    Enjoy both the Gold Bath and the Silver Bath, with outstanding hospitality.

    I traveled solo as a woman and enjoyed both the Gold Bath and the Silver Bath. The hospitality was outstanding. Everyone greeted me warmly, and the younger staff and international staff were kind and welcoming with friendly smiles. Dinner was delicious—the seafood, mountain specialties, and sake were all excellent. I’d be happy if you could sell the pre-meal vinegar in the shop as well; I really liked it. Since I usually skip breakfast, I appreciated having a dinner-only Plan. I may visit again on another solo trip, and I also recommend it for family travel.

    This was my first stay here. It is a traditional Onsen Ryokan with some age, but it was clean and very comfortable. Everyone—the front desk staff, the dining staff, and the bath area staff—was extremely courteous and made me feel welcome. If a staff member was near the elevator hall, they would always press the button and wait with you; even if they were a little farther away, they would come back just to press it. It’s a small gesture, but it truly made me happy. The only disappointment was that the amount of alcohol I ordered with dinner was clearly less than the listed serving size, and even the shochu with water tasted almost like plain water. That was a significant negative point for me. Even if I stay at this Ryokan again, I don’t think I would order drinks next time. That said, all other service was perfect. If I visit Arima again, I would like to stay here again. The location was also excellent.

    Relax in Arima Onsen

    Back at Arima Gyoen after a long time! I requested a Room along the Arima River, and they kindly accommodated me, so I was able to relax while enjoying the view. All the staff were very pleasant—whether I met them in the hallway, by the elevator, or at the large public bath, they greeted me and even saw me off at the elevator. It was a truly comfortable stay. Thank you very much.

    Golden Week

    The meals were delicious and incredibly luxurious! The private open-air bath in the Room was amazing! I want to stay here again! It was such a comfortable space that I wanted to stay forever!

    A large public bath is available.

    The building is old, but the guest Rooms were spacious, and both the toilet and the in-Room bathroom had been renovated and were very clean. The large public bath offered both Kinsen (gold spring) and Ginsen (silver spring), and the Ginsen bath was an open-air bath. Meals were served in a banquet hall, which was spacious and comfortable. The road to the parking lot is narrow, so larger vehicles are better parked in the second parking lot. I parked a Lexus RX in the first parking lot; there was plenty of space between cars, but because of its length, it was a little difficult to exit.

    Famous Arima Onsen

    This Accommodation was a great find in Arima Onsen, offering free-flowing hot spring water at a relatively reasonable price. It was a cold day with some snow flurries even in March, so it was tough to kill time until the 5:00 PM check-in, but the front desk staff welcomed us warmly. As you’d expect from a popular Onsen, the property was crowded, but we could check the bath crowd levels on our phones, so it wasn’t an issue. We were satisfied to be able to soak in the Kinsen (gold) bath. We didn’t use the open-air Ginsen (silver) bath much since it didn’t seem to be free-flowing, but we were glad we could experience both.

    We stayed on Friday ...

    We stayed on Friday after work. Since the Accommodation is next to a mountain, there wasn’t much of a view, but we were both satisfied with the Room where the morning sun came in without being too bright. Thank you as well for your kind help when we left something behind. We were slightly concerned about an odor from the bathroom drain, but otherwise we were satisfied.

    Stay at Arima Gyoen

    This was my first solo trip to Arima Onsen. I booked a Plan without meals, but next time I’d like to stay with meals included. I was very satisfied.

    First Stay at Arima Onsen Accommodation

    At Arima Gyoen, you can enjoy both Kinsen and Ginsen Onsen, which were excellent. Meals are served in the room, and the staff carefully arranged everything, which was very nice. However, it was a bit disappointing that both dinner and breakfast were quite lightly seasoned; with less saltiness, it didn’t pair well with alcohol. I usually drink more than this.

    Aiming to Conquer Japan's Top Three Onsen Destinations

    Finally arrived in Arima, following Kusatsu and Gero. This time, after making a reservation for Arima, I had to cancel due to urgent matters but managed to rebook and stay. Excited about staying in Arima, I hastily made the reservation without checking carefully and ended up booking a fully Japanese-style room. A bed might have been more comfortable for someone older like me. The accommodation is conveniently located just a 2-minute walk from Arima Onsen Station, and the onsen was excellent. The open-air bath in the room only had silver hot spring water; it would have been perfect if there was golden hot spring water as well... When shown to the room, there was no explanation about the open-air bath in the room, which made me wonder if there was an error with my reservation. I expected meals to be served in a separate dining area but found out they were served in-room instead, which felt a bit rushed. The attendant was from China but very knowledgeable and efficient. The onsen experience (the white towel turned brown instantly when dipped into golden hot spring water) was amazing! I definitely want to visit again. Next time, I'll make sure to check both the room type and meal arrangements before completing my reservation!

    Meals

    Both dinner and breakfast were served in a traditional tatami room. Instead of a modern buffet, we enjoyed delicious meals in a calm and relaxing atmosphere. The staff were friendly, making our stay very comfortable. Thank you very much!

    The Onsen was excellent.

    Both the Kin-sen and Gin-sen baths were wonderful, leaving my skin smooth even after stepping out. The staff were kind, and the view from the Room in the annex was pleasant, making it a comfortable stay. The meals were delicious, but the tea was disappointing. It was weak, lacked aroma and flavor, and seemed to be from a teabag. As I don't drink alcohol, even hojicha or a better-quality teabag would have been appreciated. In the morning, the only drinks available were miso soup and tea, but the tea was unappealing, which was unfortunate given how good everything else was. Additionally, perhaps due to the timing, there was quite a bit of hair left in the bath, which was concerning. Overall, it was a pleasant and enjoyable stay. Thank you very much.

    First-time Use

    The bath was small but the silver hot spring was excellent. The meals were as expected. The Kobe beef shabu-shabu was very delicious.

    Satisfied with the Onsen and meals.

    The facility and equipment feel a bit old, but the large Onsen with both golden and silver springs was excellent. Meals were served in the room for both dinner and breakfast, allowing for a relaxing experience.

    I had a relaxing stay.

    I stayed here for a solo trip, and it was my first time visiting Arima Onsen. The room was a Western-style room in the annex, and the view of Arima Onsen from the 10th floor was truly memorable. The room temperature was just right, making my stay very comfortable. The accommodation's large public bath features both "Golden Onsen" and "Silver Onsen," and I had the chance to enjoy both. Especially, the "Silver Onsen" is an open-air bath with perfectly warm water where I could relax deeply. The changing area was also kept clean, allowing me to feel refreshed throughout my visit. For dinner, I enjoyed a delicious shabu-shabu with plenty of Kobe beef. The staff member who served me was originally from Taiwan and made my solo dining experience enjoyable by engaging in friendly conversation. Although this trip was on my own, I hope to visit again next time with my husband! Thank you for providing such a wonderful experience!

    Looking forward to enjoying Shabu-Shabu

    A traditional Ryokan with a historic exterior, but the interior and renovated rooms are well-maintained, providing a comfortable stay. The staff's hospitality was impeccable. The shabu-shabu we were looking forward to was delicious, and the other kaiseki dishes were also excellent. Both the Kin-sen and Gin-sen Onsen offered a relaxing experience to relieve daily fatigue.
