    Unfortunately.

    The restaurant’s buffet offered excellent, carefully prepared dishes. However, I was disappointed with the draft beer I ordered by the glass. Despite being a Hotel, the glass was not chilled and the beer was lukewarm. The follow-up response was also disappointing. It was unfortunate that just one beer spoiled what should have been a great memory of my stay in Dogo.

    We had a comfortable stay. Located in the heart of the Dogo Onsen area, it’s a great place for a leisurely stroll. All the staff made a very good impression.

    The food and service...

    The food and service were disappointing. They didn’t notice that the coffee machine was showing an error. Even after I pointed it out and the issue was fixed, there was no acknowledgment. Alcohol was overpriced, and the service lacked friendliness. Overall, it did not meet my expectations.

    It became a wonderful memory!

    We stayed here for a family trip for the first time in a while. It was a wonderful Accommodation, just as friends had recommended if we were staying in Dogo. As many Reviews mention, the location is truly excellent. It’s close to Dogo Onsen Honkan, and it was an easy walk—enjoying shopping along the arcade—to Dogo Onsen Station and the Karakuri Clock. We had informed them in advance that we would use the parking lot, and upon arrival they kindly guided us there, which made it very easy to understand. Our Room was on the 7th floor with a great view over Dogo town; our son relaxed while looking out at the scenery the whole time. Thank you for arranging such a nice view. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style, and everything was delicious. A staff member in training quickly noticed and cleared empty plates, so even with four of us we could keep plenty of space on the table. We were especially happy to be able to try tai-meshi. The bath—praised by my family as well (“I’m glad you chose an Accommodation with an open-air bath!”)—was a comfortable size. The open-air bath felt wonderful with the night breeze; we could look up at the sky and unwind, which really eased our daily fatigue. In the morning there were fewer people as well, so we could soak slowly. The relaxation area prepared outside the bath (the water was delicious) also had chairs by the window with a panoramic view. It was great being able to enjoy both nighttime and morning views of Dogo. Before our stay I emailed some questions; they replied quickly and explained everything carefully, which helped us feel at ease. If I had one small suggestion, it would be that an exhaust fan in the toilet inside the guest Room would have been nice. Overall, everyone on staff was very pleasant and we were very satisfied. Our trip to Dogo Onsen became a wonderful memory thanks to choosing Chaharu. Thank you very much.

    Room

    This was my first stay. I had made a Reservation for a twin room, but they upgraded me to a Japanese-modern twin room. The meals and baths were excellent, and the staff greeted me with warm smiles. I had a wonderful time.

    Three of us stayed for two nights in a Japanese-style room. - What we liked The hot spring water quality was excellent, so we could soak comfortably without feeling overheated. The meals were just the right quality and portion size, and everything was delicious. The items sold in the shop have wonderful taste and selection. - What concerned us We found several long hairs on the futon area, which made us feel the cleaning was a bit insufficient. Although there were three of us, there were two occasions at mealtime when only two place settings were provided. Since we had a Reservation and our seats were assigned, we could understand it happening once on the first day, but having it happen twice made us wonder.

    The location was exc...

    The location was excellent, close to both the Dogo Onsen Honkan and the shopping arcade. Some parts felt a bit old, but it had been renovated and the Room was well cleaned, so it didn’t bother me much. I booked a plan with breakfast, but even though a staff member came to tell us there were seats available, the male staff member at the entrance kept telling us to wait because there were no seats and wouldn’t show us in for quite some time. They may have been adjusting seating numbers, but if so, I think they could have explained that it was busy or given some other reason. It left me feeling a little disappointed from the morning.

    Both the Onsen and the meals exceeded our expectations.

    A Hotel located right next to the famous Dogo Onsen Honkan. With no buildings blocking the view, we could enjoy a panorama of the Shikoku mountain range from our Room. The large public bath is on the top floor, and from the men’s bath you can take in sweeping views of Matsuyama city and Matsuyama Castle. Soaking in high-quality hot-spring water while enjoying this spectacular scenery feels truly luxurious. The open-air bath is one floor above, so you’ll need to use the stairs, but on clear nights you can enjoy a starry sky. The dinner and breakfast buffets make great use of local ingredients, with a lineup of dishes that are more elaborate than expected. You can sample local specialties little by little all in one place—very satisfying!

    Great location, cleanliness, and high satisfaction.

    The location was perfect for a trip focused on bathing at Dogo Onsen Honkan (just a 2-minute walk from the main building). The meals were buffet-style with a good variety and acceptable taste. However, staying for two nights meant the menu was exactly the same both days, which made it a bit monotonous. We stayed in an Executive Room, and the 9th floor being an exclusive floor gave us some sense of priority as elevators arrived quickly. The room was very clean and spacious enough for three people. However, the shower in the room seemed to be foreign-made and difficult to use without instructions; all three of us accidentally got soaked while still dressed at least once. The public bath wasn’t particularly remarkable but had just the right temperature for me, though my parents found it lukewarm. It would have been nice if there were a sauna available. The Japanese male doorman was excellent as expected, but I also appreciated how fluent and professional one of the female front desk staff members (possibly Chinese?) was in Japanese—she left a great impression! On the other hand, while browsing souvenirs at the shop, one young male staff member (also possibly Chinese?) turned off the lights on my shelf without asking until I asked if they were closing; only then did he turn them back on. A female staff member scolded him in Chinese after noticing this incident but neither offered any apology to me directly—and his slight smirk during this interaction felt inappropriate. While cultural differences may play a role here, I believe that working in Japan requires learning its general manners and customs. Overall though, I had an enjoyable stay with high satisfaction—thank you very much!

    Convenient location ...

    Convenient location for shopping and trying local food! The building itself seems old, but the lobby and room were renovated and clean. However, there were some disappointing points... We chose a breakfast-only plan, but the variety was limited, and the taste was nothing special. It was our first visit to Dogo Onsen, so we were looking forward to enjoying the bath. Unfortunately, the facilities felt outdated in many areas, and both the open-air bath and indoor bath were small. I usually enjoy morning baths during trips but didn’t feel like taking one here... Also, I was a bit surprised by the rude attitude of one of the front desk staff members. It was a trip with my daughter, but unfortunately, our satisfaction level ended up being low (tears).

    Close to Dogo Onsen

    At first glance, the exterior looked quite old, which made me worried, but the entrance, lobby, and restaurant have been renovated and were very clean. The meals were refined and delicious. The Room had a slight issue with the tatami step.

    I wish I had been informed in advance.

    The bathroom sink in the room had no hot water, and I filled out the hotel's survey, but it was disappointing. If I had known at the time of Reservation, I would have chosen another Hotel.

    Service is courteous.

    The service was polite, the food was decent, and the open-air bath was excellent. However, the clientele was not ideal. Due to the affordable price, there were many university students? The bath area was noisy with their antics. A couple who were openly flirting on the daytime bus also stayed here. When I tried to use the shared restroom near the restaurant, it had unflushed waste and left me feeling uncomfortable. While this is an issue of guest manners and not the responsibility of the accommodation, I do regret making this reservation. It has been a valuable lesson for me.

    Everything is excellent.

    I stayed for a multiple night stay of two days. First, the Onsen water is excellent. It is said to be the same as that of Dogo Onsen Honkan. Next, the food is delicious and the portions were just right. The executive floor on the 9th floor has a quiet and calm atmosphere, and for meals during a two-day multiple night stay, they changed from Japanese cuisine on the first day to Western cuisine on the second day, showcasing thoughtful service. It was also wonderful that local dishes were incorporated into these meals. I was able to create important memories with my family. Thank you very much.

    Front Desk Service

    The front desk women during check-in and check-out seemed to dislike their customer service jobs, giving off a bad impression. There are plenty of jobs in the world, so if they don't like it, perhaps they should consider changing careers? Aside from those individuals, everyone else was working hard, which made them stand out even more.

    The Room and location were good.

    The convenience was good, and I was satisfied with the spacious Room, but breakfast was unexpectedly only until 9 AM! Even though I chose a Plan with breakfast included, I missed it. I would appreciate it if it could be extended to at least 10 AM.

    Pilgrimage Journey

    The room was small for a stay with four people, and the water facilities felt like an old hotel. The meals were very good. My friends were also very satisfied with the dinner, which was great.

    It was very convenient as it is located right next to Dogo Onsen. The room was on the 9th floor executive floor, and it was nice to be able to quickly reach the large public bath on the 10th floor. The staff's response was good, and I had a pleasant stay.

    I searched for a hot...

    I searched for a hotel near the station. The staff left a good impression. There are many minor issues, but considering the reasonable price, it is a good hotel worth the cost. I thought it would be better if the fittings in the room were improved as they rattle. Also, the washing area in the large public bath was cold. It is probably due to the cold air coming in from the open-air bath. It was disappointing. The food was delicious. I apologize for pointing out only minor details, but since it is a facility that welcomes guests from both domestic and international locations, I believe that attentive service tailored to Japanese guests is also necessary.

    Hotel I want to stay at again

    The rooms, food, bath, and staff are all excellent. It was a comfortable stay. When staying in Matsuyama, Chaharu (Chaharu) is the place to go.

    Great location!

    We had a course meal for dinner, and it was very delicious. We enjoyed the local cuisine of Ehime. The breakfast buffet was ordinary. The building is old, but it was well-cleaned, and we had a comfortable stay. Above all, the location was great, and it was nice to be able to go to the Dogo Onsen Main Building right away. It became one of the very good family travel memories. Thank you very much.

    I was able to enjoy a relaxing stay.

    Dogo Onsen Honkan was also very close, and we were able to enjoy it with discount tickets. More than that, the open-air bath with a view at our facility was pleasant, and we enjoyed it both in the morning and at night. The open-air bath under the starry sky is nice. Dinner was a course of Japanese-style French cuisine, served slowly, and the stylish presentation was enjoyable. The Mont Blanc dessert, or rather, the chestnut and cassis mousse with Ishizuchi Mountain, was also exquisite. However, the breakfast, with various dishes served in small bowls, seemed to have been sitting for a while and was rather dry and not very tasty. It was disappointing because the dinner was delicious.

    Pleasantness

    During breakfast, a female staff member in her 70s who was in the kitchen was very pleasant and cheerful, which was soothing from the morning. Having such staff members enhances the image of the Ryokan. The guest rooms, corridors, and baths felt a bit aged and somewhat lonely. The breakfast was very good!
