    Summer Trip for Couples

    This was my first stay. The view from the Room was wonderful, right by Lake Hamana. Since it was summer, we brought handheld fireworks, and they kindly lent us a bucket and candles so we could enjoy them by the lakeside. They also provide a designated trash disposal area, so I highly recommend it. We chose the Plan with dinner and breakfast included and enjoyed buffet-style meals with a wide variety of options, including gyoza and eel—both my spouse and I were very satisfied. On the second day, an unexpected issue came up and we returned to the Hotel late at night; the staff assisted us. Thank you very much. We would love to stay again.

    The view of Lake Hamana was amazing.

    The view from the Room was wonderful, and the massage chair was a nice touch. With two air conditioners, we stayed comfortable throughout our stay. The bath was pleasantly warm, so we could relax and take our time, and the eel at dinner was delicious. On the other hand, both breakfast and dinner had limited variety, and there wasn’t much that felt appealing to eat, which was disappointing. Also, the toilet was very small and difficult to use. However, considering the Accommodation Fee, it offered good value for money, and if I have the chance, I would like to stay in the same Room again.

    Exceptional value for money

    I made a Reservation for my mother, who loves buffets. Based on the Reviews, I wasn’t expecting much from the Facility, but everything was great: cleanliness was good, service was good—more than that, their consideration was outstanding. After I mentioned that my mother has difficulty walking, the staff at the dining reception spoke to us and looked after us, which made our stay very comfortable. Thank you so much. Top-tier buffet-focused Hotels tend to be attentive like this, but some aren’t, so I really appreciated it. The little extras—like ice cream after the bath and morning lassi—also felt like a big plus. The bath had a slight chlorine smell, but it was clean; there was a shampoo bar and plenty of basic skincare amenities as well. If you’re looking to cut costs, I’d rather have shower caps than disposable hairbrushes—and if you clearly state in advance that brushes aren’t provided, that would be fine too. The food wasn’t particularly novel, but everything was delicious and satisfying. What especially stood out—as many others have said—was the grilled eel kabayaki!! I was amazed by the quality. At this price point it’s unbelievable: large eel with great texture and rich flavor. We’ll definitely come again!

    All-you-can-eat eel

    Based on positive Reviews about the all-you-can-eat eel, I made a Reservation. I expected something comparable to specialty eel restaurants in Hamamatsu City, but it was completely different. However, considering the room rate, I feel it was reasonable. For reference, I have shared my honest impressions.

    The staff service was excellent, and the spacious Room was wonderful.

    This was my first time staying here. The staff’s hospitality was excellent, and the Room was spotless and very comfortable. The Room was also spacious, so I really appreciated being able to leave my suitcase open. The buffet meals were all delicious, but if I had to ask for one thing, I would have liked a wider selection of meat dishes (such as steak or roast beef). One minor concern was that there is only one elevator in the building, which made getting around a bit inconvenient at times. Also, we were told to come for breakfast within the designated hours, but when we went it was full and we had to return to our Room and come back later, which was inconvenient. It would be smoother if breakfast required a Reservation with an assigned time slot. Despite some inconvenience with breakfast crowd management and the elevator, the staff and the Room were truly wonderful, so I would definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.

    This was my first time staying here.

    The grilled eel was thick, tender, and absolutely delicious. The bath was also very clean. I’d love to visit again if I have the chance.

    I would like to stay here again.

    I stayed on a Plan for a Room on the 5th floor or higher; my Room was on the 7th floor. It was great to have a panoramic view of Lake Hamana from the Room. The Room was a combined Japanese-style and Western-style space like in the photos, and it was extremely spacious and comfortable. There were two double-size beds placed side by side, so I don’t think even someone who moves around a lot in their sleep would fall off. The Room wasn’t brand-new, but it was clean and well maintained, with thorough housekeeping, which I appreciated. As other Reviews mention, the toilet is part of a unit bath so it feels a bit cramped, but the toilet itself was clean, had a washlet function, and flushed strongly. The air conditioner was designed so the airflow didn’t hit you directly, so I slept well even with it on. The bath area is slightly small, but it has been nicely renovated. The open-air bath had a great view over Lake Hamana and felt wonderful. I could also see the sunrise from the bath. I think there’s a wide variety of buffet menu items. There wasn’t much sashimi, but the highlight was definitely the eel—lightly charred skin with plump flesh, very tasty. Even though it’s all-you-can-eat, for me about 10 pieces (around 1.5 eels) was my limit. I recommend eating it with grated daikon for a lighter taste. There were thoughtful touches throughout—like a bag to take to the bath area, Wi-Fi, playing cards and wooden blocks in the Room, ice pops before entering the baths, and welcome drinks—so it felt like many guest needs were being met in different ways. Considering the Hotel price per night, I was very satisfied overall. I’d definitely like to stay here again when visiting around Lake Hamana.

    Winter road trip

    Located right by the Mikkabi Interchange on the shores of Lake Hamana, it was wonderful to enjoy a stunning view from the Room. Meals were buffet-style with a wide variety of options. The sukiyaki hot pot was delicious.

    Goodbye, Sun. Hello, Sun.

    When I arrived at the Hotel, the sun was just setting over Lake Hamana. In the morning, while soaking in the open-air bath, I saw the sunrise emerging from the center of Lake Hamana. The dinner buffet featured an array of eel dishes such as eel omelet, unagi rice bowl, and unagi chazuke... It was a perfect menu for an eel lover like me.

    The service and buff...

    The service and buffet-style meals were very satisfying. The grilled eel for dinner was especially tender and delicious. The Facility seems a bit dated, and the toilet and bath in the Room were small. My husband, who has a larger build, found his knees hitting the door when sitting on the toilet. In the large public bath, windows were left open for ventilation, making it uncomfortably cold while washing up. The shower temperature was also low and remained lukewarm even when set to high heat. This place might be recommended for those who want to experience a retro vibe from the Showa or Heisei era.

    Best value for money

    Given the price, I had no expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised. The Room is spacious, though the bathroom is small. The restaurant staff provides proper guidance, so there's no need to wander around looking for a seat. The buffet offers a wide variety of dishes, including all-you-can-eat eel. The staff ensures everything is well-stocked, which made it a truly pleasant experience. The "fill-your-own-bag with mandarins" activity was also fun!

    The all-you-can-eat ...

    The all-you-can-eat grilled eel for dinner was tender, easy to eat, and excellent. I ate a lot. The pancakes at breakfast were delicious, and the freshly baked croissants were soft with a crispy texture. The size was just right, making them irresistible to have more than one.

    The location is great, but...

    It is disappointing that IKYU.com introduces this Hotel. There is a gap between the images and the actual Hotel. While the view from the Room was indeed good, that was all. There was only one narrow elevator, and although the Room was old, it lacked cleanliness. The dining area also had dirty walls and chairs, which were terrible.

    The breakfast buffet is excellent.

    The bathroom sealant had mold, which was unpleasant. We greatly appreciated your prompt response to our sudden request. The buffet was excellent, especially the eel. It would be great to have more seafood options. The bath had a fantastic location. Above all, the breakfast buffet was incredibly diverse and truly satisfying in the morning. With cereals, bread, rice, miso soup, sashimi, fruits, side dishes, and more—it brought us happiness. Thank you for your hospitality!

    The view from the top floor is excellent.

    The corner Room on the 7th floor offered an exceptional view of Lake Hamana, just as shown in the photos. I was also able to enjoy the sunrise. For dinner, freshly grilled eel kabayaki was continuously replenished, allowing me to enjoy it hot, which was fantastic. The location being close to the highway exit was also convenient. I would love to visit again.

    The view of Lake Hamana is breathtaking.

    The Hotel overlooks Lake Hamana, offering an amazing view. The Room was thoroughly cleaned, allowing us to stay comfortably. The Hotel was crowded with many local repeat guests. Since the eel had a great reputation, we decided to try it right away. It was plump and delicious, especially as hitsumabushi (chopped eel on rice). Even though our family usually eats only domestic eel, there was no discomfort at all—it was truly delicious. My husband and I were amazed that we could enjoy all-you-can-eat eel at this price. It was also our first time trying hitsumabushi, and it tasted wonderful. We are so glad we stayed here and definitely want to come back again!

    Long time no see!

    I used the Hotel again after a long time. Since I often use the facility and was traveling with my elderly mother, I requested a room near the elevator. However, we were initially guided to a distant room, likely because no closer rooms were available. When the TV in our room didn’t work and I asked staff about it, they mentioned that there was actually a room available near the elevator and kindly allowed us to change rooms. It would have been appreciated if this had been arranged from the start. There are few suitable Hotels around Lake Hamana, but this one is ideal as it offers Onsen, has beds in its Rooms, and its restaurant is conveniently located near an elevator. This time, there was even an ice cream service after using the Onsen. Although inflation seems to have slightly affected menu options compared to before, unagi (eel) was still available. Seasonal dishes like fig salad were also offered. Despite challenges, they are doing their best, which made me very happy!

    Both breakfast and dinner were buffet-style with a wide variety of dishes, all of which were very delicious. As for the Room, the air conditioner felt small for the size of the room. It would have been better if it cooled more during extremely hot weather. The toilet (system bath) is narrow. When sitting on the toilet, your knees may touch the door. The outdoor bath was clean and offered a stunning view of Lake Hamana right in front. I enjoyed it twice at night and once in the morning with my son.

    Regrettable Dinner

    I was attracted by the all-you-can-eat eel plan and decided to stay, but the grilled eels were piled up in a way that diminished my appetite. Dinner is the main event of the accommodation. I believe it would make a difference if served with consideration for those eating. It's disappointing.

    The bath is excellent!

    All rooms offer a view of Lake Hamana, which is wonderful. While the building shows its age, the bath facilities seem new and were excellent. The open-air bath, in particular, provides a stunning view that makes you want to relax and take your time. The meals are varied and delicious. The room was clean and came with a kitchen, which was very convenient. However, perhaps due to staff shortages, we had to carry all our luggage ourselves upon arrival and departure, which was a bit challenging as we had many bags. I would love to visit again if I have the chance.

    The dinner was absolutely exceptional! It was my first time experiencing such a full-course "eel feast." The eel, carefully grilled on the spot, was aromatic with thick, tender meat that brought satisfaction with every bite. Truly a unique culinary experience only this accommodation can offer. The large public bath was well-maintained and clean, offering a soothing view of Lake Hamana. The staff were courteous and ensured a comfortable stay throughout my visit.     Eel and Onsen

    I searched for a property with eel and onsen as the main attractions, and stayed this time. The eel dishes were satisfying and delicious. Other dishes were also tasty, leaving us full. The morning fried bread was as good as rumored, bringing a sense of nostalgia. The sunset, sunrise, and lake view from the room and bath were superb and memorable, creating the best memories with my girlfriend.

    Disappointing

    I stayed to spend New Year's with my family, but it was an extremely disappointing hotel. First, upon entering the room, I was surprised to find food left on the table, presumably by the previous guest. Additionally, when I entered the large public bath, there was a disinfectant smell like a pool, ruining the relaxing atmosphere. As for the meals, which I was most looking forward to, there were some dishes that tasted good, but there were quite a few that felt like they were made formally, and I felt the low quality. Especially the New Year's breakfast dishes were all terrible, and I suspiciously wondered if they were made by a chef who hadn't learned Japanese cuisine. It was the most disappointing trip I've ever had.

    I used it for the first time in a while. The view and meals were good. When I tried to use the Room's refrigerator, it was not powered on. It's a small thing, but I would like the Hotel to check it.

    Cost-effective Hotel

    The hotel was cozier than I expected. I was able to relax and spend time leisurely thanks to the quiet environment by Lake Hamana and the view from the room. The meals were buffet-style, but everything, including the all-you-can-eat grilled eel, was delicious. The entrance to the bath area felt a bit cheap, but I was soothed by the view of Lake Hamana from the open-air bath. Especially, the night view of Lake Hamana seen from outside next to the smoking area on the first floor was fantastic, combined with the pine trees illuminated by spotlights beyond (photo). Overall, it was a hotel with good cost performance.

    Lake Hamana is right in front of you!

    The corner room was quite spacious, allowing the children to play, which was great. The late check-out as a corner room perk was also nice for a relaxing stay! The room's toilet felt a bit cramped. Dinner was great as we could eat a lot of eel! The Onsen was clean, and having Lake Hamana right in front was soothing.
