    It was a wonderful trip.

    Our family of four stayed in a room with a private open-air bath, and it was amazing—even putting it mildly. The meals, baths, and views were all excellent. The food was generous and delicious, and at night we enjoyed a sky full of stars. The bath left our skin silky smooth—especially the morning bath, which I highly recommend. This was our first stay, but it’s an Accommodation we definitely want to visit again. Thank you very much.

    Wonderful view

    I stayed here with my parent in a wheelchair and our Chihuahua. To be honest, the Facility and Room feel a bit old, but the view from the Room was amazing, and the open-air Onsen bath was incredibly relaxing. The meals were generous in portion, and every dish was delicious—we were very satisfied. Our dog also ate well, so I think the pet meal must have been tasty too. Above all, we truly appreciated how kind and cheerful the staff were. I’d love to visit again during strawberry season.\nIt would be perfect if we could also see fireflies while using a wheelchair...\nAs an aside, I was moved by the star-filled night sky, and Hashigui-iwa (about 40 minutes from the Hotel) is definitely worth visiting.

    A Long-Awaited Stay

    At check-in, you kindly upgraded our Room, and to celebrate my mother’s 90th birthday you gave us a gift, took photos of her wearing a red celebratory vest (with a framed print), and offered warm congratulatory messages from the staff. She said she felt shy, but she was truly moved and looked so happy. The meals were also very delicious. The staff were kind and even helped care for my mother during breakfast—thank you very much. As the property is on a hill, the view is wonderful. We headed home completely satisfied.

    Susami Holiday

    After passing Tanabe and Shirahama, traffic thins out noticeably, and only a handful of cars exit at the Hiki River interchange. It’s about a 5-minute drive from the interchange—up a hill—and you arrive at the Hotel. The building has an early-Heisei Resort Hotel vibe; it’s old, but somehow nostalgic. The Onsen has a faint sulfur scent, and the alkaline water leaves your skin silky smooth. This time I stayed in the Room called “Hoshiakari,” and the water in the open-air bath in the Room felt especially high quality. Dinner featured delicious kué (longtooth grouper), and I also enjoyed local Wakayama sake. That said, breakfast feels noticeably less satisfying than it used to. There were fewer side dishes that seemed to be prepared in-house, and while there was oden, some items (like daikon) hadn’t been peeled properly, which affected the texture. That never used to happen before. Even my favorite Inobuta curry had been renamed “homemade curry” and was sweeter—more geared toward children. Still, aside from breakfast, I enjoyed my stay more than enough—though it did feel like something was missing to truly complete the experience.

    Great value for money and very satisfying.

    This was my first stay. At check-in, the reception area felt lifeless and I did not feel welcomed at all, and the front desk staff member who assisted us was very businesslike—the worst impression. A friendly man next to her kindly explained the mochi-pounding event, but when my friend asked the woman about it, she coldly replied, “It’s written on the flyer.” That was disappointing. However, that seemed to be the only disappointing part of the service. The open-air Onsen bath offered a panoramic view of the ocean at sunset, and the water quality was excellent. The meal was also a truly authentic course—from appetizer through sashimi, grilled dish, simmered dish, soup dish, main course, and takikomi rice—and everything was delicious. The staff service during dinner was also very good. The Room and Facility were old but overall clean. Above all, we changed from a Hotel in Shirahama that would have cost 120,000 yen for two people to this Hotel for 80,000 yen; despite it being New Year’s Eve, it was great value for money. We were very satisfied with both the Onsen and the food, so I’m glad we switched. I would like to visit again. Thank you very much.

    Blue sea and blue sky

    This is probably my fourth stay at Verdevere in Susami. I drive from Osaka for the wonderfully warming Onsen and delicious meals. The moment I step into the Room, I’m greeted by a magnificent view of blue sea and green mountains—something you could never see in the city. Swimming in the pool surrounded by nature, you can hear birdsong and the calls of cicadas. This is a Resort Hotel set in great nature, with an Onsen springing up on site and a nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere. I’m truly satisfied to enjoy delicious seafood and Kumano beef as well. However, this time I was disappointed not to find my favorite “Inobuta Curry” at breakfast. Next time, I’ll visit in the colder season for grouper (kue).

    Simple breakfast

    Stayed in the Moonlight Room with my dog. The room was dimly lit, which seems to be the concept, but it felt gloomy. The open-air Onsen had bugs crawling around, making it unusable. Breakfast lacked replenishment of side dishes and was full of shortages; staff only brought items after being told. For nearly 40,000 yen per person, this was unacceptable. Even more affordable Onsen resorts are better equipped. Truly disappointing.

    Hotel with Beautiful Bougainvillea in Bloom

    I stayed here a long time ago, but this time I visited because it allows pets. The place has changed quite a bit since then, but beautiful bougainvillea flowers were blooming all over the facade to welcome us. The meals were delicious and reasonably priced. Good!

    The Onsen and meals ...

    The Onsen and meals were excellent. Above all, I was delighted to stay with my adorable Maron. The room was clean and odor-free, which was great. I would love to visit again.

    I stayed in May and was in the Akane Room. It was hot, so I turned on the air conditioner, but unfortunately, a lot of dust came out. The lighting in the room was also dim; it would have been better if it were brighter. The food at Kacho was excellent and absolutely delicious. There were many foreign staff members who seemed to be working hard to learn Japanese, which left a very positive impression on me.

    Dog Run Location

    I couldn't find the location of the dog run. I tried searching for it about three times but couldn't locate it. This was my second stay, and I thought the food, service, and bath were excellent. Also, there was a new strawberry-picking facility that wasn't there last time, and I bought some strawberries at the lobby before leaving. They were very sweet and delicious.

    Delicious meals and excellent service

    The strawberries were unbelievably delicious. Every dish in the kaiseki course was carefully prepared and excellent. The dog was also very soothing.

    Surprise

    We stayed at the property to celebrate my husband's birthday and my daughter's new job. The staff who kindly and politely responded over the phone regarding the spiny lobster before our visit, and the staff who warmly assisted us when unloading luggage from the car were wonderful. The room was spacious with a great view, allowing us to relax. It would have been even more amazing if the weather had been better. We were moved by a large photo taken during dinner with a handwritten message as a gift. The photo is now displayed in our home. There were also many paintings in the hallway, making it enjoyable to walk through while viewing them. It was a heartwarming hotel. Thank you very much.

    I stayed with my eld...

    I stayed with my elderly mother and sister. First, the good points. The building felt a bit old, but the interior was renovated and clean. Paintings were displayed everywhere, and my mother was delighted, saying it felt like being in an art museum. The dinner was a small portion kaiseki, but it was more than enough. My mother loves meat, while my sister and I prefer fish, and both were very satisfied. Personally, I would have preferred the meat as regular shabu-shabu rather than soy milk shabu-shabu. The Ise lobster simmered in soy sauce was a bit of a waste; I would have preferred it as sashimi or grilled. Simmering it made the taste quite ordinary, and I thought it didn't need to be a simmered dish. The final ochazuke was incredibly delicious. Even though I was full, it went down smoothly. Breakfast was also good with a variety of ingredients. The seafood bowl and ochazuke were delicious. Previously, I stayed at a fairly expensive hotel in Nanki, and the breakfast included a seafood bowl, but the sashimi seemed like it was from the previous night's buffet, which was disappointing, so I honestly didn't have high expectations this time. However, the sashimi here was extremely fresh. If I had room in my stomach, I would have wanted seconds. Next, areas for improvement. I mentioned this in the survey, so I'll skip the details, but please improve the flooring in the Room. The flooring by the bed is nice, but the living area looks bad and is scary to walk on barefoot. Also, is it impossible to use the dinner venue for breakfast? Elderly people find it difficult to carry a tray with plates up the steps, and I saw some people placing the tray on the floor to go up. It was difficult for my mother too, so we carried it for her. Despite writing a lot, the staff's response was polite and kind, and the food was delicious, making it a Hotel I would like to visit again. Thank you very much.

    It became a wonderful memory.

    From the moment we arrived at the hotel, the staff's attentive service (which continued throughout our stay), the room with a great view, the delicious food, the hot spring with excellent water quality, and the open-air bath with a good view of the sea made our trip with two dogs truly wonderful.     Refresh both mind and body

    Stayed with my sister for a visit to the grave It was a sudden reservation, but we were upgraded to a room with an open-air bath, which refreshed both our minds and bodies.
