I thought this was a baby-friendly Accommodation and expected to stay with peace of mind, but I was very disappointed to find that the baby bed in the private open-air bath was covered in dust and mold. Because it is something a baby uses, I wanted much more attention paid to hygiene.

The meals are very tasty and served in satisfying portions!

Stay: August (Obon peak season) Price: Dinner and breakfast included, around ¥40,000 per adult 1) Hospitality & Service With only a small number of Rooms, service is very quick and responsive. The front desk was polite with almost no waiting time, and the guidance from check-in to the Room was fast. The staff member who escorted us (a male staff member wearing noticeable light-blue earrings) was neatly presented. I later heard that they forgot to hand out service vouchers for guests at the front desk, which concerned me. Compared with long-established Ryokan it falls short, but if you think of it as somewhere between a modern Hotel and a Ryokan, it is quite good. 2) Facility / Room / Amenities It was disappointing to see many stains and peeling on the walls and tatami. The TV was a small Hisense model with no satellite channels. The refrigerator and cup shelf felt like older models (a white refrigerator type where frost builds up on the top shelf). Tableware and amenities were clean. Toothbrushes, razors, a hair dryer, and hair ties were provided. The yukata were comfortable to wear. Towels had no Accommodation logo (one face towel and two bath towels). The ocean-view Room had an excellent view with no trees blocking it. What bothered me was finding a noticeable clump of dust and hair inside the dresser drawers. The air conditioner is ceiling-mounted; temperature can be adjusted via a wall remote, but there was dust on the vents/fins. The toilet had a strong odor even with the exhaust fan on; even with the door closed, the hallway smelled as well. Perhaps because of this, there was a commercially available Sharp air purifier in the Room. Both the entrance door to the guest room area and the toilet door felt quite loose/wobbly; even a woman pulling slightly hard might make them come off despite being locked. A safe is provided. The futon is down-filled and the sheets were clean. 3) Onsen No towels are provided in the changing area. Razors, hair dryers, lotion, and emulsion are available. The water temperature is mild so it’s easy to soak for longer without overheating. Although small, the open-air bath offers superb views of both the sea and coastal townscape; if you’re lucky you may see fireworks or Mt Fuji in view as well.* 4) Meals The spiny lobster was on the smaller side.* The butter-grilled abalone portion was quite large and satisfying.* Matsusaka beef sukiyaki tasted great even without egg; it wasn’t overly fatty—just pleasantly meaty with some sweetness.* For sashimi,* uni wasn’t available due to procurement issues,* but flounder,* sea bream,* tuna,* shrimp,* etc.,* were served arranged beautifully in*桶-style presentation—very photogenic—and extremely fresh*and delicious.*

    The view is amazing.

As soon as we entered, the ocean spread out before us—it was so beautiful and truly moving. The Room also had an ocean view, and we were able to relax and enjoy a peaceful stay. The food was delicious, and the staff were very kind and attentive. Thank you very much.

    hi?

    1st Anniversary

Thank you for taking care of us on June 24 and 25. The meals were delicious and we were very satisfied. We especially enjoyed the private bath at the Onsen and were extremely pleased. If possible, we would like a vending machine in the lobby, and it would be nice if the shop had a wider selection of items. We would like to stay again.

    This is my second stay.

When we visited two years ago, my grandfather said it was the best view of his life, so we stayed again to celebrate his 90th birthday. As last time, three people stayed: my grandparents and my uncle. We made a Reservation on the booking site for an ocean-view room on the 3rd–4th floors, but this time it seemed to be on the 2nd floor. Because it was lower, my grandfather was disappointed that the view wasn’t as good as before. We chose a plan with dinner this time, and the meal was plentiful and very delicious—both my grandfather and uncle were happy with it.

    Excellent value for money!

I had been a little worried after reading someone else’s Review saying the Facility felt dated, but it didn’t really bother me. It’s true there were no power outlets by the bedside for charging a phone, and it did feel like a property built in a different era, but the selling point—the stunning ocean view—was exactly as promised. We chose in-Room dining with the smaller-portion option, and we were very satisfied with the amount, variety, and timing of each course. The staff were also very pleasant and made us want to stay again. (For those who say the Facility is lacking—don’t you think that if both the facilities and the food were top-notch, you simply couldn’t stay here at this price?)

The Room was very spacious and spotless, and I was able to truly relax and rest. Dinner featured fresh seafood, which I thoroughly enjoyed and was very satisfied with. Soaking in the open-air bath while gazing at the ocean view was pure bliss. The staff were warm and welcoming, making this a wonderful Accommodation I would love to visit again.

    Family Trip

I stayed in Toba for the first time in decades to celebrate the arrival of my grandchild. Although I had some concerns as I made the reservation solely based on information from IKYU.com, I chose this accommodation because I wanted a spacious, flat room and in-room dining for my grandchild's convenience. The location was inconvenient, taking over 30 minutes from the station, but it turned out to be a surprisingly beautiful ryokan. The room was, of course, clean, and the food was delicious—overall, we were very satisfied. Unlike chain hotels that can feel impersonal, all the staff were kind and attentive. It’s an accommodation I would love to revisit if given another opportunity.

    Highly satisfied!

I used the hometown tax system to stay at this accommodation! We searched for an accommodation with in-room dining for both dinner and breakfast, as well as a private bath since we have a small child. The result was absolutely perfect! The food was incredibly delicious! The portions were just right, leaving us perfectly full. The seafood from Toba was truly impressive and left us amazed throughout the meal. My husband doesn't like oysters, so I ate two plates, but the oyster broth had such a rich yet gentle flavor—it was simply outstanding! All the staff members who assisted us were wonderful. During breakfast, one of them discreetly handed over dessert while asking if it would be better not to show it to our child—such thoughtful consideration is rare and deeply appreciated. My husband and I talked about how these subtle gestures are hard to come by. Due to my sensitive throat, sleeping with the heater on caused some dryness in my throat by morning. For those planning a visit, bringing a humidifying mask might be helpful! For this price and quality, it's an excellent value for money. While the facility itself has a traditional feel of an old-fashioned accommodation, everything was thoroughly cleaned. Personally, I love this kind of atmosphere and hope they continue maintaining it as is! I'll definitely visit again!

    Thank you for your patronage.

We stayed as a group of six men at the end of the year. The view was amazing, and the food was excellent. The Onsen was very relaxing and warming. We could even see Mount Fuji the next morning. If I may suggest, it would be great to have wine or sparkling wine in the lounge and to make the private bath available in the morning as well.

    It was a relaxing experience.

The view from the room, the cuisine, and the staff's thoughtfulness made for a stay that exceeded expectations, becoming one of the accommodations I would like to revisit.

    The meals are delicious.

I booked this accommodation because it was advertised as having all ocean-view rooms and being proud of its cuisine. However, the ryokan was older than expected, with noticeable issues such as room railings and outdoor bath pipes. The toilet in the room and the public bath had cold seats, which was quite uncomfortable for a December stay. Additionally, dinner was divided into three time slots. While waiting in my room until my designated time, someone suddenly banged on the door about 10 minutes before and told me to go to the dining area. A phone call or some consideration would have been appreciated. During dinner, only an English drink menu was provided despite being clearly Japanese, which felt strange. For breakfast, however, I received a phone call notification. It seemed more like an individual issue rather than a policy of the accommodation but left me feeling disappointed. That said, both dinner and breakfast were extremely delicious.

    More satisfying than last time

I have stayed here before, and the quantity and quality of the meals were excellent. The staff's hospitality was very polite and impressive. If I had to mention one downside, it would be that karaoke was not available, likely due to noise concerns unless reserved privately. However, overall, including the onsen facilities, I was extremely satisfied. If given the chance, I would love to stay again. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

The facility shows signs of aging (such as water sounds from neighboring rooms) and is managed by a small team, but overall it offers great value for money. The young staff at the accommodation showed a willingness to meet requests, making the stay highly satisfactory. Thoughtful gestures for our anniversary surprised our group members. Considering current market rates and with coupon use, this accommodation is highly recommended.

The hostess's service was far from what you would expect at a Ryokan. The walls were thin, and voices echoed. It was a very disappointing experience.

    Please read before you reserve!

This was my first stay at Shinpachiya, and I had high expectations based on the clean room photos and appealing food images when making the reservation. However, it turned out to be a very disappointing ryokan. As someone who loves traveling and frequently stays at ryokans, this was by far the worst experience. I now understand why there are so many low reviews from others. Below are the points I found unpleasant for your reference when considering a reservation: - When filling out the guest register, they did not allow me to sit down even though I had many bags. - During guidance to the room, no one offered to help with luggage. - The facility feels outdated in many areas. - The garden-view room had an extremely unkempt garden. - The outdoor bath in the large public bath area had decayed wood. - The outdoor bath's water temperature was too low. - The most disappointing aspect was the food: amateurish presentation, clearly pre-made dishes, insufficient portions (even for an adult woman), significantly different from what was promised during reservation; sashimi served on a large plate without individual plates; no fried dishes despite being kaiseki cuisine; grilled items included both prawns and lobster back-to-back—too much seafood repetition. - Meal times were inflexible (dinner at 6:00 or 6:30 PM; breakfast at 7:30 or 8:00 AM). They also mentioned they might come into your room up to 30 minutes early for preparation—no consideration for relaxing in a ryokan setting. - Both dinner and breakfast were of such poor quality that they reminded me of meals served during school trips. Neither tasted good nor looked appetizing due to poor presentation skills. - Overall lack of hospitality from staff members—they seemed indifferent with no sense of care or energy. It felt like they were just "doing their job." - At checkout, all I received was a single "thank you" in front of reception—not necessarily bad but lacking warmth or hospitality. These are my complaints about this accommodation. Simply put—do not stay here. The food especially left me speechless—it failed completely in appearance and taste. Although I used discounts and points to book this stay cheaply, its original price is over ¥50,000 per night. If I'd paid full price for such quality service/food standards—I would have filed a direct complaint. There are plenty of excellent hotels around Ise-Shima—you don't need to choose this one. Please make wise choices for an enjoyable trip!

Limited meals provided, no beverages available.

The meal portions are small, and it seems men might feel hungry. I went with my son to celebrate a 60th birthday, but he mentioned going to the convenience store because he was hungry. However, since the store was far away, he gave up and went to sleep. I wanted coffee in the morning, but only tea was available. Usually, tea and snacks are provided in the Room, but there were no snacks this time. The staff at the front desk and elsewhere were all very pleasant. The private open-air bath in our Room was excellent! I enjoyed a morning bath while gazing at the ocean.

I stayed here during my visit to Ise Shrine!

I chose this Ryokan because I was looking for one with an Onsen by the sea, and it had good reviews and a nice atmosphere. The food was delicious, especially the fresh seafood, and the miso soup made with shrimp broth was truly amazing! What disappointed me was the plain Japanese-style room and that I could see some behind-the-scenes areas (cleaning methods, doors left open, etc.). The scenery and staff were wonderful. With just a bit more effort put into improving the overall Ryokan experience, I think satisfaction would increase even more. Wishing you all the best!

Although it was during the Obon period, the value for money was disappointing.

The lobby and view were nice. However, everything else felt lacking and disappointing. Even in the good lobby, some lights were about to fall out, walls were peeling, the Room smelled musty, meals seemed amateurish, and futons were already laid out sloppily... Even during Obon season, charging over 30,000 yen for this seems unreasonable. It made me realize that even IKYU.com cannot always be trusted.

    Solo Travel: Relax and Unwind

I stayed at Shinpachiya for a solo trip to relax. This hotel offers an exceptional view, with the lobby providing a full view of Ise Bay and Irago Cape, giving a refreshing feeling. Dinner was served in the room and included dishes like Hassun, sashimi, sukiyaki, and grilled Spanish mackerel with salt—all delicious. Since I was alone, I finished the meal quickly. With my reservation through IKYU.com, I received a special perk of a private open-air bath. The large tub allowed me to stretch my legs fully and relax at ease. After bathing, complimentary ice cream was available next to the front desk for unlimited enjoyment—a perfect way to cool down!

    A breathtaking 180-degree panoramic view!

Thank you very much for your hospitality. A truly breathtaking 180-degree view! The sea, mountains, islands, sky, and the lighthouse light at night—such a stunning view that will remain in our memories. Thanks to this accommodation, we were able to enjoy both the sunrise and sunset. The meals were absolutely delicious. On the second night, the menu was changed for us, and we were deeply touched by the chef's thoughtfulness. For those of us who love enjoying delicious food while relaxing with beautiful scenery, this was the perfect accommodation.

    Dreamy Ise-Shima

I chose this destination for my trip because I wanted to visit Ise-Shima. Although it rained during my stay, which would have been even more enjoyable with good weather, the experience was still wonderful. Despite arriving just in time for dinner, the staff warmly welcomed me, and I truly appreciate their kindness. Other staff members were also very attentive, allowing me to have a pleasant and memorable time.

    It was absolutely amazing.

We visited as a couple. The ocean view from the lobby and Room was amazing! The weather was great, and the starry sky was truly breathtaking. For dinner, we enjoyed fresh seafood that perfectly captured the essence of Toba, with every dish seasoned to my taste—absolutely satisfying. In the morning, the miso soup? The broth was so rich and filling! This is a Ryokan I would love to visit again!

    I was healed!!

I stayed at the Property for an Ise pilgrimage. I found this place while searching for a Room with in-room dining. The view from the Room was a vast expanse of the sea. I made a Reservation for a private family bath, which was an open-air bath that seemed to fit more than four adults. The water temperature was lukewarm, around 40 degrees Celsius. It seemed there were few guests that day, so the large public bath was almost like a private bath. The meals were very delicious. Especially the hot miso soup and fresh seaweed for breakfast were incredibly tasty. My only regret is that the head chef's name sounded so cool that I really wanted to meet him, haha. There was a male staff member, possibly a trainee, who brought what I requested with a smile and without any hesitation, which left a great impression! The attendants and the front desk staff were also very accommodating. I apologize for going in and out of the entrance multiple times to smoke. The starry sky at night was stunning, and in the morning, the sound of kites? was very soothing. I would love to visit again when it gets warmer!
