    My Favorite Accommodation

    I’ve been coming here for about three years. The thorough cleaning, delicious meals, and the wonderful open-air bath in the large public bath are all outstanding. The shared spaces are spacious and relaxing, and above all, the hospitality of all the staff who warmly welcome you is exceptional.

    Everything was excellent, and we were completely satisfied.

    The location was excellent, and the views of Sanshiro Island and Suruga Bay from the Room, the bath, and the lobby were amazing. There were complimentary drinks and tokoroten available in the free lobby, and the private family bath was open—everything could be used without a Reservation. The night view from the rooftop was also wonderful, and we enjoyed it like a vacation home. The staff service was outstanding as well. We would love to stay again.

    A Hotel You’ll Want to Visit Again

    We stayed at Shizen Tenyu for two nights. It was a quiet, relaxing Hotel. The meals were excellent. The views were beautiful from everywhere, and although the sunset was partly behind the clouds, it was still stunning. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. We would like to visit at least once every year.

    The weather was wonderful, and we were able to enjoy a truly luxurious stay—we were very satisfied. Thank you for your excellent service from start to finish, and for the delicious meals. The grilled salt-seasoned grunt fish (isaki) that the head chef caught was especially tasty. Each dish was served in order, and everything was outstanding. It was also great that we could use the private bath without a Reservation, and we were very happy with the all-you-can-drink beer. Above all, it was quiet with no children around, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The stink bugs in the bath area were a bit scary. We would love to return again. It made us love Nishi-Izu even more. Thank you very much.

    We were very satisfied with the hospitality, the Onsen, and the meals. There were also many enjoyable features, such as a private beach, an observation deck, and stargazing from the rooftop floor.

    Savor an extraordinary escape at a relaxed pace.

    On the day, I first headed from Tochigi to Shuzenji, took a leisurely stroll around the Onsen town, and then went as far as Shimoda to visit Gyokusenji Temple and Bentenjima Island. It felt like I had traveled halfway around the Izu Peninsula. After that, I headed north again and arrived at the Accommodation. Although I arrived a bit early, the staff promptly guided me from the parking lot to the lobby. My Room was a beautiful corner Room on the second floor with an excellent view. Unfortunately, it was cloudy that day so I couldn’t see the sunset, but the next morning I was able to enjoy the scenery under a wonderful blue sky. I was traveling solo, but I also tried one of the private baths briefly; it seemed better suited for families. On the other hand, I had an extremely relaxing time in the open-air bath outside the large public bath. Soaking in the Onsen while looking out over Sanshiro Island and Suruga Bay right in front of me was pure bliss. Then came dinner—the moment I had been looking forward to. The meal fully lived up to my expectations; everything was excellent. Centered on seafood from Suruga Bay, paired with sake, it was thoroughly enjoyable. The additional order of spring mountain vegetables and firefly squid tempura also felt perfectly seasonal. Breakfast was wonderful as well—quite filling—but I finished it all. This is a fantastic place that can be fully enjoyed even when traveling alone. I’d love to return again to see the sunset next time.

    The food is exceptionally delicious.

    I stayed here to celebrate a friend’s new job! Not sure if it was meant as a welcome sweet, but everything we ate—from the tokoroten available until 5:00 PM onward—was delicious. I wondered if I’d be able to finish the celebratory cake at the end of dinner, but it was so good I ate it all. Thank you as well for the thoughtful message. My friend was truly happy with the surprise. There are plenty of private baths, which is great, but for us the large public bath was the best—the view from the open-air bath was amazing. If I had to ask for one thing, I would have liked cold water in the changing area. Also, most of the after-bath ice creams were soda-flavored, so I would have preferred more classic options like vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry. Many of the staff seemed quite young, but everyone was refreshing and professional, and we had a very comfortable stay. The Room itself was comfortable and nice; however, I would have liked to control the lights by remote or from near the headboard. Since there wasn’t a reading light or footlight, that felt a bit disappointing for an Accommodation these days. Also, there is a large floor lamp in one corner of the Room that didn’t feel very stable (not due to age). It wobbled enough that I worried it could tip over onto my head during an earthquake.

    A One-Night Stay with Warm Hospitality

    There are four private open-air baths, and it was very convenient to be able to check availability from anywhere by scanning a QR code. The staff were also very courteous, and we had a wonderful two-day stay. Thank you very much. We would like to stay here again when we visit Izu.

    It was full of hospitality.

    I recently stayed with my partner. The accommodation, from the lobby to the room, dining area, and private bath, was exceptionally clean. The ocean view from every part of the facility was truly soothing. The meals were wonderfully crafted with great attention to detail. Above all, the staff's hospitality was among the best I have ever experienced in any hotel. Many had warm smiles that made us feel very welcome. It became a very memorable experience for us. We would love to stay again!

    Great View

    I stayed here again because the view was great during my previous stay before the renovation. The number of rooms has been reduced, and private baths and lounges have been added for a more comfortable experience. Thanks to this, I was able to relax and enjoy the bath at my own pace. Dinner was delicious, but I felt it could have had a bit more volume. The weather was perfect that day, and the sunset view from the room was stunning. I would love to visit again to see another beautiful sunset. Thank you!

    Wonderful Stay

    It was truly an amazing stay where we could fully enjoy the nature of Nishi-Izu. The beautiful blue sea, the sunset sinking into the horizon, and the star-filled sky were incredibly moving. Both the observation deck and private beach, which we visited via a walking trail from the accommodation, offered breathtaking views. The room was clean and very comfortable. The staff were all polite and attentive, making our stay extremely pleasant. The onsen felt slightly dated but had a perfect water temperature that was very relaxing. Guests bring towels from their rooms to the onsen, but since there were more than enough towels provided in our room for each person, we didn’t have to worry about drying them—this was a big plus! However, the hairdryer’s airflow was slightly weak. And above all else, what stood out most was the food! It was absolutely delicious and made for lively family meals. Both dinner and breakfast menus were exceptional—meals this memorable at a ryokan are rare to come by. We will definitely stay here again!!

    An accommodation offering spacious rooms with views of the Dogashima sea and delicious seafood cuisine.

    I stayed for one night. The course I chose was "[Sanshiro Island & Suruga Bay View] 12-Tatami Mat Japanese Room + Spacious Veranda <2023 Newly Renovated> (Japanese Room)," and everything from the room's view, cuisine, to the onsen was excellent. In fact, not only from the room but also from the rooftop, open-air bath, and breakfast area, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the sea. Each floor's elevator hall has chairs and tables with a spacious and relaxing atmosphere. The simmered golden-eye snapper was so delicious that I even enjoyed every drop of its sauce. This was my first private trip since the COVID-19 pandemic began, and it exceeded my expectations in every way. The staff were cheerful and kind, making my stay comfortable and worry-free. The view of the horizon and sunset from the rooftop was breathtakingly beautiful—a memory to cherish forever. I had a wonderful trip—thank you very much!

    We had high expectations for the room newly renovated in 2021, but the water facilities seemed unchanged, which was a bit disappointing. However, the meals were very delicious, and the staff provided excellent service. The open-air bath with a view of the ocean was thoroughly enjoyable. With some additional care to the facility (such as fixing peeling wallpaper in the private open-air bath), it could be even better. We would love to visit again and try another room next time!

    Seaside Accommodation

    The room offers a stunning ocean view, and the sunset was breathtaking, allowing us to enjoy the rare sight of the sun sinking into the sea. The Onsen was great as well, but it would have been more convenient if towels were provided in the changing area instead of having to bring them from the room.

    The accommodation offered delicious meals. The view from the accommodation was also wonderful. We were very satisfied with the staff, and what stood out the most was the smile and kind assistance of the gentleman who kindly drove us to the bus stop upon departure. However, there is one thing I hope can be improved. Initially, we had to change rooms because the air conditioning in our reserved room was not functioning well, and we were moved to a room with a fantastic view. However, the faucet in that room's washroom was outdated and inconvenient to use. Nowadays, faucets that stop when pushed down are more common; using an older type from before events like the Great Hanshin Earthquake felt inconvenient. It was unfortunate for such a nice room otherwise.

    It was a relaxing stay.

    Three women stayed at this accommodation to relax and unwind from daily fatigue, as we had been curious about it for a while. Unfortunately, the weather during our stay was not ideal, so we couldn't see the sunset or sunrise. However, even in cloudy or rainy conditions, the view of Sanshiro Island was beautiful and atmospheric, making it enjoyable. Being able to overlook the islands from the room's window felt truly luxurious. On the second morning, there was quite a bit of rain. Thinking that an open-air bath in the rain might be charming in its own way, I went for a soak at 5 AM—and it turned out to be quite nice (haha). Although we weren't blessed with good weather, the meals were absolutely delicious and very comforting. One of my friends doesn't drink alcohol; during dinner service, one of the staff noticed this and kindly asked if they should bring her rice first. My friend enjoyed her meal with rice alongside sashimi and simmered fish dishes. She was so touched by their thoughtful gesture that she kept saying on our way back home how happy she felt and how delicious everything was. Not only during dinner but throughout our stay, all staff members who interacted with us were incredibly polite and cheerful—it made us feel truly pampered by their hospitality. Though it was just a short one-night stay, thank you for providing us with such wonderful relaxation!

    Stunning views, delicious cuisine, and warm hospitality provided a truly relaxing experience.

    This was my second stay. My first visit with friends left me with such wonderful memories that this time, I stayed with my family (grandfather, grandmother, and mother) in two rooms. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed in the lobby and guided through the check-in process using a glass pen while enjoying the stunning view of Dogashima. We stayed in both a Western-style room and a Japanese-style room; both offered breathtaking views and had sophisticated designs. After checking in, we enjoyed tokoroten, a specialty of Nishi-Izu. The combination with vinegar soy sauce was perfect, and having it while watching the sunset was an unforgettable experience. There were also complimentary ice pops available, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Later on, we used the onsen facilities. Although there were stairs leading to the onsen that initially concerned us due to our elderly grandparents' age, they managed well as they were captivated by the beautiful scenery along the way. Despite some effort required for climbing up and down stairs, they fully appreciated the open-air bath's view of the ocean and sunset. What impressed us most during this stay was your exceptional service regarding meals. One of our family members has kidney disease requiring restrictions on salt intake and seafood consumption. When I reached out via email beforehand to discuss these dietary needs—knowing it might be difficult—I mentioned that even partial accommodations would be greatly appreciated. To our surprise and delight, you went above and beyond by providing low-sodium meals including reduced-salt miso soup and soy sauce as well as substituting certain ingredients where necessary—all handled with great care! We are deeply grateful for such thoughtful attention from both your email staff member who assisted us prior-to-arrival alongside culinary expertise demonstrated by your chef! The food itself tasted incredible; fresh seafood stood out especially! Most importantly though—it brought immense joy seeing how much comforted satisfaction expressed repeatedly throughout meal times came directly from knowing someone dealing w/health challenges could safely enjoy delicious dishes too! For my grandparents aged 82 years old experiencing their very first trip within Japan ever—this became truly memorable momentous occasion filled w/smiles laughter heartfelt expressions like “feels heavenly here!” They cherished every aspect ranging scenic beauty surrounding West-Izu coastline warm hospitality exuded traditional Japanese accommodation paired perfectly delectable cuisine offerings creating unforgettable lifetime treasure shared together amongst loved ones present during stay itself!     The staff's service was disappointing. There were mistakes in the check-in guidance, no send-off upon departure, and while we understand they may be part-time workers, better preparation and training for customer service would have been appreciated. Although the photos on the introduction page look beautiful, details such as cleaning of the Room and hallways were lacking. The toilet in the Room had an unpleasant smell, and overall, it felt like a stay without hospitality. While the food was delicious, it was regrettable overall.

    Room, Onsen, and Stunning Views from the Rooftop

    Everything from the welcome to the farewell was exceptional at this accommodation. The lobby, the room (we reserved a room with a view of Sanshiro Island), the onsen, and the rooftop view were breathtaking, making me feel that choosing this accommodation was absolutely worth it! We used both the private onsen and the large public bath; during the day, we enjoyed an ocean view, and at night, we soaked under a starry sky. It was truly the best among all onsen accommodations I’ve stayed at so far. The great weather also played a big part in enhancing our experience. Although it was a long and challenging journey to get there, all my fatigue disappeared instantly upon arrival. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming as well. Thank you so much!! :)

    We stayed at the accommodation with my husband and mother to celebrate her birthday. Thank you for sincerely accommodating our special meal requests in advance. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and we enjoyed it to the fullest. We were impressed by the room near the elevator and the proximity to "Sanshiro" and the sea. My elderly mother, whose hometown is near Dogashima, was very delighted. If I may suggest, having in-house wear available would help reduce luggage. The smiles of all staff members were wonderful as well—thank you for taking care of us!

    Excellent meals

    This was my first visit to Nishi-Izu. I went there hoping to see a beautiful sunset. The room was great. The hotel had excellent service and hospitality, and the meals were absolutely delicious. It felt like there might be a shortage of staff. The coffee machine in the lounge on the second floor wasn’t working properly, and I couldn’t call anyone for assistance. It’s a shame because the overall service was so thoughtful. Also, thank you to the person who cleaned my car’s windshield with water and a mop early in the morning! This is the first accommodation I’ve stayed at where they even clean your car! However, just using water left streaks on the windshield when driving; it would have been perfect if it had been wiped dry as well—sorry for mentioning this! The stone steps leading to the outdoor bath were dark at night; while there is lighting, having additional lights along the way would make it feel safer. Since this accommodation specializes in fish dishes, perhaps it can’t be helped, but while there was no smell in my room, throughout the building and hallways there was a strong scent of grilled fish lingering—it might be due to poor ventilation? That part was disappointing. However, all of your staff members were truly wonderful people. Thank you for taking care of us during our stay!

    Accommodation with exceptional hospitality

    After enjoying a relaxing bath, the cold tokoroten jelly served in the lounge with a stunning view of Dogashima was absolutely delicious. Thank you for the treat. My husband was thrilled to have beer as well. Both dinner and breakfast were incredibly tasty and felt heartfelt, which we truly appreciated. Perhaps because it was a weekday, we could use the private baths anytime, and both my husband and I enjoyed the large public bath all to ourselves, allowing us to relax completely. The sunset over Dogashima viewed from the rooftop was simply exceptional. The staff members were always welcoming with warm smiles, making our stay very comfortable. Thank you so much! The only slight disappointment was noticing some dirt on the lobby windows—it felt like such a waste considering the breathtaking view outside.

    Year-end trip

    After a long time, I decided to travel to Nishi-Izu. I chose a Stays near Dogashima. I was looking forward to it, but had a tire trouble on the way. As I got closer, there was a storm. I wondered what would happen, but I arrived at the Stays. The staff came running out even before check-in time. They guided me to the Room with a refreshing attitude, apologizing for the storm. Not only at this time, but they always provided refreshing hospitality. The meals were very delicious and satisfying. The only disappointment was the bath. The large public bath was okay, but the open-air bath and private bath had low water temperatures, which was disappointing. I hope to visit again.

    I stayed in Room 101 from December 22nd for one night. The Facility and food were perfect. The staff's service was especially wonderful. I really enjoyed chatting with the person who served us dinner. I will definitely visit again, next time with my daughter and her husband. Thank you very much for a truly enjoyable time.

    It was a property with a wonderful view and a pleasant onsen. The open-air bath, where you can soak while listening to the sound of the waves and feeling the breeze, was the best. The spring quality was also an alkaline soft water, allowing for a leisurely long soak. The room bath was also free-flowing, spacious enough for two people to enjoy luxuriously. The meal, especially the abalone with liver soy sauce and simmered golden eye snapper, left a strong impression. The room floor was cold for this time of year, and I think it would be more comfortable if it were a bit more spacious. The overall building had an atmosphere that suggested a renovation, not luxurious, but well-executed. The lounge had poor access to the large public bath, but you could enjoy beer and coffee with a good view, and the tokoroten was delicious. In the morning, while drinking coffee in the lounge, I saw an employee wiping the glass of a guest's car below the window, which surprised other guests as well.

    I had a relaxing sta...

    I had a relaxing stay. The building is old, but it has been renovated and the interior was clean. The staff were all very pleasant and many of them were young, which made me want to support them. The meals were a feast, with sashimi platters, steamed abalone, and simmered golden eye snapper, among others. Everything was delicious. I believe it will continue to improve, so I look forward to seeing how it develops in the future.
