breakfast were served in private rooms with high-quality content, and there were delightful surprises such as an extra cup included in the sake tasting set and a gift of a Mashiko ware sake cup! If I may suggest one improvement, it would be to add an elevator to the building with the accommodation rooms instead of relying solely on stairs.

    A budget-friendly Stays that is also child-friendly.

    From the entrance, we enjoyed matcha and sweets in a Japanese atmosphere before heading to the room. Between baths, we had coffee in the resting area, and after dinner, we relaxed in the lounge with drinks and snacks. The music varied with the scene, with refreshing tunes in the morning and light jazz at night, creating a very pleasant ambiance. Flower vases were placed everywhere, even in the bath. The interior had a Japanese taste, and I heard it was to the landlady's liking, with cute interior accessories. There was also children's shampoo in the bath and picture books in the resting area, making it a property friendly to families with children. I thought about bringing my grandchildren next time. The meals were delicious, and the cost performance was excellent. I would like to visit again in a different season.

    Stays on January 3rd with my sister

    I visited Kuroiso Onsen, which I had been curious about for a long time. The property built on the banks of the Naka River is lovely from the entrance. We were welcomed with matcha and Japanese sweets. This time, the room was luxurious with an onsen, but the large public bath was also nearby, and we enjoyed it a lot. The meals were a parade of luxurious ingredients, and I thought a plan with a little less quantity would be better next time, so I rated it 4 points. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner in a private room at a leisurely pace. After dinner, when we came to the lobby, it started snowing, and it was beautiful, so we relaxed while having plum wine. It was spacious and we could relax. Thank you very much. It is a property I would like to stay at again.

    Failure stories

    I had a good experience before, so I made a reservation through IKYU this time, thinking the price was cheaper than before. I chose a Plan with in-room dining, but it was an extremely small Room with futons laid out, and meals were served there?? I was astonished. Meals were served on a tray, handed over at the entrance. I added warm sukiyaki to the meal. I couldn't foresee this from the Plan. A huge mistake. Also, the cleaning of the men's bath was questionable?? I was really looking forward to the end of the year, so it was very disappointing.

    This was my first time using this accommodation, and it was absolutely wonderful. The facility and services were meticulously detailed, the onsen was deeply relaxing, and both meals were delicious. The live koto performance before dinner and the coffee with small sweets after breakfast were also delightful. It was so enjoyable that I ended up making another reservation. However, during check-in and check-out, my larger luggage was overlooked while only my husband's smaller luggage received assistance. This happened both times, which left me puzzled—perhaps there is some kind of rule?

    A property with excellent hospitality and atmosphere.

    We used the property for a three-generation family birthday trip. From the welcome to the farewell, all the staff were cheerful and kind, allowing us to have a pleasant time. Upon check-in, they lent toys to keep the children entertained, and during dinner, they provided a wonderful birthday presentation. We also received various other thoughtful gestures. The bath had one indoor and one outdoor bath, and although not extremely large, perhaps because there aren't too many rooms, even on a fully booked day, we could enjoy it comfortably without worrying about others. The meals were also very delicious Japanese cuisine. This property is certified as a "Welcome Baby" property, and while other "Welcome Baby" properties we've stayed at had perfect amenities but mediocre meals, everything here was excellent. We would like to visit again with the purpose of staying here.

    It was a cozy Ryokan.

    The number of Rooms was not too many, and it was a relaxing Ryokan. All the staff were cheerful and kind, allowing us to have a pleasant time. The Room was neither large nor small, a bit old but cleanly maintained. When I entered the bath, there was only one other person, so I thought the bath was also available due to the limited number of Rooms. There was also an open-air bath, which made for a pleasant bathing experience. Thank you very much.

    I made a reservation because the reviews were good, and it was even more wonderful than expected, leaving me very satisfied. At check-in, they confirmed any food preferences and accommodated us, so everyone enjoyed their meals completely. The entire facility was tastefully decorated, with fresh flowers displayed in many places, showing attention to detail. The garden visible from the lobby was well-maintained, making me feel luxurious just by looking at it. The facility was thoroughly cleaned, and the temperature of the onsen was just right, leaving nothing to be desired. I would definitely like to use it again.

    It was a very lovely Ryokan.

    It was my first time using this Ryokan, and everything was wonderful. I was worried about causing trouble by bringing my young son, but they were considerate of him, and he was in a good mood and high spirits throughout our stay. We, as parents, were also able to relax and enjoy our time. The food and Onsen were excellent! We've already talked as a family about wanting to stay again. Haha. I was touched when they neatly arranged my son's toy cars when they laid out the futon. I'm sorry for causing trouble until the end by leaving something behind. We look forward to staying again.

    The garden leading to the entrance was incredibly beautiful. In the lobby, there was coffee in the morning and nightcaps in the evening, allowing me to relax while watching other guests enjoy themselves. The Onsen was perfect!!! The only disappointment was the terrible smell from the drains in the toilet and washroom, which made me reluctant to leave the Room.

    I had a wonderful stay with my son on our parent-child trip. The hospitality was excellent. While there are many properties that are stylish and luxurious but make guests feel like they have to conform to the property, this place was different. Although the furnishings were not brand new, each staff member provided hospitality that did not rely on a manual. From the shuttle service to meals, the bath, and the room, every detail was attended to so that guests could feel comfortable. Even though it was just a one-night stay, we were able to relax very comfortably. My high school son said that the property was the most memorable part of our two-day trip, so I believe people of all ages can have a pleasant time here.

    It was a very lovely space.

    All the staff were kind and made my trip to Tochigi worthwhile. Their responses didn't seem to follow a manual; each word was considerate and warm, making it a very nice inn.
