    Happy Birthday

    Last year, my 101-year-old mother-in-law passed away, and I invited my elder sister and niece, who have been feeling a bit lonely since then, to stay here. We celebrated my sister's birthday during dinner with a toast, and the staff surprised us with a Happy Birthday song and cake. Seeing my sister's happy smile made me feel so glad I chose this Hotel. Although we couldn't see the sunset this time due to rain (unlike last time), we will definitely come back again!

    I returned because I enjoyed the sauna and open-air bath.

    A rebranded Onsen Hotel (formerly a traditional Ryokan) striving for excellence. Oceanfront location. Convenient access from JR Minamata Station via city bus for just 150 yen. If you're staying in the Minamata area for an Onsen experience, this is the place to be. The rooms and elevators are not brand new, but... With both dinner and breakfast now served as a buffet, I opted for No Meals Included and enjoyed a quiet time in my room. The Onsen is also visited by locals on day trips but was not crowded. I came for the open-air bath and could stay immersed in it endlessly.

    The sunset is

    I stayed to enjoy the ocean view and sunset. Unfortunately, I couldn't see the sunset, but it seemed like the ocean view would be enjoyable in good weather. The buffet was very enjoyable.

    Heartwarming Accommodation

    I stayed with my parents and wife. The view from the oceanfront room was stunning, and while the facility is not new, it is well-maintained and clean. Regarding meals, I usually don't go for buffets, but I was looking forward to it after reading reviews. Dinner was especially delightful with fresh sashimi, large fried shrimp, and curry being particularly delicious. There were plenty of drink options with an all-you-can-drink service (almost all-inclusive unless you drink in your room). I personally enjoyed many shochu highballs. The restaurant staff's thoughtfulness and enjoyable conversations left a lasting impression on me—it felt like a warm accommodation. After returning home, I happened to watch the accommodation's YouTube video where the president spoke about "warmth," which made perfect sense to me. My father got tired during the trip, so we were very grateful to borrow a wheelchair. To be honest, I didn’t know much about Yunoko Onsen before this trip, but it turned out to be an incredibly relaxing onsen destination. It’s a bit sad that this area has declined over time; however, I really liked the environment around the accommodation—especially Yunoko Island Park’s atmosphere was wonderful. I took walks there four times: in the evening at sunset (when it’s lit up), at night during illumination hours, early morning at dawn, and later in the morning. I sincerely hope that Yunoko Onsen continues to thrive as a beautiful onsen destination for years to come. Thank you also for sending us our family photo—it meant so much! We will definitely stay here again when visiting Minamata!

    It is disappointing ...

    It is disappointing that the location overlooking the sea is not fully utilized. Especially, the rooftop open-air bath, while equipped with bathing wear, was completely visible from the nearby pathway. However, it’s hard to call it a bath worth wearing bathing wear for. The view of the sea from the Hotel is truly one of a kind; I hope for some creative efforts to make guests want to return just to experience this again. Thank you for your thoughtful gestures as we were celebrating an anniversary. During our meal, staff took photos of us, but I realized after leaving that there was no follow-up or mention about them at checkout. I wonder what happened to those photos?

    It was a good holiday.

    As expected, all the staff were very pleasant, and the meals were delicious. The open-air bath had an amazing view. The starry sky was also very beautiful. If I may be a bit greedy, I think it would have been even more enjoyable if there was a bit more novelty in the variety of dishes.

    This quality at this price is amazing.

    The Stays is not new, but it was very clean and not noisy even with many families. The detailed decorations showed a sense of attention to detail. We enjoyed a stunning ocean view from the lobby, the panoramic bath, the dining area, and the room. The quality of the hot spring water was good, and there were various welcome drinks to choose from, such as matcha latte. Above all, the breakfast and dinner buffet were excellent. While it wasn't an overwhelming variety, the sashimi served on a boat, as well as the meat, fish, and vegetables, were delicious, and it felt like there were hardly any ready-made dishes. The all-you-can-drink selection was centered around shochu, and the staff's attentiveness was wonderful. The access is good for this type of hotel, and I definitely want to stay at this property again.
