It was a wonderful accommodation! I’d love to stay again.

I learned about this Ryokan through a friend’s recommendation and decided to stay here. The view from the Room and the open-air bath was amazing, and that alone made me very satisfied. Both the Room and the baths were thoroughly cleaned, so I was able to spend my time comfortably. The private open-air bath and dining in a private room also allowed me to relax, which was wonderful. Towels were freely available in the women’s open-air bath. These days, most Onsen or Hotels provide only a minimal towel set, but since I used the baths several times during my stay, I truly appreciated this service. The staff were kind as well, and overall I was extremely satisfied with everything. If I had to mention one small disappointment: dinner was very delicious and generously portioned, but there were several times when I couldn’t understand what was being explained about the dishes. Also, the timing of the main grilled dish felt a bit off—it was served as just meat after we had already finished both rice and all other dishes—so I wondered if that timing was intentional. It made me hope that Japan’s uniquely attentive hospitality and services will not be lost. That said, everyone’s warm service and thoughtful attention were truly excellent. I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    Thank you for your support.

The building is old, but it was well cleaned and well maintained. The bath was not too crowded, so it was easy to use. As for the meals, the fish was good, but there were some aspects that felt a bit wasteful. The splendid alfonsino (kinmedai) was slightly overcooked. Also, appetizers and other dishes were all served at once, so there is a sense of volume, but you don’t get the excitement of having each dish brought out one by one. Most of the staff were foreign nationals; it wasn’t particularly inconvenient, though there were some language limitations.

    We had a relaxing stay.

I’d been interested in this Accommodation for a while, and I finally got to stay here. I was completely satisfied with everything—the open-air bath in the Room, the private open-air bath, and the meals. Thank you very much.

    Enjoy your solo trip!

I stayed here because they offer a solo traveler Plan, and I was looking for an Accommodation known for its hot water and meals. Although there is no large public bath, there are several private open-air and indoor baths, so I could always soak in peace whenever I went. There is also a free-flowing open-air bath in the Room, and at first I wondered if I really needed it—but bathing while looking out at the sparkling sea was amazing. The meals lived up to their reputation and were truly lavish; what surprised me most was that the simmered golden eye snapper was served as a whole fish. I got so full that I even skipped the steak because I wanted to pour the snapper sauce over my rice. I was extremely satisfied with the chef’s carefully crafted dishes. All of the staff were pleasant and attentive, making my stay very comfortable. That said, since it seems like an older Accommodation that has been renovated, there are many stairs, which may be difficult for elderly guests. It’s an Accommodation I’d love to visit again in a different season.

    Thank you for your support.

The ocean view from the Room is breathtaking, and the scenery from the open-air bath in the Room feels truly extraordinary. Because the hot spring source is very hot, adjusting the temperature of the open-air bath in the Room can be a bit tricky, but it’s a highly satisfying private open-air bath experience. We also used the private reservable baths several times, and there was always at least one available, so we never missed out. To get to meals and the private open-air baths, we needed to use some stairs. I had seen a Review mentioning an odor in the Room, but there was no cigarette smell at all. Towels were provided at both the indoor bath and the gender-segregated open-air baths. If I had one request, I would have preferred samue loungewear—it’s easier to move around in than a yukata. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    Great location and great food.

This was my first stay, chosen because I wanted an Accommodation close to the sea with a good dinner and a private open-air bath. The oceanfront view, with islands such as Oshima visible, was wonderful. The private open-air bath was not crowded, and I enjoyed the morning bath—complete with a cat greeting us. However, there were already mosquitoes around, so I’m concerned about heavy mosquito activity in summer. Dinner was delicious and met my expectations. At night the sea was a bit rough and the sound of the waves bothered me slightly, but I slept better than expected. It’s an Accommodation I’d like to visit again on a clear day.

A Highly Rated Accommodation, Just as the Reviews Say

We chose this Accommodation because it had high ratings and Reviews. When we arrived, a man waiting in front of the Accommodation guided us right away and asked, “May I wipe your car’s windshield before you depart? It can get dirty from the sea breeze.” At checkout, the windshield was spotless. At dinner, we were smoothly shown to our table, and the moment I saw the dishes laid out, I felt excited by the vibrant, colorful spread of carefully prepared cuisine. The spiny lobster sashimi and assorted sashimi were fresh, and in contrast to the many delicately made appetizers, there was a large alfonsino simmered boldly. The roasted green tea ice cream for dessert was perfect as a palate cleanser. Only the beef steak felt like a missed opportunity. Without raising prices, I wondered if it could be improved—perhaps to filet dice steak. Breakfast was also delicious and clearly made with care, starting with spiny lobster miso soup. The service was excellent as well—they asked if we’d like another serving at exactly the right moment when we finished our rice. There are stairs in places on the way to the guest rooms, dining area, and bathhouse, and it does show its age in parts; however, it has been maintained with ongoing care. Just as in the Reviews, this was an Accommodation where both the food and the calm kindness of the staff left a lasting impression.

    Very satisfied.

I stayed for two nights. The dinner menu on the second night was excellent! The service was attentive as well. The Onsen was never crowded, so I could use it whenever I liked. Thank you very much.

    The meals were delicious.

Due to unstable weather, unfortunately we couldn’t use the open-air bath at night, but at other times we enjoyed the pleasant open-air bath with an ocean view and the relaxing indoor bath. Personally, I felt it could have been a bit hotter, but we were able to unwind in a private space and it was truly refreshing. The meals were very delicious, and the spiny lobster sashimi was especially memorable. The seafood-focused menu was enjoyable and tasted great. I wondered if the portions would be enough, but we ended up completely full. All of the staff were very friendly, and it was fun talking with them. Just one thing: the Facility felt a bit old. It didn’t cause any problems, but there were a few areas that stood out.

Fully satisfied with the private open-air bath and delicious meals

My spouse, my mother, and I stayed here as a group of three. Everyone at the Accommodation was very kind. The amenities were standard—neither particularly good nor bad—but one improvement would be to provide a small bag or basket to carry items to the bath. The meals were so generous that we couldn’t finish everything. The simmered golden eye snapper was excellently seasoned, and they even prepared a very large fish for us. The morning spiny lobster miso soup was delicious! Every dish was outstanding.

    One disappointment.

It was good value, and we were pleased with the well-equipped private baths. One disappointment was that there was only one abalone for two people. We didn’t need the thinly sliced meat and would have preferred two abalones instead. The sashimi and spiny lobster also tasted watery.

All the staff were polite and calm. We were given a Room with a full ocean view, and we were able to truly enjoy the sea. The sunrise was also visible from the Room, which was amazing. The bath could be reserved for private use, so we were able to relax and spend time at our own pace. It was wonderful.

    Unfortunately.

This was my first time staying at an Accommodation labeled “casual.” Given the good reviews and that it wasn’t particularly cheap, I arrived with high expectations, but the result was somewhat disappointing. The Onsen itself was truly wonderful—definitely a skin-beautifying hot spring. The six outdoor baths also seemed to be carefully temperature-controlled. When I came out of one of the outdoor baths, someone who appeared to be in charge of the baths asked, “How was the water temperature?” which left a very positive impression. However, except for the women-only outdoor bath, there were no towels provided and you need to bring them from your Room. In the Room there were only two bath towels that felt quite worn (with some areas noticeably thinned) and one face towel. Since I had a Room with an open-air bath, I wanted to fully enjoy the Onsen without hesitation—but found myself holding back because of the towel situation. There was also no small carry basket or similar item for bringing towels to the outdoor baths, which was inconvenient. The Room had none of an elegant designer feel; it was simple and sparse. Honestly, it wasn’t very relaxing. Amenities were truly minimal—only one small packet containing two cotton pads. The refrigerator was empty as well; there wasn’t even a bottle of mineral water (though I could buy one for 100 yen from a vending machine in the building). While I understand cutting costs is common these days, it still felt rather bleak. Overall, I didn’t feel this stay matched the price. The final straw was the air conditioner vent. Rust may be unavoidable due to sea air damage, but I can’t understand leaving multiple large brown clumps of dust so visibly built up. It made me want to go home as soon as possible. On a positive note, there was a card in the Room listing sunrise times by season—this kind gesture really touched me. The meals were delicious. The abalone at dinner was satisfyingly large and tender, and the dried horse mackerel at breakfast was nicely fatty and flavorful. I also liked items such as simmered eggplant served with the hot spring egg. The miso soup made with broth from spiny lobster heads was excellent as well—some places that claim to be luxury Ryokan still serve fishy-tasting dishes that aren’t good. That said, the beef at dinner was just greasy and tough; it would have been fine without it. All staff members conveyed genuine hospitality—to the point that I almost feel bad writing such critical comments—but precisely because of that potential, I’m sharing this feedback anyway. I sincerely hope cleaning of the air conditioner will be addressed immediately.

    Affordable Accommodation

Stayed over New Year’s (sorry for the late Review). It felt like a great deal to stay at such a reasonable price, especially with an open-air Onsen bath in the Room and a full ocean view. This time we stayed on the 3rd floor, so if we have the chance next time, we’d like to try staying on the 4th floor.

Nothing beats an Onsen in winter!

This was my first stay, and I stayed for one night starting on Monday. What I liked: - Staff hospitality It seems there are many international staff members, but everyone provided their best service with warm smiles, which was wonderful. - Meals Dinner in particular was excellent, with simmered golden eye snapper, meat dishes, abalone, and spiny lobster sashimi. There were also many other dishes from the appetizer onward, and everything was delicious. The red miso soup was also great, and I appreciated that refills were free. - Private Onsen I went twice—around 4:00 PM shortly after arriving at the Accommodation, and again after dinner. It wasn’t crowded and there were no other guests at those times, so I could enjoy it a lot. The temperature was just right, and personally I loved the private bath with enough space to stretch out (the third one from the left?). What disappointed me: - The private Onsen closed at 9:30 AM (?) even though check-out is at 11:00 AM. If it were available until around 10:30 AM, it would be much appreciated for those who want to relax until the last minute. - The Room shower seemed broken? I stayed in Room 504, but when I tried to take a shower in the morning there was no hot water. Hot water did come from the bathtub faucet, so I think it may have been an issue with the shower. - Weak water pressure in the open-air public bath showers In both the men’s bath—and according to my girlfriend’s experience in the women’s bath as well—the shower water pressure was weak. Overall, it was a very satisfying trip and I’d like to stay again. I hope these points will be improved by next time!

    You can enjoy your stay.

A wonderful Accommodation where you can enjoy the fresh sea air and beautiful views, along with a high-quality Onsen and excellent meals. The food is sincere and natural (the light seasoning is especially impressive), and we enjoyed the entire lineup. It was very well put together.

We visited as a family of three.

This was my first time staying here. Thank you for upgrading me to a spacious Room. It was very large and comfortable. The dinner had a wide variety of dishes with creative touches, and it was very delicious. Breakfast was also tasty, and I finished everything on my plate. I look forward to staying again if I have the chance.

Great value for money even during New Year's!

Stayed for 2 nights starting from New Year's Day. I am a Diamond Member of IKYU and have been staying at various hotels or ryokans every New Year's Eve or New Year for the past 10 years, even during the pandemic. This was my first visit to Hiina. The website mentioned that the room's open-air bath was small, but it was larger and more comfortable than I imagined. Plus, being right in front of the sea and watching the sunrise on New Year's Day lifted my spirits. I also enjoyed three different private baths, each with its own unique charm. The meals were luxurious with lobster, abalone, golden-eye snapper, and meat dishes. My companion usually doesn't eat fish but finished all the dried fish because it was so delicious! The attendant during our meals was friendly and made our dining experience very pleasant. One minor disappointment was that since we stayed multiple nights over New Year’s, I would have appreciated if ozoni (traditional soup) had been served at least once instead of one of the other dishes. Additionally, many accommodations no longer offer shuttle service due to work style reforms or staff shortages; as someone without a car, having shuttle service is incredibly helpful. Last November when I stayed at another accommodation in Izu, even calling a taxi resulted in a 40-minute wait due to unavailability. In contrast, Hiina promptly picked us up after just one call—perfect service! For this price during New Year’s with such exceptional hospitality (Omotenashi), this has been by far the best value in 10 years. I look forward to visiting again! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

    Highly satisfied.

The food was absolutely delicious. We stayed for two nights and were initially worried about the variety of meals, but the dishes on the second day were completely different from the first. We truly appreciate the chef's thoughtful consideration. The staff members were also kind and attentive, making our stay even more pleasant. There were several open-air baths, each with its own unique charm and excellent hot water! If I may suggest, having an indoor bath (not necessarily private) would make this Facility even better. In midwinter, it can be a bit tough to warm up in an open-air bath at first.

    It was excellent.

I visited at the end of summer in September and had such a great time that I came back in December to see the winter scenery. It felt more like autumn than winter, but both the meals and the Onsen were absolutely amazing. Since it was my second visit, I was more familiar with everything and enjoyed it even more than last time. I managed to try all seven private open-air baths, and thoroughly enjoyed dinner with dishes like lobster, abalone, and beef. Next time, I’d love to come back with my wife to enjoy the spring scenery!

Private baths are amazing! Great value for money!

This was our first visit to Hina. We were told we could use the private open-air Onsen if it was available, so we enjoyed it multiple times. It was spacious enough for two people and absolutely wonderful. The Room's bath wasn't open-air, but it also had Onsen water, which was fantastic. The meals were incredible, featuring dishes like Ise lobster sashimi, simmered golden eye snapper, abalone, and steak—so much that we couldn't finish everything. With the Ryokan located right in front of the sea, it's in a perfect location. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't great so we couldn't see the sunrise this time, but on a clear day you can enjoy a beautiful view of it as well. It's truly a lovely Ryokan. We had such a wonderful time here. Thank you very much!

    It became a wonderful memory.

We stayed with our 7-month-old baby. The staff kindly provided a high chair and warmed up baby food, which was very helpful. The meals had a wide variety of dishes, allowing us to enjoy different flavors. They were delicious. The Facility was overall clean, and the private open-air bath in the guest room was spacious enough for three of us to enjoy together. All the staff provided warm and friendly service. Thank you very much!

Blissful Hot Spring Experience and Delicious Cuisine

After enjoying the autumn roses at Kawazu Bagatelle Park, we arrived at the accommodation. Although we arrived 5 minutes earlier than scheduled, the staff welcomed us and guided us inside. This time, our room was the same as last time with an excellent view. It had an open-air bath where you could enjoy bathing while looking at the sea, though adjusting the water temperature was a bit tricky. The quality of the hot spring water was excellent and kept us warm for a long time. The bathroom featured double sinks, which were very convenient. In the private open-air bath, my favorite large tub "Manzaburo" was available first thing by luck, and it felt great to soak in it—it warmed me up thoroughly. After dinner, I enjoyed soaking in a round ceramic bath called "Bonbori." Unfortunately, it was cloudy that night so I couldn’t see any stars. Later at midnight, I had exclusive use of a large indoor private bath all to myself—it felt like pure bliss. The dinner dishes were all incredibly delicious with exceptional service from staff members who greeted us warmly everywhere with smiles—making this accommodation feel very welcoming overall! Breakfast too left nothing to be desired. Overall everything about this stay exceeded expectations; no wonder there are so many repeat guests! If given another chance someday—I’d love returning here again soon! Thank you once more for taking such good care during our visit!

    The cuisine is exceptional.

There are many accommodations in the Izu area, but I was amazed by the excellent cuisine. The sea-view room and multiple open-air baths were wonderful. I was surprised by the size of the golden eye snapper and abalone. This is an accommodation I would like to use again.

I stayed with my wife at this accommodation. There are seven private baths (six open-air baths and one indoor bath), which you can use as many times as you'd like for free if they are available. The open atmosphere was incredibly relaxing. The meals offered a wide variety, and dinner was especially impressive—we were captivated by the dishes the moment we sat down and exchanged glances in amazement. From the warm welcome to the farewell, we truly felt the spirit of hospitality at this accommodation, and we would love to stay here again.

    Ultimate Vacation

I stayed for one night in September. Overall, the meals and front desk service were exceptional, allowing me to have a very pleasant time. The Onsen was particularly impressive, exceeding my expectations, and I enjoyed the private open-air bath so much that I used it multiple times. Personally, I felt that the private open-air bath was set at a slightly higher temperature, perhaps to prevent prolonged soaking. On the other hand, the open-air bath attached to the room allowed for adjustable temperature settings, making it comfortable to enjoy according to personal preference. However, there were no mosquito repellents provided for the room's open-air bath area, so many insects were attracted by the light. This might not be an issue for those who don't mind such things. Overall, considering its cost performance, it was an extremely satisfying holiday experience. My heartfelt thanks go out to you all! I would definitely recommend this accommodation to family and friends.

The ryokan by the sea welcomed us warmly with very friendly hotel staff. The welcome drink was delicious, and I appreciated the use of a tablet for facility explanations, which felt modern and convenient. There was a wide variety of yukata to choose from, and I enjoyed wearing colors I don't usually wear. The room was impeccably clean, and the open-air bath attached to the room was incredibly relaxing. At night, the stars were breathtakingly beautiful. For dinner, it would have been nice if the dishes were served at a slightly slower pace. However, the taste exceeded expectations—I even had two extra servings of rice because it was so delicious! Thank you for accommodating my allergies so thoughtfully; I truly appreciated it. In the morning, they even cleaned our car windows before departure, making our farewell pleasant. Thank you very much! The location of amenities was a bit hard to find. Also, it would be great if softer toothbrushes could be provided instead of hard ones. I will definitely stay at this accommodation again when visiting Shizuoka!

Onsen, cuisine, and hospitality were all absolutely satisfying!

Accommodation Plan: Ocean View 10-Tatami Room with Ceramic Open-Air Bath We had a general idea from the images on the reservation site, but the stunning ocean view exceeded our expectations! The room was originally smoking-allowed, but since we requested a non-smoking room in advance, they deodorized it thoroughly. There was no smell at all, and it was very comfortable. The balcony had a bath and chairs where we enjoyed a morning bath while watching the sunrise and spent relaxing evenings gazing at the ocean. There were also open-air baths available without reservations, offering various types to enjoy while admiring the ocean view. It was convenient as no prior booking was needed and there were plenty of options available. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the food—it was exceptional! Both breakfast and dinner were served in private rooms, with perfect taste and portions that left us fully satisfied. We stayed for two nights, enjoying dishes like spiny lobster and golden eye snapper prepared differently each evening so we never got bored of them. The rice's texture was just right as well, making every meal delightful. If I had to point out any drawbacks, it would be that the sliding door of the toilet in our room made some noise when opened or closed. Additionally, being near the sea meant salt deposits formed on our car bonnet; however, staff kindly cleaned our windshield early in the morning which we greatly appreciated. The hospitality throughout our stay—from arrival to departure—was outstanding. Many staff members working here are from overseas but spoke excellent Japanese and treated us with great care and politeness. This trip felt like an indulgence compared to usual travels for us but proved entirely worth it! Summer in Izu is fantastic; combined with such an enjoyable time at this ryokan made this experience truly memorable. We look forward to visiting again during another season!

    First time

This was my first time staying here, and the proximity to the ocean made it feel refreshing. I read reviews and had high expectations for the bath. However, when heading to the private bath around 4 PM, a bee flew near us while walking outside, and it almost stung someone in our group who has a bee allergy. Unfortunately, they had forgotten their EpiPen this time, so we could only use the bath that one time. The indoor bath has two washing areas and is more like a family-sized bath. It was disappointing that there wasn’t a larger public bath available. The meals were exceptional—everything was delicious and of excellent quality. There were many international guests during our stay, and while some dining manners caught my attention, I appreciated how hard the staff worked to accommodate everyone diligently.

It was a very nice accommodation.

Excellent service, delicious meals, and a wonderful Onsen experience. When leaving, the owner kindly cleaned bird droppings off our car, which we greatly appreciated. It would be even better if there were non-smoking rooms available.
