    Beautiful starry skies

    A wide variety of activities for children. The pool was very enjoyable. In the lobby, the thoughtful touches such as drinks and snacks were much appreciated. Stargazing and looking up at the night sky made for wonderful summer memories. Thank you for your hospitality. It was a shame we couldn’t take the lift due to electrical work.

    Bringing my 7-year-old grandchild along.

    We stayed here when visiting the Dinosaur Museum and joining a fossil excavation experience. Our grandchild was completely absorbed in playing in the indoor pool and outdoors. There were so many different kinds of playground equipment that we couldn’t possibly try them all. The meals were buffet-style, with options that children would enjoy as well. The Room was clean and comfortable. There was a device for drying winter boots, which we used to dry shoes that had gotten wet from morning dew. There were also various types of Onsen, which we really enjoyed. Thank you very much.

    The Best Summer Vacation

    The Japanese-Western style room was spacious and perfect for relaxing as a family. The buffet menu changed slightly each night, and the local vegetables were especially delicious, making every meal both tasty and enjoyable. Lunch was an additional charge, but we appreciated it as well. The pool isn’t very large, but there were plenty of inflatable rings and kickboards, and locker keys and swim caps were lent to guests free of charge. It was open for long hours (7:00–21:00), which was great—we went to the pool whenever we had some free time as a family. Perhaps because swim caps are required, there wasn’t any hair floating around, and it felt very clean. There was also more than enough to do—Mölkky on the lawn, sledding, exploring the observation deck via the lift—and our child looked so happy. Table tennis was fun too! We enjoyed the Dinosaur Museum, Eiheiji Temple, and Tojinbo as well, but the Hotel itself was excellent. We’d love to visit again as a family. If I had one request: our child always sends postcards to grandparents while traveling, so it would be nice if the shop had more Fukui postcards available and if stamps could be purchased at the front desk.

    We were very satisfied and will definitely come again.

    We stayed in connecting rooms with three generations—our children, our grandchild, and us. On the day we arrived, we went to Dino Park; early the next morning, we visited the Dinosaur Museum; and in the afternoon, we had a great time playing at the Hotel. Our 8-year-old grandchild was thrilled and said, “This is the best Hotel I’ve ever stayed at!” It didn’t feel old at all—perhaps it has been renovated—and there were plenty of play areas for kids, so we could enjoy both indoors and outdoors. The food was delicious as well. My husband says he wants to come back in winter, and our children want to return again with all the cousins. The nature was beautiful, and it turned into a wonderful summer vacation for both adults and kids. Thank you.

    I will never stay here again.

    Honestly, it was terrible. The Room was not thoroughly cleaned; black mold behind the sink was visible in the mirror, and there was a large round yellow stain on the tatami that looked like urine. The buffet wasn’t tasty at all, and although we stayed for 2 nights and 3 days, the menu hardly changed. I was also shocked to see staff using the buffet as their meal, which made it clear that the Hotel itself recognizes this level of quality. We paid about 100,000 yen (about 86,000 yen out of pocket after paying with points). It did not feel worth what we paid. We took this trip as family time before childbirth, and I truly regret choosing to stay here. It was so bad that I emailed my feedback on the first night, but there was no response or action the next day or even the day after that—then at checkout they just said “Sorry.” To top it off, after we had already shopped at the souvenir store, they handed us a 500-yen coupon. I told them we had already made our purchases, but they couldn’t do anything. Far from merely disappointing, it left me deeply let down.

    Please be considerate of the breakfast start time.

    I will be participating in the Katsuyama Dinosaur Cross-Country Marathon. Since the race starts at 8:00 AM, I would like breakfast to be moved earlier to 6:00 or 6:30. As this is only once a year, I hope you can accommodate this request. If breakfast starts at 7:00 AM, I won’t make it in time. Some other participants in the same marathon had to run without breakfast.

    Family-friendly

    This Hotel is close to the Dinosaur Museum and offers events that children will enjoy, making it convenient for families. The views from the pool and lounge were great. The buffet-style dinner was disappointing: the menu quality was a bit low and items were not replenished, so it did not feel like a resort at all. I felt it would be hard to relax unless you are traveling with family. The Room felt dated. The staff provided pleasant service, and overall we were satisfied.

    Spending spring break with my grandchildren

    We stayed here with my daughter’s family while they were visiting home during spring break. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much snow, so we couldn’t ski, but there was a pool and the grandchildren loved it. Dinner featured local ingredients and offered both Japanese and Western dishes in a relaxed setting, while breakfast was a buffet. There was a wide variety of options, and everything was delicious. The bath water quality was excellent, and we really enjoyed it. Thanks to you, we were able to relax and make wonderful memories. Thank you very much.

    If you’re going for a JAM win, this is the place.

    I come to ski at Jam Katsu every year and stay here. It snowed on both days, and the snow quality was excellent. As always, the convenient access and great service were outstanding. The meals in particular have been upgraded, and the French toast at breakfast was amazing! I used the Onsen twice a day, morning and night. The in-room Facility is a bit old, which can’t be helped, but I hope it will be renovated someday.

    The front desk service is unacceptable.

    The staff may be new, but they should at least have basic manners, communication skills, and proper customer service. The response was unacceptable, and I will not return. Do not expect much from the front desk service. This Hotel does not seem to provide proper training for new employees. If you want to relax, consider staying at another Hotel. The food is also mediocre. The buffet options are disappointing with very limited choices available.

    The Facility shows s...

    The Facility shows signs of wear, such as frayed carpets in various areas, which is disappointing considering the "Tokyu Resort" branding. Additionally, although checkout is at 11:00 AM, while relaxing in bed after breakfast, there was a sudden loud noise accompanied by vibrations through the wall. Initially thinking it was caused by a neighboring guest accidentally hitting the wall with luggage, I soon realized it was much more intense. Upon stepping out to check next door, I found cleaning staff inside. Even if the previous guest had already checked out, this level of disturbance while the adjacent Room is still occupied seems unacceptable. It felt as though we were being rushed to leave early. More consideration would be appreciated. As for the food, it was a buffet and left an average impression—neither particularly good nor bad.

    I want to come again.

    We stayed here to visit the Dinosaur Museum with our family. In addition to its convenience for accessing the museum, the campfire event was enjoyable for the kids, making it a great choice for families with children. Improving the breakfast could make it even more enjoyable for adults.

    Repeat stay

    Visited Fukui again after May due to the reopening of Route 158. Explored Ichijodani Asakura Clan Ruins and Heisenji Hakusan Shrine, which we missed last time. The main highlight for the kids was staying at Ski Jam. Enjoyed Onsen three times. Planning another trip starting from Ski Jam as the base.

    The children were very happy staying in the Dinosaur Room for multiple nights. They enjoyed playing with dinosaur figures and arranging them, and the hotel is conveniently located near the Dinosaur Museum. I think this is a great hotel for families with small children. Since it was a multiple night stay, as mentioned in other reviews, the buffet menu didn’t change much. However, there was a play area in the restaurant for toddlers, which kept them entertained when they got bored of eating. The play areas and overall design of the hotel are well thought out for families. Despite being lively, you can enjoy your meals without worrying about others—something only possible at such a large hotel. The souvenirs from the Dinosaur Room exceeded our expectations! Considering recent extreme heat waves, I felt that visiting during cooler seasons might be better when watching kids run around on the slopes outside. We wanted to try grass sledding but had to give up because it was too hot during the day. All in all, we had a wonderful time! Thank you very much!

    Refreshing Holiday in the Highlands

    The cool air of the highlands, completely free from the early summer heat, was amazing. Soaking in the natural Onsen, enjoying a delicious breakfast, and relaxing in the Room was the ultimate luxury. I would love to visit again during ski season!

    It's nice, but...

    I have loved this Hotel for years, both for its location and as a Facility, and have used it many times. However, this year, for the first time, I felt disappointed. It has shifted to focus more on being a kid-friendly Hotel. I was considering becoming a member but decided against it.

    Visit

    Visited after 3 seasons. On a weekday in March, the Hotel and ski resort were pleasantly uncrowded. However, the snow was typical for spring skiing... Next season, considering my aging body, I plan to visit in February. Stayed for 2 nights and had a satisfying Hotel experience.

    Senior Skiers

    I stayed here again because I had a great experience two years ago. This time, I enjoyed the dinner buffet with crab and even indulged in desserts. The Onsen was spacious, featuring an open-air bath, jacuzzi, and sauna for a relaxing experience. For skiing, the Hotel's ski-in/ski-out access to the slopes is very convenient for senior skiers. The Room was a Japanese-style room this time, but I think the sofa from my previous stay was more comfortable for watching TV. I look forward to visiting again next season.

    Best for skiing

    Convenient for skiing purposes. Meals are only available as a buffet, and there is no convenience store nearby, so finding food was quite challenging. Staying at the Hotel only offers a discount on a one-day lift ticket. It might be slightly overpriced for use on the day before a holiday.

    I want to stay again!

    My heart danced at the sight of the ski resort scenery for the first time in decades! I was satisfied with all the meals and the bath. Unfortunately, due to the sudden Reservation, we could only get one Room this time! Next time, I would like to stay with three generations of my family when there is snow.

    For a summer vacation with children

    We stayed for two nights in the Dinosaur Lab Room with our 3-year-old who loves dinosaurs. There were dinosaur figures and lab coats available, and he enjoyed playing dinosaur doctor. The breakfast and dinner buffets didn't have much that appealed to us, and it seemed like cost-cutting was a priority, but there were various dinosaur toys in the dining area that delighted the children. He was also happy to make his own shaved ice. On the second night, we switched to a course meal for an additional fee, which was very delicious. For the child, we ordered a dinosaur-themed set called Jurassic Dining Adventure, and he happily devoured it. The bath was a smooth hot spring and was nice. On the ski resort side, there were inflatable play equipment indoors, and outside there was a rambunctious dinosaur land and grass sledding, so there was no shortage of things to play with. It was also close to the dinosaur museum, making it a great choice for a summer vacation with children.
