Next time, we’ll stay in the main building instead of the annex.
I chose the annex without meals this time, but next time I’ll stay in the main building with meals included. The annex has a shower room and a kitchen, so you can cook something and do laundry as well. However, since it’s a Ryokan in the mountains, there are insects. I even had to deal with a huge spider in the annex. It may be best to keep in mind that it’s a historic old building. Other than that, you can spend a relaxing time there.

Quiet and relaxing
I stayed in a detached annex building. With its unique layout and atmosphere, it offered an escape from the everyday and made for an interesting stay.

It was wonderful.
The Room (Matsu-no-Ma), the new bath, the meals, and all the staff were wonderful. It was a truly memorable stay.

A Historic, Beautifully Preserved Important Cultural Property Building
I stayed for one night as snowflakes drifted down. While there are no new, highly efficient facilities, I loved the tasteful Taisho-era decorative architecture with its classic charm. Authentic historical pieces—such as a Japanese calligraphy plaque handwritten by Tesshu Yamaoka—are displayed throughout. Since there were few guests, we were grateful to have the bath reserved for private use. The large hall on the second floor and some guest rooms were under renovation, so I would like to stay again once everything is completed.

Accommodation that Embraces History and Heritage
Maintain a Facility that reflects meticulous care and attention, progressing steadily step by step. The next update might be the replacement of tatami mats in the guest rooms.

A One-of-a-Kind Accommodation
The reason I chose this accommodation was because it is very close to "Yoro Tenmei Hantenchi" and within walking distance. Enjoying "Yoro Tenmei Hantenchi" was my main purpose. I initially didn’t plan to be particular about the accommodation, but when I saw Chitose Rou’s website, I was amazed by how beautiful it looked! I thought staying at such a wonderful accommodation would be a rare experience, so I decided to book a luxurious room. As a result, I had an incredibly wonderful stay! The room designed by Japanese painter Seiho Takeuchi felt like an entire art piece. Personally, I loved the sliding door paintings and the crane-shaped handles. Although the aged window frames allowed cherry blossom petals to come in even when closed, it added charm to the experience. At night, the view of cherry blossoms in front, the moon behind them, and faint city lights in the distance was truly moving! Both the cuisine and hospitality were exceptional. The herbal bath had a gentle natural fragrance that was so pleasant that I purchased some for home use as well. Hearing from the proprietress that Shusaku Arakawa—the artist who planned and designed "Yoro Tenmei Hantenchi"—had stayed at this accommodation several times made me feel deeply connected to sharing space with him across time.

In an old Stays, whe...
In an old Stays, when considering a modern Property, there may be parts that feel lacking, such as the absence of a toilet and washbasin in the Room, but even so, it has a very nice atmosphere, the food is delicious, and I was able to have a good time. I would like to visit again.

Stayed during the three-day weekend in October.
It seems that the historic building has been undergoing renovation for the past three years. It still appears to be in progress. It was my first time in Yoro Town, but I was able to walk to Yoro Falls in about 20 minutes. The herbal bath was very relaxing and warmed me up. The Hida beef shabu-shabu for dinner was very delicious, and the udon and rice at the end left me full. The next day, I visited the Site of Reversible Destiny, about a 7-minute drive away, and experienced the mysterious art, making it a very satisfying trip. Later, Yoro Town was featured on the travel show "Tabi Salad," which brought back fond memories. Thank you for the wonderful memories.
